Exciting News about Star Wars: Galaxy Edge!

Exciting news about Star Wars: Galaxy Edge was released this morning at D23’s Destination D event, by Disney Parks, Experience and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek. During the presentation, two videos were shared, revealing for the first time the names of the two major attractions that will be apart of Star Wars: Galaxy Edge at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The first video below is titled “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run”, which will put guests behind the controls of the most famous ship in the galaxy, in one of three unique flight crew roles.

The second attraction named “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance”, will put guests in the centre of an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order. The clip above shows actual footage from the attraction, leaving tension and excitement running high!

Combining these two new incredible experiences alongside the land’s dynamic elements and optional interactive integration with the Play Disney Parks app, will allow guests to become galactic travellers in this new galaxy, far, far away.

Furthermore, Bob shared more exciting Star Wars news, in that Oscar-winning composer John Williams is composing new and original Star Wars themes exclusively for Star Wars: Galaxy Edge. The below video shows an exclusive preview of the all-new music, recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London. Alongside the world-class Orchestra are clips of the recent construction progress at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

If that isn’t enough, there will be lots of things to do at this exotic outpost, such as visiting a street market in Black Spire Outpost, allowing guests to enjoy delicacies such as blue milk, or visiting an old friend Rex in Cantina. Guests will also be able to encounter famous creatures and characters from the Star Wars universe. This larger than life land will be opening at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2019.

Bob also shared news about the exciting in-development Star Wars resort coming to Walt Disney World. This groundbreaking resort will be a unique resort unlike any other. From the moment guests board their launch pods, they will be transported to a luxury starship containing a high-end dining and space-view cabins.
