The holidays are in full swing at many Disneyland and Disney World resorts, including Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa! Disney always offers amazing and grand holiday experiences and the holidays at Aulani is no exception to this. There are some amazing holiday offerings coming this December, which makes the youngster in me giddy with joy! Perhaps a trip to the island is in my near future? With these offerings it’s hard to not want to go.

At Aulani, located in Ko Olina, Hawaii, guests can enjoy an island get away complete with activities for all ages to enjoy. Guests can dance with character at a pool party, listen to a story told by Uncle, or our younger guests can visit Aunty’s Beach house for games and crafts while the parents enjoy a relaxing spa day. But, now through the month of December guests can be immersed in a Hawaiian Christmas! Around the resort the guests can visit with characters dressed in their fun Holiday-themed attire, enjoy a Candy Cane Mickey Macaroon, and enjoy classic holiday fare at the restaurants. Guests can also feast at a lavish Hawaiian inspired Christmas Day Dinner and Celebration in the Kaiona Ballroom! Sounds like a unique, and delicious, experience!

On select dates, guests can also enjoy Holiday Caroling strolling around the resort, a Keiki Holiday Cookie decorating event at Aunty’s Beach House, or you can learn how to make your own gingerbread house. Have you seen the “Kakamora” inspired Gingerbread house? It’s a paradise of it’s own!

For guests that are visiting during the week of Christmas you can look forward to a visit from Santa! The Aloha Santa Visit takes place on December 24^th from 8am to 1pm at Aunty’s Beach House! Following Santa’s visit guests can continue on with their holiday cheer on the Kipuka Lawn from 3p-5p. During this event guests will enjoy hot chocolate, holiday cookies, and a special Holiday ‘Ohana Disney Movie Night on the lawn.

It is getting to be that time of year where the biggest names in travel publish the lists of their favorites. Criteria vary depending on the source, but you can bet they will choose the best stuff. For that reason, Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney have already made their appearance.

Disney Cruise Line

Newsweek has come out with their inaugural list of America’s Best Companies for Customer Service. It should come as no surprise that Disney Cruise Line made the list, and they came in at Number 1. Newsweek based their rankings off of a survey of more than 20,000 consumers. Disney Cruise Line was also ranked as one of the Best for Families by the Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards. The awardees for this list are chosen based off of first-hand experience and industry expertise. This is Disney Cruise Line’s fifth consecutive appearance on the list. The Disney Magic, the first ship of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, started sailing in 1998, and Disney Cruise Line has been going strong ever since. Be on the lookout for new ships in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

Adventures by Disney

Adventures by Disney also appears in the Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks in the Best for Families category. It might seem a little odd to be chosen by the Cruise Critics, for the third year in a row, but there is certainly a method to the madness. Adventures by Disney has partnered with AmaWaterways to offer some amazing river cruises through Europe. There is also the possibility of adding an Adventure to your cruise package when you sail with Disney Cruise Line. Walt Disney Animation Studios Summer Intern Create “Voilà,” A Perfect Animated Short

The Walt Disney Animation Studios CG & Art intern program is a well-respected program full of diverse individuals aspiring in animation careers around the world. Each summer the internship accepts several talented students who work closely with mentoring Disney animators to learn the tricks of the trade. Students accepted this summer were challenged a bit differently than in the past. Under the guidance of animators, art directors, and editors students were tasked with working together to create something beautiful.

It’s interesting to note that although in normal years, interns were tasked with individual responsibilities related to their discipline with the overall goal of creating a piece of art for viewing. This year, interns were given a little more responsibility. For example, although lighting may be a specialty, interns were expected to take on all responsibilities related to creating their project.

Alessandro Jacomini, Director of Photography and Lighting (mentor), has this to say about his summer interns, “We wanted to make sure to help them decide where they want to go with the continuation of their academic career, but also their professional career beyond that. They told us this experience helped to clarify ideas or reinforce their intuition.”

In terms of making the decision to pick specific quality in participants, Jacomini went on to describe the criteria they were looking for as “artists that were great and had a strong sensibility, but at the same time we could perceive that they would be able to collaborate and tackle multiple disciplines.”

Through the program, interns met daily with mentors who provided ongoing support to their project, eventually culminating in a 30 second short that we absolutely fell in love with:

“Voilà,” was born out of a successful semester this summer. Only eight weeks of work concluded in this wonderful and beautiful short. Keep in mind that only 5 people worked on this, all sharing equal responsibility.

This short really resonated with me, and I’m certain that’s what it’s creators were going for. As a father, I was compelled immediately to think about the hard work that my children put into projects and how they often are seeking my approval. My reaction to their efforts can either ignite or falter their creative personalities and ideas. Crazy how you can feel all of that based on a 30 second Disney short, huh?

However, that’s what makes it such a wonderful achievement for these young, talented, and aspiring artists. These interns obviously learned a boatload of information regarding animation and how Disney does it, and we feel strongly that they’ve all got bright futures ahead of them!

In closing, the Walt Disney Animation Studio intern program is a key component to the future development of the Disney brand in terms of film. The fostering of creative minds and technical genius that the program seems to harbor is based solidly in a unique and vast “organic culture.” The ability of Disney to allow these students to take place in meetings, have undenied access to mentors and resources, as well as feel as though they are part of the Disney animation team seems like a mixture for future success, and “Voilà” is proof!

Calling all Coffee Lovers – 2nd Starbucks Returns to Downtown Disney Getting your coffee fix is going to be easier soon! Slated to reopen on December 10th, the location had closed in June. The space the coffee shop occupied was scheduled to become a new hotel. However, issues plague the project and it was scrapped. Java junkies rejoice knowing they can find their favorite cup of Joe in two locations at Downtown Disney in Anaheim.

This little sign will come down when the doors open on Monday the tenth of December. The location is great, right across from the monorail. Perfect to snag a beverage or a sweet treat as you shop till your heart’s content.

While we were excited about an expansion project, that would have added accommodation, a fourth hotel to the bustling area, we are happy to have the Earl of Sandwich back as a go-to eatery and Starbuck second location for our caffeine needs.

With the busy holiday season upon us, the reopening comes at the perfect time. Not just drinks are found at this loved shop, great gifts and tasty treats can also be found.

Breaking News: Photo ID is Being Required for Annual Passholders with Magic Bands

Breaking News! A couple of our writers were asked for photo ID while entering the parks this morning.

As you can see new signs are up at the entrance of the parks asking for guests to have their ID ready when they come to the gate (parking lot) and tap their magic band. Both writers are annual passholders and according to them never had to show their I.D on previous visits.

We aren’t sure the reason behind this change or policy enforcement, I think some people are using annual passholders magic bands to get free parking…

Anywho… Be prepared for a few delays while entering the parks if you are driving and are an Annual Passholder.

‘Live With Kelly And Ryan’ Rings in the 2018 Holiday Season

Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest are at it again by bringing us fun festive themed weeks for the 2018 Holiday Season! This dynamic duo always brings us fun and unique episodes and this holiday season will be no different. Dubbed ‘Tis the season for holiday cheer on “Live with Kelly and Ryan”, Kelly and Ryan will be getting their audience members into the spirit during in December by bringing us their annual Christmas extravaganza, a holiday sweater spectacular, and a special end-of-the-year episode!

Kelly and Ryan will be kicking off the month long celebration by featuring a “Holiday Hits Week” December 10-14^th. The pair will be showcasing a different Christmas classic each day. Starting off the week will be “American Idol” winner Maddie Poppe. Tuesdays show will feature YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa and the multitalented violinist Lindsey Stirling will appear on Wednesday! If you haven’t had the pleasure to hear Lindsey Stirling perform you will definitely want to tune in on Wednesday! Thursday’s episode will feature singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson and 2016 “America’s Got Talent” winner Grace Vanderwaal. These two amazing performers will be teaming up together to perform their favorite classic Christmas song. Rounding out the week will be the incredibly talented singer-songwriter, Michael Buble. This will be one amazing week for Kelly and Ryan!

The fun is just getting started! For the week of December 17-21 Kelly and Ryan will be having their “Countdown to Christmas” by focusing on last minute holiday tips! The dynamic duo will showcase tips for holiday entertaining, last minute gifts, and more! Audience members will even have the chance to take part in the “Live’s money games” and walk away with some serious cash! You can count me in! This week sounds like a blast as it is, but then it gets better! On Friday, December 21^st will be Kelly and Ryan’s holiday sweater spectacular! Kelly and Ryan will dedicate the hour to this popular seasonal attire. The quirky hosts showcase a number of different fun and outrageous sweaters along with their special guests, Vanessa Hudgens and the Crafty Lumberjacks, and the audience members! We encourage you at home to wear your holiday sweaters as well! Be sure to tag us at #chipandco!

On December 24^th, the hosts, along with special guest Seth MacFarlane, will present “Kelly and Ryan’s Christmas Eve”. This episode surely get you into the Christmas spirit by showcasing plenty of holiday music, along with special performances by country superstar Martina McBride and the highly acclaimed Young People’s Chorus of New York City. The special episode will feature top celebrities, such as Mariah Carey, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Kerry Washington. These special guests will also be sharing their favorite holiday memories. The show will wrap with a visit from our favorite jolly man, Santa Claus.

Lastly, on December 31^st, Kelly and Ryan will be sending of 2018 with “Live’s End of The Year Viewers’ Choice Show” which will feature episodes that highlight episodes voted as favorite by the viewers. Napolini Now Open In Downtown Disney District

Napolini Pizzeria is now open in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort!

The new pizza joint is a great place to savor Neopolitan-style pizza while also enjoying create-your-own-pizzas, exquisite sandwiches, fresh salads, and Italian desserts. Napolini invites you to sit on the patio, create a pizza, and enjoy an Italian soda. Delizioso!

The create-your-own-pizzas allow guests to choose from various toppings like Italian sausage, ham, chicken, pepperoni, provolone cheese, broccolini, arugula, black and green olives, roasted red peppers, artichokes, pineapple, and many more!

Napolini will also have a few signature pizzas on the menu for guests to enjoy. Leave it to the pizza-making experts and savor these six delicious signature choices:

California: chicken, BBQ sauce, red onions, cilantro, mozzarella, smoked gouda
Capri: shrimp, mozzarella, fontina, lemon pesto sauce
Amalfi: D.O.C. mozzarella buffalo, tomato san marzano, basil, black olives
Roman: tomato, mozzarella, porchetta, onions, cherry peppers
Vesuvio: mozzarella, tomato, Calabrian chili pepper, green olives, anchovies
Brinner: fontina, mozzarella, potato, bacon, egg

Both the signature and create-your-own-pizzas are kneaded to order and cooking in a wood-burning oven.

Napolini’s sister restaurant, Naples Ristorante e Bar, is located right above Napolini on the second floor. They are currently open for service but will be unveiling a few new renovations and a brand new menu soon. These two additions are part of the ongoing Downtown Disney District transformation. Several venues opened this year are part of the same transformation such as Splitsville Luxury Lanes, The Disney Dress Shop, Salt & Straw scoop shop, and the reimagined World of Disney store. Also, coming soon are the Ballast Point Brewery and the Black Tap Craft Burgers and Shakes.

Tokyo Disneyland Photos and Video of Enchanted Tales of Beauty and the Beast. Toyko Disneyland has released some behind the scenes photos and video of the new construction and animatronics going into their large-scale development plans. These new plans from the Oriental Land Company show a huge expansion, the largest in the park’s history. With a budget of nearly 75 billion yen (just under $667,125,000.00 dollars) we have been wondering what they could be developing, now we have a better look with these new photos and video from Toyko Disneyland.

The new plans show a French countryside setting with a beautiful castle and village. We can not wait to see this in person!

Meet and greet opportunities with Gaston at his tavern as well as the village setting Belle walks through in the movie are the setting for the new land. As part of the largest addition, there will be a new “Beauty and the Beast” 8-minute long ride experience called Enchanted Tales of Beauty and the Beast. The structure will be just under 100 feet high, where you will take a ride moving through the story of Belle and Beast.

The ride will take you through to “be their guest” and party with all of our beloved friends from the film. I can already imagine the smells coming from the dining hall as the dishes put on a fabulous show.

Tokyo Disneyland will expand its Fantasyland to include a new area inspired by “Beauty & The Beast” film, including a themed attraction, shop and restaurant. The yet-to-be-named attraction will allow guests to board “enchanted dishes” that dance in rhythm to the film’s music. Guests will journey into Beast’s Castle just in time to break the spell that will help Belle make Beast human again. The park’s Fantasyland will also get a dedicated indoor theater for future live performances.

Other additions at Disneyland include an attraction inspired by the film “Big Hero 6” for Tomorrowland. In it, the lovable robot Baymax will invite guests to join their own “personal healthcare companion” on a musical whip ride that swings them around and around.

Minnie Mouse will be the star of a new Disney character greeting location planned for the park’s Toontown area. There, guests can walk through Minnie’s design studio and then meet her in person. Over at Tokyo DisneySea, the park will add Soarin’ to its Mediterranean Harbor area. Similar to the attraction at Epcot and Disney California Adventure park guests will take in sights and scents as they journey over famous landscapes.

Celebrate New Years in 'Incredibles' Style at Disneyland

The Nominations have been Announced for the 76th Annual Golden Globes! Disney & Marvel movies occupy 9 nominations in the 2019 list.

Nominations were announced live from the Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills. HFPA president Meher Tatna also announced a new award to be given for the first time at the 76th Golden Globes presentation, in recognition of major contributions to television.

The New Disney Parks Pandora 2019 Charm Is Now Available

The exquisite new charm is a soft powder pink, that highlights a Disney castle design on one side, with a “2019” on the other. There are jeweled fire works sprinkled about the bead, as well a jewel in the middle of the 9 as well. The “0” for 2019 is also a Mickey head, I love when they incorporate tiny details like ears to things.

Boardwalk Bakery holiday eats are here at Walt Disney World’s Boardwalk Resort. The showplace of the shore is now the showplace of the North Pole. Everyone’s favorite bakery on the Boardwalk is full of Christmas cheer with scrumptious holiday eats this December.

Gingerbread Man Cupcake – $5.99 or 1 snack credit

This is no ordinary gingerbread cupcake. Vanilla cake is filled with molasses mousse, decorated with molasses whip cream frosting and a chocolate gingerbread man.

Doodle Muffin – $3.99 or 1 snack credit

Snickerdoodles are a favorite cookie at Christmastime, so Boardwalk Bakery decided to create a muffin with those classic flavors.

Ham and Swiss Sandwich on Marble Rye with Chips – $10.49

If you are in the mood for something hearty, try the new melty ham and swiss on toasted marble rye. The meal comes with chips and can be used for a quick service meal credit on the Disney dining plan.

Chocolate Bouchon – $3.89 or 1 snack credit

Think lava cake (minus the molten middle) meets brownie. This decadent dessert gets its name Bouchon from the French word for cork inspired by the cake’s shape.

Pumpkin Swirl Bread – $3.49 or 1 snack credit

Thickly sliced pumpkin bread is swirled with an orange-lime cream cheese frosting. It brings a little of that Florida citrus flavor into this classic holiday dessert.
