Universal Orlando has a New Ticket Offer for Florida Residents

Florida Residents can enjoy Universal Orlando this spring with a new ticket offer. The offer includes a 2-park 3-day base ticket with upgrade options available.

The ticket option is very wallet friendly! Experience 3-days of theme park fun and thrills at Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure for $159.99 with a 2-park base ticket. The base ticket option allows admission to one theme park per day. The park to park option can be added for $40 allowing flexibility to visit both parks in a single day. This option will need to be added if you are wanting to fully experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and ride Hogwarts Express. Extend your stay by adding a fourth day for $15.00. These prices do not include tax which will be added at the time of purchase.

This is a limited-time offer running from now until June 30, 2019. There are no blockout days and the ticket may be used on non-consecutive days. Tickets must be purchased by April 4, 2019, and in order to receive full usage the first park day will need to be on or before June 28, 2019.

To purchase these special rate tickets you will need a valid promotional code that can be found on select Coca-Cola and Coke Zero-Sugar packaging. Proof of Florida residency is required when redeeming and using the tickets.

Use your tickets between February 9th to April 4th and take part in Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration. This family-friendly version of the popular New Orleans party boasts a parade with performers distributing plenty of iconic bead necklaces and distinctive Cajun cuisine. On select nights, park goers can enjoy concerts featuring top musical artists. The yearly event is held at Universal Studios and included in the theme park admission.

The I Lava you MagicBand Puts A Song In Your Heart For Valentine’s Day

A long long time ago, there was a volcano living all alone in the middle of the sea… The I Lava You Pixar Short and Song brings tears to my eyes EVERY time! I think it’s very fitting that for Valentine’s Day Disney has released a limited edition I Lava You MagicBand, because it really is such a romantic story!

The volcanic MagicBand released this past week, and has sold out a few locations in Walt Disney World, and shopDisney! It was still available at Disney Springs and Hollywood Studios, however. One volcano is featured on each side, and I love that when you clip your band around your wrist they are joined together once more. Disney has been having fun with the different colored pucks lately, and to fit the valentine’s day theme this one adds a touch of pink to the blue band.

The side with Lele actually shows her underwater and says “Valentine’s Day 2019” over her head.

Uku sits above the surface waiting for his true love, and the “I Lava You” logo soars above him.

This special Valentine’s Day band has a limited release of just 2,400 and is available for $34.99.

Also because I just can’t resist, let’s all watch “I Lava You” together again for some feels!

8:15 PM Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show Canceled Tonight

The Walt Disney World Resort is expecting inclement weather tonight, January 10^th. As such, the 8:15 PM performance of Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show has been canceled. The earlier performance is expected to take place.

Disney’s Spirit of Aloha dinner show is offered multiple times a week at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It is a traditional Hawaiian luau, complete with fire and hula dancing. Guests nosh on pulled pork, ribs, roasted chicken and move. The show is in an open-air theater in Luau Cove, so unfortunately, it can and does get canceled occasionally.

If you still want some Hawaiian fare, Capt. Cook’s is the quick service option at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and it’s delicious! The pulled pork nachos are divine! If you’re still looking for a dinner show, you can consider the rowdy spectacular, Hoop De Doo Review. This energetic and spirited show takes place at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

runDisney Marathon Weekend Memorabilia & Expo

Here’s a glance into the Expo at the runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna. The Expo is where anyone who is registered for an event this weekend must stop by to, at the very least, pick up their race event bib(s) and gEAR bag. The Expo takes place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Wednesday, January 9-Saturday, January 12. The hours of operation are listed here and it is open to the public as well.

Most athletes head straight for the HP Field House to grab their race bib(s) before heading over to The Arena to find the one stop shop for extra runDisney merchandise they want. This is a runDisney athletes favorite place. There is so many souvenirs available to take home and show off! The “I did it” shirt is one of the most popular options. As you can see, the merchandise ranges from tanks, shirts, spirit jerseys, hats, travel mug/tumblers, collectible trading pins, and more. runDisney added a few new items that are sure to catch your eye as you walk through. There’s even a few items for the non-runner who has happily come to cheer their friend or family member on in their respective race. Check out that “I ‘donut’ run” shirt or the “Sleepy Challenge” one. I have to admit, I chuckled when I saw those! My husband has conquered the “Sleepy Challenge” many times while I go run.

After you’ve grabbed one of everything in the runDisney merchandise booth, it’s time to go support other exhibitors. Many businesses, large and small come out for the Expo. There are so many, they have to house them in the VISA Athletic Center. You can find some smoking good deals on shoes, headphones, headbands, clothes, and more. These are typically only available during Expo hours. Over the year, the exhibitors have offered many runDisney and Disney Character inspiration in their athletic performance gear.

Don’t forget if you are running this weekend, you must stop by the Expo at least one day prior to your first race event to pick up your race bib and gEAR bag. You’ll need a valid photo ID and your signed waiver sheet to receive your bib. You can find even more details for the Expo here.

Marvel Day At Sea Reveals New Menu Offerings for 2019

This week aboard the Disney Magic, cruise guests are enjoying a “Marvel Day at Sea“- a fun-filled themed day with special events and entertainment. Guests are treated to heroic character encounters, a super deck show, and other marvelous activities. Guests were also treated with a special themed menu for Marvel Day at Sea.

The Marvel Day at Sea menu is depicted as a multi-page comic book.

What’s New At Disneyland In 2019

There are so many new things to look forward to at Disneyland this year! 2019 is bringing not only new lands, but new experiences, and attractions as well. Let’s take a peek at what we can look forward to.

Lunar New Year

From January 25th through February 17th, the Lunar New Year celebration comes to Disney’s California Adventure park. This celebration features activities, decor, and cuisine highlighting the cultural celebration. Being the year of the Pig, the Three Little Pigs will also feature heavily in “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession”.

Authentic Asian cuisine will be available in marketplaces, and guests will be able to purchase a Sip and Savor Pass. The pass is $39 and includes six coupons redeemable for food and beverages at select marketplace locations.

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine

From March 1st through April 23rd, Disney celebrates California inspired cuisine and beverages. A dozen Festival Marketplaces featuring small plates and specialty drinks are available to taste. Sip and Savor passes are also available for guests who want to try multiple dishes from each marketplace.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

In one of this years’ most anticipated openings is finally happening this year. In the summer of 2019, Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disneyland park. Guests will get to explore Black Spire Outpost, a busy spaceport on the planet Batuu. Two new attractions featuring beloved Star Wars characters will debut as well. “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run” lets you take the controls of the famous starship. “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” gives guests a front row seat to a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Pixar Pier Attractions

Ever since it’s debut in June of 2018, Pixar Pier has delighted guests with attractions from their favorite Disney-Pixar movies. This year two new attractions will cap the completion of the land. “Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind” and “Jessies Critter Carousel” will join the other family-friendly rides and the western end of the pier.

Get Your Ears On – A Mickey and Minnie Celebration

Finally, throughout both parks all year long with the “Get Your Ears On” celebration. New entertainment, decor, foods, and merchandise will help kick start this special celebration. In January a new nighttime projection and music show will debut at Disneyland. “Mickey’s Mix Magic” will create a fun dance-party atmosphere. Returning is the fan-favorite “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” – featuring a brand new opening.

Breaking News: Disney has Puchased an Additional 1,500+ Acres In Osceola County

In a report released by GrowthSpotter, it appears the descendants of Oren Brown have sold an additional 1500+ acres to the Disney Company. The deal that completed on January 3, 2019, reportedly cost $11 million dollars and is in addition to the 965-acre BK Ranch property in Celebration that Disney bought this past December for $23 million. Taking the recent total land purchases to roughly 2,500 acres at a total cost of $34 million.

Oren Brown was a cattle rancher and politician, he reportedly refused to allow his land to be sold as part of the original purchase for the then planned theme park. Ultimately his refusal to sell drove the purchase of the land where the Walt Disney World resort currently sits. Brown passed away in 1993. The original deal was for $4.2 million dollars.

The newly purchased land was a former cattle ranch and is located off the Old Tampa Highway in Osceola County next to the BK Ranch Property. The notable difference in price is due to the entitlement of the land. The BK Ranch property was originally planned for 3,000 homes as well as commercial space.

So just what is the plan for all of this land? While Disney has not released what they intend to do with this now over 2,500 acres the current purchase was being marketed for water conservation and wetland mitigation. It is not expected for the land to be developed. This was echoed by John Adams, who is a partner with the company charged with marketing the land, Central Florida Land Advisors. Interestingly enough, the new purchase runs right along the Sun Rail line.

Will Disney develop the land or leave it in its natural state? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

Walt Disney World is taking the purple portion theme to new heights after the success of the Purple Wall in the Magic Kingdom.

From spirit jerseys and mickey ears to desserts, WDW is purple, purple, purple!

The newest addition to the violet craze is the Purple Potion Mickey Ear cupcake spotted at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort. This cupcake is priced at $4.99 and it’s just as beautiful as expected.

The cupcake is made of a moist yellow cake base with delicious chocolate ears on top, candy crispy balls, and lots and lots of purple edible glitter-coated frosting. What’s the best part? This cupcake is FILLED with cotton candy!

Guests will be showcasing their purple finds all over social media because this color is just too pretty to keep under wraps. Other purple desserts have also been found at the Disney’s All-Star Resorts and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.

New Park Maps Debut at Hollywood Studios

New park maks debuted this week at Hollywood Studios. The new maps mark the official end of the holiday season in the parks, as the normal operations return. The map features Sheriff Woody in Toy Story Land.

The new Times Guide highlights the addition of the new Disney Junior Dance Party in Animation Courtyard. Missing are the seasonal nighttime shows, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam! and Sunset Seasons Greetings. They are once again replaced by the Disney Movie Magic projection show that returns for a limited time, prior to the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular nightly. Disney Movie Magic will be replaced later this year with Wonderful World of Animation, debuting on May 1, 2019.

No additions to the Pixar Place space, where the new Incredibles Celebration is set to debut on January 18th. Join everyone’s favorite superheroes and monsters at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as part of the 30 years of Hollywood Celebration for a super celebration with Pixar Friends.

Take a Bite of the Purple Potion Tart at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Purple Potion is showing up everywhere at the Disney Parks. From ears to clothing, to yummy bites, whether it is a deep shade or a lighter lavender purple is in the spotlight. Add this dreamy tart to your must-try Purple Potion treats! The short walk from the International Gateway entrance of Epcot to Disney’s Beach Club Resort is well worth the steps for this delectable, and darling tart. The Purple Potion Black Raspberry Tart looks almost too perfect to eat, but that won’t stop us from taking a bite.

This tart is filling features fresh flavors. Black-Raspberry lemon curd is cradled in the sweet sugar tart shell which is then topped with black raspberry mousse. Trimming the edge are waves of frosting and pearls making this treat fit for royalty. The crowning jewel is the adorable ears with just the right amount of sparkle.

This confection is in good company with other very photographable Purple Potion delights showing up all over the Disney Parks. Whether you are posing with it, taking a bite, or using a sunny backdrop you will want to snap this one for your social media feeds. While it might be too far to take the tart to the purple wall, throw on a Purple Potion spirit jersey and put yourself in the photo to show off the marble waves in the glaze.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! Debuts March 31st at Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland revealed today its newest Marvel attraction – Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle. Set to open March 31^st, it will be the first attraction featuring Ant-Man and The Wasp. It will also be the first Marvel attraction to feature a female Super Hero as the lead character.

As part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s multi-year expansion, this attraction will be the second Marvel attraction as part of the plan to be the ultimate hub for Marvel Super Heroes. Your mission for this new attraction: Join Ant-Man and The Wasp who need to help Iron Man defend Hong Kong against Hydra’s attack.

The mission begins visiting S.H.I.E.L.D. Science and Technology Pavilion located in Tomorrowland showcasing S.H.I.E.L.D.S latest technology developments. This routine visit is halted by Hydra trying to steal the Arc Reactor on top of Stark Tower in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Arnim Zola sends Swarmbots to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Pavilion to steal a Data Core filled with highly confidential information. Iron Man needs Ant-Man and The Wasp to help him protect the pavilion using their abilities to shrink down to destroy the bots from the inside.

Here’s where Ant-Man and The Wasp need your help, they cannot take on thousands of bots alone. Jump in the S.H.I.E.L.D.S. combat vehicle, D/AGR – the Defense/Assault Ground Rover (aka “the Dagger”). You will be issued an EMP Blaster to battle with Ant-Man and The Wasp to take down Zola and his Swarmbots.

“Ant-Man” star Paul Rudd and “The Wasp” star Evangeline Lilly are reprising their roles. Joining them is Christophe Beck, composer for the Ant-Man movies. Don’t miss the displays which feature research items and artifacts from the Marvel movies, tv shows, and comics.
