Get ready to get spooktacular with these amazing treats! Tomorrow begins the first of several Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties at Walt Disney World. Today, I am here to share all of the treats that ghouls and ghosts will be sinking their teeth into during the most magical Halloween celebration at the Magic Kingdom.

Not-So-Poison Apple Cupcake – Main Street Bakery

Magic mirror on the wall…show me the tastiest cupcake of them all! Snow White would definitely love to eat this spiced “apple” cupcake with pecan crunch and buttercream. This cupcake will be available daily and not just during the Halloween Party until Halloween!

Halloween Cinnamon Roll – Main Street Bakery

Zero invites you to Sleepy Hollow to try his Halloween-themed treat featuring pumpkin waffles, vanilla ice cream, sprinkles and a caramel drizzle. You can enjoy this treat at Halloween Parties only until October 1.

Jack Skellington Cake Pops – Sleep Hollow

Only guests attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party will be able to enjoy these pops. The cake pops feature layered chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream, white chocolate and dark chocolate crispy pearls, dark chocolate curls, and a white chocolate Jack Skellington piece. If there is an empty place inside those bones, then you should fill it with the Jack Skellington Cake Push Pop.

Madame Leota Dessert – Liberty Square Market

Dear, sweet Leota, beloved by all. In regions beyond now, but having a ball-shaped dessert. You don’t need a fortune teller to see this sweet treat in your future! The Madame Leota Dessert has a vanilla tart shell filled with toasted marshmallow pastry crème and topped with crispy pearls, chocolate, and a hard candy garnish. It is also only available during party nights.

Hitchhiking Ghosts Dessert – Aloha Isle

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Dessert Party Booking Now Available

The holiday season is quickly approaching at the Walt Disney World Resort. Shortly after the Halloween parties end, the Christmas celebrations will begin. This year’s Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Dessert Parties at Hollywood Studios are now available to book!

Guests can indulge in holiday inspired snacks, desserts and alcoholic beverages before watching Disney Movie Magic and Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! in a reserved viewing section. The menu will include the classic Yule log, cheese fondue with pretzel bread and Gingerbread martinis among other delicious offerings.

This year, the Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! dessert parties will begin on November 6th, 2018 and run through January 6th, 2019. Pricing is as follows:

November 6 to December 22, 2018: $79 per adult; $45 per child ages 3 to 9 (tax and gratuity included)
December 23, 2018 to January 1, 2019: $89 per adult; $49 per child ages 3 to 9 (tax and gratuity included)
January 2, 2019 to January 6, 2019: $79 per adult; $45 per child ages 3 to 9 (tax and gratuity included)

There are so many new Nightmare shirt, that we’re going to need Sandy Claws’ sack to carry them all! The shirts also have a lot of variation and creative design to them as well. There are no solid black tees with a simple Jack face in this collection, each shirt has unique design elements, detailed graphics, or a clever quote. There is a good variety for ghosts and ghouls of all ages too! One of my personal favorites is the deep blue Jack Skellington tee that has a cold shoulder silhouette style.

New Disneyland Resort Hotel On Hold After Tax Break Dispute with City

This past October, it was confirmed by Disney that a new luxury hotel would be built at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The new hotel would boast 700 rooms and be the fourth official Disneyland Resort Hotel. However, all these plans came to a screeching halt overnight over a $267 million tax break dispute and difference on where the hotel would be located.

In 2016 the Anaheim City Council agreed to offer Disneyland Resort tax subsidies for the new hotel. That was when Disney announced the hotel would be built on the north end of the Resort on the grounds of a current parking lot. At that time, Anaheim was offering builders of high-end hotels 70% of hotel occupancy taxes returned to them up to 20 years.

Then, when Disney confirmed plans for the hotel back in October, they also announced it would be moving the location of the hotel to the west end of the resort at Downtown Disney. Even though it’s only about a 1,000-foot difference in where Disney wanted the hotel in 2016 to it’s planned location 2017, Anaheim since ended the tax subsidies incentive. Plans that had already been approved were grandfathered in for the subsidies but Anaheim sees the new location of the proposed hotel as a completely different project now.

City of Anaheim Mayor, Tom Tait, had the following to say about the dispute, “It’s a matter of law, and legally the city cannot pay the subsidy because it’s a fundamentally different project. If Disney wants to build a luxury hotel they should build it with their own money.”

Yes, Disney can still build the hotel without the subsidies but it doesn’t think it should have to. David Ontko, Chief Counsel Resorts stated, “You have given us no other choice than to put construction of the hotel on indefinite hold as the resort reevaluates the economic viability of future hotel development in Anaheim.”

The new Disneyland Resort hotel was scheduled to open for guests in 2021. Now, it is uncertain when construction will even begin if at all. Several Downtown Disney businesses such as the AMC Movie Theater, Earl of Sandwich, ESPN Zone, and Rainforest Café have already closed in anticipation of the construction to begin on the hotel this past July which of course never came to fruition.

It’s so hard to believe that the Summer is winding down and the kids are heading back to school. (Mine already started two weeks ago!) Like all good things, they must come to an end and unfortunately, that applies to Pixar Fest at the Disneyland Resort and “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular.”

What was the creative inspiration for “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular”?
“Together Forever” is an ode to the heart of Pixar from Disneyland. It was important to capture what makes Pixar films unique and to show how they are driven by an emotional component that connects viewers to the characters.

How is “Together Forever” different from other nighttime spectaculars at Disneyland? How does it tell a story?
Pixar is known for its storytelling talents, and the story of this show depicts the ways in which friendships unfold in so many Pixar films. To communicate this in a multimedia fireworks spectacular, guests will see some of their favorite Pixar characters meeting for the first time, setting out on adventures, overcoming adversities, and, in the end, forging everlasting bonds – together.

How does the multimedia design heighten the excitement for guests?

Sebastian’s Bistro Coming to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Other Dining Changes

As the construction at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Old Port Royale begins to wrap up, we are learning more details about the changes coming to the dining areas.

When the reimagining is finished, the former Shutters table service restaurant will reopen with a new name – Sebastian’s Bistro. Sebastian’s Bistro will offer waterfront views and warm, island hospitality. The new menu will feature Latin and Caribbean infused flavors from market-fresh ingredients. When you arrive at the restaurant, you will think you stepped foot onto your favorite Caribbean island. Guests will be greeted by everyone’s favorite crustacean, Sebastian from “The Little Mermaid,” on a blue shiplap marquee.

Every detail designed for Sebastian’s Bistro celebrates the beauty of the Caribbean. Guests will take in coral patterns, kelp filigree, and lure-inspired deigns. You might also feel like you journeyed “under the sea” with abstract art featuring Sebastian and friends.

While Centertown Market will reopen with the same name, it will feature a larger space and new indoor street market vibe. Guests who enter the reimagined Centertown Market will do under an eye-catching papaya-like structure. The structure will be decorated with bright and colorful light pendants made from glass bottles. The design of the market will also feature open shutters, wooden light posts, awnings, ornamentation and unique seating areas. The Grab n’ Go market will also be open for guests to grab a quick cup of coffee and snacks on the run.

Worker Killed In Industrial Accident Near Walt Disney World

Shortly after midnight last night, authorities responded to an area near the Disney property, close to the Animal Kingdom park. Two workers were emptying grease byproduct into a vat from a tractor trailer. One of the workers slipped and fell into the vat. His co-worker attempted to rescue him but was unsuccessful. The 61 year old was overcome by fumes from the vat and passed away.

The Reedy Creek Fire Department assisted in retrieving the man’s body. His name has not yet been released.

A Disney representative said that the victim was employed by a Massachusetts based company called Harvest Power. They specialize in food waste conversion, turning it into biofuels, compost and fertilizer. Their Orlando location recycles organic waster for the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

Meredith Sorensen, Harvest Power spokeswoman stated, “This was a tragic accident. We’re all deeply saddened by the loss of this coworker. We are in shock and grief, and figuring out what happened.”

Authorities are still investigating.

This video was shot and streamed live today by #DisneyParksLive! And it is an amazing chance to see something very few people ever get to see – the sun coming up over Disney’s Animal Kingdom park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

There are some stunning shots of The Tree of Life, which can be found on Discovery Island. This is one of my favorite Disney landmarks. It stands an impressive 145 feet tall and is 50 feet wide at its base. The Tree of Life is also home to over 300 meticulously detailed animal carvings. You can find these animals throughout its massive trunk, roots and branches.
