Check Out The Bacon Macaroni And Cheese Flatbread At Magic Kingdom

Pinocchio Village Haus at Magic Kingdom is a great stop for some incredibly delicious flatbreads. Each month, they introduce their ‘Flatbread of the Month“. It’s always fun to see what they come up with! Currently, they have a tasty Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Flatbread!

The flatbread is covered in sour cream, macaroni and cheese, a three cheese blend, bacon bits and chives. Yummy!! It is priced at $11.99 and counts as one Quick Service credit on any Disney dining plan. I also love their Caprese Flatbread. It’s topped with tomatoes, basil and fresh Mozzarella cheese. So good!

They also have an extensive allergy menu that has offerings for gluten, wheat, egg, fish, shellfish, milk, peanut, tree nut and soy allergies.

Hurry by Pinocchio Village Haus to check out the Bacon Macaroni and Cheese Flatbread before it disappears! Pinocchio Village Haus is located in Fantasyland beside “it’s a small world” and across from Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.

Will Mickey’s Backyard BBQ Close at the End of the Year?

Mickey's Backyard BBQ

Mickey's Backyard BBQ

Disney internet has been all abuzz with rumors that one of the popular dining shows at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort will be closing. I have seen reports that Hoop-Dee-Doo is set to close along with Mickey’s Backyard BBQ. After doing some research, it does look like Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will close its doors for good at the end of the year.

If you look on the official Walt Disney World website, you can see there are dates scheduled for the country-themed dining experience throughout the month of December:

Will Mickey's Backyard BBQ Close at the End of the Year?

However, when you jump to January 2019, you can see there are no dates on the calendar:

Will Mickey's Backyard BBQ Close at the End of the Year?

So you may be wondering why Mickey’s Backyard BBQ may be closing. We think it has to do with the rumored new resort coming to the site where River Country used to be. The pavilion that hosts the BBQ is next door to the former site right where the new DVC resort is rumored to be built. Please keep in mind that neither the new resort or the closure of Mickey’s Backyard BBQ has been confirmed by Disney at this time. There are also online reports that the BBQ may move to a new location but again, nothing has been confirmed by Disney yet.

If you have never experienced Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, I highly suggest making reservations now! I refer to it as a hidden gem at Walt Disney World and always a must-do for my family!

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Chicken Guy! with Guy Fieri

Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri, and restaurateur, Robert Earl, along with Disney executives and very special guest, Chef Mickey Mouse, were at Chicken Guy! at Disney Springs today for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. On hand to officially welcome Chicken Guy! to the Disney Springs family were Matt Simon, Vice President of Disney Springs and Lisa Onopa, Director of Operating Participants Department, Walt Disney World Resort, and Brandon Peters, Walt Disney World Ambassador. Hundreds of guests were lined up in anticipation of the ceremony and were rewarded for their enthusiasm with a tasty treat, as Fieri and Earl handed out samples of their chicken tenders and the restaurant’s 22 signature sauces to the hungry crowd.

Growing up as a fan of all things Disney, I was absolutely stoked to be able to share a stage with Chef Mickey Mouse!,” Fieri said. “My partner, Robert Earl and I, wanted to bring an incredible chicken-forward concept to life and couldn’t be happier to have our first location be at Disney Springs.”

“This is such an exciting day for us, and we are so glad that you all came out and joined us!,” Earl said to the throngs of guests eagerly anticipating the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Are you all ready to try some amazing chicken?”

If all of that isn’t enough to satisfy, Chicken Guy! has two delicious Flavortown Frozen Treats that will make anyone’s sweet tooth stand up at attention! The Triple Double Ice Cream Treat, a large cup of deliciousness combining triple chocolate and double mint, that may cause a few cases of brain freeze; or the Cinnamon Apple, a heaping cup of vanilla soft serve ice cream smothered in Cinnamon Toast Crunch & Apple Jacks cereal.

Rivers of America Drained as Part of Liberty Square Riverboat Refurbishment

Liberty Square Riverboat

Liberty Square Riverboat

The Liberty Square Riverboat at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has been undergoing a refurbishment for about eight months now. Most of the work on the Riverboat has taken place “above water” until now.

Recently, some of the water in Rivers of America has been drained so the track for the Liberty Square Riverboat can be worked on. Check out the photos below to see what a portion of Rivers of America looks like currently:

While the Liberty Square Riverboat is not functional at this time, Tom Sawyer Island is still open for guests to enjoy as a barrier has been installed to make sure all of the water is not drained.

A reopening date has not been announced for the Liberty Square Riverboat but it should be reopened for guests to ride within the next few months. Make sure to keep it here with Chip & Co. for all the latest!

Disney Has Won Injunction Against Redbox For Selling Movie Codes

Disney Has Won Injunction Against Redbox

As of now Disney has won their injunction against Redbox for selling digital movie codes. As of now, those codes can no longer be sold separate from the Blu Ray or DVD they came with.

This has been an uphill battle for Disney but on Thursday a federal judge in California granted a motion for a preliminary injunction.

Almost a year ago Redbox, who operates DVD rental kiosks found in retail stores nationwide, began buying Disney Combo Packs, breaking them apart and selling the digital download codes at a reduced cost.  Disney filed a copyright lawsuit against Redbox at that time.

In February Redbox won their first go-round with Disney. U.S. District Court Judge Dean Pregerson sided with Redbox. He stated the issue the first sale doctrine, allowing someone who legally buys a copyrighted work to sell or dispose of that copy. Disney packaged stated “Codes are not for sale or transfer,” grating Disney power beyond what their copyright covered.

Since that decision Disney had changed the wording on Combo Pack. They have also changed the terms of use on the download sites. And now they’ve amended their complaint.  The first product to reflect this change is Black Panther. New language now states, “Digital code redemption requires prior acceptance of license terms and conditions,” “The digital code contained in this package may not be sold separately” and more.

According to Disney this is now an enforceable “clickwrap” agreement and it required affirmative assent. In response Redbox claims that an restrictions after purchase and not able to be enforced and that no contract was created at the time of the sale.

But this time the judge sided with Disney.

“It is undisputed that Redbox has actual knowledge of the redemption sites’ clickwrap terms, which do appear to create a restrictive license,” he writes.

Redbox continued to maintain their defense the Disney misused their copyright, but again, the judge did not agree.

New Character Dining Option Coming to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Disney's Wilderness Lodge

Disney's Wilderness Lodge

As we previously reported, rumors were circulating that a new character dining experience featuring Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs would be coming to Walt Disney World. Today, I am happy to report Disney has confirmed this news and the new character meal will debut at Artist Point in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.

Guests attending this new Storybook Dining option at Artist Point are invited into an Enchanted Forest-lie dining venue inspired by Walt Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” While not all of the Seven Dwarfs will be on hand for the new experience, guests can expect to visit with Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and even The Queen. Delightful music and other activities will bring the classic fairy tale to life.

New Character Dining Option Coming to Disney's Wilderness Lodge

The new dining experience at Artist Point will feature a prix fixe menu with shared appetizers, choice of individual plated entrees, and “sweet spells” to finish the meal.

While an exact date for Storybook Dining at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge’s Artist Point was not announced at this time, we do know that it is expected to being this winter. Keep following along with us here at Chip & Co. for the exact date and when reservations will open.
