Secret Menu Item: Galaxy Loaded Fries at Cosmic Ray’s

There is an incredible new secret menu item at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Lounge at Magic Kingdom. Fest your eyes on these Galaxy Loaded Fries! These crispy fries come topped with Bacon, Pico Relish, Garlic Ranch Sauce, Cheese Sauce, and Flaming Hot Cheese Dust. They have the perfect amount of savory and heat!

So what exactly is a secret menu item?

Secret menu items cannot be found on the regular menus, even the ones at the dining location. To order the Galaxy Loaded Fries and other secret dishes, simply pull up the mobile dining order feature on your My Disney Experience app. Choose your dining location, in this case Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Lounge.

Once you tap “Order Food”, you’ll find the “Build Your Order” page. Located right at the top is the Mobile Order Secret Menu! It even tells you right on the app that this menu item qualifies as a snack credit on your Disney dining plan.

Spooky Mummy Treats Are Unwrapping At Disneyland

Mickey’s Halloween Party is set to begin on September 19th the Halloween treats are beginning to arrive at Disneyland! We’ve seen fun Poison Apple Cake Pops, Spooky Cone Macarons and even Maleficient Churros. Now the mummies are coming out to hang with Mickey and the gang!

These Mummy crisped rice treats are available at The Penny Arcade on Main Street U.S.A. for $5.99. They come on a stick so they are the perfect treat to have while walking towards the castle. No sticky mummy hands.

While you are there, be sure to check out the Candy Kitchen. This is one of the best places at Disneyland for homemade sweet treats. Everything is made right there in the shop and guests love watching the process! They have everything from candies and chocolate bars to gooey caramel apples and sweet taffy. It is definitely a must stop for this writer!

This book was an exciting read that took me back to my childhood adventuring alongside Ariel. We get to see a side of Ariel that shows off why she’s a Disney Princess, with her bravery and determination. I enjoyed the alternate storytelling, and although Ariel is one of my favorites, the Disney Villains lover in me enjoyed seeing a little more of our favorite Sea Witch, Ursula.

New Food & Wine Tailgate Tasting Comes To Epcot Food & Wine Festival

Are you ready for some football? Or at least some football tailgating? This year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is helping us do it with some style by introducing a brand new Food & Wine Tailgate Tasting hosted by ESPN’s Monday Night Football!

This intriguing program will last 45 minutes and will pair tailgating-inspired food and beverages. Guests can enjoy a flight of three sample size food items inspired by the cities playing in the game each week along with three different beverages while learning from culinary experts about how to prepare these dishes.

The Food & Wine Tailgate Tasting will only be offered on select Mondays throughout the festival and is complimentary! It will run on September 17, 24 and October 1, 8 and 15 from 4:30-5:15 PM in the Festival Center. Guests wanting to attend will need to head over to the Festival Center starting at 9 AM on the Monday for that day’s seminar and pick up their wristband. Both wristbands and seating at the event are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Pricing Structure Change and Expansion Coming for Minnie Vans

More changes are coming to the Minnie Vans at Walt Disney Wolrd! We recently reported that the popular service was expanded to offer guests transportation to and from Orlando International Airport. Today, WDWMagic.com is reporting that Uber-like service will also be receiving a pricing structure overhaul and its service area expanded in the coming weeks.

Currently, it is a flat rate of $25 one-way to catch a ride in a Minnie Van anywhere on Disney property. The new pricing would do away with the flat fare and be based on distance – similar to how Uber and Lyft currently pricing works. It is not known at this time if there will be a base rate and then a per mile charge or if the entire ride will be based on mileage.

In addition to the pricing changes, it is reported that the Minnie Van service is being expanded to Bonnet Creek, Flamingo Crossing, and Hotel Plaza Boulevard Hotels. There are currently a few off-property hotels that already offer the service to their guests.

Parents of Toddler Killed By Alligator at Walt Disney World Welcome Newborn Son

The parents of Lane Thomas, the toddler who was tragically killed by an alligator at Disney World June of 2016, have announced that they have welcomed a newborn son. Matt and Melissa Graves announced on Wednesday the birth of Christian Lane Graves.

Lane and his family were enjoying an evening on the shoreline of The Grand Floridan Resort and Spa. Lane was playing in the sand on the beach area of the resort when an alligator appeared from the Seven Seas Lagoon and pulled him under. Lanes’ father, Matt Graves, jumped in to fight the gator off but was unsuccessful. Lane’s body was later recovered 16 hours later and his death was ruled an accident.

This tragedy brought some changes to the Walt Disney World Resort. Fences were added to the shorelines of resorts that were directly on a body of water and signs were installed advising guests that reptiles were present in the water around Disney World.

A lighthouse was chosen because it is the symbol of The Lane Thomas Foundation. The foundation was started by the Graves Family as a way for their son’s legacy to live on. The intent for the foundation to serve as a “beacon of hope” for other families in crisis. The family chose to use Lane’s first and last name because when anyone asked his name he always responded, “I’m Lane Thomas. I’m two.”

The Nutcracker Preview Coming to Disney Parks

If you are among the many people who are anticipating the arrival of “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms”, you will be thrilled to know that Disney Park guests will be able to catch a Nutcracker preview coming soon. Guests will soon be treated to a 12-minute preview of the upcoming film, “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms”. Beginning October 5th, for a limited time, guests of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts will be able to experience some of the magic of the classic ballet adapted for film.

At Disney California Adventure Park, the viewing will be located at the Sunset Showcase Theatre in Hollywood Land and presented in 3D. Walt Disney World guests can catch the preview at Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney Presents.

“The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” tells the story of Clara who finds herself in a strange world full of unique characters including a soldier named Philip, a gang of mice, and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Philip must venture to the Fourth Realm and face Mother Ginger, its ruling tyrant, to restore peace and harmony to the world once again.

You can catch the latest trailer for the film now. Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” will come to theatres in 3D on November 2, 2018.

Cast for New Season of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Announced

Get your dancing shoes on! A new season of “Dancing with the Stars” is waltzing its way into its next season, and the new celebrity cast is
adding some glitzy bling to their wardrobe, breaking in their dancing shoes and readying themselves for their first dance on the ballroom floor, as the season kicks off Monday, September 24 from 8 to 10 pm EDT, on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.

This season’s lineup of celebrity dancers includes an “American Idol” mentor, the first-ever blind contestant to take part in the show, an alumnus from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a Duke of Hazzard, an Olympic Gold medal-winning gymnast and a Bachelor Nation favorite, among others.

Review: WonderFall Flavors at The Polite Pig

It is the most wonderfall time of the year at The Polite Pig. Fall has descended upon Disney Springs with pumpkin spice and everything nice. To kick off autumn, Disney Springs introduced Wonderfall Flavors with incredible eats and drinks at select Disney Springs restaurants and bars from now until November 6th. So I headed for a downhome wonderfall pairing of Fall Harvest Tacos and an Apple Cider Whiskey Sour at The Polite Pig.

Fall Harvest Taco – $6 each ala carte

In just one bite of the Fall Harvest Taco, all the amazing flavors of autumn came shining through. A soft corn tortilla is filled with pumpkin-apple slaw, pepitas, apple cranberry-glazed smoked pork belly, and pickled onions. Since the tacos are ala carte, they are the perfect addition to any meal as well as excellent on their own.

Apple Cider Whiskey Sour – $12

Let me preface this by saying, I am not a fan of whiskey. I am now OBSESSED with the Apple Cider Whiskey Sour. I never thought I would ever say that about a whiskey-based cocktail. Straight rye whiskey comes together with apple cider, lemon, brown sugar, and cinnamon to create fall magically in a glass.

Overall Thoughts

Sure it may not “feel” like fall here in Walt Disney World where the average high is still 90 degrees, but the wonderfall inspired treats at the Polite Pig really hit the spot!
