Tricks, treats, and spirits galore await you on Disney’s Happiest Haunts Tour!

Grim grinning ghosts come out socialize. . .

Brace yourself for gripping tales of spooks and spirits from the nether realms… and beyond! Learn about Halloween legends and crypt-keeping creatures during this historical walking tour of the Disneyland Resort! Guests will be led from park to park on this 2.5-hour guided tour which explores Halloween by conjuring ghost stories, tricks, treats and even an encounter with one of the Haunted Mansion’s most familiar faces.

You’ll learn about the legends of various film and park poltergeists, pranksters and other creepy characters, as well as their creators. It’s frightfully delightful fun for the entire family you’ll never forget!

During the weekend, there are two times to choose from, 1 pm and 5 pm. The rest of the week, there is only one time available for the tour at 5 pm. When you call to book the tour, payment is due at time of booking and don’t forget to mention if you have an Annual Pass to get the discount. Keep in mind, Passholders have to be in attendance during the tour if you plan to use the discount.

Spaceship Earth to close early October 1 - 4

Spaceship Earth to close early October 1 – 4. The popular Spaceship Earth attraction at EPCOT will be closing each evening at 8:00 p.m. from October 1 through October 4 so that regular maintenance can be performed.

Earlier this month, Spaceship Earth was forced to close because of a water leak and a possible fire inside, to which the Reedy Creek Fire Department responded. Guests were evacuated, diverted away from the area and were given a bonus FastPass+ to enjoy elsewhere in the park that day.

Guests who have a FastPass+ time for 8:00 p.m. or later for the Spaceship Earth attraction will be offered an earlier FastPass+ time for Spaceship Earth or for a time to enjoy a different experience. The attraction is expected to resume normal operating hours on October 5.

Lucas Film makes a surprise announcement at Oculus Connect 5! Lucasfilm’s immersive entertainment division, ILMxLAB, divulged the title of their highly anticipated virtual reality project, Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, at Oculus Connect 5 in San Jose, CA. This is the first episode of what will be a three-part series, which is set to launch in 2019 on the recently announced Oculus Quest.

Vicki Dobbs Beck, ILMxLAB Executive in Charge, and David S. Goyer, award-winning Writer and Executive Producer, joined together onstage for the surprise reveal. In addition to the official series title, they announced ILMxLAB’s collaboration with Oculus and even shared the official teaser trailer to close out the keynote.

“We always look for opportunities to explore the Star Wars universe in new ways,” said Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm. “ILMxLAB is very excited to be working with David S. Goyer on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars experience which allows fans to travel to Darth Vader’s fiery, lava-ridden fortress and wield a lightsaber on his home turf.”

Montreal breakfast poutine at Le Cellier! Epcot has some of the best food in the world(get it haha) and the new breakfast for dinner offering at LeCellier is a savory delight you will definitely want to try. Fries topped with Canadian cheddar, Montreal smoked beef brisket, egg, and their special sauce “Sauce Choron.”

The whole dish is too good to be breakfast, so its perfect that it is served at dinner! Le Cellier is a fantastic place to grab a meal no matter the time of day. Check out some of their other poutine dishes:

Disney Spring Parking Garages will Feature New Technology

Disney Spring parking garages will feature new technology. Disney’s Reedy Creek Improvement District has recently filed a permit with Orange County to add new technology to their Disney Springs Parking garages.

In this permit from Indect Parking, Disney will be using cameras to record, track, and store your license plate number. The hope is to be able to help you remember where you parked and to track your visits to Disney Springs.

If you have been to the Orange or Lime parking garages you will see a system in place now that tracks how many open spaces are available per floor.

This new $2 Million Dollar system hopes to improve on that as well and provide details on when peak times are. I am guessing this will be used so Disney can have additional staff on hand at the various restaurants and shops in Disney Springs during those times.

The Halloween Dessert Trio Is A Delicious Taste of Fall

There’s one thing that is always for certain, and that is there will be delicious seasonal snacks at Disneyland! If you’re having trouble decided on which yummy treat to try, be sure to check out the Halloween Dessert Trio at the French Market Restaurant nestled in the middle of Disneyland’s New Orleans Square.

The spooktacular Halloween trio comes with Worms and Dirt, a Salted Caramel Pudding Cup and everyone’s fall favorite Pumpkin Pie. You can enjoy the savory Louisiana beef stew in a Mickey bread bowl, or any of the other savory offerings, but make sure to save room for the trio! Worms and Dirt is a classic dessert loved by all ages. This version is as chocolate cake with pudding inside, and a layer of cookie crumbs and gummy worm on the top. The Pumpkin Pie is simply classic, it has a buttery crust with a smooth filling, and is spiced just right. The salted caramel pudding gives us a touch of Disney theming, with a white chocolate Jack Skellington face.

The trio is just $7.99, which is a great value for such a large dessert plate. You can split this with your friends and family, or even sample each delicious treat for yourself. If the trio isn’t what you’re after, you can also check out the Mansion spider bundt cake for $7.99. This is a rich chocolate cake with icing and a chocolate spider piece. This yummy confection has a cream filling like the Hostess cupcakes of our youth.

Drop Off Time for Disney Springs Buses Has Changed

Drop off time for Disney Springs buses have changed as of September 30th! It was just announced that guests visiting Disney Springs from Walt Disney World Resorts will now have a 9am drop off time. The later drop off time change just took effect but the did say an earlier drop off time will still be an option on days that Typhoon Lagoon opens at 8am.

Getting to Disney Springs

Bus service from Disney Resort hotels begins 45 minutes before opening until 1:00 AM.
Return service to Disney Resort hotels ends at 2:00 AM.
One-way bus service from the 4 Disney theme parks operates daily from 4:00 PM until 11:00 PM or 2 hours after theme parks close, whichever is earlier.

Drop Off Time for Disney Springs Buses Has Changed

If you want to stay up to date with the bus schedules at Disney you can use the My Disney Experience app! “A brand new bus time feature in the My Disney Experience mobile app enables guests to spend less time waiting at the bus stop and more time getting ready for a fun-filled day in the parks. With this feature, guests can quickly discover up-to-the-minute estimates for when the next buses will depart from their Disney Resort hotel and when they will complete their journey to their destination.

The app regularly updates in real time to provide the most current estimates for buses heading to all four theme parks, two water parks and the Disney Springs area. Guests can access the feature throughout their stay by tapping “See Bus Times” when viewing an active Disney Resort hotel reservation associated with their account.”-Disney Parks Blog

The fans have spoken and for the fourth year in a row Universal’s Islands of Adventure has been been honored with the Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Award for Top Theme Park! It once again beat out the Magic Kingdom which finds itself at number two on the list.

Islands of Adventure is the home to the Hogsmead portion of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter which has been a fan favorite since it opened in 2010. In addition to the magical Harry Potter themed attractions Islands of Adventure hosts some of Universals most popular attractions including “The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man” “Jurassic Park River Adventure” and “The Incredible Hulk Coaster”. In an unprecedented move, the Walt Disney Company has announced that it will begin a program to offer tuition assistance to it’s U.S based cast members.

The new program, called Disney Aspire, will make it easier for cast members to achieve their educational goals. Open to all U.S based hourly cast members, Disney Aspire will offer assistance in a variety educational opportunities. Among the options for cast members high school equivalency (G.E.D) programs, vocational training, continuing education certificates and traditional degree programs will be eligible. Disney has stated that it will continue to add schools and programs to the available offerings over time.

In keeping with Disney’s commitment to providing a good quality of life for its cast members Disney Aspire is built with working adults in mind. The program will encourage cast members to pursue their dreams, no matter what they may be. One of the more groundbreaking aspects of the program will be that unlike many employer based tuition assistance, Disney Aspire will not limit the cast member to programs relating to their role at Disney. They are free to choose any educational goal they wish. This means that cast members working in entertainment could, if they wanted to, pursue a degree in

Following an initial investment of $50 million the program will have a yearly endowment of $25 million in dedicated funds to continue the program.
