New Information on Hip-Hop Experience!

Disneyland Paris has released further information on the Hip-Hop experience coming to Walt Disney Studios Park on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June 2019!

This event promises guests two unforgettable evenings with an explosive mix of music, dance, street art and more, all hosted in the magical Walt Disney Studios Park!

Featuring Hip-Hop and & R&B artists including DADJU, VEGEDREAM, BLACK M, KEBLACK, FRANGLISH, STILL FRESH, BLACK S.PRI and ABOU DEBEING will be present! And many more to be confirmed. The distribution of artists per evening will be revealed soon.

Hip-Hop dancers will also showcase their talent and pay tribute to the evolution of Hip-Hop through colourful performances ranging from mime to breakdance.

For the first time ever at Disneyland Paris, do not miss the Hip-Hop parade, as dancers and Disney Characters alike will party to the vibrant music of Hip-Hop! Prepare to live a spectacular moment!

Dave Smith, Disney Archives Founder Has Passed Away

In very sad news Dave Smith, Disney legend and Disney Archives founder has passed away at the age of 78.

Mr. Smith dedicated his nearly 40 year career at The Walt Disney Company to preserving Disney’s precious treasures from film, television, theme parks, and beyond.

Dave was named a Disney Legend in 2007 for his wide knowledge of the Company’s rich history, which he shared in books and through his popular magazine column “Ask Dave.”

“I’m deeply saddened to learn of Dave Smith’s passing,” said Bob Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “He was the unsung hero of Disney’s history who, as our first archivist, spent 40 years rescuing countless documents and artifacts from obscurity, investing endless hours restoring and preserving these priceless pieces of our legacy, and putting them in context to tell our story. Dave was a true Disney Legend, and we are indebted to him for building such an enduring, tangible connection to our past that continues to inspire our future.”

Dave will sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

The Disney FairyTales Pin Trading Event is Coming to Epcot

Pin trading has become a favorite activity for many visiting the Walt Disney World Resort since it kicked off during the Millenium celebration in 1999. Whether trading with Disney Cast Members or other pin trading enthusiasts the activity is a way to curate a unique collection of fun wearables. This August, you will have the opportunity to attend the Disney Fairy Tales Pin Trading Event at Epcot.

This is the event where all of the animals of Disney take center stage. From pets to forest dwellers to the imaginary this is your opportunity to trade pins focused on the beloved, magical or villainous animals of Disney. The event is scheduled to take place at Epcot in the World Showplace. From Friday, August 9 to Saturday, August 10, 2019, come to meet fellow Disney animal pin aficionados and get ready to make a trade.

One of my favorite things about Walt Disney World Resort is the new food offerings and I am very excited about the newest one! I think everyone is familiar with the concept of a create-your-own bowl meal. Personally, these are some of my favorites. (Wrap it in a burrito and it’s even better!) Disney’s All-Star Music Resort has composed a masterpiece with their new Create-Your-Own Southwest Bowls.

You can create your very own composition for lunch or dinner at this new station. The concept is really simple! First, you start with a Base and add one Protein. Next, you choose your Vegetables and apply your Sauce. Finally, a variety of House-made Toppings are added.

There is a total of 3 different bases from which you may choose: Cilantro-Lime Rice, Black Beans, and Pinto Beans. You have a choice of adding Slow-Roasted Adobo Pulled Pork, Braised Ancho-Rubbed Beef, Chili-Spiced Grilled Chicken or Plant-based Feisty Crumbles as your one protein. Your vegetable choices include Shredded Romaine, Sautéed Peppers and Onions, or Charred Corn Salsa. There are two sauces available – White Cheddar and Jalapeño Queso or Spicy Tomato Sauce. There is a multitude of toppings that you can use to craft your creation. These include Chipotle Dressing, House-made Roasted Tomato Salsa, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Citrus-Cilantro Sour Cream, Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese, Shredded Cheddar Cheese, and Plant Cheddar Shreds.

Singapore Fan Event for CAPTAIN MARVEL!

The CAPTAIN MARVEL cast greeted excited fans at a Marvel Studios’ CAPTAIN MARVEL event in Singapore today. The movie is just a few short weeks away from its U.S. theater debut on March 8^th.

Set in the 1990’s, this film follows the journey of Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson) as she becomes a powerful hero. Larson is joined by an all-star cast of notable Hollywood favorites: Samuel L. Jackson, Gemma Chan and Jude Law to name a few.

Three of the films stars, along with directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck greeted fans and posed for photos at the event.

The Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” story is by Nicole Perlman & Meg LeFauve and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck & Geneva Robertson-Dworet. The screenplay is by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck & Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

Hurricane Hanna’s Extending Hours

Plan on visiting Stormalong Bay on your next trip to Walt Disney World? Need a bite to eat, or something to sip on while lounging by the pool? You’re in luck! Hurricane Hanna’s is the place to be, and starting March 17th, it’s open even later.

The waterside bar and grill is currently open until 8 pm each night to accommodate the moonlight swimmers and beach-goers. After March 17th, you’ll be able to grab a Shipwreck Burger or Pork Nachos until 10 pm, and the bar will remain open until 11 pm each night.

Though pool hours can vary by season, Stormalong Bay is open till at least 8 pm, and as late as 11 pm during peak seasons. Stop by Hurricane Hanna’s as you stroll by the Yacht & Beach Club Resort.

During this time construction noise may be seen or heard throughout the resort, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9am.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn & Villas

We have embarked on creating a new transportation system, Disney Skyliner, which will give Guests a bird’s-eye view of Walt Disney World Resort while traveling via gondolas. During this time construction noise may be seen or heard throughout the resort, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9am.

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney Skyliner- Ongoing until further notice
We have embarked on creating a new transportation system, Disney Skyliner, which will give Guests a bird’s-eye view of Walt Disney World Resort while traveling via gondolas. During this time, multiple construction projects will be seen and heard throughout the resort, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00am.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

General Construction/Rooms Refurbishment- Ongoing until further notice
During this time, amenities including dining locations (such as the newly reimagined Rix Sports Bar and Grill) and merchandise locations, pools, La Vida Health Club with the spa and salon, and recreation activities such as beach volleyball, Iguana Arcade, Movies Under the Stars and more, will remain available. Please note that noise will be heard while our Resort is undergoing refurbishments, but noise should not be heard from Guest rooms prior to 9:00am daily.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

Hippy Dippy Pool- January 2020 – Early Spring 2020
The Hippy Dippy Pool is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment. During this time, Guests can use the Bowling Pool, Computer Pool and the kiddie pool. Also, Movies Under the Stars will be offered in an alternate location. Guests may notice construction noise while this refurbishment is underway, but the noise should not be heard from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00 AM.

Disney wraps production on Star Wars Episode 9

Disney has officially wrapped production on Star Wars Episode 9 according to JJ Abrams Instagram.

John Boyega posted this heartfelt message on his Instagram just a little while ago.

That’s a wrap on Star Wars episode 9 and the end to a chapter of my life that I couldn’t be more thankful for. What a process! It really has been a joy to be in these movies surrounded by amazing people. I personally want to thank @jjabramsofficial for giving me a chance to make my dreams come true.

Disney Takes Top Spot in Survey of Most “Intimate” Brands

According to a recent survey, consumers feel closer to the Disney brand than they do any other, even Apple Inc. This is surprising considering the Walt Disney Company is in the beginning stages of pulling its content from all existing streaming services to prepare for Disney+.

MBLM, a branding agency, conducted a survey and study of what is called “brand intimacy”. This study pegged Disney as #1 in terms of bond with its consumers. Closely following were Apple, Chevrolet, Harley-Davidson, Netflix, Sony Playstation, Chick-fil-A, Whole Foods, and Youtube.

According to Mario Natarelli, a managing partner at MBLM, “People are looking for ways to indulge in content and get away from the challenges around us.” He thinks Disney’s top spot shows that consumers are still interested in “escapism”.

Personally, I think another part of consumers feeling close to the Disney brand is the nostalgic and sentimental feelings it brings to both children and adults.
