Marvel Cinematic Universe’s new heroine, Captain Marvel, is coming to the immersive ScreenX, when it opens worldwide this Spring, in Los Angeles, CA. CJ 4DPLEX is the world’s leading cinema technology company. They announced on February 12 that Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is headed to the theaters in the ScreenX format on March 8, 2019.
This will be the third movie Marvel Studios has converted into ScreenX and the latest collaboration between The Walt Disney Studios and CJ 4DPLEX. The first two films were “Black Panther” and “Ant-Mana and The Wasp.”
ScreenX is the first multi-projection theatre technology giving a 270-degree panoramic movie watching experience in the world. It allows the audience to be further beyond the traditional framed movie screen and utilizes a proprietary system to the center image to the side walls. This will help the audience be submerged with imagery and provide a sense of you being inside the movie.
JongRyul Kim, CEO of CJ 4DPLEX says, “‘Captain Marvel’ is another great movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that continues to showcase the full potential of the ScreenX format by taking us on an otherworldly heroic journey…We are thrilled to team with The Walt Disney Studios and Marvel Studios to bring this inspiring new heroine to audiences in our newest cinematic experience.”
ScreenX is being installed in multiple auditoriums because of its huge success. In the past 12 months, they have had a 50% increase year-over-year and will nearly double with a recently announced expansion plan with Cineworld Group. They plan to open 100 locations across the U.S. and Europe.
