Chocolate Peanut Butter Churro Now at California Adventure Food & Wine Festival

The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival is currently underway at the Disneyland Resort, and it’s definitely a special time for foodies. The festival features the best in culinary offerings from across California and has become a popular event with resort guests. This year’s festivities are no exception and today we’ve got a look one small, but delicious treat from the lineup.

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Churro is one of the newest additions to the long list of Disney churros. The resort has been known for its variety and availability of the delicious sweet snack and we’ve seen many new takes on the classic churro form. For this year’s Food and Wine Festival, there’s a new chocolate and peanut butter concoction that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. It’s an all chocolate churro, covered in white sugar and then drizzled with chocolate icing and peanut butter cream. The churro is then topped off with chopped peanuts to give a nice added texture to the snack.

We loved this new churro and especially like that it forgoes the usual dipping sauce in favor of coating the churro for you! This makes it a much easier dish to carry around as you head to your next attraction. The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival takes place now until April 23, 2019. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Churro can be found at a cart next to Stage 17 and is available for $6.25. The churro can also be picked up using the Sip and Savor Pass available throughout the festival.

Dumbo Live Action to Feature “Baby Mine” Lullaby

Our heartstrings can hardly take it… Baby Mine has been included in the new “Live-Action” Dumbo coming out in just a few short weeks. The scene featuring the poignant lullaby “Baby Mine” was perhaps the most memorable moment in Disney’s 1941 classic film “Dumbo.” Serenading a touching moment between mother and son, the song featured music by composer Frank Churchill and lyrics by Ned Washington. “Baby Mine” was nominated for an Oscar® for best original song.

According to Mitchell Leib, president, music & soundtracks for Walt Disney Studios, he and the filmmakers wanted to create a version of “Baby Mine” for the end of Burton’s live-action reimagining that was as artistic and interesting as the film itself. “Not an easy ambition to accomplish,” says Leib. “Arcade Fire is an artist I’d pursued over the years—but this time I had Tim Burton! I pitched the idea to Tim and his producer Derek Frey, and it turned out Arcade Fire is one of Tim’s all-time favorite artists. The rest is history.”

We are only a few days away from the start of Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival. This yearly event transforms the park into a celebration of foliage and food to help ring in the Spring season. One of the most outstanding aspects of the festival is the amazing character topiaries placed throughout the park. Let’s take a look at this year’s displays!

Daisy is looking fabulous for this year’s festival, surrounded by star topiaries and a backdrop featuring Spaceship Earth.

It looks like Captain Hook has finally got Peter Pan right where he wants him! We all know Peter has a few tricks up his sleeve though, so I wouldn’t be too worried.

Anna and Elsa have returned for this year’s festivities, Let’s hope Elsa can keep her powers in check and the plants stay green!

It’s a big year for The Lion King. The Disney classic is not only celebrating its 25th anniversary, but fans are excitedly awaiting the premiere of the new live-action adaptation this summer. The topiaries are celebrating too with this fun, recreated scene.

We are so excited to see the Muppets among the Flower and Garden topiaries. There are two displays featuring the first couple of felt, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy!

This Lady and The Tramp topiary is adorable and has a great view of the park in the background.

One of guests favorite displays makes a return this year in the France pavilion. The wonderful Beauty and the Beast topiaries make for a magical photo opportunity with the sites of France in the background.

Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival takes place from March 6 to June 3, 2019. In addition to the topiaries, guest can enjoy 13 outdoor kitchens, workshops, presentations and concerts. The festival helps make Spring one of the best times to visit the park. Access to the festival is included in park admission.

New Seasonal Cupcake at Gasparilla Island Grill at the Grand Floridian Screams Spring

Next time you’re at Walt Disney World and looking for something new to try, hop on the monorail over to the Grand Floridian. There’s a new seasonal cupcake at Gasparilla Island Grill, and not only does it scream Spring, but it’s just as tasty too.

Boozy flavored cupcakes are more and more popular these days. Add this one to the list. This yummy cupcake is orange and champagne flavored with buttercream frosting. The top of the cupcake is in full bloom. Purple hyacinths, yellow tulips, and pink rose buttercream flowers, with green leaves piped between the Spring colors, cover the top. The orange and champagne remind me of a mimosa, but in a dessert form with frosting. I’ll take one to go, please!!

The seasonal cupcake priced at $5.99 is in the dessert case and qualifies as a snack credit for those guests using a dining plan. Sweet treats are a great use of snack credits if you’re looking for something yummy to try.

Gasparilla Island Grill is the quick service restaurant at The Grand Floridian and is open 24/7. Breakfast is served daily until 11:00 a.m. After breakfast made to order grill items are available until 11:30 p.m. Other options include burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and grab, n, go items. Lastly, desserts, like the scrumptious orange champagne seasonal cupcake are available too along with beer and wine.

New 2019 Disney Popcorn Bucket Spotted at Walt Disney World Resorts.

Calling all popcorn bucket lovers! A new 2019 Disney popcorn bucket has been spotted at the parks at Walt Disney World! This one isn’t as fancy as some of the buckets we have seen lately, I am looking at you Toy Story Alien bucket, but don’t count this one out! Personally, these buckets are great to purchase and take home for the kids to use. The other popcorn buckets are great as souvenirs that you put on a shelf, these are a great for those nights you are having those Disney withdrawals!

Complete with a lid to allow you to munch all day, this new 2019 Disney popcorn bucket is the perfect size to hog all to yourself or share with someone you love! This bucket also continues on with the theme we have been seeing by having a nod to “old school” Mickey as it features throw back Mickey and Minnie.

We are loving that Minnie is holding an Epcot balloon! Is this a sneak-peek, Disney?! More than likely no, but it isn’t a bad idea! In addition to Mickey and Minnie, we even see Pluto making an appearance on this new 2019 Disney popcorn bucket! Even Pluto is celebrating with Mickey and Minnie!

WonderGround Gallery Showcasing Artists in March at Downtown Disney.

Throughout the month of March, the WonderGround Gallery will be featuring seven artists in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort. What a fantastic way to showcase the amazing talents of these amazing artists.

Kicking off the month of March, WonderGround Gallery will be showcasing Jerrod Maruyama from March 2-3, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Maruyama is an illustrator who specializes in character design after studying at San Jose State University.

On March 8-9, 2019, WonderGround Gallery will be showecasing Jasmine Becket-Griffith from Celebration, Florida! Becket-Griffith is an acrylic painter who intertwines fairies, fantasy and the beauty of nature. Many fans will recognize her work as it appears in many books, magazines and merchandise lines. You can find this artists March 8, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and March 9, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Next up to the WonderGround Gallery Showcase is the graphic designer Jason Rattner. Rattner is originally from New York but is now a resident of Florida who is following his dream of being a Disney artist and is “loving every minute of it.” You can find Rattner March 16-17 and March 23-24, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Also visiting March 16-17, 2019 is artist Mcbiff, a.k.a David McNeley. Mcbiff is a self-taught artist from Huntington Beach who specializes in acrylic paint. Mcbiff is best known for his clean simplicity and hidden surprises in his paintings with American mid-century modern styles.

Rounding out the month for WonderGround Gallery is artist Ashley Taylor. Taylor is a local designer and illustrator who is best known for her Disney Doodles for the Disney parks Blog. Taylor has been inspired by legendary artists Mary Blair and Eyvind Earle. You can find this artist March 30-31, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition, the gallery will also be showcasing the Featured Artisan of the Month, Brittney Lee March 2-3, 2019 and March 23-24, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. Lee creates charming and effervescent characters that can leap into life. As a visual development artist, Lee is well-known for her work on “Frozen” and “Zootopia.”

From March 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, and 30-31 guests can also meet Artist in Residence, Aggie Cheung. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Cheung specializes in conceptual games and children’s book illustrations after earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in animation and illustration from San Jose State University. Guests can meet this artist at WonderGround Gallery from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The 2019 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival has begun and we were invited by Disney to preview all of the amazing food and merchandise for the event this year. Inside Studio 17 in Disney’s California Adventure we were taken in to see the new editions for this season.

First… let’s talk about the new Spirit Jersey and ears combo! The ears have a gold fork(dinglehopper) and spoon with a purple bow. Mickey adorns the ears too! They are also labeled with the Food and Wine logo. The matching Spirit Jersey has beautiful gold lettering that says “Perfect Match” with two wine glasses. It is the perfect match with the new ears!

The Spring Disney x Coach Collection Has Fully Launched

We took a peak at some of the new Spring Disney x Coach items starting to appear last month. Now the entire collection has fully debuted online, and there are so many fabulous Disney inspired pieces featuring Dumbo, Bambi, 101 Dalmations, Peter Pan, and Alice in Wonderland. There are also some contemporary Dumbo styles, which are perfect for the new Live Action film debuting later this month.

The collection is adorned with beautiful antiqued styles, vintage florals, and soft colors. There is even a men’s line available of leather backpack, hip packs and t-shirts.

The characters we did not check out last month were Peter Pan, and Alice in Wonderland. Both of these characters are featured on signature canvas bags, with glovetanned leather. What makes these beautiful bags stand out is that the graphics are actually high-luster sequins!

The Spring Disney x Coach Collection Has Fully Launched

The mens collection features deeper jewel tone colors of purple and green. This collection has backpacks, flight bags, and hippacks and features exterior zip and slip pockets for easy access to essentials.

Disney’s California Adventure Sip and Savor Pass for the Food and Wine Festival

Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival for 2019 has begun! One of the best parts of the festival is the Sip and Savor pass that allows you to try many items from the festival in small portions at an affordable price! This years pass allows you to select eight options of food or non-alcoholic beverages from any participating Marketplaces, Paradise Garden Grill and some of the Festival Food & Beverage Carts. The best part is you can use the pass the entire festival and come back to try new things each time.

The very first item I used my Sip and Savor pass for was the Chocolate Peanut Butter Churro. This all chocolate churro is rolled in white sugar, drizzled with warm peanut butter and chocolate, then topped with peanuts! This churro is located on a cart by Stage 17 in Disney’s California Adventure and you can purchase for $6.26 or use one of your Sip and Savor tabs.

The next item we tried was the Fried Artichokes with Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Lemon Aioli from the I Heart Artichokes booth. It was very good if you like artichokes and didn’t last in our group! We gobbled it right up.

For my “lunch” I tried the Impossible No “Meat” Ball Submarine with marinara sauce topped with soy cheese and served with kettle chips. It’s located in the Paradise Garden Grill along with several of the other new food options at the festival like the HUGE roasted Buffalo Style Tukey Leg on a bed of celery slaw. The “Impossible” burger was introduced as a vegan option for the festival this year. The “meat” is made from all-natural ingredients such as wheat, coconut oil, potatoes, and something called Heme. I was actually surprised how it tasted just like ground beef. The texture was even the same.

Our California based writer Eric tried the Beer-Battered Cod with Steak Fries and Spiced Remoulade. The cod itself was delish and crispy, but the fries were a little soggy. Just the perfect size to nibble on without getting full! We had so much more to try. The cod was also located at the Paradise Garden Grove and we used one of our tabs from the Sip and Savor to purchase.

Eric also tried the Harris Ranch Grilled Beef Tenderloin Slider with Chimichurri Sauce from Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo! A couple of bites and this was GONE! It was very flavorful and the perfect bite in between booths. (Hand model Eric)

I had a MAJOR sweet tooth and wanted to try the strawberry float with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and crunchy cereal on top(think Captain Crunch). I used one of my tabs at Berry Patch(previously known as Strawberry Patch) to purchase. I got three paper straws and we enjoyed sharing this treat while we walked around the festival. The berry drink was light and very fruity. It didn’t taste artificial as some of the floats I have had in the past. I didn’t taste a syrup flavor, it was all fruit!

The Deconstructed Teriyaki Chicken Musubi with Pineapple Relish from the Golden Dreams booth was mouthwateringly delish! We got two and are going to go back again this week for more! To wash it down we got the “Yippee! Mickey’s Cotton Candy Soda with Sprite, cotton candy syrup, half-rimmed buttercream with pineapple cotton candy garnish.

Back at Cluck-a-Doodle-Moo we grabbed the “Salt & Vinegar Parmesan Chicken Wings” and some of the best Watermelon Lemonade we have ever had. The wings were cooked perfectly and had just enough parmesan cheese seasoning to balance the salt & viegar flavor perfectly. We went back later in the evening for more wings but they had sold out for the night!

Berry Patch had more than just the delicious shake to offer! This Strawberry & Coconut Rice Frushi topped with Sweet Oikos Yogurt Wasabi sauce isn’t something I would normally try, but Eric tried it and loved it! It is cut into sushi size bites and is perfectly balanced with the toppings!

LA-Style was one of the last stops for these Asian-style Beef Barbacoa Tacos with Pickled Ginger on top! The tacos were perfectly cooked and tender. The Ginger was lightly pickled and not too overpowering.

Oh Boy, A New Mickey And Minnie’s Surprise Celebration Popcorn Bucket

Hip hip hooray, there’s a new refillable popcorn bucket available at Magic Kingdom! The new Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration Popcorn Bucket is an adorable design featuring Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto. This super adorable bucket also has lots of fun details representing the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks.

Mickey and Minnie are seen twice each on the bucket, each time with a joyful expression! Pluto is getting in on the celebration and blowing a party horn! Each of the four Walt Disney World Parks are also represented through different details. The castle of Magic Kingdom is made up of colorful blocks and presents. The Tower of Terror from Hollywood Studios makes it’s appearance as a delicious looking cake. Minnie is delighted as she holds a Spaceship Earth Balloon representing Epcot, and The Tree of Life is keeping things cool in the background.

I don’t know about you, but this popcorn bucket suddenly makes me really want Spaceship Earth Balloons to be a thing!
