Captain Marvel is officially opening on March 8. The Starbucks located in Disney Springs has the perfect drink to celebrate the premiere of this new movie. Fans will surely want to get a taste of this new creation and soon. The new drink is called Fury’s Frappuccino. Like all of the creations that originate from Starbucks, it is delicious!

This “Marvelous” drink starts with an iced Frappuccino. Both Cinnamon Dolce Syrup and Toffee Nut Syrup are added. It wouldn’t be a Frappuccino without the whipped cream and there is plenty of Cold Brew Whipped Cream added to the drink!

Take a look at this icy goodness in a cup! Doesn’t it look tasty? I can think of no better way to cool down in the hot Florida sun, can you?

If you are not a coffee fan, have no fear. You can also find Captain Marvel themed food at Disney Springs such as at The Ganachery or at other locations around Walt Disney World Resort.

Our Foodie Favorites From Flower and Garden Festival 2019

The 2019 Flower and Garden Festival is underway and we spent the entire day tasting our way through it. It was a tough job but someone had to do it. We are going to take you through our top picks of the festival and give you the low down on what you MUST try this year!

The first stop on our treck is the Yorkshire County Fish Shop for a Chicken and Mushroom Pie accompanied with Chips(Frech Fries) for $9.99! This is a yummy English meal that was delicious with a flakey crust and rich flavor inside.

For a little dessert, we grabbed Tropical Mousse Cake with layers of passion fruit cake, coconut mousse, and a tropical fruit glaze with fruit pineapple for $4.25. This fruity delight is found at La Isla Fresca. Another delish item you can grab while you are here is the Jamaican Braised Beef and the Sugar Cane Shrimp Skewer.

Growing up we always went to the county fair and had roasted corn dipped in butter! At Trowel & Trellis, you can get a grilled street corn on the cob for $5.50 and it is a great(yet messy) delight!

If you’re feeling a little spicy, salsa over to Jardin De Fiestas for a Damiana Flower Margarita, beef Tora, and Tres Leches! It was all soooo good! The Damiana is a Damiana flower liquor, black currant liqueur, vermouth, lime juice, and tonic for $10.50. The Tres Leches is a milk-soaked sponge cake topped with cajeta whipped cream and almond powder for $4.50. The beef Torta is a beef braised on a crispy sourdough roll with queso oaxaca, avocado, pickled onions, and jalapenos and spicy habaneros sauce for $6.50.

Next stop, China at the Lotus House! We tried some really good treats here! One of my favorite things to have when I go out for Chinese food is a spring roll… I have a new favorite now! The Veggie spring roll was so good. Better than I have had elsewhere and both are a good size for the $4.50 price. They are vegan-friendly too! We also tried the Szechuan spicy red-braised beef shank over white rice which sells for $8.00 and the house-made crab and cheese wontons for $6.00.

For some American flavor, we went to “The Smokehouse BBQ and Brews” for a Pulled Pig Slider served with Coleslaw for $6.75, a Beef Brisket Burnt End and Smoked Pork Belly Slider for $7.50, and t wash it all down we tried a beer flight featuring three different types of brews!

There are so many options for delicious food and drink at the lower and Garden Festival this year we will go back soon to try even more! Keep an eye out for more of our favorites very soon!

Height Requirements for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Attractions

We broke the news earlier today that an opening date for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been released! This new interactive land will be opening in two phases. Phase 1 will allow guests to pilot the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Guests will be fully immersed with out of this galaxy food, drinks, and shops. Phase 1 opens at Disneyland Resort on May 31 and Walt Disney World Resort on August 29. The opening of Phase 2 will be announced at a later date. Phase 2 will see the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Those planning their visit to a galaxy far, far away may be interested in the height requirements of the new attractions.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run: Guests must be at least 38 inches.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: Guests must be at least 40 inches.

Want any young Padawans to be disappointed, we do not!

Also, important to note is that FASTPASS service will not initially be offered for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. This includes access via Disney MaxPass (Disneyland Park) and Disney FastPass+ (Disney’s Hollywood Studios).

Those visiting the Disneyland Park location between May 31 and June 23, 2019, will need valid theme park admission. Disneyland Park guests will be required to make a no-cost reservation, subject to availability, to access the land. No such reservation system will be offered at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, however unlike its counterpart, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be included in Extra Magic Hours.

A no spoiler look at Captain Marvel

Higher, further, faster! The Captain Marvel press preview was held in Century City this past weekend and we were on hand to watch the girl power-fueled film! With the DC universe release of Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel had a lot to live up to as the first female-led movie from Marvel Studios. Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.

The cast chemistry is amazing and we feel a strong connection to the plot right from scene one. This isn’t like your original origin story. It is an action filled blast from the past set to 90’s hit rock anthems that fit with the storyline perfectly.

One of the standout elements of Captain Marvel ’s was the “de-aging” of Nick Fury and Phil Coulson, seen running through the 1990s during their pre-Avengers-assembling days. To achieve the believable throwback, both 69-year-old Samuel L. Jackson and 56-year-old Clark Gregg were digitally “de-aged” about 20 to 30 years in order to appear as their younger selves. Marvel has been toying around with this technique for years, but only now do the various scenes play like incremental, visual experiments that built towards Captain Marvel’s feature-length use.

About that music… Anyone who was a teen in the 90’s can really appreciate this soundtrack. Salt-N-Pepa – ‘Whatta Man’, Elastica – ‘Connection’, ‘Only Happy When It Rains’- Garbage, and so much more! Ryan Fleck who co-wrote and co-directed the movie said, “it was…very much a collaboration with Kevin and the whole, the whole team at Marvel, to figure out which songs really worked the best.”

Clark Gregg (Coulson) mentioned in the sane press junket, “It was so incredibly fun to do. And I’ve gotten the thrill of taking my young daughter to a bunch on Marvel movies, but I’m taking a q7 year old young woman to see Captain Marvel next week and I’ve never been more excited to take her to anything ever.” Anna Boden who is also the co-writer and co-director of the film revealed, “The set got very, very quiet and respectful whenever Reggie (the cat who played Goose) came on and actors were like, how come we don’t get this respect?”

Finally, you need to see this girl-power fueled film and take the whole family. You won’t be bored. There is action and an amazing story just like you would expect from any Marvel Universe movie.

Don’t forget to stay for the end credits. There are two end credit scenes that are really worth waiting for. It comes out in the US on March 8th!

James Gunn’s Brother Comments on Future of Guardians of The Galaxy 3

Guardians of The Galaxy has been a major hit franchise for Disney and Marvel. The first two films were critical and box office successes due in no small part to their writer/director James Gunn. The visionary filmmaker was the creative driving force behind the development of the superhero series. That all came to end last year when Gunn was fired from his position at the helm of the Guardians films due to the resurfacing of old offensive tweets. Consequently, production of the third installment was halted with no word on who would be taking over for Gunn.

Now in an interview with Variety, James Gunn’s brother, and Guardians of The Galaxy actor Sean Gunn says not to worry about the future of the film. When asked how things are going to move forward without his brother he said, “I don’t know exactly how that’s all gonna work, but I feel like we are going to make the third movie, I’m excited to make it, I think it’s a disservice to the fans if we didn’t make it and I know the people who worked on the ‘Guardians’ movies are really a family, and we’re gonna come together and make the best movie we can regardless of who’s in charge.”

While there is still no official word on if and when production on Guardians of The Galaxy 3 will begin, it’s expected that Disney and Marvel will find a replacement sooner rather than later. With a Guardians ride already running in Disneyland and a new coaster coming to Epcot, the company doesn’t seem ready to give up on the characters and their further adventures any time soon.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Ride Wont Open With Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Ride won’t Open With Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge! Disney just shared some amazing news! The opening Dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for Disneyland on May 31st, and Walt Disney World on August 29th! Both dates are substantially earlier than previously forecast. We are very excited and have begun booking our travel plans already.

Point to mention is that they also announced that the opening will roll out in two phases. Phase one will allow guests to live their own journey through the Star Wars story as you pilot the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! Enjoy out of this galaxy food and drinks while being fully immersed in the merchants and shops around you.

Phase two will be opening later this year for both parks. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance a fully immersive battle between the First Order and the Resistance will make its debut later int he year as part of the second roll out.

Another note, guests who wish to visit the Disneyland location will need to book a no charge reservation online to visit the land through the Disneyland.com website. Information on how to book that will come at a later date. Guests staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel will receive designated reservation access to the new land as well. This will not be required for the Walt Disney World location. We can only guess it is due to the size comparison between the two Disney locations. Disneyland being much smaller.

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Opening Date Announced

It’s here!! It’s the announcement you all have been waiting for. It’s officially time to get ready to experience all Batuu has to offer. The highly anticipated opening date of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now known. As expected, the opening date was revealed at the Walt Disney Company’s Annual Shareholder Meeting earlier today. So, without further ado here are the details of what was announced at the meeting.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland will open: May 31, 2019

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World will open: August 29, 2019

Disney’s top executive, CEO Bob Iger made the announcement during the meeting. Those attending the meeting responded to the announcement with all of the excitement and fanfare you would expect.

There is a two-phase opening, so not all attractions will open immediately. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open at a later date.

If you plan on visiting the opening at Disneyland you will need valid theme park admission and a no-cost reservation, to access the land. The reservation is subject to availability. The reservation is required for those visiting between May 31st and June 23rd. Reservations are limited to one entrance admission per guest.

The opening at Walt Disney World will not require a reservation, but guests will need valid theme park admission. Keep in mind, Entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios will be limited by capacity. This area of the park will be included in extra magic hours for Walt Disney World Resort Guests.

The Black Spire Outpost on Batuu will be immersive and offer an experience like no other. Opening with two feature attractions. Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run will give riders the opportunity to be in the driver’s seat of the Millenium Falcon, while Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will put guests in a battle of epic proportions.

Stop for a beverage or bite at Oga’s Cantina. For something a little more filling Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is expected to offer a unique experience with some shall we say exotic ingredients.

And don’t forget to stop and shop. Galaxy’s Edge will feature shops and other locations filled with all things Star Wars.

‘The Further Adventures of Walt’s Frozen Head’ Set for Online Premiere

You may have heard the old urban legend that Walt Disney had his head frozen in cryogenics upon his death, in hopes that future technology would be able to bring him back. As far fetched as the story seems, it has prevailed through history and become a bit of a joke amongst Disney fans. Now a new independent film is premiering online that explores the premise that Walt’s frozen head does exist and what he would have to say about the current state of his legacy.

The Further Adventures of Walt’s Frozen head is a feature film shot and produced in Orlando, with many scenes taking place in Walt Disney World. The film was made covertly, without the knowledge or approval of the Walt Disney Company or the Disney family. This means that the scenes filmed in Walt Disney World were done covertly in a guerilla filmmaking style. The film follows the story of a low-level Castmember who comes across Walt’s frozen head and kidnaps him for a day at The Magic Kingdom.

The filmmakers weren’t able to find distributors for the movie due to it’s topic and unconventional production. “Traditional distributors we talked to were worried about the film’s content. They didn’t want to take the risk” said Benjamin Lancaster, the film’s writer and director. He went on to say “We’ve had a lot of discussions and at the end of the day we decided that this is a film for the fans, and we wanted to make it as easy for them to watch it as possible.” The film is set to make its online premiere on Youtube on March 14, at 8:30 PM EST at: https://youtu.be/cj0qwTmn0Ic
