Magic Kingdoms Cinderella Castle Moat Update

There has been ongoing construction at Magic Kingdom Park on the pathways leading to Cinderella Castle. The pathway connecting Fantasyland to Tomorrowland was recently reopened after being widened. Now that this pathway has been improved, the path connecting Fantasyland to Liberty Square near Sleepy Hallow will have work done to it. Once the pathways have been widened the bottlenecking that normally occurs in these locations should subside.

On March 20 we reported that the moat around Cinderella Castle was being drained in order to work on the projecting widening the Fantasyland to Liberty Square path. As you can see in the photos, the moat has been drained.

The draining of the moat has actually been quite extensive.

There has been a dam set up on the Tomorrowland side of the park near Cosmic Rays. For those not familiar with Magic Kingdom Park, if you are looking at Cinderella Castle, the area where the dam is staged is to the right of the castle. The pathway which is being widened is located to the left.

Hopefully, this path widening project will not take too long to complete, although it is quite interesting to see this area without any water. I think most prefer the moats to be filled with water! Make sure to keep checking back for updates to the moat and construction.

Actress Charlize Theron visited the new Jessie’s Critter Carousel at Disney California Adventure Park. Theron played Ravenna, the evil queen in Snow White and the Huntsman in 2012. She visited the park with her family and stopped to get a photo in front of the new ride just opened at the park.

Yeehaw! Jessie’s Critter Carousel is now open in Disney California Adventure! Saddle up for a ride on this reimagined carousel located in Pixar Pier. This whimsical ride was inspired by the vintage show Woody’s Roundup from Toy Story 2. Jessie’s Critter Carousel is located in Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park, right next to the entrance of the Incredicoaster. This whimsical ride is great for guests of all ages!

Disneynature Marks 10 Years with New Video; “Penguins” Opens in 10 Days

For 10 years, Disneynature has transported moviegoers around the world and under the sea, showcasing an array of animals that have touched the hearts of millions. A mama bear treks through snowy Alaskan terrain on a mission to feed her new spring cubs. A tiny orphaned chimpanzee is adopted by the most unlikely member of his extended family. A panda bear cub tests her boundaries—and her watchful mother. And a clueless-but-captivating first-time father penguin finds his way among millions of fellow penguins. Indeed, as Disneynature marks a decade since its first feature-film debut, its newest film, “Penguins,” begins its 10-day countdown till opening day—just in time for Earth Day.

Opening in theaters and in IMAX® on April 17, “Penguins” is a coming-of-age story narrated by Ed Helms (“The Office,” “The Hangover” trilogy,”The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”) about an Adélie penguin named Steve who’s on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. None of it comes easily for him, especially considering he’s targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals, who unapologetically threaten his happily ever after. “Penguins” continues Disneynature’s conservation tradition: for every ticket sold opening week (April 17-23, 2019), Disneynature will make a donation to the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) to help protect penguins across the southern hemisphere.

According to Paul Baribault, vice president of Disneynature, the commitment to conservation is a key pillar of the label, and the films empower the audience to help make a difference. “Each film inspires a new conservation initiative, ranging from planting millions of trees in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest to the establishment of new marine protected areas, wild chimpanzee habitats and wildlife corridors, plus many more projects benefiting countless species,” said Baribault. “This 10-year milestone celebrates our commitment to working with the best nature filmmakers and premiere conservation organizations to not only inspire audiences to care about our natural world, but to make a direct impact through these programs.”

Disneyland Guests Will Be Given Bathroom Passes For Long Lines At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Disneyland Guests Will Be Given Bathroom Passes For Long Lines At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You can check the date of this article, but you read that right and it is not an April Fools Day joke.

According to People.com, Disney has announced a system is being put in place to offer guests bathroom passes so they may be able to step out of line to use the bathroom while waiting in the long lines expected at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Disney has also stated there will be planned entertainment through Cast Performances, Interactive activities such as Disney Trivia, and via the Play Disney Parks app, all themed around the Star Wars franchise. There will also be beverages and snacks available for purchase while waiting in the long lines.

Though guests attending the opening of the new land at Disneyland on May 31st will require a reservation through their stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel in order to even visit Galaxy’s Edge, the lines are expected to set unprecidented records for wait times in Disney Parks history.

Disney has yet to say how they plan on implimenting this system during the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but have stated that this is not a new procedure, and claim to accomodate a guests need to leave a line for any reason, at any time, year round. With the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in August 2019 we may see similar plans and activities being implimented during the opening of the new land at Walt Disney World Resort.

Camel Near The Magic Carpets Of Aladdin Is Missing

Everyone who has visited Magic Kingdom Park is familiar with the camel. When making your way through Adventureland from Sunshine Tree Terrace to The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Guests find themselves face to face with the camel. This is the camel that spits on you as you walk by it. (Or am I just that unlucky? I swear it gets me every time!) Guests looking forward to wandering through Adventureland and having this experience are going to be disappointed. Today it was discovered that our camel friend is missing!

Where has the camel gone? Perhaps the camel has boarded a magic carpet and is discovering a whole new world of people to spit on when they least expect it! While this would be really interesting, it is most likely undergoing a refurbishment of some sort or will be permanently removed from the area. It is still showing on the map in the My Disney Experience app so who knows?
