Purchase an Awesome or Awesome Annual Pass during the four-day sale to receive 15 months of unlimited admission to LEGOLAND Florida theme park and LEGOLAND Water Park, unlimited visits to annual events, discounts on guest tickets and more.

It’s a Small World Lit Up For Christmas Around the World

It’s a Small World ride at Disneyland is twinkling brightly celebrating cultures from around the world. Thousands of lights twinkle and flash all over the exterior of the ride while the traditional “Small World” music has had a holiday update. As you flow through the different lands you see the holidays from all around the world infused in every part of the ride.

The Fantasyland ride is one of my favorite places to visit at Disneyland(not so much at Walt Disney World). The boat ride starts from outside and as you float through you will find your favorite Disney and Pixar friends throughout the different lands greeting you from their native land. If you look above you will even find Peter Pan and Tink circling above.

Disney Parks Holiday Transformation Special Coming to Television

If their is one thing Disney Park Fans love its a sneak peek at how the magic is made, especially around the holidays.

Every year Disney dazzles guests with gorgeous holiday decorations in their theme parks. With twinkling lights, garland and wreathes strung across the buildings and attractions, and who can say the view of Cinderella’s Castle and Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, dripping with ‘icicles’, doesn’t absolutely take your breath away.

If you have ever wondered “How do they do it?” you are in luck. WESH 2 News, a Central Florida based news station, will be airing a special on the warehouses where the Disney holiday decorations are created, maintained, and stored until they are put up in the Disney Parks.

Disney Receives Honors From AZA

The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) recently honored Disney Parks during its recent Seattle conference.

Both the Animal Kingdom and The Seas With Nemo and Friends at EPCOT were recognized by AZA recognized for their conservation efforts awarding them the William G. Conway International Conservation Award. This prestigious award is given to organizations who make great strides in habitat preservation, species restoration and biodiversity in the wild through the Disney Conservation Fund.

Dr. Mark Penning, vice president of Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment said of the award, “As we continue to recognize the 20th anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we have great pride in the DCF and its success in saving wildlife, inspiring action and protecting the planet. Through the fund and the talented Cast of the DCF and ASE, we have supported a diverse range of conservation projects around the world, protecting more than 400 species and habitats.”

Dr. Penning was also honored personally at the conference when he became the third ever Disney executive to be appointed to the AZA Board of Directors.

Significant Achievement awards were also presented to Disney for their continued support of conservation projects helping save okapis and lowland tapirs in the wild.

Christmas and Charity Events at Disneyland Paris!

The most magical time of year is coming to Disneyland Paris. To celebrate, Disneyland Paris is hosting organisations benefitting children and families throughout the weekend to celebrate the holiday season. Disneyland Paris invited children to take part in experiencing a unique cooking workshop with the famous French Chef Pierre Hermé as well as taking part in celebrating Mickey’s birthday and #ShareYourEars.

For the third year in a row, Disney is supporting Make-A-Wish charity, by inviting fans to share their Mickey Mouse ears on social media until 27th November by quoting #ShareYourEars. By sharing your ears, Disney will donate $5 dollars up to a total of $2 million to Make-A-Wish charity. Currently, Make-A-Wish has granted more than 10,000 Disney-related wishes every year and this number continues to grow.

As part of Mickey’s 90th birthday celebration, Disneyland Paris hosted two exclusive workshops for Make-A-Wish children visiting the resort over the weekend. The legendary French pastry chef Pierre Hermé ran two cooking workshops for the children, giving them the opportunity to recreate his “Mickey Zest Party” patisserie, which he created especially for Mickey’s birthday! Guests can find this patisserie in the park. Disneyland Paris reported Pierre Hermé saying, “I’m so pleased to share the joy of cooking this fun and tasty dessert with the remarkable children from Make-A-Wish. The Mickey Zest Party patisserie is a celebration of flavours, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the holiday season than to share this experience with these kids”. Alongside this, Make-A-Wish children and their families also participated in a workshop to customise their own Mickey Mouse ears for the #ShareYourEars campaign.

Since the opening of the resort in 1992, Disneyland Paris has been dedicated to granting wishes and dreams for children with life-threatening illnesses through the Disney Wish Program. By granting a wish, this brings hope, magic and joy to the children and their families. More than 18,000 wishes have been granted since Disneyland Paris opening.

Finally, throughout the year, Disneyland Paris organises Solidarity days for children and families in need of exceptional moments. This weekend, 130 children and their families from the French Red Cross, Emmaus France and Fondation d’Auteuil spent the day at Disneyland Paris. Together they celebrated Mickey’s 90th birthday and experienced holiday offering at the parks! Director Philanthropy, Corporate Social Responsibility & Citizen affairs Mireille Smeets said “It is essential for Disneyland Paris to bring happiness, joy and inspiration to children and their families, and to work together with the surrounding community in order to share this spirit. Disneyland Paris’ community engagement efforts leverage the inspiring power of Disney to bring families together”.

We recently visited Epcot to see the Festival’s food and beverage offering and couldn’t pass the opportunity to try the Maple Buche de Noel! Beautifully crafted with an abundance of flavors that complimented each other and danced on our palate.

We also couldn’t wait to sink our teeth into the rich and chocolaty Gold Chocolate-Chip Cookie that would go well with a nice cup of coffee.

For guests who like to “Drink Around the World” there is also a special Blueberry Banjo Frosty available during this holiday season, with a non-alcoholic option available as well, called the Blueberry Slushy.

The Haunted Mansion is not only my favorite Disney Attraction, but it was the very first Disney ride I ever went on! So when I think about Disney, the Haunted Mansion is always one of my favorite memories. This Home is Where The Haunted Mansion is T-Shirt definitely sums up the nostalgia many of us have for this iconic ride.

Disney Celebrates the Season of Giving by Serving This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to come together with friends and family to feast and give thanks for what we hold most dear. Sadly, for many in this country, that is an opportunity that isn’t readily available due to homelessness. In that spirit, Thanksgiving is also a time to come together to support those who are less fortunate making it truly a season of giving. More than a fancy meal, Thanksgiving is a time to give back to our communities.

In keeping with their long-standing tradition of giving back, Disney Parks will be doing their part. On Thanksgiving, Chef Lenny DeGeorge (culinary director at Disney’s Animal Kingdom) together with his culinary team will prepare the traditional Thanksgiving feast and a team of VoluntEARS will serve the meal to more than 700 residents at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

Disney’s relationship with the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is not a new one. In fact, Walt Disney Worlds food and beverage teams have been serving meals at the Coalition twice a month for the last 20 years. The belief in a strong community is a central value of the Walt Disney Company and they continually show this by their VoluntEARS work and charitable donations in local communities nationwide.

In honor of the holiday and the season of giving, Disney Kitchens has shared one of its favorite holiday recipes – a Sweet Potato Casserole – with us. We know what we will be bringing to our family potluck this year!

Las Posadas Holiday Kitchen at EPCOT is serving up great authentic Mexican food this holiday season. It’s part of EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays with a dish that will have you coming back for more!

The Enchilada de Pollo con Mole is made with chipotle chicken. The chicken is tucked into a corn tortilla, which is topped with Mole Negro. The enchilada is then garnished with shredded Oaxaca cheese and sesame seeds. Yum!

The amazing dish is one of Disney Food Blog’s Festival Winners for the 2018 Holiday Kitchens at the International Festival of the Holidays.

Shanghai Disney Resort Celebrate Mickey and Minnie Like Only They Can

On November 8th the world celebrated the birthday of one Mickey Mouse! This was no different at Shanghai Disney Resort who went all out to show their love and gratitude for the “mouse that started it all!” With activities across the city, Mickey (and Minnie too) were celebrated throughout China. Fireworks, shows, treats, and fans marked the 90th birthday of Mickey and Minnie…culminating in a fireworks spectacular held at Shanghai Disney Resort. Here’s a glimpse at the fun!

Happy Birthday From the Shanghai International Marathon

Mickey and Minnie were treated to a special treat to start their day. 30,000 runners from all over the world gathered to compete in the Shanghai International Marathon, one of China’s largest sporting events. The mousy couple cheered on runners as they cast their “Happy Birthday” wishes at the duo!

Celebrations at Shanghai Disney Resort

After the race…Mickey and Minnie headed back to Shangai Disney where (as the sun went down) they were treated to a special appearance by Goofy, Donald, and Pluto who were all sporting gifts for the two. Just in front of the Enchanted Storybook Castle, guests say an impromptu “Happy Birthday” to the pair. Thousands attended and belted the tune to commemorate 90 years of magic!

Some Very Special Guests

Some of the guests singing “Happy Birthday” to our favorite mice included hand-picked contest winners who received a special opportunity. Winners of the “Birthday Card for Mickey” campaign, a program coordinated by Disney, the Shanghai Adream Foundation, and China Eastern Airline, presented their personalized and hand-crafted birthday cards to Mickey himself.

Culminating With Special Fireworks

No evening at a Disney park would be complete without fireworks…especially when celebrating Mickey and Minnie’s birthday. Guests settled in for a original projection show followed by Ignite A Dream – A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light at the Enchanted Storybook Castle.

It was surely a day to remember as the world celebrated both Mickey and Minnie and their 90 years. Shanghai did their part by hosting guests for a magical experience that they’ll be sure to remember for the rest of their lives. We only wish that we could have experienced Mickey’s birthday at every park! Can’t be two places at one time though!
