We learned so much today about the future of Star Wars from Star Wars Celebration in Chicago! The new trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and details about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge too! Today, Director/Writer J.J. Abrams and Producer Kathleen Kennedy were joined by stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Kelly Marie Tran, Oscar Isaac, Billy Dee Williams, Naomi Ackie, Joonas Suotamo and Anthony Daniels, and droids BB-8 and D-0, for a panel discussion at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, moderated by Stephen Colbert. It was a day of surprises at Star Wars Celebration for the enthusiastic fans in attendance as the title of the final installment of the Skywalker saga was also revealed, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and along with the first trailer for the film a brand-new teaser poster!

Bob Iger Announces His Plans to Step Down As CEO

Bob Iger has said he is definitely stepping down from his role as CEO in 2021. During the Disney investor day presentation he made the big announcement.

“I’m expecting my contract to expire at the end of 2021,” Iger said Thursday during Disney’s investor day presentations. “And I was going to say ‘and this time I mean it,’ but I’ve said it before. I’ve been CEO since October of 2005 and as I’ve said many times, there’s a time for everything and 2021 will be the time for me to finally step down.”
Iger has extended his contract with Disney twice during his tenure. Once in 2018 and then through 2021, but it was contingent on the Fox deal closing. Since that merger has wrapped up, Iger will remain with the company as the head executive for the next two years.

”I’ve been engaged with the board for quite some time and there’s a discussion about succession and they’ve been engaged in a succession process, ” Iger said. “And we continue to feel that they will be able to identify my successor on a timely enough basis so this company has a smooth transition.”

Iger has been the chief executive since 2005.

On Wednesday, April 10, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger received the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Humanitarian Award, the global human rights organization’s highest honor, during its 2019 Tribute Dinner in Beverly Hills, California. The prestigious award was given to Iger in recognition of his longstanding support for the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its educational arm, the Museum of Tolerance, and for the ongoing commitment to cultural diversity, social responsibility and philanthropy that has helped guide him as a leader in the entertainment industry.

“Diversity has always been one of our nation’s greatest strengths, and that includes diversity of thought,” said Iger, as he accepted the award, acknowledging “respectful disagreement” as a vital part of a healthy democracy. “We have to redouble our efforts to promote tolerance and, more importantly, we have to do a better job at practicing it. We need to lead by example, so the generations that follow can see the power of tolerance in action and understand that it’s our saving grace and the hope of humanity.”

New iconic Star Wars New Hope LEGO set coming on May 4th

Moments ago at Star Wars Celebration, the LEGO Group continued their celebration of the 20^th Anniversary of LEGO® Star Wars™ with the unveiling of a brand new, highly-detailed set based on the Tantive IV™ – the iconic ship seen fleeing from an Imperial Star Destroyer in the opening moments of Star Wars: A New Hope.

The LEGO Star Wars Tantive IV™ recreates all of the Rebel cruiser’s signature details, including an elongated hull, detachable escape pods, elevating gun turrets, cargo hold and 11 massive engines at the back. The 1,750+ piece set includes 5 minifigures, including Princess Leia, an R2-D2 droid LEGO figure and will be available on May 4^th (May 3^rd for LEGO VIP).

The set was unveiled at collaborative panel between the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm, 20 Years of the LEGO Star Wars Story: A Retrospective and Forward Look, at Star Wars Celebration looking at 20 years of partnership that have inspired 100’s of building sets, content and video games.

A new “Beauty and the Beast” lounge is coming to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!

The new lounge is set to open sometime this fall. Pull up a chair at this enchanting location to celebrate the magic and romance of a Disney classic.

This new space was formerly Mizner’s Lounge and Commander Porter’s at the Grand Floridian. It will feature four different spaces inspired by Belle and the Beast.

The signature bar will be centered around a gold chandelier inspired after Belle’s gown and the Beast’s magical rose.

The formal library will highlight Belle and the Beast’s friends with classic baroque design and French furnishings.

There will also be a garden room that will be filled with whimsy as it draws inspiration from the enchanted forest surrounding the Beast’s castle.

Lastly, an outdoor patio will mirror the romance of the Beast’s garden terrace.

Kevin Feige Claims There is No Room for Bathroom Breaks During Avengers: Endgame. You will want to use the restroom before going into the theater.

According to Kevin Feige, the head of Marvel Studios, there is no “good time” to take a break during the film to leave the theater for a bathroom break. For some fans this is great news, meaning every single moment of Avengers: Endgame will be worth watching and full of important content that can not be missed. For others, the thought of having to sit through a film with a run time of over 3 hours seems impossible without a quick break to the bathroom or a refill on drinks and snacks.

When asked about the films run time and when fans could leave the theater without missing too much, Feige had this to say. “What I’ve always said is a movie is as long as it should be. And we are not fans of overindulging movies. We are not fans of laborious lengths for no reason. We are fans of movies that you wish didn’t end. Movies that you want to see again as soon as it’s over. And movies that you just don’t ever find a good time to run out to the bathroom. That’s when a movie’s working. And if a movie doesn’t feel like that to us we continue to trim, we continue to shape, we continue to bring that time down. That happened to a certain extent on this movie. But we got to a point where it feels very exciting and goes by very quickly and in the end is the perfect length. And everybody that saw the movie felt the same way.”

It has also been stated previously that Avengers: Endgame will NOT contain an intermission during the screenings. Meaning, if you forget to use the bathroom before the film, you may be squirming in your seat or you risk missing very important content to the storyline and could be confused after returning to the theater.

Consider this post to be a reminder to use the restroom before entering the theater, and maybe skip out on the large drink from the concession stand. Avengers, Assemble! and enjoy Avengers: Endgame, coming to theaters on April 26, 2019.

Disneyland Paris is celebrating the upcoming release of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 with the launch of “Toy Story Play Days!”. This will be an 11-day celebration dedicated to Woody and friends, from the 18th to the 28th June 2019! Guests of all ages are invited to be apart of this playful Toy Story adventure!
