Updated Digital Film Scene Comes to Living with the Land

living with the land epcot

Living with the Land is always a peaceful and educational ride featured in The Land at Epcot.  Many Disney fans both young and “less young” love taking a ride through the greenhouse.  Recently the video playing right before entering the greenhouse received an upgrade.  If you frequently ride Living with the Land you will instantly notice the difference in brightness and clarity of the last film segment.

The video has also been changed including new scenes including a clip from the Epcot greenhouse.  The visual presentation is just beautiful and captivating.

So I know some people get upset when Disney “messes with a classic” but these upgrades are all for the better.  If you’ve never had the opportunity to ride now is a great time to check it out!

Disney Fan Reanimates Live-Action ‘The Lion King’ Characters to Look More Like the Original Film

Disney Fan Reanimates Live-Action 'The Lion King' Characters to Look More Like the Original Film

Disney Fan Reanimates Live-Action ‘The Lion King’ Characters to Look More Like the Original Film. In a collaborative effort between artists and animators, DesignByFEO, Jonty, and Ellejart, the group applied the 2D-animation style of The Lion King characters from the original film over the more realistic renderings in the remade live-action The Lion King for some incredible fan made artwork.

The reimagined characters have been taking the internet by storm, but some fans are divided on applying the old animation style to the 3D renderings or if Disney’s new take on the characters was the right fit for the film.

Artist, Ellejart, posted this side-by-side video to their Instagram account where it has now gone viral online. They also uploaded a video to YouTube, which you can view at the bottom of the article.

Together, DesignByFEO and Ellejart worked on the film posters showing both animation styles in the featured photo. You can check out these amazing side-by-side stills of Jonty + Ellejart’s incredible work bringing the original animation style of The Lion King to life in 3D.

Just look at these adorable little Simba’s. They are both equally as cute in our eyes!

Scar looks even more menacing with the traditional black main and piercing yellow eyes, but his more realistic counterpart looks a tad more innocent than the original tale let on.

Okay, okay, in this comparison ‘reanimated’ Simba looks MUCH more regretful tan the lifelike rendering.

The difference in these is slightly less noticeable and Scar looks rather intimidating in both images, but I would be lying if I said I didn’t laugh out loud at the extra hyena grin in the rendering on the bottom.

Always my favorite comic relief duo, Timon and Pumbaa stole the show in both films, but this scene would have been 100 times funnier in the live-action with the more original character concepts.

One of the pushing points for fans who wish the original character designs had been more incorporated into the live-action film is that this form of animation allowed for more emotion to be shown by the characters with more than just their ‘voices’. I mean, you can just SEE the difference on Nala’s face.

And Simba’s too.

You can see the images “in action” in a remade trailer for The Lion King now viewable on YouTube that shows a side-by-side comparison of the two animation styles. Check it out and be sure to check out more of the incredible work by Ellejart!

What do you think of the reimagined characters? Do you feel Disney should have stuck closer to the original character concepts? Or did you prefer the more realistic renderings? Maybe you feel Disney should have never remade The Lion King? Let us know what you think in the comments! We would love to hear your opinion.

Reports are coming in that parts of the lobby at Disney’s Polynesian Resort has been shut down due to a major water leak.

Major water leak shuts down parts of Disney's Polynesian Resort lobby

The leak seems to be coming from the main level where Captain Cooks & Trader Sams Grog Grotto is located.

Initial reports started to come in around 3 pm this afternoon and it looks to be coming from the bathrooms in the back of the lobby near those 2 establishments.

Cast members escorted guests out of those areas and those areas are now blocked.

That is all the details we have for now. Stay tuned to Chip and Co for more information.

Baseball Pitcher Wears Infinity Gauntlet Glove For MLB Weekend

Baseball Pitcher Wears Infinity Gauntlet Glove For MLB Weekend

Pirates Pitcher showing-off Infinity Gauntlet Glove at MLB Weekend.  The annual players weekend for the Major League Baseball (MLB) players will be starting on August 23, 2019.  It is a big weekend for baseball players, including Pirates pitcher, Joe Musgrove, who will be showing off his Infinity Gauntlet glove.

The MLB will be easing its uniform policies for the weekend and even allowing the players to, once again, wear nicknames on the back of their uniforms.

In addition, players are allowed to wear their own custom gear, such as cleats, batting gloves, or catcher’s masks.  This allowed the Pirates pitcher, Joe “Moose” Musgrove, to show-off his custom made Infinity Gauntlet Glove which resembles the one showcased in “Avengers“.

Musgrove showed off his glove, created by a local artist Cody Sabol, earlier this week in anticipation for the upcoming weekend.

Good Luck out there MLB players!

For over 50 years Disney has been partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Central Florida and giving these children experiences that will last a lifetime. This week was no different. Over 1,000 kids from the local boys and girls club were “the chosen ones”, to journey to the planet Batuu at the highly anticipated  Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Rena Langley the Senior Vice President of Communications for Disney stated that, “Disney is a Force in the community and that they want to help spark imagination among kids”.

The students were “far, far away” from their daily lives and fully immersed in the land, from Jedi training to piloting the Millenium Falcon, and drinking blue milk along with other tasty space treats. As some of the first visitors to the land, they were able to explore all of this uncharted territory learning the ways of the force, and making memories that they will take with them long after this fun-filled day.

There will be other community outreach experiences being provided by Disney. Give Kids the World Village which is another local charity that grants wishes for sick children, will also be partnering with Disney to send over 140 Wish families to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge as well.

Disney really does have a way of making dreams come true and putting smiles on children’s faces, which is all part of the Magic. Follow us @ChipandCo to hear of other great community outreach experience, when Disney sprinkles a little pixie dust next time.
