Automated PhotoPass Cameras Arrive At Mickey And Minnie Meet & Greet

Automated PhotoPass Cameras Arrive At Mickey And Minnie Meet & Greet

Technology improvements are usually great at the Walt Disney World Resort but we are not so sure about this one with the big cheese himself.

Automated cameras have taken over the Mickey and Minnie Mouse meet & greet inside Town Square Theater at the Magic Kingdom.

Automated PhotoPass Cameras Arrive At Mickey And Minnie Meet & Greet

The cameras are installed in the book shelf across from where Mickey and Minnie stand  and “hidden” between two sets of books.

The whole process lacks of magic, the presence of a PhotoPass Cast Member is definitely missed. The character attendant will guide you through the whole experience, making sure you look to the magic bookshelf that flash every 3 to 5 seconds to get a good picture and will still offered to take pictures with your own phone if you would like a little extra memories.

Once you are done with your meet & greet, you proceed to collect your belongings and scan your MagicBand at a kiosk to link your photos to your MyDisneyExperience account.

But this is not the first time Disney has installed automated cameras in important meet & greets, we already saw them with Kylo Ren and Chewbacca and even with Tinkerbell.

Im not exactly sure why they decided to make these changes but the guest experience is definitely different, specially since we are talking about one of the most loved Disney characters.

Disney PhotoPass Cast Members will still support more then 100 locations across the parks and use their creativity to capture those special memories.

What do you think of these? Are you a fan of the change or prefer the old way? Let us know in the comments below!

Shimmering Sips Strawberry Soft-Serve Cone At Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival

Shimmering Sips Strawberry Soft-Serve Cone At Epcot's Food and Wine Festival

This past weekend we got to explore Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival. We were happy to see some new booths and also some new eats! One of our favorite new items was this Shimmering Strawberry Soft-Serve.

The Shimmering Sips booth was new in 2018 and has a brand new location this year. It’s right at the start to the World Showcase. This new Shimmering Strawberry Soft-Serve was the perfect treat for the Florida heat. Much preferred to having hot soup in the blazing sun. (I’m looking at you cheese soup) This delicious new waffle cone is $5.25. You can use a dining plan snack credit on it.

Shimmering Sips Strawberry Soft-Serve Cone At Epcot's Food and Wine Festival

The Strawberry Soft-Serve was absolutely delicious. It reminded me of the inside of those Strawberry Shortcake Ice Creams. It had some fun hot pink sprinkles as well for a shimmering effect. The cone is a fun option for kids if adults want that mimosa flight too.

Disneyland Releases New Jack Skellington Sipper Just In Time For Halloween

This spooky sipper was release during Halloween Time at Disneyland and is causing a lot of talk. Mainly, about the size of the sipper and how it looks a little creepy. The body is what makes up the cup and Jack’s long limbs make it one of the largest souvenir sippers we have seen at the parks. It even comes with Jack’s famous bat bow tie and classic coattails!

You can purchase the Jack Skellington Premium Sipper in two locations. In New Orleans Square, you can find the sipper at the Royal Street Veranda. Along the Rivers of America, you can find the souvenir cup at the Harbour Galley.

The Jack Skellington Premium Sipper is retailing for $22.99 before tax. Guests can even use the mobile order service on the Disneyland App to get your hands on this souvenir. At time of purchase, just select your choice of beverage.

Are you going to grab this Nightmare Before Christmas souvenir sipper? Let us know in the comments!

Newest Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom is Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl Float

Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl Float

Nothing gets a Disney Parks fan worked up quite like their favorite snack, and although the top fan favorite is always up for debate, Dole Whips never fail to be in the top 5. Lately, the Magic Kingdom has been introducing flavors other than pineapple around the park, such as mango and lemon. The newest combination to hit Aloha Isle is the Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl Float. We had to get down there ASAP to check it out for ourselves.

Newest Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom is Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl Float

The base of this drink is pineapple juice, which is topped with a swirl of the classic pineapple Dole Whip and the newer raspberry Dole Whip. We had previously seen raspberry in the Hei Hei Cone at Aloha Isle, which has since disappeared. We were excited to try these two tart flavors together and to see how they’d taste in a float. We weren’t disappointed!

Newest Dole Whip at Magic Kingdom is Raspberry and Pineapple Swirl Float

The refreshing fruity flavors complement each other perfectly and are just sweet enough to satisfy a need for dessert, but not overwhelmingly so for those who are sugar-phobes. The fact that this is a drink helps it to be the perfect choice as we wait on the cooler fall weather to arrive. And as usual, this dole whip is vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and fat-free. It costs $5.99 before tax. Overall, this is a great snack choice for the whole family!

We’ve enjoyed tasting all the new flavors of Dole Whip that the Magic Kingdom has been rolling out. From lime to orange, the options have been expanding rapidly and are all delicious! This new float is no exception, so if you’re a Dole Whip fan you’d better hurry over to Aloha Isle and try it out. Now the biggest question is simply: which flavor is your favorite?

Cinderella Castle Dream Lights Installation Has Started For This Christmas Season

It might still be Halloween time over at the Magic Kingdom but that doesn’t mean a little magic backstage isn’t already happening!

Cinderella Castle is getting ready for the holidays a few months earlier with the installation of 200,000 Castle Dream Lights just in time for “Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” starting on November 8.

Cinderella Castle Dream Lights Installation Has Started For This Christmas Season

The transition from Halloween to Christmas at Walt Disney World is something incredible to witness, specially at Magic Kingdom Park. It might seem as if is an overnight transformation but in reality it takes about a month to change.

The Castle Dream Lights are the first decorations to go “on stage” so you might be able to see them before the holidays start!

“Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” will run from November 8 to December 22, 2019.

Up Photo Shoot Between Little Boy & Grandparents

Up Photo Shoot Between Little Boy & Grandparents

It’s a mother’s worst fear to not be around to watch her kids grow up. For Rachel Perman a possible reality after she received a cancer diagnosis soon after the birth of her twins. She says she was afraid she wouldn’t make it to their 5th birthday. So when their 5th birthday came around she wanted to commemorate the occasion in a big way with a photoshoot.

Up Photo Shoot Between Little Boy & Grandparents

Her son Elijah is a huge fan of Disney’s movie Up. It is nothing short of an obsession for him. He loves books, and toys, and even loves to color and draw pictures from his favorite movie. So when she asked him what theme he would like of course, he chose the adventure-themed film.

Up Photo Shoot Between Little Boy & Grandparents

To make this photoshoot extra special she enlisted the help of two important people to them, Elijah’s great-grandparents to help with it. Although they had never personally seen the movie they were honored to partake in it. The 90-year-old grandfather posed as Carl with the signature square glasses, suit, and even the hose he carries around. Ellie was portrayed by his great-grandmother also in her 90s.

Elijah donned the cub scout look that Russel has in the Pixar film, and is carrying Carl and Ellie’s colorful house attached to a large balloon bouquet. They look certainly ready for their next adventure in these photos, that they will have to cherish for years to come.

Now, these photos have taken the Internet by storm. They definitely bring the cuteness factor.

Moat Near Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom Refilled

Cinderella Castle moat

After much waiting and anticipation, the beautiful Cinderella Castle at Disney’s Magic Kingdom is back to its former glory, moat and all! Since March, the moat has been empty of water and guests have been able to peer at the concrete slab beneath. It wasn’t exactly a ”fairytale” look, but now guests will be delighted with the result.

Moat Near Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom Refilled

The moat was drained for renovations around the castle. For a long time, the pathways leading around the castle, from Liberty Square to Fantasyland and also from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland, have been congested areas that are difficult to navigate. Disney took note and decided that it was time to widen the walkways to better accommodate guests.

After draining the water, the pathway from Tomorrowland was shut down and renovated. It has since reopened with its wider foot space, while the path from Liberty Square had its turn in being refurbished. In order for the whole path to be serviced, Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Liberty Square closed their outdoor seating area in June, becoming a window-service-only operation and forcing customers to walk their treats elsewhere. Guests have had to reroute themselves through other areas of the park due to the closures, but the extra space is a fair trade for a little extra walking.

Moat Near Cinderella's Castle in Magic Kingdom Refilled

With the empty moat looming since March 20th when it was first drained, visitors will be glad to see a camera-worthy castle back at the Magic Kingdom. They’ll now have extra walking space to take pictures of the view without being crushed on all sides as well! Walt Disney World may need to go under construction from time to time, but the magic never disappears for long. Just like that beautiful moat!
