Marvel Being Sued For Alleged Theft of the X-Men: Animated Series Theme Song

Marvel Being Sued For Alleged Theft of the X-Men: Animated Series Theme Song

Marvel Being Sued For Alleged Theft of the X-Men Animated Series Theme Song. According to TMZ, a man named Zoltan Krisko is suing Marvel, Disney, FOX, Apple, Amazon and other media outlets for the usage of the allegedly stolen theme song used in “X-Men” the animated cartoon. The song is reportedly ripped from Linda a series about a female police officer that aired successfully in Hungary from 1984 to 1991.

According to the report, Krisko claims he manages the estate of Hungarian composer, Gyorgy Vukan, who composed and copyrighted the “Linda” theme song in 1983. Zoltan says it sounds exactly like the theme song used in the “X-Men” animated series, which premiered after Linda was off the air.

We have included videos with bot the X-Men theme song and the intro to Linda, take a listen for yourself and tell us what you think in the comments:

In 2017, X-Men show runner Eric Lewald shared that he had been inspired with a continuation story that would make up a 6thh season for the series, should Marvel. consider a reboot.

“I had honestly never thought about it for all these years, but now that you mention it, an idea for a season just came to me: The five-season series ends with a dying Charles Xavier being whisked away to space by Lilandra, where she can maintain his fragile body, but where it seems he will be gone forever from his beloved X-Men. It’s like a death,” Lewald began. “Season Six could open, months later, with the X-Men in disarray – a few gone, the ones remaining at each other’s throats. They miss their leader. Then somehow they are called to – and transported to – an existential crisis on Lilandra’s distant world. The team grudgingly reunites ‘for Charles,’ heads off to space, solves the crisis, and a somehow-healed Charles Xavier is either able to return to Earth with them or, if he can’t, his heroic final sacrifice heals the team’s wounds and they return to Earth as the proper X-Men again.”

What are your thoughts on the alleged theft? Do you hear a blatant similarity? Or do you think the allegations are unfounded? We would love to here your thoughts in the comments.

Disneyland Will Soon Debut New FastPass Kiosk In Tomorrowland

Disneyland Will Soon Debut New FastPass Kiosk In Tomorrowland

The Disneyland Resort has gone through some major changes when it comes to fastpass options and distribution. Recently, with MaxPass and the Disneyland App, selecting a ride time has never been easier. Now, the resort is about to debut a new FastPass option for guests visiting Tomorrowland!

Disneyland Will Soon Debut New FastPass Kiosk In Tomorrowland

Starting this month, Disneyland Park will have a central FastPass kiosk for three Tomorrowland attractions. This kiosk will allow guests to obtain paperless fast passes for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Space Mountain (currently Hyperspace Mountain), and Star Tours. This new FastPass distribution area will be located by the Tomorrowland Theater starting October 15th.

Disneyland Will Soon Debut New FastPass Kiosk In Tomorrowland

The digital FastPass will be available for review on the Disneyland App. Guests can select their return time on the touch screen and then get back to enjoying their park day. Guests will only be able to select one pass at a time.

If this system proves to be successful, then the resort could implement more of these digital kiosks in surrounding lands at both parks. This could also help with the flow of crowd traffic in more high volume areas. The company has already implemented changes to Tomorrowland to help with crowd flow in its entrance. Earlier we reported on the rocks placed at the entrance of the land were in progress of being removed. Ultimately, these new systems and renovations will help during the busier holiday seasons in the parks.

What land would you like to see this kiosk in next? Let us know in the comments below!

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

Fall Desserts Disney Springs

Fall is in the air and, consequently, on our plates. Irresistible flavors of cinnamon apple and pumpkin spice have found their way back into homes and restaurants everywhere, and we love it! One of our favorite spots to pick up sweet treats is Disney Springs; with a variety of specialty shops and restaurants, there is no end of options when it comes to autumnal seasonal desserts. Here are a few of the standouts.

When it comes to fancy desserts, Amorette’s Patisserie takes the cake. Or, in this case, the crème brûlée. This fall, guests will find a Pumpkin Crème Brûlée there, that starts off with pumpkin custard, and is layered with torched sugar, candied pecans, a pumpkin sable cookie, and chocolate garnish. An elegant confection for the pumpkin-lovers out there.

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

If cake is on the menu but pumpkin isn’t, Erin McKenna’s Bakery is the place to be. They’re serving up a gluten-free, vegan Caramel Apple Medley. It’s a vanilla cake with caramel, baked apples, and cinnamon mousse, all topped with sugar crystals. Perfect for those with dietary restrictions who still want to satisfy their sweet tooth!

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

When speaking of cake, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention cupcakes. And that means Sprinkles! We’ve definitely spotted a Pumpkin Spice Cupcake, but if visitors want to buy in bulk (and when it comes to cupcakes, who doesn’t?) there’s the BOO Box. Customers who select this option will be sure to get a variety, including Vanilla, Milk Chocolate, Red Velvet, Black & White, and Pumpkin. Something for everyone to share or for just one someone who loves cupcakes!

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

Fall in Florida doesn’t necessarily mean cooler weather, which makes eating ice cream completely justifiable! But in all honesty, Vivoli il Gelato is serving some desserts that would make people line up even if it was snowing. There’s Pumpkin Cannoli (as delicious as it sounds) or a Jack-O-Lantern Float, made of orange Fanta, vanilla gelato, whipped cream, and sprinkles. But how to choose between the two? Better just get both.

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

Recently it seems Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill can’t help but be on our radar. They’ve been presenting some monster sundaes that give us a sugar coma just looking at them, but it’s totally worth it! Stop by and try the Peanut Butter Wafer Sundae or the returning Campfire Sundae. Both are topped with an entire piece of cake, so be prepared to do some serious eating! Either that or bring five of your close friends.

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

Moving on to Yesake, don’t be surprised to find fall flavors even there! Pumpkin Spice Boba Tea or Spiced Kabocha are the perfect fall drink for warm weather. The Kabocha Pumpkin Bun is everything it sounds like it is: pumpkin cream, cinnamon, and even a little cranberry, all wrapped in a bun; almost like a pumpkin pie on the go!

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

Churros are synonymous with Disney, so we’re glad they weren’t left out of the pumpkin loop. Head over to Sunshine Churros (either on the West Side or at the Marketplace) to try out the Pumpkin Spice Churro, filled with cream cheese. Portable and sweet.

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

If you’re looking for an autumn treat but are stuck on chocolate, Ghiradelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop is the place to go. Their fall collection includes flavors such as Caramel Pumpkin Spice, and Milk Caramel squares. You can never go wrong with chocolate.

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

And speaking of chocolate, why not stop by the Ganachery and take some home? There are Pumpkin Spice or Chai Tea flavored specialty chocolates, or for something to sip on as you walk about, the Maple Bourbon Hot Ganache topped with bacon is the perfect indulgent treat.

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

Maybe you like the sound of all these desserts, but you’re a Disney purist at heart. You can still find the sugary snack of your dreams over at the Candy Cauldron or at Goofy’s Candy Co. They’re both serving up delicious Disney snacks that have had a special Halloween makeover and are easily packaged to take home. For example: Mummy Rice Krispy Treats or Jack Skellington specialty apples. Whatever you choose is sure to ooze Disney magic and be Instagram-worthy.

Autumn is Calling with Fall-Flavored Desserts at Disney Springs

For the serious foodies out there, the WonderFall Flavors self-guided tour at Disney Springs is certainly worth checking out. But no matter what you do, make sure to get down and try some of these treats before November 4th; that’s when we’ll have to say goodbye to them until next year!

Disney's 'Newsies' Is Coming to Washington D.C.

Disney’s ‘Newsies‘ Is Coming to Washington D.C. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces Disney’s Tony Award-winning musical Newsies is coming to the nations capitol this holiday season.

Newsies is an inspiring story about kids who fight for what is right at the turn of the century, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman and book by Harvey Fierstein. Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City, this family-friendly musical follows the story of newsboys and newsgirls who dream of a better life and lead a crusade for justice. Just in time for the holidays, the score features fan favorites, including “King of New York,” “Carrying the Banner” and “Seize the Day.” Newsies, directed by Molly Smith, with choreography by Parker Esse and music direction by Laura Bergquist, will run November 1-December 22, 2019 in the iconic in-the-round Fichandler Stage

Disney's 'Newsies' Is Coming to Washington D.C.

Newsies is a brilliant blending of a children’s crusade and a contemporary Gold Standard musical,” shares director Molly Smith. “With today’s young people fighting passionately for gun control and climate protection legislation in new children’s crusades, we clearly see resonance with today’s young people. The plight of the newsboys and girls at the turn of the century is a passionate story, because they stood up for themselves and fought for fairness. With music that is hummable, wonderful acting with a top-notch cast, dynamic choreography and plenty of young people on stage, this is an ideal production to bring the whole family to the theater during the holidays.”

Newsies will feature Daniel J. Maldonado (Emerson Colonial Theatre’s Moulin Rogue!) as Jack Kelly and D.C. actress Erin Weaver (Arena’s Mother Courage) as Katherine Plumber with Edward Gero (Arena’s Junk and The Originalist) as Joseph Pulitzer. Making their Arena Stage debuts are Joe Montoya as Crutchie and both Josiah Smothers (The National Theatre’s Finding Neverland) and Hazel Hay as Les Jacobs.

Joining the cast are Arena veterans Ethan Van Slyke (Arena’s Oliver!) as Davey Jacobs, Thomas Adrian Simpson (Arena’s Anything Goes) as Wiesel, as well as D.C. native Nova Payton (Arena’s Smokey Joe’s Café) as Medda Larkin.

This front-page cast also includes Rory Boyd as Oscar Delancey, Wyn Delano as Snyder, Michael Hewitt as Morris Delancey and ensemble members Christian Douglas, Jamie Smithson and Carole Denise Jones.

‘The Lion King’ Singer Rejected a $2 Million Check In Favor Of Royalties and It Paid Off

'The Lion King' Singer Rejected a $2 Million Check In Favor Of Royalties and It Paid Off

‘The Lion King’ Singer Rejected a $2 Million Check In Favor Of Royalties and It Paid Off. Best known in his youth for providing the singing voice of Young Simba in Disney’s The Lion King, Jason Weaver sat down and shared his story with VladTV.

'The Lion King' Singer Rejected a $2 Million Check In Favor Of Royalties and It Paid Off

VladTV asked Weaver how much Disney offered him for his role, which was strictly a singing role for the film as Young Simba. “I remember it was like $2 million,” said Weaver, “You gotta remember, they’re coming off of Beauty and the Beast. They’re coming off of Aladdin. Disney had bread.”

When asked why Jason’s mother decided to push for royalties instead of accepting Disney’s initial offer he explained, “Disney had a reputation for re-releasing stuff. I think at that time they had put out Sleeping Beauty and some of their old catalog from when Walt Disney was alive. They were releasing that stuff when they were releasing the new Disney stuff, so she was able to see the playing field and go, ‘Wait a minute, this is going to make a lot of money over time, so what happens when my son turns 40? Is he going to be able to get a check for this when they eventually re-release this?’”

'The Lion King' Singer Rejected a $2 Million Check In Favor Of Royalties and It Paid Off

Instead of taking the $2 Million check, Weaver’s Mother and Talent Agent worked together to negotiate with Disney and settled on a $100,000 check initially, with royalties for Weaver in the future. Jason says that since the films release he has more than made up for the $1.9 Million gap between the two offers and is still receiving checks for his work. Jason has even received money from the royalties after the release of The Lion King (2019) remake this year and is more than happy that his mother had the insight and wisdom to play “the long game” on his behalf.
