Jack-O-Lantern Float: The Happiest Treat at Disney Springs

Jack O Lantern Float Disney Springs

I mean just look at him!  He’s not spooky at all but simply perfect for Florida fall.  Disney Springs is conjuring up many wonderful fall and Halloween treats but this one sounded so good I had to try it.

I found Mr. Jack-O-Lantern at Vivoli Gelateria which is found close to Joffrey’s.  His smile and contents were too yummy to pass up.  As you might be able to tell by their name this quaint store serves up lots of gelato and sweet treats.  I’m sure you could ask for any of the flavors for the base but I went with vanilla.  Orange Fanta was poured on top (yes they did this carefully so you got enough, float fans).  The float was then topped with whipped cream and green sugar  crystals.

Jack-O-Lantern Float: The Happiest Treat at Disney Springs

The Jack-O-Lantern float is a dream for creamsicle-lovers and costs $11.00 pretax.  This treat and many others will disappear soon after October 31 to make way for the new holiday treats! Try it out next time you are at Disney Springs.

Boy Was Attacked By An Anteater During a Disney Cruise Vacation

Boy Was Attacked By An Anteater During a Disney Cruise Vacation

In October of 2018, a boy and his mother boarded the Disney Wonder for a trip of a lifetime, but that quickly turned when the boy was attacked by an anteater at one of the port stops.

When the Disney Wonder docked at Cartagena, Colombia the boy and his mother left the boat to visit The National Aviary of Colombia.  It was there that the boy was attacked by an anteater that was not ” sequestered from visitors” causing severe injury to the boy.

Although documents have not reported what injuries the boy sustained, they do show that he was treated once back on board the Disney Wonder.  According to the documents the boy was treated but did not receive enough treatment to prevent him from contracting a severe mycobacterial infection.

The family has since filed a lawsuit claiming The Magical Cruise Company and Vanter Cruise Health Services, which provided the medical personnel aboard the Disney Wonder during the trip, were negligent by not properly diagnosing and therefore not providing enough medical care for the boy.

Attorneys have filed the lawsuit seeking damages in excess of $15,000 and a jury trial.

Robert Zemeckis Reportedly “In-Talks” With Disney To Direct Live-Action Pinocchio. Having lost multiple directors before production began, it looks like Disney may have finally found a director for the live-action remake of the Disney Classic Animated Feature Film, Pinocchio.

According to ComingSoon.net, Disney has approached famed motion capture director, Robert Zemeckis to direct the live-action Pinocchio. Zemeckis has many films under his directorial belt including: The Polar Express, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, and Beowulf, and seems to be a natural fit as puppet master for Disney.

ComingSoon.net also shared this description of the original animated film, “The original Pinocchio, based on the 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, first debuted in theaters in 1940 and won two Academy Awards. In the 1940 Disney-animated film Pinocchio, the lead role was voiced by Dickie Jones, Jiminy Cricket by Cliff Edwards, and Master Geppetto by Christian Rubb… Pinocchio will center on the wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a “real boy,” and the relationship between a father and son, the ramifications of lying and creating stories and living in a fantasy world.”

Disney has yet to share how they plan on bringing the adventurous puppet to life on the big screen, but continues to move forward with the project despite major set backs in production. There has been no official word if Zemeckis has signed onto the project, but we hope to hear a confirmation soon.

It is also currently unknown if the live-action Pinocchio will premiere in theaters on on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

Sir Elton John Thinks the “Magic Was Lost” In Live-Action ‘The Lion King’

THE LION KING - Featuring the voices of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala and Donald Glover as Simba, Disney’s “The Lion King” is directed by Jon Favreau. In theaters July 19, 2019. © 2019 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Sir Elton John Thinks the “Magic Was Lost” In Live-Action ‘The Lion King‘. Though a raging box-office success for Disney, many fans had mixed feelings about the live-action adaptation of the Disney Classic, The Lion King. One person in particular has been very vocal about his view on the film and shared his take on the remake with with GQ.

Can You Feel The Love Tonight” singer, Sir Elton John, is not pleased with the live-action film and did not mince words when expressing his feelings on the matter.

“The new version of The Lion King was a huge disappointment to me, because I believe they messed the music up,” Elton told British GQ. “Music was so much a part of the original and the music in the current film didn’t have the same impact. The magic and joy were lost. The soundtrack hasn’t had nearly the same impact in the charts that it had 25 years ago, when it was the bestselling album of the year.”

“The new soundtrack fell out of the charts so quickly, despite the massive box-office success,” Elton continued, “I wish I’d been invited to the party more, but the creative vision for the film and its music was different this time around and I wasn’t really welcomed or treated with the same level of respect. That makes me extremely sad. I’m so happy that the right spirit for the music lives on with The Lion King stage musical.”

The whole conversation started during Elton’s exclusive interview with GQ about his career, life, and various projects from his decades of work including his new autobiography, “Me”.. You can read his full interview with British GQ by CLICKING HERE.

What are your thoughts on the live action The Lion King? Do you think Elton has a point, or is he reading too far into the remake? Did you enjoy the live-action remake, or do you want Disney to focus on new stories? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Magical Beauty and The Beast Proposal At Disney World!

Magical Beauty and The Beast Proposal At Disney World!

A tale as old as time!

Back in late September, a beautiful couple got engaged in the most magical way possible.

Paul Rivera planed a fairytale proposal for his girlfriend Ada Sulbaran when they decided to go to Disney World for vacation. Paul made reservations for dinner at the Be Our Guest restaurant since Beauty and The Beast is Ada’s favorite Disney film. Little did she know, that dinner reservation wasn’t going to be a regular one at all.

“I wanted it to be a private occasion so i called and emailed Disney about 50 times until i finally was able to get a hold of someone who works with the people at the restaurant” said Paul.

The couple dressed as the iconic characters for the occasion. They were received by the castle staff and got a private tour of Beast’s castle before entering the grand ballroom where the proposal took place.

As soon as they stepped into the ballroom, music from Beauty and The Beast started playing. Paul asked Ada to dance and they immediately started spinning and dancing with a classical waltz.

“We started practicing the waltz because i told her that one day when we were married i would like to do a waltz as our first dance, little did she know it was actually for our engagement” mentioned Paul.

After the dance, Paul dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him, Ada didn’t hesitate at all and said YES!!!. Cheers from their family and cast members filled the room as the couple shared their first kiss as an engaged couple.

“I was extremely nervous, the whole time i was hoping that everything would go okay; that my mom would know how to use my camera because we had been practicing for a few weeks before her hands to get her ready” said Paul. “Im so blesses to have her and there’s no better feeling in the world then that.” Awww that is so cute!

As of now the couple doesn’t have a set date yet but are thinking about December this year so their families can be there for the holidays or March.

“We wanted to do a Disney wedding but it was a bit out of our price range so we’re just going to do it themed, we just don’t want it to seem too cartoon.”

We can’t wait to see pictures from their wedding! Hopefully is Beauty and The Beast themed as well!

39 Disneyland Paris cast members win an award for Outstanding Customer Service

39 Disneyland Paris cast members win an award for Outstanding Customer Service

39 Disneyland Paris cast members won an award for Outstanding Customer Service at the fifth edition of the Walt Disney Legacy Award! This award is for the cast member who goes “above and beyond to create the magic of Disney with the most important distinction in their careers!”. The award ceremony took place in September at Disneyland Paris according to their official news website.

Every cast member, crew member or Imagineer is unique and strives to provide the best possible experience for guests every day. However, some of them try their utmost for the guests, fellow cast members and the company as a whole and therefore receive The Walt Disney Legacy Award which is the highest honour.
Inspired by the one who started with the mouse, Walt Disney himself inspires this award by leaving the company a global success. Therefore, this award is dedicated to those that go above and beyond every day. The award is eligible to any employee that has two or more continuous years of service and is nominated by his or her peers. Daniel Dreux, Vice President Human Resources at Disneyland Paris, said that “No one is better placed than cast members to evaluate their colleagues’ talents! We owe them for identifying and giving these exceptional persons an opportunity to receive The Walt Disney Legacy Award,”

As mentioned, the “Walt Disney Legacy Award” is the Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products’ highest honour and recognizes individuals within the organization who excel in the criteria of Dream, Create and Inspire.

  • Make dreams come true by enhancing the Disney experience by going above and beyond every day.
  • Create new and efficient ways to improve the work environment to maintain the quality of the Disney brand.
  • Inspire others by being inclusive, supportive and positive.

There were over a thousand nominations for the award with 39 Disneyland Paris cast members awarded by a jury with the most prestigious award of their careers. Once their names were annouced they were awarded the iconic blue name-tag, a symbol of their excellency, and attended an evening gala in their honor on September 12th, 2019.

Like The Walt Disney Legacy Award, the Disney Heroes Award which is a global program awarded to cast members whom, thanks to their security training or first aid skills, have contributed to saving a life or preventing serious injuries. The award is signed personally by Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company.

New Flavor Popcorn Arrives In Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

New Flavor Popcorn Arrives In Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

Bright Suns travelers! There’s a new popcorn option in the marketplace of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. While we didn’t get the new chocolate flavor Disneyland just announced we did get a new Galactic Green.
New Flavor Popcorn Arrives In Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

This new fun popcorn can be found at Kat Saka’s Kettle. This is the same spot where you can find the sweet and salty popular mix. The Galactic Green isn’t on the menus yet but was still $6.49 like the other flavor. This one seemed to just be butter with some green food coloring to make it themed.

I would have much rather gotten the original Galaxy’s Edge mix. For the same price it would have been an original flavor. This one tasted ok but you can get buttered popcorn all over the Walt Disney World Resort for cheaper and you get more of it.

New Flavor Popcorn Arrives In Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

Since Galactic  Green isn’t on the menu we aren’t sure if this is a permanent addition to Kat Saka’s. I’m still holding out some hope we get the Chocolate Popcorn with Crait Red Salt. At least that would be a fun new twist and not just plain butter. I will say it’s a nice option for those that didn’t like the fruity flavor of the original mix. Either way, both the sweet and spicy mix and the new green butter popcorn are being made fresh daily in the Black Spire Outpost in Batuu.
