New R2-D2 Cake Available at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs

r2d2 cake amorette's disney springs

In honor of the release of Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker to theaters tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 20th, Walt Disney World has cooked up a little something special. You can now find R2-D2 cakes at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs, just like the one pictured above!

Just like the other cake offerings, this sweet treat is definitely on the pricier side but worth it if you’re the ultimate Star Wars fan!

Though, since this is a signature dome cake, make sure and call ahead at least 48 hours in advance so they can make it for you. Once it’s ready, you can either go and pick it up from the store or have it delivered to a Disney Springs restaurant (if you’d like it for a special occasion).

Treat yourself to some cake at Amorette’s, check out the Star Wars merchandise located all over Disney Springs (especially the Star Wars Trading Post and Star Wars Galactic Outpost), and prepare yourself for when Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker hits theaters tomorrow!

Episode 7 of ‘The Mandalorian’ Ends with An Unexpected Twist

Episode 7 of 'The Mandalorian' Ends with An Unexpected Twist

Episode 7 of ‘The Mandalorian‘ Ends with An Unexpected Twist. WARNING: This post contains MAJOR SPOILERS for The Mandalorian, Episode 7: “The Reckoning.”  This post discusses the events in detail of Episode 7. If you have not watched the this episode DO NOT PROCEED. You have been warned.

Episode 7 of 'The Mandalorian' Ends with An Unexpected Twist

As all episode of The Mandalorian so far, the episode’s description is a minimal one line summary, but the story encompasses so much more. Episode 7, “The Reckoning,” is summed up as: “An old rival extends an invitation for The Mandalorian to make peace.”

The “old rival” mentioned is none other than Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), the man who first gave ‘Mando’ the job to retrieve the child in Episode 1. Things ended in less than savory terms when ‘Mando’ decided to go back and rescue the child from “The Client” and has since been on the run from other bounty hunters across the galaxy.

Previously ‘Mando’ believed Karga to be dead after suffering a blaster shot to the heart, which was protected by the Mandalorian steel bar in his pocket. Karga offers a truce and a new job for ‘Mando’ who senses a trap and decides to bring two of his new friends along with him, Kuiil and Cara, whom he met while on the run from the other hunters.

Episode 7 of 'The Mandalorian' Ends with An Unexpected Twist

After being saved by “The Child,” Karga has a change of heart and ends a plot to kill Mando and steal “The Child” and offers to help Mando take down “The Client” together. Mando asks Kuiil to take the child and go hide inside his ship, Razorcrest, and Karga, Mando, and Cara pretend to have captured Mando and turn him in.

While speaking with The Client, he receives a call from an unknown host. While The Client speaks to this mysterious figure, Mando slips from his cuffs, readies his blaster, and prepares to take out The Client and his security detail, when the unexpected happens.

The room begins to fill with blaster shots and Mando, Karga, and Cara immediately take cover while The Client and his detail are quickly killed by a group of Imperial Stormtroopers wearing black uniforms and quickly joined by a battalion of stormtroopers. As they fall into formation, a Tie Fighter lands behind them revealing the actual client who was trying to retrieve The Child, Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).

Episode 7 of 'The Mandalorian' Ends with An Unexpected Twist

Trying desperately to reach Kuiil and ensure The Child’s safety, Mando septs out a message over radio and gives away the position of Kuiil to two stormtroopers keeping guard with land speeders near an entrance to the town. They immediately board their speeders and go after Kuiil.

While Moff Gideon monologues to Karga, Mando, and Cara, Mando desperately tries to reach Kuiil over the coms and a montage of scenes between the group, the troopers racing across the landscape, and Kuiil holding the child and getting closer to the ship with the troopers closing in, ensues. The scene heartbreaking ends with Mando screaming Kuiil’s name into the coms as we see The Child scooped up by one of the troopers and we see Kuiil’s lifeless body lying in the dirt with smoke rising from his back, presumable from blaster wounds. Marking the first major death of a favored character in the Star Wars Series.

There is one final episode of The Mandalorian in this season, and it is common knowledge that executive producer and creator, Jon Favreau, has been tapped for a second season by Lucasfilm, but with a cliffhanger like this for the season finale, what will happen to fan favorite “Baby Yoda” and our new favorite Mandalorian bounty hunter? If and how will they retrieve “The Child”? Will we have to wait for Season 2 to find out? We shall see.

Have you been enjoying The Mandalorian on Disney+ so far? Which episode has been your favorite? Where you surprised by the sudden twist at the end of Episode 7? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments, but please DO NOT SHARE SPOILERS! I have spoken.

The New Menagerie Cupcake At Animal Kingdom Is Snow Cute

The New Menagerie Cupcake At Animal Kingdom Is Snow Cute

Another day another adorable Disney cupcake! The latest cupcake of Disney World is the Menagerie Cupcake. The cute little white chocolate polar bear resembles the amazing puppets at the front of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The New Menagerie Cupcake At Animal Kingdom Is Snow Cute

This adorable cupcake was a bit of a surprise! I expected a white cake inside but it was actually a spice cake. It was really delicious. There was a ton of cream cheese frosting but it was light and fluffy and so good. It went great with the cupcake.

The New Menagerie Cupcake At Animal Kingdom Is Snow Cute

You can find this adorable and delicious Merry Menagerie Cupcake at the Starbucks at Animal Kingdom. It was $5.99 plus tax or a snack credit on the dining plan. This was a large cupcake and was really filling with the amount of cake and frosting.

I would definitely get this cupcake again. It was probably one of the top cupcakes I’ve had on property and I’ve tried my share. It’s up there with the Eggnog Cupcake we tried at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge this season.

The New Menagerie Cupcake At Animal Kingdom Is Snow Cute

Make sure to add this Merry Menagerie Cupcake to your holiday festivities over at Animal Kingdom! If your sweet tooth needs even more festive treats you can also find the White Chocolate Cranberry Mousse Brownie at the same location.

The Monte Cristo Sandwich Finally Makes it to Walt Disney World

Monte Cristo Sandwich

Walt Disney World fans have a lot of perks when they come for a visit: choice of four parks, over 25 Disney resorts (and growing!), a slew of restaurants for every palate, great shopping, and the list goes on. Something has been missing, however, and we are happy to announce that isn’t the case anymore. There is now a Monte Cristo sandwich being served on Walt Disney World property!

For years, a fan favorite at Disneyland has been the Blue Bayou Monte Cristo Sandwich. I can speak for myself and say that on my first visit to Anaheim this was a must-try for me, and with good reason! The combination of ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese in a lightly battered and fried sandwich, topped with powdered sugar and served with blackberry sauce for dipping is unique and delicious. The sandwich has been served since opening day in 1967, and with over 200 eaten a day, it’s safe to say this is the most popular dish at the Blue Bayou.

The Monte Cristo Sandwich Finally Makes it to Walt Disney World

With the opening of Disney’s Riviera Resort, new restaurant options have been made available, one of those being Bar Riva. This is where we find our new Monte Cristo. There are several differences between this and the original right off the bat: the sandwich is made with Gruyere instead of Swiss cheese, a Brioche roll instead of egg bread (like a sliced white bread), and strawberry preserves instead of blackberry preserves. It’s served with your choice of side for $12.49. The question is whether a twist on a classic is an improvement or a mistake. Time will tell!

The Monte Cristo Sandwich Finally Makes it to Walt Disney World

If you are interested in trying out the Monte Cristo, whether you’ve already sampled the Blue Bayou’s traditional take or not, head over to Bar Riva at Disney’s Riviera Resort. Does it hold up to the hype of its counterpart in California? Let us know what you think of this mouthful!

Possible Hints of What’s Coming to Universal Orlando’s Super Nintendo World

Nintendo

Nintendo

Universal Orlando excited many this year when they announced plans for a future theme park. Epic Universe will be Universal’s next theme park and details are still scarce on what we can expect.

Some recent activity with Orlando permits may shed some light though. Some of the permits filed seem to suggest three possible attractions. Even though it hasn’t been officially announced, it seems Universal may be designing rides based on Mario Kart, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong. Eager fans are waiting for Universal to announce details of their plans once they start construction on the land.

We already know that Universal is constructing a Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan. Although it’s not a certainty, some people expect the Orlando theme park to copy Japan. Universal Parks and Resort Chairman and CEO, Tom Williams, revealed some of the details regarding the Japan park when he held a September press conference. The first phase will include two Nintendo-based rides. Super Mario Kart Ride and Yoshi’s Adventures are expected to open to the public next spring.

Universal does promise the whole land will be immersive and interactive. It’ll be amazing to see video games legends brought to life for guests!

We will be following for details to report in the future.

Candy Hunting found them for $9.00 at their local Hy-Vee, but others have found them for as low as $6.00 at their local stores.

These were kind of quietly launched, so there is no info on if other flavors or shapes will be on the horizon. I would definitely start keeping an eye out at your grocer’s freezer department if you’re a Star Wars fan though!

Are you hoping to get your hands on these epic new Millennium Falcon Ice Cream Sandwiches?
