Robert Zemeckis Is Set To Direct Disney’s “Live-Action” Pinocchio. It’s official and the rumors are true! Having lost multiple directors before production began, it looks like Disney may have finally found a director for the “live-action” remake of the Disney Classic Animated Feature Film, Pinocchio. Robert Zemeckis will direct the featured film for Disney.

According to ComingSoon.net, Disney had approached famed motion capture director, Robert Zemeckis to direct the live-action Pinocchio a few months ago and Zemeckis has since signed on to direct. Zemeckis has many films under his directorial belt including: The Polar Express, Disney’s A Christmas Carol, and Beowulf, and seems to be a natural fit as puppet master for Disney.

ComingSoon.net also shared this description of the original animated film, “The original Pinocchio, based on the 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi, first debuted in theaters in 1940 and won two Academy Awards. In the 1940 Disney-animated film Pinocchio, the lead role was voiced by Dickie Jones, Jiminy Cricket by Cliff Edwards, and Master Geppetto by Christian Rubb… Pinocchio will center on the wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a “real boy,” and the relationship between a father and son, the ramifications of lying and creating stories and living in a fantasy world.”

Disney has yet to share how they plan on bringing the adventurous puppet to life on the big screen, but continues to move forward with the project despite major set backs in production. It is also currently unknown if the “live-action” Pinocchio will premiere in theaters on on Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+.

Carnevale at Maria And Enzos in Disney Springs

It’s the start of Carnevale at Maria and Enzos! They have brought the famous festival from Venice straight to Disney Springs for the second year in a row. Experience culinary delights, glamorous costumes, and a riotous celebration every night throughout February.

Carnevale is great for the whole family as there is live entertainment throughout the whole restaurant. We loved the entertainment from last year so we certainly can not wait to see what this year brings!

As with any good festival, Maria and Enzos are introducing some specific items for Carnevale.

All meals during Carnevale will start with a wonderful Pinzimonio (Italian Crudite) with Giardiniera Cremosa. During the entree portion of the meal, not only will there be homemade bread but also Mamma Marias mini-meatballs! Of course, my personal favorite Carnevale addition is the sweet ending of a Bugie e Chiacchiere (fried sweet pastry).

Truffle and Wine Dinner Coming to Jaleo in Disney Springs

Jaleo at Disney Springs is hosting a special one-night-only Truffle and Wine Dinner event! On Wed, Feb 12, 2020, 6:30 PM, guests can experience an interactive class on truffles followed by an exclusive multi-course dinner with Spanish truffles shaved tableside by Jaleo chefs and Spanish wine pairings.

Each winter, Nacho Ramirez and his specially trained truffle-hunting dog Pepe search the Spanish countryside in pursuit of the best black truffles – about six months old, mouthwateringly fragrant, buried in the rich soil.

Nacho will be flying these truffles to Jaleo at Disney Springs the day they’re discovered, where they will be the star ingredient in nine dishes created by Jaleo Culinary Director Ramon Martinez and Head Chef Rodolfo Guzman.

Expertly paired wines have been hand-selected by Jaleo Sommelier Rafael Delgado and ThinkFoodGroup Sommelier Jordi Paronella to accent the flavors and textures of each dish.

Cast of 2 Hulu Series Joined the Resistance at Disneyland

The stars of the Hulu hit series “Dollface” and upcoming series “Little Fires Everywhere” recently joined the Resistance in a battle against the First Order on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance draws you into a sprawling narrative that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, delivering thrilling action driven by cutting-edge technology and innovative design that gives you the feeling of stepping inside a Star Wars film.

The cast posed for photos then stepped into the Hangar Bay and were awestruck to find 50 stormtroopers ready for their arrival. The fearless Brenda Song even snapped a quick picture before First Order guards detained the new recruits.

After escaping the First Order, they explored Batuu and encountered some notorious rebels. Who can resist a hug from our favorite Wookie, Chewbacca, or a run-in with R2-D2?

You can catch these friendly rebels on HULU. Season 1 of ‘Dollface’ is streaming now and the series ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ premieres on March 18, both only on HULU.

Sneak Peek of Disney Pixar’s Onward Coming to Disney Parks

The next original story from Disney & Pixar is the cute fantasy tale of “Onward“. Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney Pixar’s Onward introduces two teenage elf brothers – Ian & Barley – who embark on an extraordinary quest after being given the chance to spend one more day with their father.

The film is not set to be released until March 6, 2020. But for a limited time beginning Feb. 7th, guests visiting Disney parks will get a sneak peek of scenes from “Onward”. These sneak peeks will be shown in the Tomorrowland Theater at Disneyland park and as part of the Walt Disney Presents attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Guests aboard select Disney Cruise Line sailings in February and early March can also catch this special look at a part of the film.

Check out a special message from Academy Award-winner Octavia Spencer, who plays the Manticore in the film.

This separate ticket event let you have access to Magic Kingdom Park or Disney’s Hollywood Studios before anyone else so you can enjoy some of your favorite attractions without having to worry about those long wait times during the day. Sounds wonderful right?

Begin your day with a trip to Fantasyland! With Early Morning Magic you will have access to this dreamy land and experience attractions like:

“I’m Nemo” Cheesecake is Making a Splash Over at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Just keep swimming your way over to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, where you can find this new delight. It called the “I’m Nemo” Cheesecake. It is sold in the Landscape of Flavors quick-service restaurant. You can locate it in the On-the-go refrigerated section, already pre-packaged for your ease. He is only around for a limited time so catch a wave over soon!

It is your typical traditional cheesecake in a dome shape. The edible glitter makes this dessert look so pretty in that gelatin-like blue oceanic layer. This layer doesn’t really add much flavor component, it’s more for the aesthetic. It has some green buttercream seaweed leaves for decoration and some crunchy pearl bubbles. Nemo himself is made from white chocolate. The gram cracker crust adds the perfect sand element to this underwater treat. If I were a cheesecake person this would be my pick. For those who are fond of cheesecake, it is delicious. It’s almost too adorable to eat. “I’m Nemo” Cheesecake cost $5.99 plus tax.

Nemo with his lucky fin is a fan favorite, and Disney has just come out with a new Pixar themed line of merchandise over at Hollywood Studios with a few new Nemo and Dory items for you to check out. There is also a new Nemo Cupcake over at All-Star Music Intermission Cafe that is creamsicle flavored if you’re like me and cupcakes are more your thing. But to those cheesecake lovers, this dessert will have you saying “Mine, mine, mine!”

Attention American Idol fans, get ready for the new season! The show will be filming the showcase rounds from none other than Disney’s Aulani Resort and Spa. Aulani is located in Ko Olina Hawai’i. The new season of ABC’s hit show will be broadcasting on February 16th, 8 pm-10 pm EST. The Show is set for a Sunday/Monday Schedule. Long loved American Idol is getting ready to start its 18th season in production. It will be the third season in production with ABC, a Disney owned network. It seems only fitting that they would partner with one of Disney’s most dazzling resorts for some of their production.

Current Character Buses in Service at Walt Disney World

The main form of transportation between the hotels and theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort is their bus system. Over the past few months, we’ve seen some great new Disney character buses join the bus service! As of right now, there are 20 Disney character buses in service at Walt Disney World.

Of the Pixar character buses, we’ve seen Monsters Inc., Toy Story, and Cars.

Classic characters include Peter Pan, Cinderella, The Lion King, Moana, Goofy, Pluto, Dumbo, Frozen, Donald & Daisy Duck, and Mickey & Minnie Mouse.

The other Disney character buses in service are Figment, Guardians of the Galaxy, BB-8, and Avatar. Which character bus is your favorite?

It’s A Small World Refurbishment Begins This Month

The happiest cruise that ever sailed!

It’s a small world has been one of the classic attractions at the Magic Kingdom since day one and a favorite for many guests around the world due to its timeless classic song and fantastic visual aesthetic.

This boat ride will take you on a journey along the Seven Seaways Waterway through all seven continents! You will see fantastical scenes representing the iconic sights and sounds of dozens of nations.

If you are visiting the park this month please be aware that a part of the queue area of the attraction will be close for refurbishment starting on January 27. However a temporary entrance has been installed near the Tangled stroller parking area.

It’s a small world will be back to its regular entrance this Spring.

Paige O’Hara Surprises Guests at the ‘Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along’

Yesterday Paige O’Hara, the voice of Belle, surprised guests at a showing of ‘Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along’ in Epcot! Magical moments like this happen occasionally at Walt Disney World and this one did not disappoint.

Paige shared how she loves greeting guests and sharing stories in opening remarks with Walt Disney World Ambassador, Stephen Lim. They then started the tale as old as time by singing a few lines of “Belle” along with the audience.

Paige is also a featured artist at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts and her artwork is on display during the Festival. She will be making appearances Jan. 24 – 27 from 12-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

Along with the sing-along is a new exhibit inside Palais du Cinéma. ‘Tales as Old as Time: French Storytelling on Stage and Screen’ invites guests to explore six distinct gallery cases featuring a collection of costumes, music, artwork and more, all dedicated to the adaptation of French literature in cinema, theater, ballet, and opera.

The exhibit reinforces how French literature has inspired artists from around the globe, including those who created timeless Disney classics such as ‘Sleeping Beauty,’ ‘Cinderella’ and, of course, ‘Beauty and the Beast.’

Items on display from the Walt Disney Archives include a glass slipper from the live-action ‘Cinderella’ film and Belle’s costume from the live-action ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ Community arts organizations from Florida also contributed pieces to the exhibit.
