‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier‘ Disney+ Series Receives 16+ Rating. The highly anticipated Marvel Studios series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is just weeks away from its Disney+ debut and the ratings may surprise you!
This week, Dutch film and television rating authority, Kijkwijzer, shared the upcoming Marvel series has been rated 16+ for “violence” and “coarse language” and will be grittier than previous Marvel shows and series, with comparisons to the storytelling style of the Marvel Netflix series such as Jessica Jones, Daredevil, and Luke Cage.
Disney+ has not shared if The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be removed from young viewers accounts due to the violence and language, but we would not be surprise to see it missing from our kids accounts when it premieres on March 19th.
Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier. The pair, who came together in the final moments of “Avengers: Endgame,” team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience. Directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman serving as head writer, the series also stars Daniel Brühl as Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.

Hong Kong will start to ease strict COVID restrictions starting on Feb. 18, re-opening sports and entertainment facilities and extending dining hours, Health Secretary Sophia Chan said on Wednesday, as the city logged a steady decline in daily cases.
Chan said catering businesses would be able to operate until 10 pm, granting them an additional four hours. Beauty salons, theme parks, cinemas and all sports facilities would be allowed to resume with conditions in place.
“We are cautiously optimistic on the pandemic,” Chan told a news conference, adding that she hoped the city could quickly get back on its feet.
New cases have fallen to below 30 a day from over 80 at the end of January.
Hong Kong Disneyland closed for the 3rd time back in December of 2020 due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. With the Government easing restrictions does this mean we can expect to see Hong Kong Disneyland reopen on the 18th?
No official word has been posted to the HK Disneyland website at this time. We will closely monitor the reopening and share details here on Chip and Co as soon as we have them!

Construction walls are up and around Peter Pan’s Flight in the Magic Kingdom! It seems a section of Peter Pan’s Flight is receiving a makeover of some kind as construction walls have been erected around parts of the attraction.
Similar to the construction walls around It’s A Small World attraction also at the Magic Kingdom, we wonder if Peter Pan is receiving a lick of paint in preparation for the 50th Anniversary of the Magic Kingdom!
As you can see from our video below, the walls are surrounding the queue from around the corner of the main façade of Peter Pan’s Flight.
The construction walls appear to continue round to where the Neverland mural, also known as Peter Pan’s meet and greet spot. Now, guests are required to queue along the construction walls instead. It seems for now that only this section of the attraction has construction walls as the nursery section of the queue is still in use!
We hypothesize that the construction walls up around Peter Pan’s Flight is only to complete a small touch up/ refurbishment as Peter Pan received an extensive refurbishment back in 2019. Many remember the attraction closed for a month. The classic ride did not undergo any major changes during the refurbishment, and only received a quick ‘refresh’, of paint and other effects which will please all that love the classic, nostalgic feeling it provides.
Construction continues around Walt Disney World, including the highly anticipated Tron Coaster as well as the major construction of EPCOT- both Future World and World Showcase!

Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter Resorts at Walt Disney World have been closed since last spring. The hotels originally closed due to the ongoing pandemic and have yet to reopen.
Both resort hotels remain closed and neither are on the schedule for reopening this year. The hotels that are on the list to reopen this year are Disney’s All Star Movies Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts are some of our favorite moderate resorts. We hope they can reopen soon!

Another dining location in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort is reopening soon! Now that California’s stay-at-home order has ended, the Starbucks in the Downtown Disney District will open next week.
If you are in Downtown Disney, you can see a sign posted on the Starbucks door announcing the reopening. Also, the Disneyland website shows that the location will be open on February 15 from 10 am to 8 pm.
It’s important to note there are two Starbucks locations in Downtown Disney. The one reopening next Monday is the one closest to the World of Disney store. The Starbucks location inside Disney California Adventure, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe, is still closed.
The hotels joining the Walt Disney World Gateway Hotel collection are: Residence Inn by Marriott at Western Entrance, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott at Western Entrance, Homewood Suites by Hilton at Western Entrance and Home2 Suites by Hilton at Western Entrance.
These properties can be booked both online and by calling the Disney Reservation Center.
