A new trailer, poster introduces audiences to Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Encanto,” the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charming place called an Encanto. The all-new original film features the voice of Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel, an ordinary 15-year-old who’s struggling to find her place in her family. “Mirabel is a really funny, loving character who also deeply yearns for something more,” says Beatriz. “She’s also not afraid to stand up for what she knows is right—something I love and relate to very much.

“I’m Colombian on my father’s side, and playing this role fills me with immense pride,” continues Beatriz. “As a Disney kid, I’d burn through my VHS tapes and adored every single magical story that the world of Disney introduced me to. I learned in those that stories that anything is possible, especially if you believe in magic and the goodness rooted deep inside us all.”

We have to say this is well earned! From a DVC standpoint, Riviera is top-notch and one of the most beautiful resorts on Disney World property.

Bonjour!

One of my favorite places at Walt Disney World Resort is Disney’s Riviera Resort. Whether I am discovering a piece of artwork for the first time, imagining myself exploring the Riviera, or witnessing the excitement of guests as the Disney Skyliner whisks them away to EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I am truly amazed by Disney Vacation Club’s newest resort.

Excellence Awarded to Disney’s Riviera Resort

Today, I’m excited to share with you that the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) has presented Disney Vacation Club with its ACE Project of Excellence Award for Disney’s Riviera Resort. One of ARDA’s most prestigious recognitions, this award recognizes the highest levels of excellence in the resort industry, taking into account the design of the resort, day-to-day operations, and more!

Disney’s Riviera Resort

This honor recognizes all the amazing “Disney Differences” that make Disney’s Riviera Resort a special place for Members and guests. What do I mean by “Disney Differences”? Well, it’s all in our attention to the details, design, storytelling … and of course, the service of our amazing cast members! “Inspired by Europe and imagined by Disney,” this beautiful resort pays tribute to Walt and Lillian Disney’s amazing European travels and celebrates the artistry of the Riviera with elegant architecture, stylish accommodations, and, of course, delicious food. Speaking of which, you must try Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera during your next visit. With gorgeous rooftop views of Walt Disney World Resort and a menu influenced by French and Italian fare, it’s certainly an experience not to miss!

My tip for every first-time visitor to Disney’s Rivera Resort is to be sure to allow plenty of time for exploration! You will not want to leave without seeing the two 20-foot-high mosaic murals that line the tunnel to the Disney Skyliner station, especially those of you who are fans of “Tangled” and “Peter Pan”! If you have little ones in tow, be sure to visit S’il Vous Play where young guests splash and play in a whimsical fountain amid beloved characters from Disney’s “Fantasia.” And did you know that more than 40 signature art pieces were created for Disney’s Riviera Resort featuring unique Disney character art inspired by the renowned artistic heritage found along the shores of the European Riviera? How many do you think you can find on your next visit?

Disney supports US Travel Association to reopen International Travel

Disney supports US Travel Association to reopen International Travel

The U.S. Travel Association, which Disney is a part of, is urging the federal government to lift international travel restrictions. The Association joined with 23 other trade organizations to propose a new policy framework.

“A Framework To Safely Lift Entry Restrictions And Restart International Travel” includes the following 3 guiding principles:

  • Reserve entry restrictions for only the highest-risk countries.
  • Replace all other blanket travel restrictions with a framework of risk-based entry protocols.
    • Country-Level Risk Assesment
    • Implement entry protocols based on individual risk profile
  • Ensure the framework is easy to understand, communicate, and implement.

Short-term opportunities listed in the framework are:

  • Quickly lift entry restrictions and reopen travel between the U.S. and the United Kingdom (UK)
  • Quickly allow fully vaccinated individuals from non-high-risk countries to enter the U.S
  • Ease entry restrictions by July 15, 2021, when the U.S. is forecast to achieve widespread immunity and sustained declines in infections and hospitalizations

“The travel industry agrees that being guided by the science is absolutely the correct approach, and the science has been telling us for some time that it’s possible to begin to safely reopen international travel,” said U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow. “Our document continues to prioritize safety while providing a roadmap for solving for the billions of dollars in economic damage resulting from the continued restrictions on crossing our borders, in particular from allied countries with similar vaccination rates. We have the knowledge and the tools we need to restart international travel safely, and it is past time that we use them.”

Airlines for America President and CEO Nicholas E. Calio added that U.S. airlines are strong advocates for a risk-based, data-driven approach to safely resuming international travel. Research has consistently determined the risk of COVID-19 transmission onboard aircraft is very low. Calio said, “The science is clear—it is time, if not past the time, for the U.S. Government to take action and reopen travel between the U.S. and low-risk countries.”

Walt Disney World has been a popular destination for international travelers in the past. Reopening international travel will boost the U.S. economy as well as Disney’s business.

Kevin Feige Says Long-Term Movie Deals Are Done at Marvel Studios

Kevin Feige Says Long-Term Movie Deals Are Done at Marvel Studios. One major aspect that allowed the MCU to truly come to fruition was the willingness by the original cast members such as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and more to stick out for long term movie deals with Marvel Studios, but now that the original cast members are moving on in their lives and careers the film studio is looking to evolve their casting arrangements as well.

According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, the studio is looking to have fairer deals with their cast members and allow for story elements to change without the worry of contractual obligations for both Marvel Studios and the new or established actors.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about the future of Marvel Studios and the MCU in general, Feige shared, “[Long term deals] got a lot of attention way back when, with I think Scarlett [Johansson], and [Chris] Hemsworth and [Chris] Evans and Sam Jackson. It varies now.”

The Marvel Studios head added the studio “would throw theme park attractions” into talent deals nowadays, referencing appearances like Tom Holland in the new Avengers Campus attraction WEB Slingers in Disneyland. “It varies, project to project, cast to cast,” Feige added. “Really, what we want are people that come in, are excited to be in the universe, are excited at the opportunity to do more things, as opposed to being locked into contractual obligations.”

In the last year or so, many Marvel Stars have shared the nervous feeling of not knowing what’s on the table when it comes to their future in the MCU, particularly the cast members of WandaVision such as Paul Bettany (Vision) and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha Harkness) who are both in a holding pattern until the studio says otherwise. Other actors such as Elizabeth Olsen, Brie Larson, Tom Holland, and Anthony Mackie are currently signed on for multiple projects, but will likely be some of the last of the MCU actors to maintain long-term contracts with Marvel Studios.
