Get ready for a friendship fest! International Friendship Day is July 30th! Hong Kong Disneyland Resort has decided to pull out all the stops in celebrating, with a special spotlight on the “Sensational Six.” The celebration will include a new show and exclusive merchandise. Note: this party is best shared with a few friends!

One event, in particular, is irreplaceable. A live musical performance from the Disneyland Band and Parade Performers, as well as Mickey Mouse and his pals! It’s a one-time-only surprise at the Castle of Magical Dreams. Mickey and the gang will all be dressed in their 15th Anniversary outfits, all set to give guests a great show!

Another great show to catch is the all-new Castle Show “Follow Your Dreams.” Part of Hong Kong Disneyland’s 15th-anniversary celebration, this musical centers on Mickey and his friends as they encourage everyone to follow their dreams. This original show will feature the Castle of Magical Dreams as the backdrop. It’s 20 minutes of live outdoor entertainment, filled with fresh songs and classic Disney characters.

Don’t forget to grab some cute new clothes for your nuiMOs while you’re visiting! The recently-released Graduation Series is only available at Hong Kong Disneyland. Whether you’re a recent graduate or you know someone who is, your nuiMOs can sport a matching outfit!

Disney to host Live Stream from the Jungle Cruise World Premiere in Disneyland

Tomorrow Disneyland will be hosting the Jungle Cruise World Premiere! The premiere will be live-streamed on Disney Parks Blog for all to watch tomorrow, July 24 at 6:45 p.m. PT | 9:45 p.m. ET. The event will also be featured live on @Disneyland Facebook and Twitter channels, as well as @DisneyParksBlog Facebook and @DisneyParks Twitter channels.

When Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” officially premieres on July 30, you’ll be able to join fan favorites Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt for the adventure of a lifetime on a rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. The world-famous Jungle Cruise at Disneyland park features new adventures, an expanded storyline and more humor as skippers take you on a tongue-in-cheek journey along some of the most remote rivers around the world. All Disney World Resorts now available for booking

All Disney World Resorts now available for booking

Walt Disney World has been reopening in phases and not all resort hotels have been available for guests. Now, all Walt Disney World resorts are available to book! While some have not yet reopened, booking is available for travel dates in the near future.

Walt Disney World Cast & Community shared on Facebook that more cast members are returning to their home resorts. The post reads:

“More “All-Star” Cast Members will be returning to their home locations this fall as we have begun bookings for both Disney’s All-Star Music and Disney’s All-Star Sports Resorts. With the opening of these resorts, we will have successfully reopened ALL of our Disney Resort hotels by the end of 2021. We’re so excited for the returning Cast Members across our World and can’t wait to welcome Guests back for magical stays.”

All Walt Disney World Resort hotels will be reopened by the end of the year! Things are getting back to normal and we are loving it.

Big Easy Summer Quinoa Salad Inspired By Tiana!

In the south land, there’s a city with delicious food like this Big Easy Summer Quinoa Salad!

Dole created a dish inspired by Tiana from Princess and The Frog that makes a great food option to have this summer. You can have it as a main meal or a side dish, it works both ways!

It’s a great way to add a healthier option to your meals making them more magical, after all Tiana is an expert when it comes to super tasty food! Want to recreate this at home? Just follow this recipe below and have fun:

BIG EASY SUMMER QUINOA SALAD

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup of drained and rinsed no salt added garbanzo beans
1 tbsp plus 1 tsp of olive oil
1/2 tsp of Cajun seasoning
1 cup of quinoa
1 1/2 tbsp of Creole mustard
1 tbsp of honey
1 tbsp of white wine vinegar
1/2 tsp of kosher salt
1 Dole avocado, peeled, pitted and chopped
2 cups of loosely packed Dole arugula
1 cup halved cherry tomatoes

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat oven to 425F.
Toss beans, 1 tsp of oil and seasoning in a medium bowl; spread in a single layer on a rimmed baking pan. Roast 25 minutes or until golden brown and crisp; cool completely.
Prepare quinoa as label directs; cool completely.
Whisk mustard, honey, vinegar, salt and remaining 1 tbsp of oil in a large bowl; fold in avocado, arugula, tomatoes and quinoa. Makes about 6 cups.
Serve salad sprinkled with beans.

Pianist to return to Casey's Corner per job listing

Casey’s Corner recently reopened in Magic Kingdom (yay!) but we haven’t seen the return of the pianist playing outside. However, the pianist may be returning soon as Disney has posted a job listing for “Ragtime Pianists for Casey’s Corner”! The Disney Careers website says Disney is looking for a full-time pianist and sub pianists.

“Disney Live Entertainment is seeking experienced Pianist for Casey’s Corner; performed outdoors at the Magic Kingdom® near Orlando, FL. This audition is to cast ONE Full-Time Musician as well as idendify Sub Performers.”

The description of the position is as follows:

“As you walk down Main Street U.S.A., a fanciful surprise awaits—a live outdoor piano performance. Featuring swell ragtime tunes from a bygone era, these syncopated stylings will have you tapping your toes. When folks start to gather around, don’t be surprised if they start to croon along. Between ditties, this proficient pianist may entertain you with one-liners and zingers. This ivory tickler is a real hoot!”

Requirements for the role include being 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States as well as submitting a ragtime medley up to 1 minute long. Applying for this role is a 2-step process. Applicants must submit a medley as well as audition online. Submissions are accepted through July 30, 2021, and callbacks will be scheduled for August 9, 2021.

Disney World Extending Theme Park Hours for August & September

Happy news for all Walt Disney World visitors during August and September! Hours have been extended at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios! On select dates, you’ll be able to stay out and celebrate at the parks even longer.

Magic Kingdom

August 2nd through 7th and August 13th and 14th, Magic Kingdom will open at 8 AM. This is instead of the usual 9 AM. The park will be closing at the same time as usual.

EPCOT

Disney World Extending Theme Park Hours for August & September

August 7th and 14th, EPCOT is set to open at 10 AM instead of 11 AM. September 3rd through 5th, 10th through 12th, 17th through 19th, and 24th 26th, it will be closing at 10 PM instead of 9 PM.

Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 8 PM instead of 7 PM on August 7th and 14th.

Hollywood Studios

Starting August 1st, Hollywood Studios will open one hour later at 9 PM. It will continue to open at 9 AM. This will continue through September 28th, according to the Disney World Calendar.

Walt Disney World knows how to accommodate their summer guests! Whether you’re traveling in from another state (or country!) or utilizing that Annual Pass, you’ll want to be sure and maximize your time at the parks while you can. The happiest place on earth is ready to make your summer great!

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind Construction from the Epcot Monorail

Construction seems to be coming along nicely at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. This new enclosed roller coaster at Epcot should be unlike anything before. The ride will be the second-fastest indoor roller coaster and include reverse launching!

The Twitter account @bioreconstruct offers a new look at the construction progress.

At Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind the adventure will start in the “Galaxarium,” a planetarium-like exhibition that explores the similarities and mysteries of the formation of Earth’s galaxy and Xandar. You’ll be invited to learn more about Xandar’s treasures in the beginning. Then the Guardians of the Galaxy arrive, which means chaos erupts and an adventure across the cosmos will ensue.

The Omnicoaster is a first-of-its-kind programmable roller coaster ride system. What that means is guests can be rotated along the ride track in any direction while traveling at high speeds. The Omnicoaster name builds upon the tradition of the Omnimover ride system in which Walt Disney Imagineers are able to turn guests in any direction and focus their attention on a specific scene or element.

We’re certainly looking forward to this new roller coaster adventure!

Orlando Magical Dining Returns This August With Some Disney World Restaurants Participating

We’re about a month away from one of Orlando’s best events for foodies: Magical Dining! August 27th through October 3rd, restaurants included in the experience will offer a three-course, prix-fixe dinner for just $37 per person. Several Disney restaurants will be participating in the 16th anniversary of this returning favorite.

Orlando Magical Dining Returns This August With Some Disney World Restaurants Participating

While restaurants will continue to be added to the list of participating locations, we already have quite a few exciting locales included! The Disney restaurants currently featured on the website are Paddlefish, JALEO, Terralina Crafted Italian, and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at Disney Springs, as well as Disney resort restaurants Todd English’s BlueZoo and Il Mulino.

Currently, there are 73 participating restaurants in Orlando. Each one will donate $1 from each meal to Pathlight HOME and IDignity. These charities both help to combat homelessness in Central Florida. A great dinner for an even better cause! And if you want to make a getaway out of the event, select hotels will be providing special rates this time only. Visit Orlando’s Magical Nights extends your dinner into an entire weekend of fun!

Reservations are recommended but not required. To get the special Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining menu, it must be requested upon arrival. Tax and gratuity are not included in the $37 price. Today’s news should put a smile on your face… The Cheshire Café in the Magic Kingdom will be reopening on July 26th!

As you can see on the Disney World Website they will be open starting on July 26th from 9 am to 7 pm.

In celebration of the reopening, they will have a new slushy drink available, the Curiouser and Curiouser Slushy. it is made with Minute Maid Frozen Premium Lemonade and Fanta Blue Raspberry topped with Whipped Cream for only $5.99.
