Spring is in full-bloom and in addition to the flowers we are seeing a handful of new food items popping up on menus around Epcot.
We begin at The Land Pavillion where Sunshine Seasons is cooking up something new for breakfast: a Breakfast Croissant Sandwich and Breakfast Broccoli and Egg-White Soufflé. The Breakfast Croissant Sandwich is a stack of egg, bacon and Colby Jack cheese on a flaky croissant with a side of breakfast potatoes. The Breakfast Broccoli and Egg-White Soufflé is served with a multigrain croissant and fresh fruit.
For lunch, you can now order the Rotisserie Turkey Breast Club Sandwich, which is packed full of roasted turkey breast, bacon jam, and avocado spread served on fresh ciabatta; the Tuna Poke Salad, a noodle and wakame seaweed salad with tuna poke, spicy mayo, and sweet soy; or the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich served with coleslaw and a pickle.
Venture over to Electric Umbrella and you’ll be able to choose from a Mojo Pulled Pork Burger, a Brisket Sandwich, or the Vegetable Quinoa Salad. The Mojo Pulled Pork Burger is served with cilantro and lime aïoli and the Brisket Sandwich is topped with a beer cheese sauce. The Vegetable Quinoa Salad is made up of quinoa, pickled carrots, riced cauliflower, cucumbers, cabbage, edamame, tomatoes and agave-lime dressing.
Hop over to World Showcase and head straight to Refreshment Port where you’ll find two new poutine offerings: Traditional Poutine and Signature Poutine. Traditional Poutine is made up of french fries smothered with beef gravy and cheese curds. The Signature Poutine consists of french fries covered in Canadian cheddar-bacon sauce and cheese curds. You’ll still be able to grab a “Cronut” and top it with soft-serve ice cream if you wish. Or if you’re in the mood to spice things up, try the specialty Bloody Mary.
Walk toward the back of World Showcase and head to the American Adventure. You’ll find that Liberty Inn now has Fried Shrimp, a Fried Chicken Sandwich, and Cobb Salad on the menu.The Fried Chicken Sandwich is packed with lettuce, pimento cheese, and smoked bacon. The Cobb Salad is served with warm chicken, avocado, green apples, tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, cucumbers, bacon, blue cheese and a sherry vinaigrette dressing. Two new desserts have also made the menu: a Marshmallow Cookie Crunch Cupcake and an Apple Pie Cheesecake.
Our last stop is in Norway, where you will find the Midnattsol Bakeri open for business where the Norwegian Club Sandwich and the Viking Dog make their debut. The Norwegian Club Sandwich is a stack of turkey, ham, bacon, Muenster, Jarlsberg, red onion, tomatoes, and lingonberry mayo on toasted multigrain bread. The Viking Dog is a beef hot dog topped with pulled pork, bacon, fried onions, purple cabbage and spicy mayo. If you’re looking for dessert, you’ll be able to find the popular Norwegian treats such as Lefse, School Bread, Chocolate Pretzels and Anna’s Birthday Cake.
Between all of the new food offerings and the Outdoor Kitchens at the Flower and Garden Festival (available through May 28) you may have a difficult time deciding what to eat next. However, we don’t think you can go wrong in terms of food when you’re at Epcot.
