Walt Disney World Hiring Thousands for Summer Season

The summer season at Walt Disney World always draws the crowds. To prepare for one of the busiest summer seasons yet, Disney announced it will be hiring over 3,000 people through May. Disney will host hiring events for the different positions available.

Housekeeping Hiring Days and Job Fair are every Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with extended hours on Wednesday, May 9th from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Hiring for Housekeeping, including application processing and interviews, will take place at the Walt Disney World Resort Casting Center near Disney Springs.

If you are interested in the world of Disney food, the Culinary Job Fair will be on Monday, April 23rd at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Different culinary areas will be hiring and candidates will have the opportunity to meet and interview with Disney chefs.

The Lifeguard Job Fair will be held on Saturday, April 21st at Mickey’s Retreat on Lake Forest Drive as well as Wednesday, May 2nd at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. Swim tests and interviews will be given to applicants age 16 and older.

Disney is also hiring new drivers at the Bus Driver Online Job Fair. Candidates can apply online to join the team.

All of these summer positions are either full time, part time or seasonal and many come with signing bonuses up to $3000. Full time positions also include insurance (medical, vision and dental) as well as paid time off.

Walt Disney World Resort is Florida’s biggest employer and it’s no secret that they are growing. With Toy Story Land opening this summer and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge scheduled for 2019, many new cast members will be needed to help make the guest experience truly magical. Earth Day is tomorrow and the Walt Disney World Resort is getting ready to celebrate throughout the property! Starting tomorrow you will have the chance to sink your teeth into one of these Disney Earth Day burgers.

These plant-based Disney Earth Day burgers will be served at Nomad Lounge and Restaurantosaurus. Nomad Lounge will be cooking up Impossible Burger Sliders which are served with a tomato chutney, smoked onion, brioche bun and come with a side of yucca fries. Restaurantosaurus will offer the Impossible Burger which comes with tomato and avocado on a brioche bun.

You’ll be able to try either of these Disney Earth Day burgers during Party for the Planet at Disney’s Animal Kingdom through May 5th.

Hong Kong Disneyland to Celebrate Disney Explorers Lodge’s First Anniversary

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is launching exclusive offers for Hong Kong residents to celebrate the first anniversary of Disney Explorers Lodge. Special rates from HK$1,188 for a one night stay at any of the resort’s hotels are introduced exclusively to locals. The offers are available for booking between Apr 16 and Apr 29, and valid check-in dates are from May 1 to Jun 30^. Bookings can be made on HKDL’s website https://www.hongkongdisneyland.com/offers-discounts/disney-explorers-lodge-first-anniversary-hkr/. Magic Access Members also enjoy an extra special discount of HK$100 per night via Magic Access Member Site!
Hotel guests celebrating their birthdays in May and June during their stay will enjoy free park admission and a series of exclusive park ticket offers for their family and friends*.

“The exclusive offers are introduced specially to celebrate the first anniversary of Disney Explorers Lodge together with all Hong Kong residents. A new Express Online Check-in Service will also be launched in the second half of April for the three resort hotels, as part of the resort’s ongoing efforts to enhance service standards. Guests can enjoy their stay making the most of their time at HKDL.

Wang added that the new service would streamline the check-in process to four simple steps. After booking a room, guests can complete online check-in within seven days prior to arrival date. On the check-in day, they can head straight to the hotel front desk to provide a deposit, collect the key card for their rooms, and begin to enjoy their stay comfortably.

Disney Explorers Lodge officially opened on Apr 30, 2017. With 750 hotel rooms and nearly 70% of the rooms interconnected, the hotel themed after exotic cultures is an ideal resort location for gatherings of friends and families as well as sizable private or corporate parties. Wang believed that complemented by facilities and recreational activities in the resort’s two other hotels as well as new attractions and fun-filled seasonal offerings at the park, the resort is best placed to offer an all-around “staycation” experience, further cementing the resort’s position as a premier family-friendly tourist destination in the region.
