The Shanghai Disney Resort Beauty and the Beast production is coming to the Walt Disney Grand Theatre! Starting on June 14th the story that has captured the hearts and imaginations of more than 35 million people around the world since its Broadway premiere in 1994 will delight guests of the Shanghai Disney Resort for the first time.
At a recent media event actresses Guo Yao-Rong and Xu Meng, who play Belle and Mrs. Potts respectively, gave touching performances of some of the show’s key musical numbers. They were accompanied by Music Director Sun Yu-Zhou. The Beast and Gaston also made appearances, as well as Scenic Designer Stanley A. Meyer and Associate Director Sam Scalamoni. This sneak peek for media was made complete with the dazzling costumes that will appear on stage for guests in just a few short weeks.
Belle’s iconic ball gown, which was specially designed for the production by award-winning designer Ann Hould-Ward, was also on display. Hould-Ward received a Tony Award for her role designing costumes for the original musical.

Disney Channel has ordered a third season of the Emmy® Award-nominated animated adventure comedy Tangled: The Series, which will premiere its second season with the new title “Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure,” SUNDAY, JUNE 24 (8:00 a.m., EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel, the DisneyNOW app and Disney Channel VOD.
The series’ talented voice cast; including Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi as the beloved Rapunzel and Eugene, as well as Eden Espinosa, James Monroe-Iglehart and Jeremy Jordan as fan-favorites Cassandra, Lance, and Varian; are set to return. Children will also have access to the Oceaneer Lab where they can play and learn through imaginative activities and games. Meet The Edison’s Electric Garden Impossible Burger. This lovely burger is being featured as the June burger of the month at this Disney Springs restaurant. Here is our review of this unique burger offering.
The Electric Garden Impossible Burger features the popular vegan ‘Impossible Burger’ and actually looks like a beef burger on the outside with a pink middle representing what you might expect a medium-rare burger to look like. The patty itself is very good and if you are a fan of tempura, then this is definitely the burger for you. Here are the facts about this incredible burger:
The Edison’s regular Impossible Burger is topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion, on a Kaiser roll. It is always on the menu while other burgers in the monthly series are exclusively offered during that particular month.
The Edison’s Electric Garden Burger featuring the Impossible Burger patty is topped with tempura fried avocados, mushrooms, local sweet and spicy pickles, and harissa cocktail sauce.
The patty sizzles like real beef in the pan.
It is 100% meatless and made entirely from plants (patty itself is vegan).
It’s nut-free, and dairy-free, but contains gluten and soy.
The meaty flavor comes from a combination of ingredients, but mainly it comes from heme – a molecule found in all living things that gives meat (and our burger) it’s unmistakably meaty flavor.
The Impossible Burger matches the levels of protein and iron found in beef. It has about the same calories, less total fat (with slightly higher saturated fat from coconut oil) and is completely cholesterol-free.
It’s primarily made from wheat protein, potato protein, coconut oil, and heme (the molecule that gives meat its color and flavor).
Ingredients consist of the following: Water, Textured Wheat Protein, Coconut Oil, Potato Protein, Natural Flavors, 2% or less of: Leghemoglobin (soy), Yeast Extract, Salt, Soy Protein Isolate, Konjac Gum, Xanthan Gum, Thiamin (Vitamin B1), Zinc, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Vitamin B12. Contains: Soy, Wheat.
The Impossible Burger is remarkably more efficient when compared to beef and uses 95% less land, 74% less water and creates 87% less greenhouse gas emissions. To put it into perspective that’s equal to one 10-minute shower, 14 driving miles, and 75 square feet of land.
In addition to The Electric Garden Impossible Burger, we also sampled additional food and cocktail items from the menu.
We started with the very popular ‘Time Turner’. Made with Cruzan White Rum, Campari, Lime Juice, Pineapple and Orgeat this beautiful libation is absolutely delicious. Lucky for us, this drink contains fresh pineapple so it is healthy right? For Beer Lovers, the ‘Funky Buddha Floridian Hefeweizen’ is a German-style beer that is certain to tempt your palate. ‘The Clock Strikes Orange’ cocktail features Hendrick’s Gin, Aperol, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup and Absinthe Wash. If you like a strong drink (it does contain Absinthe after all!) then this is an excellent option with a nice citrus flavor. ‘The Edison’ is another cocktail that offers a punch. Featuring Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Belle de Brillet Pear Brandy, Lemon and Honey Cordial, this beverage will likely be the reason you hand your car keys over to your designated driver. Our table favorite beverage was ‘A Hand In Thyme’. This newest Signature Cocktail mixes Nolet’s Gin, Blueberry Cordial, Lemon Juice, Green Chartreuse and Thyme. This gorgeous beverage will be calling us back to The Edison in the very near future!
We had two appetizers and enjoyed them both. The DB ‘Clothesline Candied Bacon’ and the Deviled Eggs are found on the “Share & Nibbles” section of the menu. The bacon was our table favorite as it provided a wonderful combination of sweet and savory flavors.
The Electric Garden Impossible Burger arrived with sides of Fries, Asparagus and Electric-Fries. All of these options were good and offered a variety of flavors. If you are not a fan of Tempura then we recommend ordering The Impossible Burger, which is always on the menu. One of our table mates did not care for the tempura vegetables on the burger. They just took those pieces off and then thoroughly enjoyed the burger.
Dessert is a must at The Edison. From traditional Key Lime Tarts and the Cheesecake Lollipop Tree to the warm and tasty Apple Cobbler, there is sure to be something on the menu to please every member of the family.
The Edison also features its own style of entertainment that is sure to catch your attention. You will see entertainers meandering through the restaurant and stopping at tables, as well as Live Band performances. Ask Rory about her “inventions” and she will be happy to tell you all about them!
We had a fabulous evening at The Edison. The new Electric Garden Impossible Burger is just one of the many reasons to head over to this venue. The cocktails and beverages are fantastic; while the setting is eclectic and fun. Summer vacation may be just around the corner, but I’m always looking for cute ways to get organized. Sure my office is already a mix of Disney Princesses, Mickey and Minnie, but I’m always happy to add more Disney! These Mickey Mouse Folders are bright and colorful, and sure to make filing less boring.

Discovery Cove in Orlando offers guests an all-inclusive day resort that promises to be laid back and enjoyable at the same time. The relaxation and fun are about to go to an all new level of amazing with two new experiences that are to be rolled out this Summer.
The first new experience is Relaxation Massages that will make Discovery Cove even more tranquil. Guests of the new Oasis Spa enter a special spa cabana that overlooks the peaceful waters of the park’s Freshwater Oasis and indulge in a 25-minute massage performed by a licensed therapist. The tranquil sounds of nature only add to the experience, and solo and couple’s massages are available to guests ages 18 and older. Spa sessions are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis as guests arrive at the park each morning. A 25-minute session starts at $59, but guests can reserve-back-to-back slots and upgrade to a 50-minute session if they prefer. Massages here are done with a special jojoba oil that has a similar pH to human skin and is non-allergenic. Best of all, though, jojoba oil is animal-friendly, which is essential at a park where the animal inhabitants greatly outnumber their human guests.
Meanwhile, the park’s new Animal Trek program gives guests the chance to explore behind the scenes and get to know Discovery Cove’s animal residents even better, adding to the level of adventure. To get a better look at and a true understanding of many of those animal residents, guests ages 6 and older can join a 9o-minute Animal Trek tour with Discovery Cove animal experts, who take participants behind the scenes to interact with many of the park’s birds and small mammals. The new experience includes a private tour of the Explorer’s Aviary, where guests can feed and handle birds, and a special viewing opportunity in the Freshwater Oasis, where participants have a special experience with the park’s family of playful otters. Each tour also includes the possibility of interacting with an anteater and a sloth, two of the park’s most popular small mammals. (All interactions are dependent on the animals’ interest in participating, but in general this tour will be full of great photo opportunities.) Woven into the experience are need-to-know facts about the risks of illegal exotic pet trade, bird longevity and the Species Survival Plan that is so important to Discovery Cove and its sister parks, aquariums and zoos. The experience starts at $79 per person, and guests ages 6 to 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult. There will be two 90-minute sessions each day, with each tour limited to just 12 guests.
The Animal Trek is among the new experiences Discovery Cove has introduced in response to guests’ requests for more interaction with animals. Last summer the park introduced Ray Feeding and Shark Swim programs, giving guests the opportunity to spend time in the water with some of the world’s most misunderstood sea creatures. During the Ray Feeding session, which takes place early in the morning just as the park is opening, guests hand-feed playful rays and get a private tour of the Grand Reef, which is home to the rays and thousands of tropical fish. In the Shark Swim program, guests meet with the park’s shark team and get to see the animals up close, learning about their anatomy and the threats the animals face in the wild. As a second part of the experience, guests can join the sharks in the deeper part of their habitat, embarking on an exhilarating snorkel experience that allows them to swim above sharks and sometimes even come face-to-face with them. Discovery Cove donates 5 percent of the proceeds from Shark Swim to the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation, which conducts scientific research and hosts educational programs aimed at conserving the marine environment.
With all that adventure, it’s no wonder that the spa cabana has already proven to be a popular new addition to a day at Discovery Cove. For those looking for a little piece of paradise, the park is introducing 12 spacious daybeds. Starting at $79 and able to accommodate up to four people, this is the perfect place to lay out in comfort and catch some rays with your group. The park also offers private cabanas that come complete with tables and chairs, overhead fan, private locker, fresh towels, stocked refrigerator and – perhaps best of all – a cabana host who ensures your every need is met.
Each of these experiences adds an extra level of exclusivity to a trip to Discovery Cove, which only admits 1,300 guests each day. This paradise of rocky lagoons, tropical reefs, winding rivers, and pristine white-sand beaches is a lushly landscaped park that feels more like a secluded island than an easily accessible attraction in America’s vacation capital. A day’s admission includes breakfast and lunch, unlimited beverages and snacks, lockers, animal-safe sunscreen, snorkel gear, and parking. Now that it’s June, it’s time to officially kick of Summer! Paddlefish in Disney Springs just announced a series of events in June to help you get in a Summer-state-of-mind.
Starting on Tuesday June 12, Paddlefish will be hosting wine tastings the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month through September. Their in-house Sommelier team will lead these tastings on the rooftop deck and wine flights will be served with light bites and tastings. Guests must be 21+ to attend. Wednesday June 13, the celebrations continue for Paddlefish’s 2018 Orlando Magazine Dining Awards win as “Best Seafood Restaurant” with a decadent 5-course wine pairing dinner showcasing the Best of Paddlefish. Guests will be greeted on Paddlefish’s 360 view rooftop with Mini Maine Lobster Rolls and champagne before diving into carefully crafted dishes that feature fresh catches, full flavors and fabulous wine. The following Wednesday, June 20, guests can satisfy their sweet tooth and cool off from the summer heat while celebration National Vanilla Milkshake Day! All day, Paddlefish will be offering their famous vanilla brownie milkshake for just $5.

Production is underway for “Descendants 3,” and here’s the first behind-the-scenes photo from the set of “Descendants 3” featuring the four VKs (villain kids) in their new looks. Earlier this year “Descendants” fans received confirmation of the long-awaited news of a “Descendants 3” movie. The intriguing message, featuring “Mal”(daughter of Maleficent), alludes to a new villain character–Mal’s father –joining the hugely popular story of the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains. “Descendants 3” is kicking off production in Vancouver, Canada this summer for a debut next year on Disney Channel. Emmy Award and DGA Award-winning director Kenny Ortega (“Descendants,” “High School Musical” trilogy) is the director, executive producer and choreographer.
Reprising their roles are: Dove Cameron as Mal, Cameron Boyce as Carlos, Sofia Carson as Evie, Booboo Stewart as Jay, Mitchell Hope as King Ben and China Anne McClain as Uma. Additional casting for “Descendants 3” will be announced at a later date.
