Sink Your Teeth Into The Edison’s June Burger – The Electric Garden Burger Featuring “The Impossible Burger.”

The Edison's

The Edison's

If you have plans to visit Disney Springs and Walt Disney World this month, make sure to stop by The Edison and check out their burger-of-the-month for June – The Electric Garden Burger featuring “The Impossible Burger.” The Edison’s Electric Garden Burger is made with the “Impossible Burger” patty and topped with tempura fried avocados, mushrooms, local sweet and spicy pickles, and harissa cocktail sauce.

The “Impossible Burger” is 100% meatless and made entirely from plants (patty itself is vegan). It’s nut-free, and dairy-free, but contains gluten and soy. The meaty flavor comes from a combination of ingredients, but mainly it comes from heme – a molecule found in all living things that give meat (and the burger) it’s unmistakably meaty flavor. It’s juicy and delicious!

The following are some additional cool facts about The Edison’s Impossible Burger:

  • The Edison’s regular Impossible Burger is topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion, on a Kaiser roll. It is always on the menu while other burgers in the monthly series are exclusively offered during that particular month.
  • The patty sizzles like real beef in the pan.
  • The Impossible Burger matches the levels of protein and iron found in beef. It has about the same calories, less total fat (with slightly higher saturated fat from coconut oil) and is completely cholesterol-free.
  • It’s primarily made from wheat protein, potato protein, coconut oil, and heme (the molecule that gives meat its color and flavor).
  • The Impossible Burger is remarkably more efficient when compared to beef and uses 95% less land, 74% less water and creates 87% less greenhouse gas emissions. To put it into perspective that’s equal to one 10-minute shower, 14 driving miles, and 75 square feet of land.

As we previously reported, Animal Kingdom added additional Extra Magic Hours for Walt Disney World Resort Guests and participating Walt Disney World Area Resorts beginning in April and lasting through June 30. Basically, the park has been opening at either 7 am or 8 am for Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort or one of the select Walt Disney World Area Resorts. Guests taking advantage of these bonus Extra Magic Hours were allowed access to such attractions as Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest, and several others prior to the park opening to Guests who were not staying at a Walt Disney World Resort.

Fox Sets Vote on Disney Merger for July 10, 2018

Fox sets vote on Disney merger

Fox sets vote on Disney merger! Back in December a merger between The Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox was announced.  This $54 billion dollar deal was big news – especially since it came after Comcast announced they were backing out of the running.  In July Fox will vote on this merger.

With a record date of May 29, 2018 and a meeting date of July 10, 2018, a special meeting of Fox’s stockholders has been set to, among other things, consider and vote on a proposal to adopt the previously announced merger agreement (the “Disney Merger Agreement”) with The Walt Disney Company (“Disney”) and certain of its subsidiaries.  21CF’s board of directors recommends that stockholders vote in favor of the proposal to adopt the Disney Merger Agreement and the other proposals to be voted on at the special meeting.

21st Century Fox has stated that they are aware of the press release of Comcast Corporation (“Comcast”) of May 23, 2018, in which Comcast states that “it is considering, and is in advanced stages of preparing, an offer for the businesses of Fox that Fox has agreed to sell to Disney.”  Under the Disney Merger Agreement, if any event occurs that Fox determines, after consultation with outside legal counsel, is reasonably likely to require under applicable law the filing or mailing of any supplemental or amended disclosure, Fox may postpone or adjourn the special meeting of its stockholders to allow reasonable additional time for the filing, mailing, dissemination and review by its stockholders of any such disclosure prior to the special meeting.

We are waiting to see what happens at this July meeting and will make sure to share any news with our readers when it becomes available.

Is Brunch Coming to Homecomin’ at Disney Springs?

Homecomin'

Homecomin'

We’ve been seeing speculation online for some time now about a new brunch option coming to one of our favorite places at Disney Springs, Homecomin’. Today, National Donut Day, we think that Chef Art Smith might have confirmed this possibility to us with the following tweet:

As you can see, he states these delicious donuts featured in the tweet might be a preview of something new coming June 24! In addition, online sources have reported that they may have seen photos of brunch items being taken when they were making a visit to Homecomin’.

I surely hope this is true! Keep following along with us here at Chip & Co for official confirmation of brunch at Homecomin’ in Walt Disney World and for the first look at the menu!

Is Tambu Lounge Closing for the Summer for Refurbishments?

Is Tambu Lounge Closing for the Summer for Refurbishments?

Is Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian Resort going to be closed for the summer?  We have heard from a few sources that it is possible Tambu Lounge will be closing up just after the 4th of July for refurbishment that could possibly take up to 2 months.   We still do not have official details about the closure or any information about what the plans are for Tambu, but as soon as we get the information we will be sure to update you!

Tambu is a Hawaiian-inspired Tiki bar with where you’ll find tropical drinks and appetizers—from exotic chicken wings and fresh sushi rolls, to island-themed specialty cocktails and a full bar menu.   The lounge is located inside the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort on the 2nd floor near O’hana.   It is a favorite spot for guests to wait and have a cocktail while waiting for their dinner reservations.

Some of my favorite drinks are: Backscratcher– Bacardi Superior Rum, Myers’s Original Dark Rum, and Passion Fruit Juice topped with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and a Bamboo Backscratcher – $10.00.  Island Sunset – Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, Coruba Coconut Rum, and Peach combined with our Guava-Passion Fruit Juice – $9.75.  Lapu Lapu – Myers’s Original Dark Rum and Tropical Fruit Juices served in a fresh Pineapple topped with Goslings 151 Rum – $14.00.  Tropical Macaw – Coruba Coconut Rum, Melon Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, and Cranberry Juice – $9.75

Dazzling New Disney FanDaze Merchandise From Disneyland Paris

Dazzling New Disney FanDaze Merchandise From Disneyland Paris

The first inaugural Disney FanDaze event is this weekend, and we’re already being dazzled! The beautiful and exclusive new Disney FanDaze Merchandise is simply incredible. The collection has a teal and gold color theme, and stars Oswald and Ortensia.

These limited edition items will only be offered at the whimsical Disney FanDaze event this weekend at Disneyland Paris. These items are as dazzling as they are rare too.

The main attraction of this new collection are the specialty Mouse Ear headbands! An adorable plush Oswald headband, features his classic ears, along with a 3D plush of him on one ear. The real show stopper is the astonishing teal and gold sequin Minnie Mouse Ears! The color combo for them is simply stunning!

Of course we have to have Oswald and Ortensia plush toys! I am really loving them as the mascots for this event! There are mugs, lanyards, pins, mugs and more all featuring this classic duo.

These items are exclusive to the Disney FanDaze event in Disneyland Paris, so if you’ll be attending this amazing event, you’re very lucky! This is truly a magical assortment of souvenirs!

Which item from the New Disney FanDaze Merchandise at Disneyland Paris? I know I am loving those teal Minnie ears, but the Oswald ears are also quite cute!
