Have you caught “Fancy Nancy” on Disney Jr. yet? If you have a little girl between the ages of 2 and 5, I bet you have! “Fancy Nancy” opened as Disney Junior’s #1 debut in two years among girls ages 2 to 5 – since “Elena of Avalor” premiered on 7/22/16.

“Fancy Nancy” ranked #1 in its 11:00 a.m. time period among girls ages 2 to 5 and also won its slot for kids 2-ages 2 to 5, beating “Paw Patrol” on Nickelodeon by 11% and “Wonder Pets”/”Tickety Toc” on Nick Jr. by 410%.

Through premiere weekend, “Fancy Nancy” on Disney Jr. generated 1.1 million total views on YouTube.

Did you know that all Children’s Activity Centers but one will be closing at Walt Disney World at the end of this month? However, the one Activity Center that will remain open – Pixar Play Zone at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – is a dream come true for kids!

The Pixar Play Zone offers kids a cool place to hang out while their parents explore Walt Disney World on their own. It is open nightly from 5 to 10:30 pm with activities held from 6 to 10:15 pm. Activites include toys galore, tasty treats, themed crafts, games, and even visits from your favorite Pixar characters!

A sampling of the highlights of the Pixar Play Zone include:

An “Incredible” Dance Party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. This gives guests the opportunity to rock out with their favorite characters in a cozy environment.
Sing along with Woody and Jessie during Woody’s Roundup and earn a sheriff’s badge too!
Race over to the Radiator Springs Racetrack where guests can build their own race car and compete in a mini Piston Cup Derby race.

New Menu Items At Magic Kingdom's Golden Oak Outpost

The Golden Oak Outpost at Magic Kingdom recently added some new items to their menu. There is no better place to visit after taking the plunge on Splash Mountain or winding through gold-mining country on Big Thunder Mountain. We stopped by a few days ago to check out the new eats.

First up was the Cauliflower. It comes fried with a spicy batter and served with a creamy garlic ranch sauce. The perfect blend if you are looking for a little spice!

You could also go for the new Jalapeno Poppers, (my personal favorite of any fried snack). These breaded jalapeno peppers are stuffed with nacho cheese and served with the Golden Oak Outpost’s G.O.O. sauce.

What is really great is that both of these new items are snack credits on any Disney dining plan! After those spicy bites, you could try one of their incredible milkshakes. They come in two flavors, Rocky Road and Dulce de Leche.

Last month, Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaiʻi sent out a tweet about Duffy getting a new friend! Well, he’s here! ‘Olu the turtle is making his global debut at Aulani. Isn’t he the cutest! On July 27th, ‘Olu the turtle is being released with an exclusive line of merchandise. Keep reading to see how Duffy and ‘Olu the turtle became friends!

Mickey and Duffy were sailing the high seas around the islands of Hawaii to find the perfect birthday gift for ShellieMay. They began hearing the sounds of a ‘ukelele that lead them over to a cozy cove to find ‘Olu playing wonderful music.

‘Olu the turtle smiled shyly as he greeted Duffy. “I play my ‘ukulele to make songs of love. Want to sing with me?” ‘Olu began to play a beautiful song for Duffy and Mickey. “That will be the perfect present for ShellieMay!” said Duffy excitedly. Off to the party they went, singing the special song together for their birthday friend.

Duffy also get a new friend at Hong Kong Disneyland, Cookie, the fun loving chef puppy! According to the Hong Kong Main Street Gazette, she will make her debut on July 3rd. With her bright green eyes and long fluffy ears, who wouldn’t fall in love with Cookie?

Duffy the Disney Bear made his meet and greet debut in Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort in 2010. Since then, Duffy has made tons of new friends including Gelatoni and StellaLou.

Last week, we announced that the Rendez-Vous Gourmand would be returning to Disneyland Paris for its second year. Today we are happy to pass along some additional details for this year’s festival which will be held from July 27 to September 30, 2018.

New for 2018, Disneyland Paris will celebrate French and European gastronomy by adding Italy, Spain, and Belgium (along with French regions and vegan culture) to the 2nd edition of Rendez-Vous Gourmand in the Walt Disney Studios Park.

What better place to discover the gastronomic wonders of the French and European regions than Disneyland Paris, Europe’s number one tourist destination? With the Rendez-Vous Gourmand of Disneyland Paris, guests of the Walt Disney Studios Park will have the chance to dive in the heart of the most beautiful French regions and enjoy their best specialties.

Regions including Alsace, Savoy, Brittany, South West, Provence and even the West Indies (new in 2018!) will showcase a selection of “must-taste” dishes and regional products such as sauerkraut, galettes, cassoulet, tartiflette, or accras. Dishes will be served in 6 chalets decorated in the theme of each region and legitimately installed on Rue de Paris, near Place de Rémy, the Ratatouille attraction and Bistrot Chez Rémy, the Park’s place dedicated to the French gastronomy.

Sweets dishes including unmissable desserts such as kouglof, kouign-amann, tropézienne cakes or pineapple cake, washed down with the best wines and regional ciders, will delight guests as they taste these wonders served in takeaway sized portions. Guests can also choose to extend the experience by bringing back home some of these regional products sold in the chalets of the Park.

This year’s second edition of Rendez-Vous Gourmand includes European specialties for the first time, along Walt Disney Studio Park’s Hollywood Boulevard. Spain, Italy, Belgium and a selection of vegan recipes will be available.

With paella, fricadelle, lasagna or falafel, churros, tiramisu., and even the famous Belgian waffle from Liège, Disneyland Paris has decided to take guests’ taste buds on a journey around beautiful Europe. To accompany these dishes and desserts, one chalet will be entirely dedicated to French and European spirits: wines from all regions, champagne or beers.

With the second edition the Rendez-Vous Gourmand, Disneyland Paris wants to encourage guests to discover new flavors and live a unique experience in its Parks!

Guests will also be able to enjoy this year’s “La Petite Boutique” chalet which will offer a range of exclusive souvenir products in link with the Rendez-Vous Gourmand. Mugs, bowls, aprons, glasses, butter dishes, and more… There will be something for everyone!

Next summer, the Disney Magic will be adding a new port-of-call to select European sailings – Fredericia, Denmark. Fredericia features charming streets, beautiful churches, and old houses within the town’s 17th-century walls.

Fredericia is located in the center of the country and serves as a gateway to other locations in Denmark – may with a strong Viking history. Guests might even catch the Disney connection to a nearby home of a popular fairy tale author who inspired many of you favorite Disney classics.

Here is just a sampling of what you can enjoy at this enchanting port-of-call:

Explore Storybook Locales on a Disney Cruise Line Sailing to Denmark — A wild flower garden/field, a small hedge and a bicycle in summer

Picturesque Views: Go for a stroll along Fredericia’s mighty city walls, the best-preserved ramparts in Northern Europe, where you can experience all of its charm up close. Soak Up the Sun: Swim, sunbathe, dine or enjoy a game of volleyball at Østerstrand, a pristine beach near the city center. Stop for a Delicious Quick Bite to Eat: Head to a café to sample local delicacies. Venture Past the Port: Take advantage of the easy access to some of Denmark’s most famous historical sites such as the Jelling monuments. The monuments are a collection of standing stones and burial mounds which mark the site of of where Viking King Harald Bluetooth erected a run stone to announce his achivements and christen Denmark over 1,000 years ago.

You can also take a quick trip to Odense, the main city on the beautiful island of Funern. This is where you can visit the home of Hans Christian Andersen who inspired Disney movies such as “Frozen” and “The Little Mermaid.” There are also numerous museums and activity centers nearby that bring added meaning to his popular fairy tales.

New Photos Released Of “Kim Possible” Brought To Life With Actress Sadie Stanley

More exciting details have come out of San Diego Comic-Con 2018! Emmy® Award-winning executive producers Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley revealed the first photo of the iconic character Kim Possible, brought to life by actress Sadie Stanley in the upcoming live-action Disney Chanel Original Movie “Kim Possible.”

Set to debut in 2019, the movie is based on the global-hit animated series about an everyday high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from villains. Sean Giambrone (ABC’s “The Goldbergs”) stars as Kim Possible’s loyal best friend, Ron Stoppable.

The live-action movie was written by McCorkle, Schooley and Josh Cagan (“The DUFF,” “Bandslam”). The executive producers are McCorkle, Schooley and Zanne Devine (“I, Tonya” and “Easy A”). The movie will be co-directed and co-produced by Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky (both of Disney XD’s “MECH-X4”). Blyth Nailling (ABC’s “Last Man Standing” and “Scrubs”) is the casting director.

Also starring are Alyson Hannigan (“How I Met Your Mother,” Disney Junior’s animated series “Fancy Nancy”) as brain surgeon Dr. Ann Possible (AKA Mom Possible); Todd Stashwick (“12 Monkeys”) and Taylor Ortega will play fan-favorite villains Drakken and Shego, respectively; Connie Ray (“The Big C”) as grandmother Nana Possible; Ciara Wilson (“OMG!”) as new high school student Athena; Erika Tham (“Make It Pop”) who will play Kim’s childhood frenemy, Bonnie; and Issac Ryan Brown (“Raven’s Home”) as teen computer genius Wade. The comedy-adventure is set to debut in 2019.

The live-action “Kim Possible” Disney Channel Original Movie is a production of Middleton Productions, a subsidiary of Omnifilm Entertainment.

In what way could a wedding be more magical than with a surprise Disney dance?

Disney fans know that the magic doesn’t have to end at the park. We strive to bring as much Disney to our lives as possible whether it be plastered across our coffee mugs, weekly movie nights, a collection of “Ears”, or adding a sprinkling of pixie dust to our special occasions. And that is just what Tomas did for his bride, Brittany, on their wedding day!

This couple is a pair Disney loving fanatics (like the rest of us) and the proof is in the pudding (‘Ohana’s bread pudding of course). Disney has been a part of their special occasions including their proposal, which Tomas had arranged on the beach of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

And it doesn’t stop there! This groom wanted to surprise his bride and certainly took things to the next level! After three months of mixing music, constructing mic stands and trays of plastic food, recording choreography to send out and rehearse with the wedding party who resides all over the United States and Canada, Tomas was able to surprise his bride yet again. Take a look at this memorable Disney Dance performed by Tomas and Brittany’s wedding party!

Brittany was surprised to say the least! Her favorite parts of this surprise Disney Dance? Between her groom flying through the air, their friend who is a Maui look-a-like, and “The Perfect Cast” dance, it’s hard to decide. Tomas’ favorite part? Seeing the look of pure shock and excitement on his beautiful wife’s face!

After much anticipation, Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff inside Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park is now open! The beefed-up candy store is inspired by Riley’s imaginary friend in the movie “Inside Out” and features various varieties of colorful candy, Disney-themed treats, frozen drinks, and slushies.

It is time for a Guardians of the Galaxy coaster construction photo update! Aside from Galaxy’s Edge opening next year, there is nothing I am anticipating more than the opening of the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster at Epcot. If you have not yet seen the movies (which I’m hoping all of you have) you need to watch them now! I cannot wait to see how Disney will bring some of my favorite Marvel characters (and their story) to the new Guardians of the Galaxy coaster, which they have promised to have up and running in time for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

So what do we know?

This Guardians of the Galaxy coaster will be one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world!
Disney will be using a new, innovative ride system to amaze guests
The coaster will be family friendly (we are unsure of any height restrictions at this time)

All of these statements coupled with some of the funniest superheroes in the Marvel Universe… I’m sold! Now, let’s check on the progress…

Disneyland Resort Celebrates 63rd Anniversary

Disneyland Park has seen many changes since Walt Disney opened it on July 17, 1955. Guests could enjoy 18 attractions but no Disney hotels and little but orange groves surrounding it. This week the Disneyland Resort marks its 63rd anniversary – during the first-ever Pixar Fest – the original theme park has expanded to become a world-class family resort destination. With more than six decades of inspiration and innovation, the resort now includes two renowned Disney theme parks, nearly 100 exciting attractions, three hotels and the shopping, dining and entertainment district known as Downtown Disney.

Disneyland commemorated its role as the original Disney theme park Tuesday with festivities that included the “Happiest March on Earth” down Main Street, U.S.A. The cavalcade included 63 Disney characters, parade performers, the Dapper Dans barbershop quartet and the Disneyland Resort Ambassadors stopping at several points along the route to celebrate the historic occasion.

Final Weeks of Pixar Fest: Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort today and through Sept. 3 will enjoy the final weeks of Pixar Fest, a celebration of friendship and beyond. Pixar Fest features “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” fireworks show, along with Pixar Pals Dance Party and the Pixar Shorts Film Festival (resuming July 20). Debut of Pixar Pier: This summer, the newly reimagined Pixar Pier opened at Disney California Adventure Park with the debut of Lamplight Lounge and the Incredicoaster – themed to Disney•Pixar’s blockbuster film “Incredibles 2.” As guests stroll through Pixar Pier, they explore whimsical neighborhoods: Incredibles Park, Toy Story Boardwalk, Pixar Promenade and, coming in 2019, Inside Out Headquarters.

The Matterhorn Bobsleds was the first tubular steel roller coaster in the world when it opened in 1959. It set the standard for modern-day roller-coaster design.
Disneyland Park created the first daily operating monorail in the Western Hemisphere. It opened June 14, 1959.
Cast members are hired for lots of cool jobs at the Disneyland Resort, including candy makers, scuba divers who maintain the water-related attractions, and resort enhancement teams that work year-round to prepare for the seasonal transformations for Halloween and Holidays.
More than 40 different languages are spoken among Disneyland Resort cast members.
More than 400 Disneyland Resort cast members have achieved beverage accreditations. Four have received Advanced Sommelier Diplomas (level three) from the Court of Master Sommeliers of the Americas, and one has received a Master Sommelier Diploma (level four).
