Shanghai Disney Resort celebrated it’s third Chinese New Year with a special ceremony. The Chinese eye-dotting ceremony took place in front of Enchanted Storybook Castle to spread good-luck for guests and cast members in the coming year.
Philippe Gas, Shanghai Disney Resorts general manager, dotted the eyes of two traditional Chinese lions. This ceremony “awakens” the lions for the New Year.
Chinese New Year marks an important time of you where friends and families come together. Shanghai Disney has given guests the opportunity to celebrate the special traditions that are unique to the Chinese people over the years. This year, they celebrate the Year of the Pig with themed dining, shipping, decorations, and entertainment. Guests are invited to join in the fun, from now until February 19th.
Celebrations Around the World
Hong Kong Disneyland celebrates the New Year with new outfits for Mickey and his friends. Guests are welcome to participate in Gog of Fortune Goofy Celebration Moment, a stage show in front of the castle. The Three Little Pigs will also be on had to celebrate in Fantasyland.
Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession will happen daily through February 17th at Disneyland Resort. Asian marketplaces will highlight Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cuisine in Disney California Adventure Park. Guests can even visit the Lucky Wishing Wall to add their own wishes for good luck!
