New Date-Based Ticket Pricing and Online Planning for Walt Disney World Resort Guests

In Disney’s continued effort to make each guest’s visit more magical than the last, they will soon release date-based ticket pricing as well as a new online planning experience for Walt Disney World Resort guests. Beginning October 16th, this new ticket pricing and planning experience will be available to guests.

It appears that in order to price and purchase your tickets, you must select the exact date which you will first be visiting the parks. There is a calendar which will show you per-day pricing allowing you to select the most affordable day to begin your visit. For those who are not planning on selecting their park days, for an additional fee, you can select a “flexible” park ticket which allows you to visit on any day. At this time the flexible park ticket option appears to be $50 per person.

In addition, the new features on DisneyWorld.com will assist guests in planning the details of their trip by offering travel tips and customized suggestions. Plans can also be managed through the My Disney Experience App as well.

What does this mean for you? Disney’s overall goal is to improve the guest experience and this effort is being made in hopes of spreading out crowds. As the parks grow and the popularity of certain attractions draws more crowds, Disney is making a conscious effort to keep everyone smiling while visiting the most magical place on Earth. By offering date-based ticket pricing, some guests may be encouraged to visit the parks on less busy days, therefore dispersing the crowds.

Celebrities Join Over 25,000 Runners For Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend

World Record holder Paula Radcliffe and TV personalities Michelle Heaton and Ryan Libbey were amongst thousands of runners who took part in the third annual Magic Run Weekend at Disneyland Paris this weekend.

From the 100m kid’s race to the half marathon, there was something for all types of runner at the Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend, the European event on the runDisney programme.

The stars joined Mickey Mouse and almost 26,000 fitness fanatics to compete in races through both Disney Parks. Taking in the sights along the way including Sleeping Beauty Castle and the world famous Main Street U.S.A., whilst being cheered on by their families. Ahead of the event, Mickey Mouse and Goofy posed for pictures with the group in his very own special running attire to give them some extra motivation.

Proving she’s as fit as ever, Magic Run Weekend Ambassador Paula Radcliffe took on the 36K challenge, with her family joining her for the 5K race. Speaking of her weekend, Paula said:

“For me, it’s always a pleasure to come to the Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend. It’s a magical event. This year, my son came with me so that together we could enjoy the Disney atmosphere and characters, as well as behind the scenes at the theme parks. This is what makes the event, which manages to bring together fans of Disney, newcomers to sport, regular sportspeople and experienced runners, so great.” – Paula Radcliffe

Michelle Heaton completed her hattrick of Magic Runs through Disneyland Paris in just 2 hours 25 minutes dressed as the Evil Queen from Snow White, as her children who had competed in Kids Races earlier in the day were by her side to cheer her on. Speaking of the experience, Michelle said “this was my favourite year competing in the Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend so. It meant so much this year. I think it’s because Faith and AJ are of that perfect age where they really understand the magic of Disney and how hard it is to commit to something like this. It gives them something to aspire to, especially when they did their own mini race yesterday. I cried as soon as I got over the line. To have both the kids run up and truly be proud of me means so much.”

Made in Chelsea star Ryan Libbey conquered 10K in an impressive 55 minutes. Speaking of his experience, Ryan said “It was such a privilege to be able to take part in the Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend. It’s super special to see the park before it opens to the public and you also get to meet some characters along the way, which is a bonus, as is the added atmosphere and support from all of the Disneyland Paris staff on the sidelines cheering you on all of the way around. It’s truly a magical experience and I enjoyed it so much!”

When they weren’t participating in the weekend’s magical runs, the celebrities took time to soak up the magic of Disneyland Paris by enjoying viewings of Disney Stars on Parade! and the night-time spectacular, Disney Illuminations. The thrill-seekers also made time for the attractions such as Big Thunder Mountain, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.

The Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend 2018 saw a 25% increase in the number of participants compared to last year with 26,000 runners including 3,500 children, from 70 different nationalities, with some of the biggest characters from the Disney, Star Wars and Marvel universes on hand throughout to get competitors into the Disney spirit.

The Disneyland Paris Magic Run Weekend includes:

The runDisney Kids Races – magical races for apprentice runners
Disneyland Paris 5K – takes place at night with stars in the skies
Disneyland Paris 10K – allows participants to run with friends or family throughout the Disney Parks
Disneyland Paris – Val d’Europe Half Marathon – the most enchanting of the half-marathons

Challenges:

31K Challenge – 10K on Saturday 22 September followed by 21K on Sunday 23 September
36K Challenge – 5K on Friday 21 September, 10K on Saturday 22 September followed by 21K on Sunday 23 September

Movie Review – “SOLO: A Star Wars Story”

SOLO: A Star Wars Story is now available on Digital HD and arrives on Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™, DVD and On-Demand starting tomorrow, September 25th. I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of the Blu-ray and really enjoyed all of the deleted scenes and bonus material included in a separate second disc with the movie. I’ve even included links to some of those scenes later on in the article!

I really enjoyed SOLO: A Star Wars Story when it came out in theaters and I was excited to relive all of the action again at home. As a Star Wars fan (and also married to a Star Wars nerd) I was excited to see the untold back story of Han Solo, one of my favorite characters. The movie in my opinion does not disappoint in delivering strong character backgrounds and exciting plot twists. But being able to see how those characters are brought to life might be even more enjoyable.

Did you know that Wilderness Lodge offers two different Hidden Mickey Scavenger Hunts? I love exploring Disney’s beautiful resorts and these games kick that love up a notch. Disney Imagineers incorporated Hidden Mickeys icons into just about every Disney Park and Resort ever created around the world and it has become a favorite past time for many Disney fans to find as many as possible.

Don’t know what a Hidden Mickey is? It is defined as the front or side profile of Mickey Mouse (sometimes just his head; sometimes all of him) that has been camouflaged into something.

There are two different hunts available to pick up at the front desk. One is for the main building Wilderness Lodge and then one is for the Boulder Ridge Villas also located on the Wilderness Lodge Resort grounds.

New eats available at Disney’s BoardWalk! Disney’s BoardWalk at the Walt Disney World Resort is great place to visit and now they’ve got some new menu items for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

First up, you’ll find new breakfast options at BoardWalk Bakery! These new breakfast sandwiches are perfect to grab and go on your way to the parks. New breakfast sandwiches include the Butter Butter Sandwich, the Everything Everything Sandwich, and the Ooey Gooey Sandwich.

The Butter Butter Sandwich comes with shaved ham, scrambled eggs, and buttery fontina cheese spread on brioche, and the Everything Everything Sandwich comes with a cage-free fried eggs and Tillamook cheddar on an everything bagel. Served with a cage-free poached egg, cheddar, mozzarella, capicola, and an oven-dried tomato on an artisan roll the Ooey Gooey Sandwich is a winner as well!

And right next door to BoardWalk Bakery is the newly reopened Pizza Window with a brand new lunch and dinner menu! Grab a personal pizza or one for the whole family to share! You’ll also find a Meatball Sub and an Italian Hoagie Sandwich on the menu. Both come with chips.

Día de los Muertos returns to Disneyland. Día de los Muertos has returned to the Zócalo Park area at Disneyland park! You can find it between Rancho del Zócalo Restaurante and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Now let’s see what it looks like after dark!

There is no shortage of colorful flower arrangements – anchored by marigolds – in this area. And lights of many colors and papel picado hang from above.

Día de los Muertos Returns to Disneyland Park This Year

Don’t miss the trio of skeleton musicians, inspired by works of traditional Mexican folk art, in their sombreros. Sugar skulls, or calaveras, adorn an ofrendaat the heart of Zócalo Park.

And you won’t want to miss Rancho del Zócalo Restaurante cooking up delicious Mexican cuisine available for lunch or dinner!
