New Menu Coming To Sunshine Seasons In Epcot

Attractions are not the only thing being updated at Epcot right now. Sunshine Seasons, the popular quick service restaurant in The Land Pavilion, is getting a menu makeover later this month.

Sunshine Seasons is known for offering an extensive variety of hot and cold menu items. Featuring both made to order and grab ‘n’ go selections, it looks like the updated menu will include fewer items overall.

New menu items being offered include:

-Tuna Poke- $11.99

-Stir Fried Shrimp with Celery, Peppers, Water Chestnuts, and Cashews- $11.79

-Sweet and Sour Chicken with Jasmine Rice- $11.59

-Chicken Pot Pie and Lentil Soup- $4.69

Updated menu items:

-Cheese Pizza will now be served with Potato Salad instead of Caesar Salad- $10.49

New beverage offerings:

-Blueberry Pineapple Smoothie- $5.49

-Dasani Sparkling Water- $3.50

Many current menu offerings are being removed completely, primarily the grab ‘n’ go selections.

-Cuban Sandwich

-Cuban Sandwich with Plantain Chips

-Spicy Fish Taco

-Tamarind Vegan Stir Fry

-Vegan Korma

-Turkey and Monterey Jack Sandwich

Aunt Polly’s Remaining Open through April 28th!

It must be a hit! Aunt Polly’s was only scheduled to be open for a week in March, but Disney has just announced Aunt Polly’s will remain open until April 28^th!

Guests visiting the Magic Kingdom can raft across the Rivers of American to Tom Sawyer Island. While the kids are exploring the caves and balancing on the suspension bridges, you can enjoy an afternoon snack at the restaurant, open daily from 11 AM – 3 PM.

Interior Views and Concept Art for Disney’s Riviera Resort

Disney’s Riviera Resort is coming this fall and we have another look at the unique and beautiful new rooms inside the resort. Design elements are taken from European art and architecture, the style inside the resort is themed with styler and flair you would find if you had taken a trip to shores of the European Riviera.

There will be more than 40 signature art pieces created just for Disney’s Riviera Resort featuring unique Disney character art inspired by the renowned artistic heritage found along the shores of the European Riviera. You’ll get to see so many of your favorite Disney characters reflected in the newly created master artistry, including Mickey and Minnie, and characters from “Beauty and the Beast,” Disney’s “Peter Pan,” “The Aristocats,” Disney●Pixar film “Ratatouille,” “The Princess and the Frog,” “Moana,” “Tangled,” “101 Dalmatians” and more.

Navi River and Flights of Passage Evacuated at Animal Kingdom

**Update: Disney has given us an update. It appears it was just a tripped fire alarm. The ride will be up and running soon!

Just in! Both Flights of Passage and Navi River inside Pandora at Disney’s Animal Kingdom have been evacuated this morning. We have very few details at this time but guests are reporting a burning smell near the attractions. Another guest reported fire alarms going off inside the ride as they were being ushered out of the buildings.

We will continue to update you as we get more information!

DINOSAUR In Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park Will Close 1 Hour Prior To Park Closing Starting March 31

Fans of the ride that brings you back in time to the age of the dinosaurs will want to make note that the operating times for DINOSAUR will be changing soon. With a few exceptions, DINOSAUR normally opens 30 minutes after park opening and closes 30 minutes prior to park closing.

Starting on March 31, DINOSAUR is scheduled to open the same time Animal Kingdom Theme Park opens and close 1 hour prior to park closing. There are exceptions to this, however. Those exceptions include Extra Magic Hours and Disney After Hours events. The ride will be open for the duration of these special times. In the case of Disney After Hours, the ride will close 1 hour prior to the park closing time but will reopen for the duration of the special ticketed event.

Those fearing that the ride will not be open for the same number of hours should fear not! Originally DINOSAUR would open 30 minutes after park open and close 30 minutes prior to park close. This equates to 1 hour each day that the ride was unavailable. The new schedule starting on March 31 still renders the ride unavailable for 1 hour.

We checked the operating schedule of the ride and compared it to the current park schedule. This new operating schedule appears to be in effect through July 31 which is the latest date that the DINOSAUR operating schedule is available. Fans will still have plenty of time to race back in time and rescue the Iguanadon!

Disney Makes an Official Statement about 21st Century Fox Purchase

Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox was finalized early this morning. Bob Iger, Chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, has released an official statement.

Here’s what he has to say about the merger:

“This is an extraordinary and historic moment for us—one that will create significant long-term value for our company and our shareholders. Combining Disney’s and 21st Century Fox’s wealth of creative content and proven talent creates the preeminent global entertainment company, well positioned to lead in an incredibly dynamic and transformative era.”

The combination of Disney and 21st Century Fox will form a collection of franchises that allow viewers to enjoy more entertainment options. Disney’s content will be able to reach father internationally and directly to consumers with the new services like ESPN+, Disney+, and Disney and 21st Century Fox’s combined ownership in Hulu.

Disney has acquired Twentieth Century Fox, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Fox 2000 Pictures, Fox Family, Fox Animation, Twentieth Century Fox Television, FX Productions, Fox 21, FX Networks, National Geographic Partners, Fox Networks Group International, Star India, Fox’s interests in Hulu, Tata Sky, and Endemol Shine Group in the multi-billion dollar deal.

21st Century Fox’s broadcast, news, and sports businesses will become part of the Fox Corporation. These include the FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, FOX Broadcasting Company, FOX Sports, FOX Television Stations Group,sports cable networks FS1, FS2, Fox Deportes and Big Ten Network.

Updated Menu Debuts at Chefs de France in Epcot

Chefs de France recently updated its menu a couple of weeks ago. Located in France, at Disney’s Epcot, Chefs de France is a cute café transporting you to the heart of Paris. The high ceilings, mosaic flooring, and the spacious windows make for a great atmosphere overlooking the promenade. Enjoy people watching while enjoying a delicious meal.

The updated menu at Chefs de France includes fresh and simple items, but when combined, are tasty and impressive. I highly recommend the 3-course prix fixe menu, which is available on both the lunch and dinner menu.

If you’re not looking for a prix fixe style dinner, there are still plenty of delicious entrees. Some highlights include duck, chicken, beef, and salmon. Don’t miss out on the dessert menu. I don’t even know which one I would pick.

A children’s menu (ages 9 and younger) is available at both lunch and dinner. Included is their choice of an appetizer, and either a salad or a cheese puff pastry. The kid’s entrée choices are steak, pasta, salmon, or chicken. For dessert, either ice cream, low-fat yogurt, or a chocolate chip cookie. Yum!!

Chefs de France does participate in the dining plans. Either lunch or dinner are one table service credit. Reservations are strongly recommended. Always check the menu prior to making your dining reservations and again a couple weeks before you leave while you’re finalizing your plans. The menu at Chefs de France does change seasonally. Lastly, the lunch and dinner menus slightly vary, so make sure to look over both before you make your reservation. The updated menu at Chefs de France in Epcot is now on my list of places to try. Walk Around The World Bricks For Sale at Walt Disney World

Yesterday we broke news about the “Walk Around the World” bricks. These hexagonal bricks near the Magic Kingdom Park and the Transportation and Ticket Center will be retired soon. The bricks which were part of “Disney’s Walk Around the World” were committed to be on display until 2011. The arrival experience near these areas will begin to be transformed in the coming months. This will require the bricks to be removed.

Since the hexagonal bricks were not designed to be individually removed, they will not be available to take home. Guests who sponsored a brick may purchase a commemorative version between now and August 31, 2019, while supplies last.

Those that wish to purchase a souvenir version have two options:

If visiting in person:

Stop by City Hall at Magic Kingdom Park or Guest Relations at Disney Springs to verify your previous brick by sharing the name and hometown of the Guest who sponsored it.
After verification, you will be given a one-time use voucher to present by, or before Aug. 31, 2019, at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. (at Magic Kingdom Park – separate theme park admission required) or the Marketplace Co-Op (at Disney Springs), enabling you to purchase one commemorative 6” brick at a special price of $10 (plus tax).

If Guests cannot visit in person, they should:

After verification, you will be provided a code to use by, or before Aug. 31, 2019, on shopDisney.com to purchase one commemorative 6” brick at a special price of $10 (plus tax and shipping) starting this spring. If a Guest had previously missed the opportunity to participate in the original “Disney’s Walk Around the World” program but would like to participate now, souvenir bricks are available to customize and purchase starting at $29.99 (plus tax and optional shipping). These are on sale now at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. at Magic Kingdom Park (separate theme park admission required to enter) or the Marketplace Co-Op (at Disney Springs), or later on shopDisney.com starting this spring.

There are only 3 steps required to design the commemorative brick.

First, guests must choose 1 of 6 different art styles for the top of the brick. Choices are shown below and include Mickey Mouse and 2019 among others. The bottom 3 designs are exclusive for Walk Around the World participants, Annual Passholder, and DVC members, respectively.

Next, guests can personalize their commemorative brick with names or an occasion. Finally, a date is added at the bottom of the brick.

Take A Fresh Look At Marvel Superhero Island

Trying to figure out what to do as the days slowly tick by to the release of Avengers: Endgame on April 26? While we wait, let’s take a fresh look at Marvel Superhero Island at Islands of Adventure.

Upon first glance, you may think that this Island is full of adrenaline packed thrill rides and you are not wrong, but this island has so much more to offer than the headlining rollercoaster. If you haven’t visited, always passed through, or just want a walk down memory lane here are some great reasons to spend some time in Marvel Superhero Island.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster: This green machine cannot be missed as you walk under the track to enter Superhero Island. If you walk in as the coaster is launching you will hear the “woosh” as this attraction rockets out of the gate and hits speeds of 67 miles per hour. With 7 inversions you will want to hold on tight.

Watch out for the four-wheelers!: Clear the road as your favorite comic book characters pull in on four-wheelers. Heroes and villains such as Dr. Doom, Spiderman, Captian America, Storm, Rogue, the Green Goblin, and others have been known to appear. They’ll all head to different spots for photos and a meet and greet.

Dr. Doom’s Fearfall: Wondering what it is like to have your stomach in your toes? Don’t let the word fall mislead you on this attraction as you rocket toward the sky.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: Just out looking for news for the Daily Bugle? Think again! The daily headlines fly out the window as the Sinister Six take you on a wild ride. Thank goodness everyone’s favorite web-slinger is there to save the day.

Spin me around, and around, and around: Often overlooked, this one is tucked behind the Hulk. Storm Force Accelatron will have your body and brain spinning.

Take it all in: Eye-catching bright colors are everywhere on Marvel Superhero Island, take a look around and take it all in. You’ll find Adam Kubert’s signature hidden in his artwork. Hear a phone ringing, not of the mobile variety? Answer it! You never know who will be on the other line. Finally, show your support for your favorite superhero with some choice shopping. You’ll find all types of wearables, toys, and collectibles in the shops that line both sides of the street.

If you are headed to Hogwarts the road may lead through Marvel Superhero Island, but this Island is a destination you don’t want to pass through.
