#ShareYourEars is back at Disneyland Paris! For the third year in a row, The Walt Disney Company is supporting Make-A-Wish by inviting guests to share their ears on social media to grant more wishes. From now until November the 17th, Disney will donate $5, up to $20 million to Make-A-Wish for any photo containing Mickey ears or creative ears, uploaded to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with #ShareYourEars.

Currently, Disney has helped grant more than 130,000 wishes during its 40- year partnership with Make-A-Wish. During this campaign, ABC, Disney Channel and Freeform will feature messages from famous actors in support of #ShareYourEars. Disney Theatre Productions on Broadway such as Aladdin, Frozen and the Lion King will also take part in #ShareYourEars by adding campaign information to the Playbills.

Disney granted the first official Make-A-Wish in 1980 and has helped Make-A-Wish fulfil experiences that have not only created exceptionally special memories but also help kids and their families by filling their lives with joy, hope and happiness. Disney currently grants 10,000 wishes every year and this number continues to increase!

Ho Ho Ho Merry Disney Christmas T-Shirt

Merry Disney Christmas T-Shirt

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas! I can’t wait to plan some fanciful Disney outfits for my Holiday trip to Walt Disney World. This Merry Disney Christmas T-Shirt is simple, yet perfect for mixing and matching with plenty of outfits for a Holiday ensemble.

This cheerful shirt has “Ho Ho Ho” written down the front, with the “o”s replaced with Mickeys! You can get it in a variety of colors, but I’m pretty partial to the red or green versions myself. I think it would look positively smashing with any of the new Holiday Minnie Ears now at the Disney Parks too!

Would you show off your holiday spirit with this fun Merry Disney Christmas T-Shirt?

Fort Wilderness Dessert Party

Fort Wilderness

Fort Wilderness Dessert Party

Get ready to ring in the New Year Disney-style at Fort Wilderness Resort.  There will be a private beach party at Clementine’s Beach complete with a viewing of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks and a champagne toast at midnight.  The Fort Wilderness New Year’s Eve Dessert Party will start at 10:00 p.m. on December 31st.  There will be desserts, seasonal fruits, cheeses, and refreshments.  Drinks include beer, wine, soda, and specialty drinks.  The party will end at 12:30 a.m. on January 1st.

This party will require reservations and, since we’re inside the 180-day reservation window, now is the time to get your space reserved.  The price is $99 per adult and $59 per child (3-9) plus tax.  Gratuity is not included or required.  As of this writing, there are still slots open.  Check-in will be at Clementine’s Beach behind the Settlement Trading Post.  Event identification will be issued at check-in and must be worn for the duration of the party.  If you cancel within 120 hours of the party start time, you will be charged for the full price of your ticket.  Planning to partake in adult beverages means you need to be sure to have your identification on you. In the case of inclement weather that night, there may be an alternate location, or the event can be cancelled.  They also recommend you wear appropriate footwear for the sand.

Getting to the party is going to be time consuming.  This is taking place during the holiday season, so expect a lot of people to be around.  They are recommending you allow about an hour and a half to travel there.  Heading over from the Magic Kingdom means taking the ferry, but they run on a schedule, so allow plenty of time.  Taking a bus from your resort means you will need to transfer, so plan accordingly.  If you are planning to drive over, the main parking lot tends to fill up during the holidays.  In that case, you will be directed to a satellite lot and a bus will be provided to get you to the resort.

This event sounds like a great opportunity, especially if you’re a fan of Fort Wilderness like I am.  It is also a great way to avoid that New Year’s crush of people inside the parks.  What do you think?  Let us know in the comments below!

cinderella castle

Disney World will officially begin the holiday season celebration with the lighting of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom during this year’s first “A Frozen Holiday Wish” show.

The event will take place this Thursday, November 8 at 6:10 p.m. EST at Magic Kingdom park. The Disney Parks Blog will live-stream the event which promises to be very exciting and heartwarming!

During the annual castle lighting show called “A Frozen Holiday Wish,” Guests can see Princess Anna, Queen Elsa, Olaf and Kristoff from Disney’s Frozen. The beloved Disney characters are out for some holiday fun. During their time together, Queen Elsa wants to share a gift with everyone at Magic Kingdom. She uses her icy powers to turn the iconic Cinderella Castle into a gorgeous shimmering ice palace.

“A Frozen Holiday Wish” is just one part of all the festive fun at Walt Disney World this holiday season! Don’t miss other magical holiday events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on select nights in November and December. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will host “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!,” “Sunset Season’s Greetings,” and the “Flurry of Fun.” EPCOT will once again host its annual International Festival of the Holidays, beginning Thanksgiving night and going through December 30. At Animal Kingdom, Guests can enjoy “UP! A Great Bird Adventure,” which is an exciting new exotic bird show. During the holiday season, the show gives Guests a look into India’s festival of lights called Diwali.

New Sweet Treats at Magic Kingdom

Christmas has arrived at the Magic Kingdom and that means new treats at the Main Street Confectionery.  We got some pictures, and we’re sharing them here with you!

New Sweet Treats at Magic Kingdom      New Sweet Treats at Magic Kingdom

First up is the new apples!  Of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse are ready for the holidays.  Mickey and Minnie are coated in chocolate, with their marshmallow ears of course, and dipped in sugar.  Mickey’s buttons and Minnie’s polka dots are candy coated chocolates.  We are also getting Jack Skellington wearing his Sandy Claws hat and a Mickey head shaped ornament decorated with a snowflake.  Jack is dipped in white chocolate with dark chocolate facial features.  The ornament is also dipped in white chocolate and coated in sugar.

Next are these adorable cookies.  I love the stocking and the tree.  I’m not sure if I would want to eat them!

Mickey needs to get in on the cookie fun, too!  These sugar cookies look delicious.  The one with the sprinkles is enormous!

There is also this adorable Santa Mickey crisped rice treat coated in sugar.

What would treats at Magic Kingdom be like without cupcakes!  One for Mickey and one for Minnie and they look amazing.  No official word on the cake flavors, but it looks like Mickey is chocolate and Minnie looks like Red Velvet and they both have buttercream icing and chocolate ears.

There are also these themed cake pops to satisfy a quick craving for cake.

Also appearing right now is this pretzel dipped in white chocolate and rolled in peppermint.

We also can’t forget this chocolate coated marshmallow rolled in peppermint, either.

Toy Story Land Christmas Decorations Spotted This Morning

Toy Story Land Christmas Decorations

Toy Story Land just got a lot more jolly! Christmas decorations popped up around the area this morning along with a few surprises!   The newest addition at Hollywood Studios shrinks you down to the size of a toy and puts you right in the middle of Andy’s backyard. The oversized holiday decore fits the story perfectly, making it feel as though Andy grabbed some of his favorite decorations from inside and scattered them about the backyard.

You’ll find extra large Alien Christmas ornaments smiling just outside of their signature attraction – Alien Swirling Saucers.

Over at Slinky Dog Dash Andy has made Rex some cardboard antlers and strung up some festive cranberry and popcorn garland nearby!

The Plaza is Now Serving Breakfast At The Magic Kingdom

The Plaza is Now Serving Breakfast At The Magic Kingdom

The Plaza Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World resort is known for its sandwiches and delicious ice cream creations.  It has historically been open for lunch and dinner.  Starting this past Sunday, The Plaza will now be offering breakfast.

We were lucky enough able to get an early morning reservation on opening day.  I love being able to enter the Magic Kingdom before the park opens – great photo opportunities.  We were seated immediately and got a great view of the restaurant’s holiday decorations.

The Plaza is Now Serving Breakfast At The Magic Kingdom

Let’s check out the menu selections.  They have some classic breakfast offerings as well as some new and interesting items such as Lobster Eggs Benedict with Fried Green Tomatoes.

They have a nice selection of kids’ meals choices.  What caught my eye, were the side dishes offerings and great prices.

Let’s check out the entrees.

They have some adult beverages as well as some smoothie choices.

There is also a supplemental menu of additional adult beverage offerings.

I start off all my mornings with coffee.  The coffee served here is the Joffrey’s blend found in most of the restaurants at the Walt Disney World resort.

We also decided to try the raspberry peach smoothie.  This was more ice than fruit smoothie.  I will skip this in the future.

The Plaza is Now Serving Breakfast At The Magic Kingdom

For our first entree, we tried the breakfast platter.  The portion was large and the food was delicious.  We enjoyed the hash browns that were cooked with ham and bacon, giving it a smokey taste.  Of course, any time I can enjoy Mickey Waffles I will do so!  I strongly believe that food genuinely tastes better when it is Mickey shaped.

The Plaza is Now Serving Breakfast At The Magic Kingdom

We were given the choice of grape or strawberry jelly and orange marmalade for our biscuit.

We also opted to try the steak and eggs.  The steak was a nice size and perfectly cooked to order. This will definitely fill you up and get you going in the morning.

Make sure you pay attention here – this is very important.  We also decided to try the biscuits and gravy.  At only $5, how could we say no?  This is a huge portion and a meal in itself.  This is the very important part. If you cannot get an early morning reservation at Be Our Guest or the Crystal Palace inside the Magic Kingdom, or you don’t want to pay the price tags associated with those meals, then the Plaza is for you!  Early access to the Magic Kingdom and a full delicious breakfast for $5 – sign me up!!

At this time, there is no hard copy allergy menu but the manager informed me that they are working on it.  The chef will come to the table and speak with you to create that allergy friendly meal for you.  And they do have the allergy friendly Mickey Waffles available.

The Plaza is Now Serving Breakfast At The Magic Kingdom

Of course, I had to try their bellini and I thought it was the perfect way to end my breakfast.

At this time, The Plaza is currently taking reservations through March 2, 2019. It is currently uncertain if the breakfast will become a permanent offering. You cannot get into the park early without an early reservation time. The Plaza is a one table service credit meal on the Disney Dining Plan.  They also take the Tables in Wonderland discount.

Holiday Souvenir Popcorn Buckets At The Disney Parks

Holiday Souvenir Popcorn Buckets

The Disney Parks have begun their transformations into beautiful holiday winter wonderlands. I always look forward to the seasonal souvenirs for the food and drinks. Just like the Holiday Souvenir Popcorn Buckets, and this year’s buckets have a delightful winter theme.

The refillable popcorn bucket features Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Pluto, Chip and Dale enjoying a fun day in the snow. While Minnie and Pluto build a snowman, the rest of our friends have gotten themselves into a snowball fight! Poor Donald seems to be taking a snowball to the face too.

The handle and lid are even a fabulous iridescent blue, that is reminiscent of sparkling ice. I wonder if Elsa helped with that part?

Holiday Souvenir Popcorn Buckets At The Disney Parks

I love popcorn buckets while at the Disney Parks for snacking on the go, and I almost always have to get a new one when I visit! Looking for ways to re-use them once you’re home? I’ve started using them to hold cookies in! They keep the cookies fresh and I don’t have to worry about breaking a ceramic cookie jar!

You can find the new Holiday Souvenir Popcorn Buckets at select popcorn carts throughout the Disney Parks.

Watch as Cast Members Bring Christmas to Magic Kingdom in One Night

Watch as Cast Members bring Christmas to the Magic Kingdom in one night! We went to sleep with fall colors and pumpkins around the Disney parks but when we awoke the next day (as if by magic) Christmas has come to Walt Disney World. Hundreds of Cast Members work hard throughout the night to make the magical change over that inspires awe from guests as they walk through the gates.  With less than 7 hours to spare, fall has to be taken down and replaced with Christmas decor! The iconic Christmas tree is transported into the park and brought to life as well in just one night.  Walking down Main St in the Magic Kingdom for the first time after the change over is an emotional experience you will never forget. It never gets old no matter how many times you see it.

The Sword is Not in the Stone

The Sword is Not in the Stone

Since February 2018 Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel has been under refurbishment and we were happy to announce it has since re-opened. There is still one crucial detail missing from the front of the iconic attraction. The Sword in the Stone, along with its Anvil housing, is still missing!

Along with changes to the area near the carousel, that came with the refurbishment, the anvil and sword were removed to be maintenance before their return to the attraction area. In its place, a similarly styled piece of “stone” has been put into the rock base until the anvil and swords reappearance, which will hopefully be soon.

The Sword is Not in the Stone

When the Sword is in its proper place guests would get the chance to participate in the Sword in the Stone Ceremony. Two cast members dressed as citizens of fantasyland, share the beloved and classic tale of The Sword in the Stone. After the story is shared they choose a few lucky guests to try their luck then show their strength and attempt to remove the Sword from the Stone. In a magical moment for a special guest, the sword lifts slightly out of the anvil as the crowd cheers for the new royal guest specially chosen by the sword.

“Whoso pulleth out this sword of this stone and anvil is rightwise king born of England.” -The Sword in The Stone

The Sword is Not in the Stone

There has been no word yet on when the sword will reappear. When it does, we will be here to share the news with you. Until then keep a look out for the rightful King, or Queen, of England.

Magic Kingdom Carousel No Longer Under Refurbishment

Magic Kingdom Carousel No Longer Under Refurbishment

Since February, the turn of the century majestic Prince Charming Regal Carousel in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland has been covered up in certain areas while undergoing refurbishment until now.

The ornate medieval tent with 90 wood-carved horses is now gleaming in its full glory sans scaffolding.  Guests will now be able to take in the beautiful and unique flower garlands and feathers that ordain the majestic steeds.

It just makes you feel like a kid again when you hop on one of the prancing horses doesn’t it?  There’s just something about hearing the old-fashioned organ or basking in the 2,300 shimmering lights at night during your ride.

Here’s a hint: Don’t forget to look up and notice the 18 hand-painted vignettes capturing the story of Cinderella on the inner rounding boards above the horses.  Absolutely breathtaking.

Now that the routine maintenance and touch up is finished will you be visiting and taking a ride?
