Festive PhotoPass Magic Shots During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party

Festive PhotoPass Magic Shots and More During Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Get ready because Christmas has already arrived at Walt Disney World Resort.  It’s too early you say?  Nah.  You simply can’t fit Disney’s Christmas spirit into only one month.  Beginning tomorrow, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off at the Magic Kingdom Park with new merry magic shots and more!

While enjoying the party, make sure track down a Disney PhotoPass photographer in order to capture these special party only photo ops.  Below are some of the ones you will find during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

You gotta love Christmas cookies. Capture a Mickey Christmas cookie in the Mickey Mouse Cookie Magic Shot available in Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland.  Lift a giant candy cane above your head in the Candy Cane Magic Shot in front of Cinderella Castle and on the bridges leading to Liberty Square, Tomorrowland, and Fantasyland.

For many guests, the Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade is a tradition.  What better way to celebrate the memories of the parade than adding a little of the parade to your photos.    Watch as Toy Soldiers march right into your photo on Main Street U.S.A. or pose for photographers at the park entrance with a Magic Shot that includes loveable reindeer and a festive gingerbread man.

Look for your favorite Disney characters to join your photos too!  On Main Street U.S.A. Tinker Bell dressed in her holiday’s best joins your photo while Olaf pops into photos taken on the bridges leading to Liberty Square, Tomorrowland, and Fantasyland.

Spark holiday romance with the Mistletoe Magic Shot or get a special Animated Magic Shot when you meet Santa Claus.

Also at various locations, look for photographers with holly-jolly props for you to include in your photos.  One of my favorite merry photo offerings is the new Tinker Bell lantern.  Find Tink and her lantern in Fantasyland near Enchanted Tales with Belle.

Don’t forget that the PhotoPass photographers will be on hand to capture magical memories at Character Experiences during the event.

Want to spread holiday cheer all throughout your home?  If you purchase the Memory Maker One Day, apply the entitlement to the day you attend the party.  You get the digital downloads of all your PhotoPass photos linked to your Disney account taken on the day of your choice.   Memory Maker One Day also send photo downloads to your My Disney Experience app once you’ve linked at least one Disney PhotoPass photo to your account.  Don’t worry if you forget to purchase the Memory Maker One Day before your trip, you can also purchase it inside Town Square Theater at Magic Kingdom Park.

Keep in mind that PhotoPass photos and any other digital content downloaded to your account (excluding annual pass holders) will expire 45 days from the date the photo was taken so remember to order special framed prints or save to your devices.   Guests may request to extend the expiration date to 60 days from the date the photo was taken however there is a fee for this.

If you are making Walt Disney World your home for the holidays let’s see some magical holiday cheer!

Pumpkin Pie Cupcake Pops Up at Saratoga Springs

Pumpkin Pie Cupcake Pops Up at Saratoga Springs

Pumpkin Pie Cupcake Pops Up at Saratoga Springs

The pumpkin pie cupcake has popped up at Walt Disney World’s Saratoga Springs Resort.  Head over to the Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort to celebrate Thanksgiving with this delicious new cupcake!

During my recent “runcation” with my friends, we stayed at Saratoga Springs.  There is no better way to a start a Disney World vacation than a Disney cupcake! My friends and I gobbled this cupcake right up.  It was SO yummy! This cupcake starts with pumpkin cake, and then they add even more pumpkin with the classic pumpkin pie filling.  What is pumpkin pie without a dollop of whip cream, right?! Beautiful “pillows” of spiced whip cream are placed on top with chocolate Mickey ears and crispy pearls that add a great crunch.  At $5.99 or one snack credit, I think I will buy a few of these this year instead of baking my own pumpkin pie!

What is a better Thanksgiving dessert mashup than the classic pumpkin pie and a Disney cupcake?! Be sure to pop over to Saratoga Springs this November to treat your self.  Is pumpkin pie for family’s go-to Thanksgiving dessert? Post in the comments below.  Stay hungry Disney friends!

Jingle Bell Jingle Bam Dessert Party Is Back At Hollywood Studios

Jingle Bell Jingle Bam Dessert Party Returns to Hollywood Studios

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bam, Jingle all the Way! It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  The holidays have arrived at the Walt Disney World Resort.  Last night, Disney’s Hollywood Studios kicked off the season with the return of the Jingle Bell Jingle Bam! Fireworks show, and with that also came the return of the event’s dessert party. We were invited to addend this season’s inaugural party.  Let’s check out all the details!

You can check in around 6:15 pm at the podium that is set up in front of the Chinese theater (the home of the now gone Great Movie Ride). The party is scheduled to start at 7 pm, but they will let you in a few minutes earlier.

At the check in is where you will pick up your party credentials lanyard.  This is yours to keep and I think it makes a great souvenir!  There is also a portion on the bottom that you will pull off to collect your gift at the end of the party.

Once you collect your lanyard, you are able to get in line to go into the party. The party is held in the courtyard in front of the theater.  When you arrive, you are given your table assignment and directions to your table.

I am so happy that the party is now assigning tables.  Everyone is able to have a seat.  In the past, not every table had chairs and there were many guests left standing.  This is a huge improvement.

Your table assignment also includes a time to get your photo with the Big Guy himself – that’s right, Santa Goofy is back!  This is one of my favorite meets.  Goofy brings his own special brand of holiday cheer!

Now let’s talk about what is on everyone’s mind – the party eats!!!

There are multiple stations for all the yummy offerings.  There are two sweet stations (with identical offerings), two savory stations (with identical offerings), a bar for those adult beverages, a frozen treats station, and an additional beverage station.  Let’s check them out.

Here is the sweet station.

Of course, there are cupcakes!

We enjoyed a holiday Yule log treat.

Chocolate fondue and lots of dipping choices.

Let’s just look at this for a moment – it’s so beautiful!

I loved this dark chocolate peppermint cake.

Pumpkin bread pudding – this was amazing!

And of course you need some vanilla bean ice cream to top off all the treats!

Jingle Bell Jingle Bam Dessert Party Is Back At Hollywood Studios

Now on to the savory station! I am going to say that I am really happy to see more savory options coming into these parties.  It is a nice balance.  The only thing I would have liked to see added is maybe some hard cheeses and fruit offerings.

They had a sweet and salty trail mix.

I was thrilled that there was both pretzel breed and naan bread.

What do you use all that bread for?  Cheese fondue, of course!  I could eat that all night long!  That is just the most beautiful sight (next to that chocolate fondue of course)!

There are housemade chips and onion dip.

And to finish it off, a warm spinach and artichoke dip.

There were some festive adult beverage offerings as well.  These are included in the party pricing.

My favorites were the hot chocolate martini and the holiday punch.

And of course, there is some Elf Juice!

Now that you have had all of this deliciousness, don’t forget to get your ornament and head to the viewing area.

You also get these wonderful glasses that give some special holiday effects when you look at all the lights.

Jingle Bell Jingle Bam Dessert Party Is Back At Hollywood Studios

The viewing area continues to be my only issue with this event.  You are in the small stage area in front of the theater.  The cast members advise everyone to sit so that you are not blocking those who don’t have party viewing.  While most people do sit, there is always the occasional person (usually someone right in the front) who will stand and block the view (you can see this in the photos).  However, the other issue is that this area is so close that you really can’t see the fireworks but you have a great view of the projections.  I would suggest that this viewing area is moved to where the Star Wars viewing area is.  Other than that, it’s an amazing and super fun event.

It’s that time of year when the holidays bring even more magic to Disney experiences available for guests. Though we are familiar with the events taking place in the parks, not everyone knows there are plenty of seasonal events and offerings for guests staying at The Disney Parks Resorts as well.

For guests staying at Port Orleans French Quarter Resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL, there is a fun event for the whole family to do together. The Winter Wonderland Snowflake Scavenger Hunt. This scavenger hunt is a great chance to tour the resort and follow the clues written on the sheet given to guests who wish to participate.

The sheet states: “Welcome to Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter! Our Resort has been sprinkled with glittering snowflakes, and we need your help to find them all. Follow the clues on this guide to find our flurry of snowflakes, each one framing a beloved Disney character. Write the name of the character and the location you found them in the blank space provided, and return your completed clue guide to the Front Desk to receive your frosty surprise!”.

The hunt takes you around the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort as you follow the 10 clues to locate the snowflakes hidden throughout the resort. Once guests finish the adventurous hunt they can bring their filled out Winter Wonderland Snowflake Scavenger Hunt sheet to the Cast Members at the Front Desk of the resort and get a special reward. Toy Story Land is Tons of Fun This Christmas

Toy Story Land Fun at Christmas

Toy Story Land Fun at Christmas

On a regular day at Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Land is super fun, but this Christmas it’s a regular Barrel of Monkeys! With a surprise earlier than previously announced start to Flurry of Fun at Hollywood Studios came exciting holiday decor, a holly jolly touch to character meet and greets, extra special holiday music, and even the Green Army Men have gotten into the holiday spirit!  With all of the Toy Story Land fun making its debut yesterday morning and we couldn’t help but check it out.

Toy Story Land Christmas

In Toy Story Land, you feel like you’ve been shrunk down to the size of a toy. These Christmas bulbs really add to that feeling, don’t they?

Christmas Balls

Garland

While we are in the tree trimming spirit, how adorable is the cranberry and popcorn garland hanging over Woody’s Lunch Box?

Hamm cookie

Seriously, how adorable is this Hamm sugar cookie? Poor Andy must have dropped one of his Christmas treats!

Christmas Woody

Woody is all decked out for the Holidays, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his typical cowboy swagger.

Toy Story Land is Tons of Fun This Christmas

Here comes Santa Clause, here comes Santa Clause… Oh, wait! It’s just Buzz. How adorable is he in his Santa hat?!

Jessie

The rootinest tootinest Cowgirl in the west is looking pretty spiffy in that Christmas vest!

Woody

How adorable is Woody’s candy cane?

Christmas army men

Even the Green Army Men are feeling the spirit with their Christmas scarves. We assume they are standard issue.

Incredibles 2 Out Now and Full of Extras

Incredibles 2 Out Now and Full of Extras

Incredibles 2 has arrived on Blu-ray 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and On-Demand, and it is full of fantastic extras!  While reuniting with the beloved characters, we also get to go behind the scenes, hear from creators, and enjoy even more laughs.

Incredibles 2 Out Now and Full of Extras

The short film Bao preceded the movie in theaters and is included.  But we also get a sort of “making of” feature which made me enjoy and understand the short even more.  Even learning that the title, when said one way means a steamed bun and another way means something precious, gave it so much more depth.

The new mini-movie, Auntie Edna shows us what happens when Edna babysits Jack-Jack for the night and what her process looks like.  She watches his powers (with a few surprises!), and then she gets to work on his suit.  This one was hilarious.

YouTube player

The Coolest Guy in Show Business is an intriguing look at Samuel l. Jackson and Frozone.  I enjoyed learning about his background and what makes him tick.  Seeing him discuss his limited world growing up versus the unlimited world of comic books was powerful.

Probably my favorite of the extras is Paths to Pixar: Everyday Heroes.  People who worked on the film talk about work-life balance and how it plays out in the movie.  It sounds mundane, but it was fascinating.  Seeing the correlations between real-life families and the Supers on screen made the film even more relatable.  And the discussion about how Jack-Jack is the perfect toddler is spot on.  Parents especially will appreciate this feature.

Incredibles 2 Out Now and Full of Extras

Additionally, there are super scene breakdowns, more behind-the-scenes features, character theme songs, animation outtakes, a music video, and more.  The extras on this are great.

Alien Holiday Popcorn Buckets At Hollywood Studios

Alien Holiday Popcorn Buckets

Ooooooo a new Holiday novelty has landed at Hollywood Studios! You can now find Green Alien Holiday Popcorn Buckets at Hollywood Studios. Be warned though, these adorable little guys are disappearing faster than you can say “The Claw”!

Alien Holiday Popcorn Buckets At Hollywood Studios

Currently the Green Alien bucket is only available at Hollywood Studios, unlike the Holiday Pluto one which can be found at all of the Parks. The bucket has the iconic expression we’ve come to adore, but it has swapped out its blue suit, for a Santa suit! You can bring this little cutie home for $25.00. The carrying strap has different panels of the Green Aliens on a cheerful red strap.

I know I’m adding yet another novelty popcorn bucket to my list!

The Green Alien Holiday Popcorn Buckets have been very popular! Will you be adding this holiday novelty to your must have list?

Home for the Holidays Event Comes to Disney Museum

home for the holidays

The Walt Disney Family Museum is excited to announce the return of Home for the Holidays at Carolwood, an immersive seasonal installation that celebrates Walt’s family and his love of trains. The exhibition will be free to the public, and on view in the museum’s Theater Gallery from November 15, 2018 to January 7, 2019.

home for the holidays

Walt Disney is known for many things. He’s known for creating Disneyland and for working on plans for Disney World. He’s known for designing opportunities for parents and children to enjoy activities and entertainment together. Walt is also known for his unmatched fascination with trains. He loved trains so much, that he had a track built around his own private residence. He even had a small train on which he could ride with his daughters.

The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco celebrates all things related to Walt, his life, his creativity and his genius. This holiday season, the museum is hosting the “Home for the Holidays at Carolwood” exhibit, which celebrates Walt, his love for his family and his love for trains.

An elaborate, three-dimensional model of the Disney family home, which once stood on Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills section of Los Angeles, will be the most prominent element of the exhibition, featuring a miniature version of Walt’s steam locomotive, the Lilly Belle. Decorated with seasonal lights and greenery, this colorful and intricate scale model will be ceremoniously illuminated for the first time on Walt’s birthday, Wednesday, December 5, coinciding with the museum’s free admission day.

Additionally, The Walt Disney Family Museum will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary throughout 2019 with a year of family-friendly activities and workshops, exclusive events, and an exciting array of talks and screenings.
