To celebrate Earth Day, Disneyland Paris discusses two ways the resort is striving to reduce waste and preserve the environment!

Diverting Waste

Disneyland Paris is celebrating Earth Day by fully dedicated resources to improving waste management. Two teams have been selected to follow the company’s goal to prevent and divert waste. These two teams focus on recycling, composting and biomethanization. An example of diverting waste is through the containers, bins and specific waste compactors which are available throughout backstage areas. The two teams collect and sort more than 20 different categories of operational waste! Disneyland Paris’ aim by 2020 is to reach a 60% operational waste diversion rate.

Preserving the environment for the future by reducing single-use plastic waste

Disneyland Paris has replaced plastic straws and stirrers with 100% biodegradable paper straws, which will be distributed by guest request. This initiative is part of the Walt Disney Company’s continuing commitment to reducing the use of plastic products throughout its resorts.

Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge is Now on the Play Disney Parks App

Now on the Play Disney Parks App you can see inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Guest visiting the parks will also get a sneak peek at the interactive games on the app while in the parks. Take a look at screenshots from the app here:

First, we will start with Walt Disney World. When you open the app you can choose from WDW or DL. I chose WDW for the first set of pics and as you can see, even on the main screen they have added Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to the map. Once you click Disney’s Hollywood Studios it takes you to the next screen where you can zoom in on Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and see the details even closer!

Isn’t it so cute how it is laid out? I love the artistry and animation. If you click the little white bubble to the right it takes you to the next screen that gives you more information about the land opening and gives you a fun video on how the app will work. Check that out next.

You can see the information about the land here. “Beginning August 29th, 2019, enhance your adventure at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge with Play Disney Parks! Soon after you arrive in this all-new land, you’ll be able to transform the app into your very own Star Wars Datapad-which you can use to hack into droids, scan encrypted cargo, tune into transmissions, translate galactic languages…and even help prepare the Millennium Falcon for hyperspace!” The following slides show you screen shots of the video!

I also took screen grabs of the Disneyland portion! The video is the same here but you can see the screen is laid out differently for the land at DL vs. WDW.

An Entertaining Night Out At Maria And Enzo’s

We recently had the opportunity to eat at Maria & Enzo’s located in Disney Springs. Maria & Enzo’s offers Italian food based on Sicilian cuisine, so you know you’ll be in for some good food! We love this restaurant and we were excited to return to see some of the new nightly entertainment.

Once inside, you are met with a beautiful art deco travel theme. It’s so stunning inside that it made us feel like we were really having a nice night out. I love all the little nods to the various travel locations throughout the restaurant. Located on the ceiling is a big globe and surrounding it are various places one may want to travel too. Of course, what is a restaurant is we don’t discuss the food! Maria & Enzo’s has a fabulous selection of both hearty pasta dishes as well as lighter fare.

We went with two pasta dishes for dinner, the first being the Potato Gnocchi and the second being the Chicken Sausage Ragù. Both dishes came out at exactly the same time which we highly appreciated. Our meals were so good and cooked perfectly. The pasta was tender and the sauces flavorful. I would highly recommend either of these dishes when you go.

What sets apart Maria & Enzo’s from the other options at Disney Springs are the nightly entertainment offerings. We were so impressed by the violinist! I think we heard just about every Disney classic song as well as many others. Also equally fascinating was the balloon maker on stilts. We really loved watching both of these entertainers interact with all guests both young and old. It really turned our dinner into an experience rather than just another meal out.

Since we enjoyed our pasta so much, we KNEW dessert had to be just as good! Thankfully and not unexpectedly, we were not wrong.

The dessert in the cup is the Affogato Del Vesuvio while the one on the plate is the Enzo’s Torta. Both were so good and the perfect way to end our meal. We also giggled a little bit at the option to have dessert in a glass. Overall we loved our experience at Maria & Enzo’s. If you are coming to Disney World or even if you are local it’s worth checking out!

Disney’s The Lion King Exclusive Photos From Entertainment Weekly

Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Lion King journeys into the African savanna where a future king is born July 19th, 2019. Following the same storyline as the animated classic, we follow Simba as he tries to follow in his father, King Mufasa, footsteps on his journey to be king.

The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon, and utilizes pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring treasured characters to life in a whole new way. Entertainment Weekly revealed some fantastic shots from the film and it has us on the edge of our seat waiting for the king to take his throne.

Circles have no end, but they do have a center in Pride Rock, the majestic mountain setpiece where the animal kingdom bends the knee (assuming they’re anatomically able) to king Mufasa’s royal family.

Young Simba (McCrary) and Nala (Shahadi Wright Joseph) pad around the Pride Lands under the watchful eye of avian royal adviser, Zazu (John Oliver).

The trauma and psychological posession of Scar (Chiwetel Ejiofor), the black-sheep brother of Mufasa, is openly worn on the villain, who stakes his claim to the throne with the support of his vicious — and hungry — hyena cronies. (His most loyal trio, now named Azizi, Shenzi, and Kamari, are played by Eric André, Florence Kasumba, and Keegan-Michael Key.)

Exiled from his home, a now-grown Simba (Donald Glover) finds companionship in warthog Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) and meerkat Timon (Billy Eichner), whose philosophies on life may have offered a guiding light to the younger cub, but conflict with the older Simba’s memory of his father’s wisdom about the secrets of the stars.

A young Simba (JD McCrary) trails behind his father (James Earl Jones, reprising his 1994 performance as Mufasa) in Favreau’s photo-realistic reimagining of this iconic scene, in which king Mufasa lectures his son about the bounds of the kingdom he’ll one day inherit.

Ask any crew member of The Lion King about “the Rafiki test” and you’ll get a crash-course in just what it took to bring the animals of the savannah to astonishing animated life in Jon Favreau’s 2019 adaptation. The mystic mandrill, voiced by Black Panther‘s John Kani, was an early barometer for the technological capabilities that went into the making of the film.

New Dark Berry Dr. Pepper Coming to Celebrate Spiderman Far From Home. There is something exciting coming to for Dr. Pepper fans on May 1st! New, limited edition, Dr. Pepper Dark Berry will make its debut to celebrate Spiderman Far From Home! The new Dark Berry flavor will feature blackberry black currant and black cherry. Coming to the market May 1st in 12-pack 12 oz. cans and 20 oz. bottles. The new packaging is all blue instead of the normal maroon branding. This new flavor will join the existing flavors including regular, diet, cherry and cherry vanilla.

It’s not sure how long the flavor will stick around but other limited flavors released have been brought back to become part of the brand. The release is perfect timing to celebrate Spiderman Far From coming to theaters July 5th, 2019.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will commemorate its 30th Anniversary on May 1st, 2019 with a special After Hours night! At the event, you will be able to meet special characters, experience little to no-wait times on your favorite attractions, and more!

John Boyega Feels His Time As Finn In Star Wars Is Over. It’s an end of a era, as the next and final installation of the Skywalker Saga for Star Wars comes to an end. But does this mean an end for our favorite characters who are not a Skywalker?

It has been announced previously that Lucasfilm and Disney will be taking a break from filming any more Star Wars featured films after the release of Star Wars Episode IX. The main reasons being and an over saturation of Star Wars films in the box office as well as the poor responses to the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story. But what does this mean for the other characters in the Star Wars franchise? For John Boyega, he seems to think his time is up for good as our favorite rogue stormtrooper, Finn. Check out what he had to say in a recent interview with MTV News.

During an interview with Josh Horowitz at the Star Wars Celebration 2019, John Boyega was asked: “Do you think you’re ever gonna play this character [Finn] again?” Boyega paused for a beat before answering: “Honestly… Honestly, the bottom of my heart, I don’t think I am. I don’t think I am. I feel like it’s– I really do feel that way.” He went on to state: “This really is that movie, I think everyone doesn’t believe it, but this is that war that just ends everything.”

This comes as a bit of a surprisedly open response, due to the normally very strict secret keeping by both filmmakers and actors that is usually associated with the Star Wars films. Though John gave nothing away in regards to his character or details of the film, this does beg the question, why does he feel this way? Does Finn make it through Episode IX? Will there be a happy ending to the Skywalker saga? Was a production possibly in the works, but Boyega wants to move on from the role?

Unfortunately we may not get more insight on these burning questions until the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker theatrical release in December 2019.

Hollywood Studios is gearing up to kicking off two exciting celebration nights during their upcoming after hours events! The most exciting might just be the second event, May the Fourth be with you at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Star Wars fans across the galaxy won’t want to miss this year’s celebration on May 4, 2019. Throughout the night, guests will have the opportunity to encounter Chewbacca, Rey, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and more at the after hours event.

To top off the event, guests will also have the opportunity to purchase themed merchandise and special treats all geared towards Star Wars!

For guests planning on dressing up during the May the Fourth be with you Star Wars after hours event must adhere to the Disney Costume guidelines as Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or that could detract from the experience of other guests. Costumes must be family-friendly and my not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
