Fans Want Danny DeVito To Be The Next Wolverine, But The Role May Already Be Cast. With rumors swirling that Disney is looking to reboot the X-Men franchise, Fans are speculating who will be cast as one of the most iconic comic book characters and there are some interesting theories.

This last week the internet has been buzzing about who will play the next “Wolverine”, with many fans leaning towards the casting of Danny DeVito. Yes, the actor best know by Disney fans for his roles as Phil in Hercules and as Medici in the live-action Dumbo (2019), has been petitioned to be the new Logan/Wolverine.

The idea is so popular among fans that Digital Artist, Stuart Cooper, released his version of Danny DeVito as “The Wolverine” and it is both amazing and terrifying (insert crying/laughing emoji here) and it has gone viral online. Here is the none-cropped version of the image.

You won’t get that out of your head for the next week, or look at Danny DeVito the same way again. As great and hilarious Danny DeVito would be in the role, it seems Marvel Studios may have already cast the next Wolverine, unbeknownst to fans.

According to NerdBot.com, a source from Marvel Studios claims Charlie Hunnam has been cast as the next Wolverine in the X-Men franchise that now belongs to the Walt Disney Company after the Disney-Fox merger.

The Sons of Anarchy Star and Marvel Studios have not confirmed the casting, but Hunnam is an excellent casting choice and will give a great performance as Logan/Wolverine.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) heads into Phase 4 after the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the merger has opened many doors for the studio, and a reboot of the X-Men franchise under the guise of the Multiverse (being introduced in the new Spider-Man film) gives Disney a clean slate to introduce new characters that were previously unavailable to the studio.

New Lion King Inspired Tree of Life Awakenings Begins

The Tree of Life came alive last night with the new Lion King Tree of Life Awakenings! In addition to the Tree coming alive, the new Rivers of Light: We Are One show debuted last night! Check out all these beautiful photos our local writer got last night.

Also, just reopened: The Tree of Life Garden Trail is a pathway that takes guests throughout the roots and allows guests to get an up-close view of the animal carvings on the Tree of Life. There are two access points for this trail. One is located near It’s Tough to be a Bug! while the other is located near Creature Comforts. The Tree of Life Garden Trail allows guests to view the Tree of Life up close. One of the things that makes the Tree of Life so special is that it has various animals carved into its trunk. Now guests can have a better vantage point for spotting all of the species that make up the Animal Kingdom, such as the porcupine, squirrel, ant, and countless others!

Producer of Disney’s “The Lion King” Don Hahn Keeps Up Tradition at Art of Animation Resort

The producer of Disney’s animated classic “The Lion King” Don Hahn recently visited the Walt Disney World Resort. Don Hahn stopped by the Art of Animation to talk about his latest article for Disney Vacation Club. “The Lion King” is about to celebrate its 25th anniversary, and the summer edition of Disney Files Magazine will feature amazing illustrations and a tribute to classic. In the article Don Hahn spoke about the humble beginnings of the record-breaking film.

In addition to the article, while visiting the resort Don Hahn also filmed “the birth of a king”. “The birth of a king” is the companion to the DVC article. Of course “The Lion King” courtyard made for an amazingly themed backdrop and was fitting to celebrate. “The Lion King” is one of four themed areas at the Art of Animation Resort.

Also during his visit the producer of Disney’s “The Lion King” kept up with tradition at Art of Animation Resort by signing one of the chandelier storyboards. The chandelier can be found in the resort’s lobby. Uniquely these storyboards are made up of translucent panels which feature art that helped guide the development of Disney and Pixar films. In addition to Don’s signature several of the panels are signed by filmmakers and voice actors that are represented on the storyboards. The storyboard that was signed was a picture of the elephant’s graveyard from “The Lion King”. Without a doubt I’ll make sure I look for the panel next time I’m at the Art of Animation Resort.

Leave A Legacy Removal Begins At Epcot

Epcot is under even more construction! We noticed some work walls up for the start of the Leave A Legacy removal at Epcot. As previously reported, this removal is only one step of the many changes coming to Epcot. Once removed, the monoliths will be relocated to a spot outside of the main entrance. Currently, the details of the specific location have not been announced.

The Leave A Legacy program started as a a way for guests to commemorate their visit or celebration. The program was launched in 2000 and discontinued in 2007. This program was very similar to the commemorative bricks located at Magic Kingdom’s main entrance. Oddly enough construction is occurring there as well. The major difference is that those bricks are being destroyed, not relocated.

Currently, Leave A Legacy removal work is only covering up the monoliths on the righthand side. However, the monoliths are still standing and exposed on the lefthand side. If you have a portrait or quote located on the left side, you may want to visit it soon! It’s only a matter of time until those monoliths are covered up for their removal and relocation.

With this construction going on it did take a little bit of extra time to get past Spaceship Earth. The work walls really take over most of the pathway on the right side. Hopefully construction will only be completed one side at a time. If it’s decided to remove both halves of Leave A Legacy at the same time, it will really interfere with the flow of traffic.

Get Your First Look at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! Disney has released images of the new Guidemaps for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland. The Guidemaps break down the land and you can see the full size comparison to the other lands in the park. There will be 3 entrances to the 14 acre land at the park too!

When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens May 31, it will be the largest and most technologically advanced single-themed land expansion ever in a Disney park. You’ll step right into a remote planet full of unique sights, sounds, smells, tastes and other immersive experiences. You can also now view the land on the Disneyland app as well.

The grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland is next week! We are so excited we have goosebumps just thinking about it. Chip will be on hand to cover the event in person and we will bring you all the coverage you could ask for on the opening. If you want to watch it first hand, Disney will be doing a live broadcast of the dedication ceremony!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Move in the Works

A movie based on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic could be on the horizon!

Knights of the Old Republic aka KOTOR is a video game that was first released in 2003. This role-playing game is about Jedi vs. the Sith nearly 4,000 years before the world of Star Wars: A New Hope.

In the game, you help fight an uprising against the Republic led by Sith Lord, Darth Malak. You will join forces with Bastila Shan who is a Jedi Knight. Bastila Shan is also one of the most famous female characters in the Star Wars universe. The game also uncluded Wookiees, drois, the Jedi Academy, and the Force.

This Star Wars fan favorite is speculated to be currently written by Laeta Kalogridis (Avatar, Shutter Island). Kalogridis is working on finishing up the script for part one of a new trilogy. She will be the first woman writer for Star Wars since 1980 with The Empire Strikes Back.

Disney announced that the next film trilogy will be released in 2022. We already know that this film will be led by Game of Thrones creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Fans have speculates that Benioff and Weiss will steward Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, but Kalogridis was hired last year to develop the project.

Rivers of Light: We Are One Show Debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A new chapter of “Rivers of Light” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was unveiled last night! Two years ago “Rivers of Light” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom debuted and dazzled us with a beautiful nighttime water show with enchanting music, special effects, lantern floats, and gorgeous imagery.

We were on hand for the first showing of the new light and water show last night. It was a beautifully choreographed performance that had the most amazing backdrop ever in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Check out some of the photos our local writer took!

Walt Disney Studios Expansion Update

Disneyland Paris has released more information regarding the Walt Disney Studios expansion, as the main construction works begin the end of this year! According to Disneyland Paris, the upcoming Walt Disney Studios expansion will include a lake which will be the largest natural stage of Walt Disney Studios Park!

The shimmering lake will be a 3-hectare lake and boast to be created with beautiful lakeside promenades, landscaped banks, waterfront restaurants and impressive vistas. This lake will be the new leisure hub of Walt Disney Studios.

Not only will the lake be an impressive feature to the park, but it will also serve as a unique entertainment stage with a 360° viewing area. The lake will be fitted with the latest technologies to provide exciting water-based spectacles, complete with fountains, music and lights, special effects that are sure to delight guests.

David Wilson, site portfolio executive for Euro Disneyland Imagineering describes the lake as “the new, open-air development will add to the beauty and immersiveness of Walt Disney Studios Park, while providing the perfect centre stage for not only daytime shows but also nighttime spectaculars. It will completely rejuvenate the park’s experience,”.

The lake will also serve as a gateway to new themed universes that will surround it. Guests will find themselves immersed in the Arendelle, mesmerised by the 40 meter-high mountain. After leaving Arendelle, guests will find themselves living their Jedi dreams in an area dedicated to a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars land. Both lands promise to feature one major attraction alongside a dining location, shops and character encounter opportunities.

Similar to Disneyland Park, the development will be complemented by a tall, landscaped berm at the perimeter that will help mitigate potential impact to the neighbouring region.

Tons of Spooky Fun for All Ages is Coming to the Oogie Boogie Bash

This fall, there will be tons of spooky fun for all ages coming to the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure Park. This all-new separately ticketed event will include a whole list of new experiences and entertainment.

At the top of this list are some great options for tweens. Check out all of these options that your tween is sure to love!

Look for the DescenDANCE Party in the Backlot area of Hollywood Land. Inspired by the “Descendents” franchise from the Disney channel, this all-new party will feature all of the popular songs from the movies and maybe even some of your favorites from the Isle of the Lost, including all of your favorite “Villain Kids”. A DJ will also play after the wicket guests have returned to their island, inviting guests to continue dancing through the evening.

“Villainous!” is the new “World of Color” show incorporating the Halloween story of a little girl named Shelley Marie. Shelley Marie explores the villains of Disney through this tale filled with lights, projections and other special effects, while learning that everyone has a little villain in them!

The all-new, fully immersive treat trails are not just for little kids! There is so much to see along these trails throughout the park. Beloved characters such as the Mad Hatter may pop up to surprise guests. You may even see Oogie Boogie himself! The trails will also feature large cauldrons filled with treats for all guests to enjoy.

There will be plenty of opportunities for character encounters as well. You will find many of your favorite classic characters but who knows what other wicked surprises may be in store? Be on the lookout for some of your favorite villains at this party that may include Jafar, Dr. Facilier and even Maleficent!

Finally, the “Frightfully Fun Parade” is coming to Disney California Adventure for the first time! Of course, the Headless Horseman will start the procession followed by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and many other favorites, including more mischievous Disney villains.
