Disney’s Live Action Lion King film premieres this summer in July! To commemorate the event, Disney and Pandora have collaborated for a beautiful new collection. The Lion King Pandora Collection captures the magic of the original animated classic, while celebrating the new film.

The Art of Pandora has shown off a special sneak peek of this fabulous collection! The beautiful new assortment will be available at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, in Pandora stores, and online at us.pandora.net. You can expect to see this collection released just in time for the movie on Thursday, July 4th!

The centerpiece of this collection is a stunning new bangle bracelet, with a round clasp. The clasp is etched with the iconic “Simba” drawing that Rafiki creates. This bracelet would be the perfect home to a collection of Lion King inspired charms too!

Yellow and Purple crystals embrace the Simba & Nala Heart Charm! This heart shaped button charm features Simba and Nala smile at one another with cut out hearts along the sides.

We can’t have a Lion King collection without our favorite pals Timon and Pumba! This Hakuna Matata inspired dangle charm features Simba, Timon, and Pumba. A leafy green disk contrasts in the background, for a beautiful jungle vibe.

About the Walt Disney World Monorail System

The last time one of the monorails had a new wrap was in 2018 for release of the Incredibles 2 movie. Did you see it?

The Walt Disney World monorail system is one of the most heavily used monorail systems in the world! The monorail has three lines: Magic Kingdom Resort and Express and Epcot.

Magic Kingdom Express service runs between the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC).

Magic Kingdom Resort line makes stops in order at the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the Transportation and Ticket Center, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

The Epcot line has service between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Epcot.

“Toy Story 4” Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to Feature Song Performed by Chris Stapleton

Woody, Buzz and the gang are back in the highly anticipated Disney and Pixar animated film, “Toy Story 4.” Accompanying the film is Walt Disney Records’ soundtrack album, which reunites the Toy Story franchise with the Academy Award®-winning composer and songwriter Randy Newman. The soundtrack features two new songs “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away” and “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy.” The end credit version of “The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” is performed by multi-Platinum, Grammy®-winning musician Chris Stapleton. The song is available today as a single and lyric video. The soundtrack will be available from Walt Disney Records on June 21 as the film opens in U.S. theaters nationwide.

The “Toy Story” films are beloved worldwide for their compelling characters, extraordinary storytelling, stunning visuals and the music of Randy Newman. The composer and songwriter is behind signature songs like “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” “Strange Things,” “When She Loved Me” and “We Belong Together,” the last of which earned him an Academy Award® for best original song in 2010. “His music defines these movies,” said director Josh Cooley, “I can’t imagine making a fourth one without Randy Newman.”

Newman said, “I have great affection for the films, and it was good to be back in that world again.” According to Newman, “Toy Story 4”—like its predecessors—has great emotional depth. “Important things are happening to people we love,” he said. “There’s plenty of action, but there’s a lot of deeper stuff. This picture had a lot of opportunity to do things of some depth emotionally—but not overdo it.”

Newman penned two new songs in the film, including “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away,” which is about Bonnie’s craft-project-turned-toy, Forky. “He gets it in his head that he’s disposable, so he keeps trying to throw himself in the trash can,” said Newman. “And Woody has put himself in charge of keeping him from doing so.”

“The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy” was written from Woody’s perspective. Newman said, “Woody feels like he was a lonesome cowboy until someone comes along and changes his world.” Newman was excited to hear Chris Stapleton would record the end credit version of the song and felt he’d bring Woody’s feelings to life perfectly. “Chris Stapleton did a great job on this song.”=

Stapleton said, “To me what has made the ‘Toy Story’ films hold up over time has been the strength of the stories and the songs and the writing and the characters. There’s something for people of all ages to enjoy in the world that is ‘Toy Story.’ It’s a tremendous honor to get to sing a Randy Newman song in what is without question one of the most iconic animated franchises in history.”

D23: The Official Disney Fan Club has announced the lineup of the most highly anticipated presentations at D23 Expo 2019, August 23 – 25. The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Parks, and Disney+ Join the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony in the 6,800-Seat “Hall D23” Venue at the Anaheim Convention Center.

The Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, will kick off the Expo on Friday morning, August 23. Later that same day, Disney+ will showcase its exciting slate of original films and series coming to the streaming service, set to launch in the U.S. on November 12. On Saturday morning, The Walt Disney Studios will give fans a sneak peek at their collection of world-class film labels, including Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel
Studios, and Lucasfilm. And on Sunday morning, fans will get a preview of what’s in store at Disney Parks during a presentation hosted by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek.

These Expo favorites will take place in “Hall D23,” the 6,800-seat venue located in Hall D of the Anaheim Convention Center. The schedule of Hall D23 Events and Presentations is as follows (all events subject to change and additional events to be announced in the coming weeks):

The Disney Legends Awards Ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 23. The ceremony, hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, will once again honor those visionaries and artists who have made significant contributions to the Disney legacy. This year’s recipients are: Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Bette Midler, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Ming-Na Wen, and Hans Zimmer.
On Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., the highly anticipated streaming service Disney+ will give guests a first look at some of its original content including Lady and the Tramp, The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and many more during this star-studded presentation.
The Walt Disney Studios will present a behind-the-scenes look at its blockbuster collection of upcoming films on Saturday, August 24, at 10 a.m. Fans will see what’s on the drawing board for the acclaimed filmmakers at Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar Animation Studios and get a peek at the exciting slate of live-action projects, from Disney to Marvel Studios to Star Wars. Art of Animation Lobby Construction

Guests visiting Art of Animation will see new construction in the lobby. Tents are up all the way down the center of the lobby to the Ink & Paint shop (gift shop). Not to worry, check-in is still open for guests.

There is a lot of other construction happening at the Art of Animation. We recently shared photos of a new bathroom facility! Construction is also continuing on the upcoming Disney Skyliner.

During these phases of construction, all resort amenities remain open. The food court, Landscape of Flavors is expansive with a large variety of options. The feature pool is zero entry, plays music underwater and has a nearby splash pad.

Art of Animation has two main room categories: standard rooms and family suites. The standard rooms are Little Mermaid themed and offer two double beds or one king. The family suites are Cars, Lion King and Finding Nemo themed and offer accommodations for up to six guests.

This theory does line up with recent comments from Doctor Strange and Avengers: Endgame Actor, Benedict Wong (Wong).

While appearing at Denver Pop Culture Con, Wong responded to a question about the long awaited sequel to Doctor Strange and hinted that filming could begin “some time next year.”

“I know they’ve now got a writer on board who I met at the Endgame premiere.” Wong explained. “So I think that may be happening some time next year.”

Since the premiere of Doctor Strange in 2016, Marvel has not hesitated to say that the film will get a proper sequel, but that it would take a little more time since the set up for Infinity War and Endgame were the primary focuses of the Studio at the time.

“Sometimes, it’s where do those characters pop up?” Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said of Doctor Strange in an interview last year. “[Doctor] Strange, you know, whenever we do another Strange [movie], which we will do, it will be a number of years from the first Strange, and yet he’s a very big part of Infinity War. So it is just a good problem to have when you have too many beloved characters that people want to see more of, whilst keeping to our core belief that we need to keep exploring nuance and keep doing different types of things.”

If only we had control of the time stone to make it happen a little faster, but good things come to those who wait.

Since the announcement of a sequel, fans have been speculating on the potential storyline, with a heavy sense that Baron Mordo will appear again, this time as a multi-dimensional villain.

“For those of you who have ever read the comics, you know that Baron Mordo has a very particular arc, and that’s something we discussed with Chiwetel [Mordo] while working on the first movie,” C. Robert Cargill said in an interview with Movie Web. “And part of the reason Chiwetel wanted to play Mordo was because he has a definitive ending as a character and it’s such a fascinating ending. And I do know that whether we’re attached or not, that Marvel plans on working towards that ending and fully realizing Mordo as more than just a cardboard cutout villain, but actually taking him to kind of Loki levels of awesomeness. That’s the goal with him.”

Cargill also went on in that interview to say the character, Nightmare, will be the primary villain in ‘Doctor Strange 2.‘

“Marvel movies work in threes. They also work outside of their threes. Some of the better Marvel films have more than one villain in them,” Cargill said to Movie Web. “Me and Scott have not laid the groundwork for it, but what I can say is that I have a feeling that whatever Nightmare is involved with, Baron Mordo, being somebody who considers himself the defender of natural law will have something to do with it.”

We are stoked to see Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), and Chitwetel Ejiofor (Mordo) return to the big screen in what is sure to be a spectacular combination of breath-taking imagery and compelling storytelling from Marvel Studios.
