This is the perfect location to have a little photo shoot session after your makeover at the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique that just opened at the resort.
Even though we all know what this is really about, with the news that a new Beauty and The Beast themed bar coming soon to replace the former Mizner’s Lounge and Commander Porter’s menswear store there is no surprise they are starting to set the mood for it.
This PhotoPass service will be available everyday until 3:30pm.
A piece of the mountain on Disneyland’s Matterhorn ride broke loose yesterday while the park was closed yesterday shutting down part of the ride all day yesterday.
“During overnight maintenance, a portion of decorative rockwork was found to be in need of repair, which we are working quickly to make,” Disneyland officials said in a statement.
The fallen piece did not fall on the track and crews are working to get the other track going again.
Nobody was injured and we are glad Disney closely monitors all attractions for issues like this one.
I would expect longer lines if the missing piece is not fixed when the park opens today.
In just a few days the newest addition to Disney Springs will be having its Grand Opening! The NBA Experience will be opening on August 12, 2019. #DisneyParksLIVE will be there streaming the ceremony and opening day at 9:25 am ET on Disney Parks Blog. There will be many Disney friends as well as NBA and WNBA players there for the opening ceremony. In addition, there will be Espn spokesmen and invited guests and media at the event. It will open to the public at 5 pm on Monday so you can get in on the action, so be sure to bring your A-game.
The stream will give you an inside look at the new facility that is a partnership concept between Disney and the NBA. This one-of-a-kind venue will immerse you in the game of basketball putting you center court in the action. With over 44,000 square feet and multi-stories this complex contains 13 unique basketball activities that will cover many skills to help you with your game, from dribbling to dunking, and trivia it will be a slam dunk for the entire family. Everything from basic skills to high tech activities will keep you entertained all day. The experience is personalized and customizable to you and what activities interest you. You can go back and improve on your skills as much as you like at any of the activities throughout the day.
Once you work up that appetite be sure to swing over to Amorette’s Patisserie on August 12th, 2019 for a special Mickey Mouse Basketball cake that will be available for only a limited time. This treat is a 3-pointer with Salted caramel, chocolate chiffon cake, and baileys.

A collection of grim grinning ghosts have materialized at the Disney Parks, just in time for the Haunted Mansion’s 50th Anniversary. A new collection of Haunted Mansion Wishables has a few of our favorite ghosts to follow you home.
The collection includes an open edition Gus the Prisoner Wishable, and four mystery ghosts that will come in blind bags! Ghosts you’ll find in the blind bags are: Ezra the skeleton, Phineas the traveler, Constance the bride or the Hatbox Ghost! I love the eerie blue color scheme that was used to make them look just like the spectral special effects in the attraction.
The new collection of Haunted Mansion Wishables retails for $9.99, and is available at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World now. No worries if you won’t be making it to the Disney Parks this week, these hauntingly cute plushies will also be available on shopDisney beginning August 14. Lots of spook-tacular finds will be releasing at the Disney Parks this month for the Haunted Mansion’s 50th Anniversary, but these are definitely some of the cutest!

Disney is always coming up with beautiful items for the home, and one of my favorites is always the dishes! We spotted a fabulous new collection of Disney Dishes at the Contemporary Resort this week, and I might already be thinking about redoing my kitchen again.
This is a classic and more elegant collection, with sleek contrasting designs, and delicate hidden Mickeys. There is more than just dishes to find in this collection though, a pillow, throw blanket, and apron also join in on the fun. These are great for entertaining, or even just displaying.
The designs are really delicate, with a sophisticated charm. Even people who aren’t in love with Disney will admire the elegant styles.
Wine glasses and pint glasses with a shower of Mickey Icons around the rim make for classic drinkware pieces.
We can also make sure those gorgeous Mickey glasses don’t leave rings on our table with these coordinating coasters too!
You can also outfit you, and your kitchen Disney with a rustic charm.
Bowls and dessert plates with coordinating designs will round out this set of dishes wonderfully too.
I am personally really loving the cast iron trivet. The intricate scrollwork includes hidden Mickeys and has a rustic, yet elegant look.

Disney+ set to launch soon and with the news this week about adding Disney+ to your current Hulu service for $6.99 or buying the bundle with ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu for $12.99 many people online are stating that this is going to be the Netflix killer.
A report on CNBC states that many of the Disney+ members will be coming from current Netflix subscribers due to a reluctance to add more streaming services.
It is no coincidence that Disney+, ESPN+ and ad-supported Hulu for $12.99 per month is the same price as Netflix’s standard plan.
There are a few things to mention about the Disney+ streaming service that will get people to make the switch from Netflix:
Disney+ will have all of your favorite Marvel, Star Wars & Pixar Movies
Disney already has a HUGE studio to be able to make original content like these new shows that are coming from Marvel Studios alone!
Adding Fox into the mix also adds even more content Disney can add to their library
I for one already have Netflix and Hulu. For me I will just add the Disney+ service and call it a day. I enjoy programming from both services. Honestly, for me, it is still cheaper than cable so I will probably stick with both.

Disney California Adventure Park is known for their fun atmosphere and variety of eats. At the Cozy Cone Motel, guests can experience plenty of seasonal and classic eats in the heart of Cars Land!
With five refreshment cones to choose from, you cannot go wrong. One of our favorite refreshments can be found at Cone #2. At the Ice Cream Cone station, guests can try the signature “Route” Beer Float. This float also comes in a Cars Land-themed souvenir glass. This treat and glass is available for only $9.99. The Route Beer Float is a perfect way to cool off, especially during this week’s National Root Beer Day.
The Cozy Cone Motel also has a great selection of seasonal offerings this summer. Guests can choose a Cotija, Cheese Puffs, or spicy Cheese Puff Cozy Corn. If you’re looking to pack a little more heat, try Red’s Hot Chicken Cone that’s made with Buffalo chicken. Finish with something sweet and try a Sally’s Summer Churro that is topped with strawberry sauce and cream cheese icing. This churro pairs perfectly with our favorite “Route” Beer Float.
After you’re done at the Cozy Cone Motel, head further down Route 66 and show your racing skills on Radiator Springs Racers!

The Tropical Hideaway at the Disneyland Resort is a great hot spot for any hot summer day! Also, the fact that guests don’t have to wait too long for a famous Dole Whip doesn’t hurt either.
This quick service spot is located right next to the Enchanted Tiki Room attraction. With subtle nods to the famed attraction all around the outdoor dining area, guests feel as if they’re in a tropical paradise. Guests also get a perfect view of the Jungle Cruise. It’s the perfect place to beat the heat!
Now, the Tropical Hideaway has added a new tropical flavor to their selection. Guests can now enjoy a Mango Pineapple Dole Whip! This is a fun and delicious twist on the original Pineapple Dole Whip. You can really taste the mango flavor without having to sacrifice the nostalgia of an original. The best part is that this cool treat is only $5.69.
If you want to spice things up a bit, try the Tropical Hideaway’s Chile-Mango Whip. This is part of the hideaway’s Loaded Whips selection. This whip comes with chamoy, mango pieces, and chile-lime seasoning.

Everybody look left. Everybody look right. Everywhere you look Disney… Drops a new Lion King treat. Introducing the Lion Paw Cookie. This sugar cookie is the perfect ratio of cookie to frosting. The brown frosting is actually chocolate and kind of surprised me. And the cookie itself is so cute and very yummy!
The lion paw cookie can unexpectedly be found at ice cream and snack kiosks around the Animal Kingdom. I found mine on the pathway from The Festival of the Lion King to Pandora. The cost for the cookie is $3.50 including tax so a good value considering the price of other cookies around the parks! It’s the perfect treat to pick up for the kids (or yourself) as you are enjoying all the Animal Kingdom has to offer.

Bright suns travelers, today we entered the Black Spire Outpost on Batuu to learn about the economic impact Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is having on Central Florida. During a period of record expansion for the Walt Disney World Resort, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to contribute more than 7,000 jobs to the area. Set to open on August 29th, this amazing new land totals 14 acres and is the largest single-themed land ever created in a Disney park. The planet Batuu is set to provide customized experiences to everyone who visits and with the 1,700 cast members working directly with Galaxy’s Edge the excitement is real.
The 1,700 new jobs created for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge includes operational, performing, leadership, and merchandise roles. These exciting new roles offer Cast Members new opportunities not only in Galaxy’s Edge but throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. The opening team of this unique land was filled with excitement and it continues to build as opening day draws closer. It was amazing to be able to interview Scott Mallwitz, executive creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering, and see the excitement as he spoke.
Maribeth Bisienere, senior Vice President, Walt Disney World Parks, said “The anticipation for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is unlike anything else we’re experiencing at the Walt Disney World Resort. Our Cast Members make our parks uniquely special and we couldn’t create any of the memorable and immersive experiences for our guests without their talents, passion, and dedication.” As part of the opening team the 1,700 Cast Members had a unique opportunity to learn the story of Batuu and got to customize their costumes by hand-selecting apparel and accessories . From their custom name tags to the array of First Order and Resistance themed garments they will become part of the story of Galaxy’s Edge as much as the landscape itself.
Along with the 1,700 internal roles, 5,500 other jobs were created for the building of Galaxy’s Edge. This included Florida based companies contributing local trade, artisan, and construction roles. They were also among the first to visit Batuu during Cast Member previews and the pride on their faces are shown through.
There’s no doubt that the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will continue to help the economy of Central Florida. This highly anticipated land will bring in travelers from all over the world for many years to come. Guests that maybe would have never stepped foot in a Disney park otherwise but the love for Star Wars bringing them in.
I for one can’t wait to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. It’s definitely going to be unlike anything we’ve seen before. The out-of-this-galaxy experience will be one to remember.

After a successful opening night of their “Happiness Begins Tour”, the Jonas Brothers decided to make a stop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to visit Batuu for an exclusive preview of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
Nick, Joe and Kevin enjoyed a day full of fun at a galaxy far far away with their families and friends, and even ran into a few Stormtroopers and other Star Wars characters.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open on August 29th, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.
