Email Scam Targeted at Disney+ Subscribers

Email Scam Targeted at Disney+ Subscribers

Email Scam Targeted at Disney+ Subscribers. In any fairy tale there is always some sort of villain. Whether they be a tricky sea witch, usurping lion, or sometimes it’s not nearly as obvious who the villain is. In this case hundreds of Disney+ Subscribers have fallen victim to a vicious email scam targeted at Disney+ users either asking them to change their password over “security concerns” or stating there is a problem with their credit card information and to input their private and account information.

The emails look VERY convincing and seem to come from Disney+ but they are not. The false emails even try to say the account will be locked until the reported “issue” is fixed. If you do receive an email similar to the one below DO NOT click the link suggesting you change your password or fix your information. If you are truly concerned about your account be sure to report your issue via help.disneyplus.com, not through these emails.

EMAIL EXAMPLE

Email Scam Targeted at Disney+ Subscribers

The news was first shared by Cord Cutters News, and detailed how the information is being stolen.

Basically, once you input your information the hacker is able to gather your personal and/or account information and sell it illegally online. Causing unauthorized profiles appearing on your account or even being completely blocked from your own account after the email and password are changed by the unauthorized user.

Once again, if you DID respond to one of these emails or feel your account has been compromised, immediately change your password via DisneyPlus.com ONLY, or contact their customer service team via help.disneyplus.com

DO NOT respond to these suspicious emails. We hope none of you have had to deal with this issue, I noticed unusual emails started as early as Tuesday, so please stay vigilant and it may not be a bad idea to also change your email password while you are at it! Stay safe out their internet dwellers!

Netflix And Nickelodeon Partner To Create New Content

Netflix And Nickelodeon Partner To Create New Content

Let the streaming battle begin!

It was recently announced that Netflix and Nickelodeon have joined forces in order to create new content like animated feature films and television series for the streaming platform.

This will be an expansion of the already existing library that you can find on Netflix right now like Rocko’s Modern Life and Invader Zim with new specials coming up like The Loud House and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.

“Nickelodeon has generated scores of characters that kids love, and we look forward to telling wholly original stories that re-imagine and expand on the the worlds they inhabit” said Melissa Cob, Netflix Vice President of Original Animation.

This partnership came out right after the launch of Disney+ so there’s no surprise that Netflix is trying to keep their younger audience as well as adults with shows that will bring some nostalgia, after all Nickelodeon also played an important part of peoples childhood.

“Nickelodeon’s next step forward is to keep expanding beyond linear platforms, and our broader content partnership with Netflix is a key path toward that goal” said Brian Robbins, President, Nickelodeon.

Netflix Animation supports the global community of storytellers across all genres, tones and techniques so here are a few titles you might see on the platform soon:

  • Klaus from Sergio Pablos – November 15
  • Dino Girl Gauko from Japan – November 22
  • I Lost My Body from Jeremy Clapin – November 29

New Snacks Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of “The Little Mermaid” at Walt Disney World

Little Mermaid Food

For 30 years, little girls everywhere have dreamed of being part of Ariel’s world, that is the world from ”The Little Mermaid.” Whether it’s dressing up, trying to swim like a mermaid, or visiting their favorite princess at Walt Disney World, they’ve all celebrated her in their own way.

On November 17th, 2019, the official 30th anniversary of this Disney classic, the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort will be releasing special limited-time food offerings for the little mermaid in all of us!

Guests will find these special snacks available at Prince Eric’s Village Market near the ”Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid” ride and the Ariel Meet-and-Greet. There will be two new offerings in Ariel’s honor. One is the Dream Big, Little Mermaid Oyster Cake, a hibiscus-flavored cake with raspberry marmalade, lemon buttercream and an edible pearl. The other choice available is the Dinglehopper Noodles, a pasta salad dressed in an herb vinaigrette, with radishes and chives, and a decorative edible flower on top. Although similar in appearance, these are probably a much better thing to put that dinglehopper in than Ariel’s actual hair!

These delicious memorializations will be available between November 17th and 24th at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Fans of ”The Little Mermaid” will not want to miss the opportunity to celebrate in this fun way! Bonus points for those who show up in mermaid gear, singing ”Under the Sea!”

Content Disclaimer Shown Before Older Movies on Disney+

Disney Puts Content Disclaimer on Older Disney+ Content

Disney has put a content disclaimer on a variety of its older content on Disney+. This disclaimer warns watchers that they might see “outdated cultural depictions” while watching.

After Disney+ launched on Tuesday, users noticed that movies like “Dumbo”, “The Aristocats”, “The Jungle Book”, and the original “Lady and the Tramp” contained a warning at the ends of their beginning descriptions. The disclaimer warned those watching that what they are about to see may contain racial stereotypes and “outdated cultural depictions”.

“Dumbo” has been largely criticized in past years for depicting two crows (played by a white actor) that speak in stereotypical African-American voices.

“The Jungle Book” has encountered the same issue with a group of monkeys being portrayed with negative and outdated African-American traits.

The “We Are Siamese” song and scene from “Lady and the Tramp” was deemed so offensive that Disney took it out of the newly released, live-action version of the film.

Have you noticed this content disclaimer on any other films?

MagicBand Slap Bracelets Have Arrived At The Disney Parks

MagicBand Slap Bracelets

MagicBand Slap Bracelets Have Arrived At The Disney Parks

The MagicBand Slap Bracelets have been popping up at the Disney Parks! These are a fun new way to wear your MagicBand, that also bring back 90s nostalgia. We found a few in our travels around the parks, but there are still other designs out there too.

MagicBand Slap Bracelets Have Arrived At The Disney Parks

We found Stitch, Mickey, and Olaf themed bracelets, right in the same section as the rest of the MagicBands. They retail for different prices depending on the character, but range about $24.99 to $29.99. The Olaf band was the higher price point of this collection, and that is probably because it is limited edition. I think I shall lovingly nickname these guys “Slap Bands”, what do we think, fitting?

MagicBand Slap Bracelets Have Arrived At The Disney Parks

The Olaf one is probably my favorite, mostly because of all the sparkle! There are even little rhinestones at the points on the snowflake!

MagicBand Slap Bracelets Have Arrived At The Disney Parks

The designs on these bands are actually raised rubber, so there is a lot of dimension to the artwork. The sliders also come off the bands, so you can mix, match, and create your own look! I personally hope we see solid colors in the future, for even more mix and match option.

MagicBand Slap Bracelets Have Arrived At The Disney Parks

Unlike the slap bracelets of the 90s, these are coated in a soft rubbery material! This will make them a lot more comfortable to wear.

You can find these fun new Magicband Slap Bracelets, or Slap Bands, throughout the Walt Disney World Resort where MagicBands are sold! Will you be slapping one of these whimsical new slap bands on your wrist for your next Disney vacation? These will also be available online at shopDisney beginning December 2nd!

Special thanks to Melissa for the enchanting photos!

Disney Parks, Experiences and Products and nonprofit organization, Points of Light, will host “Family Volunteer Day” activities on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort. The event will celebrate the power of volunteerism and encourage families to volunteer in their communities in Central Florida or back home.

The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with an inspiring ceremony hosted by Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. Honored guests will include the Aguirre family of McAllen, Texas, who were recently named the first-ever Disney and Points of Light Volunteer Family of the Year following a nationwide search conducted on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Following the ceremony, Disney Springs guests can participate in hands-on, family-service activities from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Marketplace at Disney Springs. Guests who participate in these activities will receive discounts or special offers at select Disney Springs retail and dining locations on Nov. 23.

Disney is a long-time sponsor of “Family Volunteer Day,” an annual day of service that takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Disney and Points of Light have inspired more than three million hours of service through the Disney Family Volunteering Reward Program, which rewards eligible U.S. nonprofits and schools with Disney theme park tickets for hosting family-friendly volunteer projects.

Since the program launched in January 2018, nearly 700,000 people have volunteered, representing more than 8,500 nonprofits and schools. Of these, more than 1,700 organizations were introduced to family volunteerism because of the program.
