Mickey Dome Cake Heats Things Up At Magic Kingdom

Over at Magic Kingdom’s Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn, I happened upon a hidden gem, the Mickey Mouse Mini Dome Cake. It is described as a flourless chocolate cake, with a spicy chocolate mousse, centered with a creme brûlée filling, and covered in chocolate ganache. It also has chocolate Mickey-shaped ears and a white chocolate piece with an image of classic Mickey on it.

This decadent sweet treat costs $6.99 plus tax. It would be a good use of a snack credit on the dining plan. Let me just say, it is so worth it. While most people go to Pecos Bill for their toppings bar, I was on a mission for a gluten-free sweet treat, and this Mickey dome cake did not disappoint.

Let’s break this down layer by layer. The ganache was rich and smooth. Absolutely delicious. The spicy element you find in the chocolate mousse. It’s not really that spicy if you are afraid of heat, but boy does it add a delightful little punch to the mousse. The cayenne pepper mixed with the chocolate was such a welcomed cross of flavors. It was my favorite part. The creme brûlée was just the creamy center this very chocolaty treat needed to help balance the flavors. The flourless chocolate cake was a tasty thin layer at the bottom. I do wish there was a better ratio of cake to mousse. The chocolate pieces added a nice little crunch.

Overall, I would get it again in a heartbeat. It’s one of my new favorites. If you have to eat a gluten-free diet, this is a must have treat. It’s one of those dessert that do not taste gluten free. Also don’t knock it just because it’s labeled ”flourless” it doesn’t need it to be delicious. I savored every bite!

The “Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps” Tour adds extra magic to your visit and gives you a closer look at how Disneyland park came to be. Prepare yourself for a magical journey as you learn how Walt Disney wove his personal history into the development of Disneyland Park.

On the ‘Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps’ Tour, you will hear stories about what inspired Walt, the challenges he faced, and the excitement he encountered while designing The Happiest Place on Earth. Along the way, you will get to see part of the theme park unavailable to most guests, or “behind the scenes”. You’ll also learn special information about classic attractions (and even experience those attractions) and hear historical fun facts through your tour headset, which plays archived recordings.

The Walk in Walt’s Disneyland Footsteps Tour adds extra magic to your Disneyland visit and you even get a collectible pin and personalized button to take home! Other information you’ll want to know about the tour is:

The tour is approximately three hours long.

New “Awesome Planet” Sign is Up in the Land Pavilion in Epcot

A new cinematic experience is coming to the Land Pavilion in Epcot soon! “Awesome Planet” is an on-screen exploration of the realm we call home by showcasing the spectacular beauty, diversity and dynamic story of our earth with all the grandeur guests have come to expect.

The film will feature spectacular nature photography, immersed in-theater effects, and space sequences created by none other than Industrial Light & Magic (which provided the cinematic foundation for the Star Wars franchise), delivering an environmental message that will resonate far beyond its final scenes.

The new film “Awesome Planet” is just one of the many transformations coming to Epcot in the near future. “Awesome Planet” joins the new Circle-Vision film slated for the China pavilion, the updated film at the Canada pavilion, and the new “Beauty and the Beast” Sing-Along heading to France.

“Beauty and the Beast” Sing-Along will rotate with “Impressions de France,” which retains its place in Guinness World Records as the longest-running daily screened film in the world.

Alright Starbucks lovers, we are coming at you with a new concoction for you to try! While there is no official drink, a fellow Starbucks lover has created a new Baby Yoda drink that might delight your senses.

Everyone has jumped on the Baby Yoda bandwagon and how could you not! He is so incredibly cute he instantly pulls at your heartstrings! Right now the entire world is wanting everything Baby Yoda!

Recently Disney has released a few bits of merchandise but if you are like us, we weren’t fully satisfied. Instead, we are getting our child fix by ordering this one of a kind Baby Yoda drink. Although mine didn’t come with the caramel dripped down the side and the barista put the caramel brûlée on the wrong drink, it actually tasted pretty darn good! I would get it again! P.S. we know that is not Baby Yoda in the pictures, we worked with what we had!

Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood Studios Is the Merriest Dining For The Season

It’s officially the Christmas season! While Disney has been gearing up since November 1st it’s finally official. We’ve been able to share some amazing holiday happenings around the Walt Disney World Resort and we are excited to share another new favorite. Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood Studios is a perfect way to get into the Holiday spirit.

This is an incredibly fun character buffet that’s located at Hollywood and Vine and is special just for the season. Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy are all there in their holiday best. This one needs a reservation because it gets quite busy. The holiday dine is both lunch and dinner and runs to the beginning of January.

This is a buffet as most character meals around the resort are. For this seasonal meal they have some traditional holiday offerings such as turkey, roast, green bean casserole and more. They also have a spot just for kids with chicken, tots, and mac and cheese.

Our first character to come around was Donald. This will probably rotate depending on where characters are when you are seated. They will all come right to your table. To meet all of them it takes roughly about an hour. That’s an estimate depending on how busy the restaurant is that day. We went on Black Friday and though the restaurant was packed everyone was very friendly and it still took the hour to see them all.

Mickey came shortly after Donald. We had a decent wait before Donald came which gave us time to hit the buffet and then the characters started coming pretty quickly after that. Daisy was almost right after Mickey. And then there was a nice gap to Minnie which allowed us to grab some yummy desserts. Goofy is the only character that doesn’t come to the table. They give you a card and you can meet him on your way out. He has a super fun backdrop and there’s a photopass photographer there.

The dessert was also themed towards the holidays. My absolute favorite was the eggnog cheesecake. It was so delicious I can’t get over it. They have a few options and then ice cream and chocolate chip cookies as well.

This was such a fun dining experience. It was such a great way to meet the characters in their holiday best and have some amazing food. This buffet is $54 per adults and $32 per guest ages 3-9. This is eligible for the dining plan. It’s a table service credit per person in your party. You can make dining reservations on your My Disney Experience app. This was so much fun and the kids and adults all loved it. It’s also such an amazing way to kick off the holidays while visiting Walt Disney World.

‘The Mandalorian’ Star Gina Carano Visits Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland

As everyone already knows, a new episode of The Mandalorian was added to Disney+ yesterday, Nov. 29, and a new character has entered into the picture.

Cara Dune, played by actress Gina Carano, is an “ex-rebel shock trooper” and has some pretty epic fighting skills. According to Disney Parks Blog, she even has a background as an MMA fighter- which is no shock when watching her intense scenes.

To celebrate her character’s addition to the series, Carano recently visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at California’s Disneyland Resort.

It’s no surprise that the actress wanted to check out Galaxy’s Edge for herself! There is plenty to see if you would like The Mandalorian to go beyond your T.V. At Launch Bay you can browse exclusive merchandise or even get a look at the props used for filming, some of which I’m sure Carano recognized.

So whether you would like to enjoy watching the new episode of The Mandalorian from the comfort of your own home, or go out and explore Galaxy’s Edge just like Carano, you’re sure to see some of your favorite characters.

Dying Fan Granted Early Star Wars Screening by Bob Iger!

In the United Kingdom, a dying fan and his family have been granted an early Star Wars screening before general release, granted by Disney’s CEO Bob Iger. The wish was granted following a plea on Twitter asking for an advanced screening of the movie, due to be released on the 20th December.

Rowans Hospice in Waterlooville, Hampshire, sent out a plea on Twitter, saying “this is our most desperate hour. Sadly, time is not on his side for 20th Dec.”. The tweet which was posted on Wednesday attracted a lot of attention, with many retweeting and replying. Mark Hamil himself also showed support by wishing the hospice “good luck” with the plea. Afterwhich, Bob Iger replied with “we will certainly try”.

On Thursday, Bob Iger tweeted “on this Thanksgiving, we at @Disney are grateful to be able to share #TheRiseOfSkywalker with a patient and his family @RowansHospice. May the force be with you and with us all!”. The Hospice was in absolute shock for Disney allowing the dying fan an early Star Wars screening, including Lisa Davies, a healthcare support worker who was “utterly speechless” at the news. She said that “we totally appreciate that Disney has had to move mountains to make this happen,” she said. She also mentioned the overwhelming response received following the original tweet including the Star Wars community. She expressed her gratitude and thanked everyone for not only covering the story but for respecting the patient and his family’s privacy.

Tom Hiddleston Reacts To His Original ‘Thor‘ Audition Video. It goes without saying that everyone has things they prefer to forget. Recently, Tom Hiddleston (Loki) appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about his current role on Broadway in Betrayal, and Jimmy couldn’t help but try to get Hiddleston to talk about his new show coming to Disney+, Loki.

As all Marvel Stars do, Tom was very tight lipped about the series and only shared that production is set to begin in 2020. He might have been tempted to share more if he knew what his friends at Marvel Studios had planned. Apparently, Jimmy’s team had some friends at Marvel Studios who provided them with the previously unaired audition video of Tom’s original audition for the role of Thor in Thor.

Immediately Tom covers his face with his hands in embarrassment but goes along with the “gotcha” moment and watches the video with the audience who were surprisingly support of the versatile actor. You can watch the full segment here to see Tom’s full reaction and the hilarious audition tape:

Tom Hiddleston thanked the audience for the support, but was very eager to move on from the moment, which is clearly one he had hoped to forget. Hiddleston is set to return as The God of Mischief in an all new Marvel Series, Loki, exclusively on Disney+. Not much is known about the series other than it will answer “Where did Loki go in Avengers: Endgame?” and will take place in an altered timeline from the MCU.

Recently, James Corden invited the cast of “Frozen II” to the intersection of Beverly Blvd. and Genesee Av. in Los Angeles for a special live performance of their hit film in Frozen: Crosswalk the Musical for a segment in The Late Late Show with James Corden.

“After an epic showdown between James Corden and Idina Menzel for the iconic role of Elsa, a costume she’s never actually worn, the cast comes together to put together a production that will definitely change the landscape of animated feature films.”
