Chris Hemsworth Wants To Keep His Role As ‘Thor’ Forever. Or as long as Marvel Studios wants him in the role. WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD for Avengers: Endgame! You have been warned!
Hemsworth has loved his time as the god of thunder and wants to play Thor for as long as possible. Here is what he had to say during an interview on This Morning:
I’d play this character for as long as anyone would let me,” Hemsworth said. “I’ve loved it so much. But the combination of this many characters in this Phase Three, as Marvel calls it, you’ll never have this interaction with this many people again. Who knows what the future holds and whether they do prequels and sequels or whatever, I’d be open to anything. But right now, this is where we finish up.”
We love this 3000!
Again, here is a SPOILER WARNING for those who have not yet seen the record breaking Avengers: Endgame film!
For those who have seen Avengers: Endgame we get to see an all new…side… of Thor that we have yet to see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. [Insert Dad-Bod jokes here] Without giving too much away, we also know Thor survives the events of Avengers: Endgame and goes off on adventures with what remains of the Guardians of the Galaxy. So what does this mean for the character? We are sure to see Thor again, hopefully in the upcoming Guardians of the galaxy Vol 3 film!
I am all for Thor joining the “Asguardians of the Galaxy” as he puts it so eloquently, and think the new addition brings some friendly competition between characters and new life to the group. It’s also exciting to hear that Hemsworth wants to keep the role for as long as he can, since it’s hard to imagine anyone else remotely filling that role, especially after nearly 10 films showcasing Hemsworth as Thor.
Another SPOILER ALERT here: This comes as a relief to a lot of fans that an original Avenger plans to stick around for a while, especially after the announcements that Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and rumored still Mark Ruffalo, plan to step away from Marvel for now in their respective roles or really only have considered returning for small scenes/cameos.
Are you glad to hear Chris Hemsworth loves playing Thor so much that he wants to stick around with Marvel Studios for as long as possible? Let us know in the comments! But please be careful not to include spoilers in the comments! Thank you!
