Mardi Gras at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras Parade

Mardi Gras at Walt Disney World!

Yesterday, we went to Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort to see their Mardi Gras celebration. It’s a hidden gem for families seeking New Orleans entertainment with a Disney twist.

Mardi Gras at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

First, Disney held a Mardi Gras Pargo Parade with decorative golf carts for resort guests and visitors. This year’s theme was “Blast From Magic Past” and featured tributes to former Walt Disney World attractions.

The parade started with jazz performers leading the golf carts. Each float was made to represent iconic attractions from Disney Parks history.

The Cast Members in the parade handed out beads and candy. It’s great to see the Cast Members having fun while interacting with guests.

The float dedicated to the Spectacle of Dancing Lights was a unique one! They played Christmas music while blowing soapy “snow” from the top of this float.

Guests enjoyed seeing throwbacks to Toon Town and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. We even saw tributes to retired Disney parades and fireworks shows.

We returned at night to discover more festivities! The resort had music playing and two special guests from The Princess and the Frog. Both Dr. Facilier and Louis took turns meeting guests in the resort lobby. These characters rarely see guests for meet and greet opportunities these days. So it was a special treat to see them there!

New Lavender And Mickey Balloon Spirit Jerseys At The Disney Parks

Lavender And Mickey Balloon Spirit Jerseys

Lavender And Mickey Balloon Spirit Jerseys

While we have been seeing lots of exciting new Minnie ears recently, there are also some new Spirit Jerseys to check out too! New Lavender and Mickey Balloon Spirit Jerseys have arrived at the Disney Parks! Both are absolutely stunning too.

Mickey Balloons

Lavender And Mickey Balloon Spirit Jerseys

As we all know, I am pretty obsessed with Mickey Balloon everything. The Mickey Balloon Minnie Ears recently debuted, and now we have a Spirit Jersey with Mickey Balloons! This jersey is a crisp white, with colorful balloons printed all over the bottom yoke. I like that they went with the white, because it really helps the colors pop. The name of the Disney Park is also written across the back in hot pink puffed ink.

The front continues the same whimsical balloon print, with the matching park logo on the chest. Currently the balloon jersey is only available in Disneyland. However it should be arrived at Walt Disney World soon too. This jersey also has me hoping they eventually release the Balloon ears in different colors too.

Lavender

The second new Spirit Jersey, is the lavender jersey! This is a fantastic pastel purple, that is perfect for spring! The Park name is written across the back in a matte puffed ink in a light lavender color. Chunky sparkles are also mixed into the puffed ink for a nice shimmer too.

The front also has a matching logo in the same fun puffed ink with sparkles. This Spirit Jersey is actually available at both Disneyland, and Walt Disney World already. I am absolutely loving this color, and I really hope we see Minnie ears and other accessories to match in the future. Luckily there are already several Loungefly bags, and other Minnie ears like the Ariel ones that match it.

What do you think of the new Lavender And Mickey Balloon Spirit Jerseys now available at the Disney Parks?

New Mochi Dessert at the Tropical Hideaway

New Mochi Dessert at the Tropical Hideaway

Disneyland‘s Tropical Hideaway quick service restaurant is known for mixing up unique flavors. When it comes to everything like their dole whips and different bao, guests are sure to find something for every taste bud. Now the Tropical Hideaway is serving up a familiar favorite flavor combo, with a bit of a twist.

New Mochi Dessert at the Tropical Hideaway

Introducing the brand new PB & J Mochi dessert! The serving comes with 3 mochi that are dusted with peanut butter dust and then drizzled with raspberry sauce. This was a fun snack that we think children and adults can share together. It wasn’t too sweet and the peanut butter added the right amount of richness.

The Tropical Hideaway is no stranger to fun flavor combinations. Guests have the option to swirl 3 different flavors with their original final pineapple dole whip. Turn your whip into a float and you have a perfect pairing with your new PB & J Mochi Dessert!

We can’t wait for you to try this twist on a traditional snack! If Rosita approves, then so do we! Once you have tried the new mochi, let us know what you think in the comments below!

New Fruity and Decadent Eats at the Mint Julep Bar

New Fruity and Decadent Eats at the Mint Julep Bar

Disneyland‘s Mint Julep Bar is known for their signature namesake beverage. However, we think it’s the ratio of beignets to Mint Juleps that really make this snack truly epic. This February, the Mint Julep Bar introduced not one, but two new seasonal items. They are so good that we have to share them with you!

New Fruity and Decadent Eats at the Mint Julep Bar

During this year’s Sweethearts Nite at the Disneyland resort, the Mint Julep Bar debuted 2 sweet items! Now, all guests get to enjoy these sweet treats during regular park operating hours. First up, the new seasonal beignet is a Chocolate-Strawberry Beignet. These are so delicious! So much so, that we were a bit disappointed that we only got a 3-pack. The flavors of chocolate and strawberry are well balanced and don’t overpower each other, which made us appreciate this treat so much more.

New Fruity and Decadent Eats at the Mint Julep Bar

The Strawberry Julep was the perfect refreshment after those decadent beignets. This beverage was incredibly refreshing. The fruity flavor and mint worked so well together. This is definitely one of our favorite renditions of a traditional favorite. We thought it was going to be similar to the Watermelon Julep that was around during last summer. However, I think it’s safe to say this the Strawberry Julep is our new favorite.

Whether you’re with your sweetheart or in need of a great snack, the Chocolate-Strawberry Beignets and the Strawberry Julep are perfect and delicious! We highly recommend this epic duo!
