THE PROUD FAMILY: LOUDER AND PROUDER (Disney+)

‘The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder’ Is Coming Soon to Disney+ with Original Cast! Disney+ has ordered the long-anticipated revival of the groundbreaking animated series “The Proud Family” which, 18 years after its Disney Channel premiere, is still beloved for its characters, stories and multilayered humor and for its messages about inclusion and cultural diversity in a smart, modern way. The new animated family sitcom “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” is currently in production at Disney Television Animation with Academy Award-winning creator/executive producer Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar, who led the original series, at the helm, reuniting them with Calvin Brown, Jr. who is co-executive producer and story editor.

Picking up the story of its central character Penny Proud, the new series will also include her madcap family: parents Oscar and Trudy, twin siblings BeBe and CeCe, and her grandmother Suga Mama (and Puff!). Of course, it would not be “The Proud Family” without Penny’s loyal crew Dijonay Jones, LaCienega Boulevardez and Zoey Howzer, among others. Disney+ and Disney Television Animation also released concept art featuring the main characters from the upcoming series. All previous seasons of “The Proud Family” are currently available on Disney+.

In a joint statement, Smith and Farquhar said, “In our minds, the show never really went away, as we still had tons of stories left to tell. It’s the perfect time to bring back this show, and we can’t wait to take fans, old and new alike, on this journey with us.”

Reprising their voice roles are: Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud, Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Jo Marie Payton as Suga Mama, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer and Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez. Cedric the Entertainer will also return as Uncle Bobby Proud.

“The show’s humor and relatable stories are as relevant with audiences today as ever,” said Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, Disney+. “Our audiences have loved rediscovering their favorite episodes of ‘The Proud Family,’ and we’re excited Bruce, Ralph, Calvin, and the returning cast are creating new stories for their new home on Disney+.”

Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, said, “The genius of the original ‘Proud Family’ series was that, under the guise of a family comedy, it provided a brilliant social commentary on our life and times.  With this new series, Bruce and Ralph will once again challenge everyone to think differently about the world we share.”

Disney World asks some Cast Members to stay home over Coronavirus fears

Disney World

Disney World

Recently Disney World has asked some Cast Members to stay home after traveling outside of the country over Coronavirus fears according to WESH.  A few Disney World workers who recently went on a trip to Italy were asked to stay at home due to coronavirus concerns.

There are no confirmed cases of coronavirus nor has anyone shown symptoms, the workers were asked as a precaution.

Fear has been growing over the number of coronavirus cases that have been popping up. You might remember last month when Disney shut down both Hong Kong and Shanghai Disneyland. Even Tokyo Disneyland has instituted precautions to prevent the spread of the virus:

Here is the post on the Tokyo Disneyland website:

Tokyo Disney Resort requests the cooperation of all our Guests in helping to prevent contagion and stop the spread of the new coronavirus by following the points below.

▪ Guests feeling unwell due to possible cold symptoms are requested to refrain from visiting the Parks.
▪ When using the restrooms in the Parks, please wash your hands and use the supplied hand sanitizer.
▪ If you feel unwell or your physical condition worsens while inside the Park, please contact the nearest Cast Member.

Starting January 28 Cast Members will be wearing face masks.

New Onward Happy Meal Toys Ready For Adventure At McDonald’s

Onward Happy Meal Toys

New Onward Happy Meal Toys Ready For Adventure At McDonald's

An epic new quest has begun at McDonald’s! New Onward Happy Meal toys have arrived just in time for the new Pixar film. There are nine legendary toys to collect, plus there is even themed packaging for the milk, apple slices, and Gogurts!

New Onward Happy Meal Toys Ready For Adventure At McDonald's

Onward is an urban fantasy film set in a fantastical world, where the populace once had magic. Two teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot, receive a wizard’s staff as a gift from their father, with a spell that will bring him back for only 24 hours! Of course things don’t go as planned, and that is when the adventure begins!

New Onward Happy Meal Toys Ready For Adventure At McDonald's

Each of the toys are inspired by different characters, or elements in the film. The toys also have their own movable mechanisms as well. Be sure to stop by McDonald’s over the next couple weeks if you’re looking to collect these fun new toys!

The Disney partnership with Happy Meal toys keeps continuing and we are loving it! So far we have seen toys from Star Wars, Lion King, Frozen, Toy Story, Avengers, and more! Other big upcoming family films this year include Mulan, Soul, Jungle Book, and Raya the Last Dragon, I wonder if we will see Happy Meal toys for any of them?

Will you be collecting the new Onward Happy Meal Toys from McDonald’s?

Steven Spielberg Steps Down As Director of ‘Indiana Jones 5’

Steven Spielberg Steps Down As Director of ‘Indiana Jones 5‘. According to Variety, famed Director, Steven Spielberg, has stepped down as director of Indiana Jones 5. The film seems to be plagued with delays. Some due to scheduling conflicts, a complete rewrite ordered for the script, and countless pushbacks by the studio as they look to complete other titles currently in the works.

With his busy schedule, it’s no wonder Spielberg will be taking a step back from directing, but never fear, he will not be completely separating from the project. Instead, Spielberg will remain on board as a “hands-on” executive producer.

So who will be filling the big shoes left by Steven Spielberg? Rumor has it, Disney has approached Ford v. Ferrari and Logan Director James Mangold is set to fill the position.

No matter who steps up to the plate, we are so excited to see Indy again on the big screen. Harrison Ford is still tied to the project and will reprise his role as Indiana Jones. We are not aware of any other returning cast members from any of the previous Indiana Jones films.

Be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for all things Lucasfilm!
