Beatrix Orlando has suffered from rumors of being canceled before construction could even start recently. Just In the past month, the death of Beatrix was in the news again. Looks like these were just rumors again. Now we have the word of permits being filed for construction to begin.
The permits filed were approved on April 19, 2021, with the Orange County Comptroller. With the address being 1498 Buena Vista Drive, Lake Buena Vista, FL for a Full-service restaurant consisting of approx.18,500sf indoor & outdoor seating.
Beatrix updated their website with the following statement last year.

Beatrix Orlando is your neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse, and grab-and-go market. Featuring healthy food options including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan along with fresh-squeezed juice cocktails.
Beatrix will open its fifth location in Disney Springs® at Walt Disney World Resort® in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. This is a Chicago-based Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ first restaurant to open in Florida and is Beatrix’s first location outside of Illinois. The concept was created by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner, and Divisional President Marc Jacobs, and Chef Partners John Chiakulas, Rita Dever, and Susan Weaver.
Beatrix is going to be located next to Jaleo, and across from Splitsville and the AMC 24 on the West Side of Disney Springs.

The Walt Disney Company today announced the launch of the Ultimate Princess Celebration, a yearlong event spotlighting the courage and kindness these Disney heroines inspire in fans all around the world. From Cinderella’s generosity and Belle’s ingenuity to Mulan’s selflessness and Moana’s adventurous spirit, Disney is honoring these strong women through music, experiences, products, and a campaign to give back to children around the country.
To kick off the Celebration, global superstar and Grammy® Award-winning recording artist Brandy, who starred as the beloved princess in The Wonderful World of Disney,Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, has recorded a new original song called “Starting Now.” The “Starting Now” single, produced by Grammy® Award nominee Oak Felder and written by Jason Mater, Jordan Powers, and Darren Criss, will be released by Walt Disney Records on May 21 along with a lyric video. Fans can listen to their favorite Disney Princess songs now on a curated playlist from Walt Disney Records.
Brandy will also debut a music video for “Starting Now,” the celebration’s anthem, which will be featured in Disney Princess Remixed – An Ultimate Princess Celebration, a music special premiering this August on Disney Channel. Collaboration with Starlight Children’s Foundation

Disney Princess Moana Lokai
$1 for each Disney Princess Lokai sold will be donated to Make-A-Wish. Characters include Belle, Mulan, Jasmine, and Moana. These bracelets are available for $22 at Lokai.com.
At the time there were only 2 Disney Stores in Canada set to close, however according to Retail Insider we are finding out that more Disney Store closures are on the way.
According to the report all 18 locations in Canada will be closing this year.
Using the Store Locator on the ShopDisney website we looked up many of the Canadian Disney Store locations, none of them were listed to close at this time, the article on Retail Insider lists that these stores are expected to close by the end of Summer sometime around August 1st.
When the initial announcement was released Disney issued this statement on the upcoming closures:
Over the next year Disney will focus on providing a more seamless, personalized and franchise-focused ecommerce experience through its shopDisney platform which will be complemented by greater integration with Disney Parks apps and social media platforms. This will be coupled with an assortment of new and elevated merchandise from the Company’s full range of brands, including adult apparel collections and artist collaborations, trend-forward streetwear, premium home products and collectibles.
“While consumer behavior has shifted toward online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer,” said Stephanie Young, president, Consumer Products Games and Publishing. “Over the past few years, we’ve been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world. We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected e-commerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises.”
Disney will remain flexible in its approach and continue to evolve its retail strategy to best meet the needs of consumers when and where they want. Guests will continue to have access to Disney shopping experiences in 600+ Disney Parks stores, shop-in-shops, lifestyle and outlet locations, as well as third-party retailers around the world.

Beverly Sunset Boutique has a reopening date finally. Originally closed when Walt Disney World resorts shut down due to the pandemic last year, it had never reopened. Beverly Sunset Boutique is now set to reopen on May 5th. The hours for the shop show it open from 9:00 am till 8:00 pm.
Sunset Boutique opened when Toy Story Land premiered back in 2018, and sells Disney Pixar merchandise.
Shop located in Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Shop from a show-stopping selection of Pixar merchandise and pre-packaged, tasty treats inside this whimsical “theater.”
It appears things are starting to pick up at Walt Disney World resort. This is just another opening that we have reported on recently. Disney’s Boardwalk inn is reopening soon. Tomorrowland Transit Peoplemover started to operate last weekend. Disney is also bringing Cast members back that had previously been laid off, plus they are now hiring new cast members to fill some vacant spots.
Walt Disney World has not hosted seasonal holiday party events since before the pandemic closure. Many guests are wondering if the Halloween and Christmas parties will return this year. Well, Disney may already be planning for those parties and we might be ok to get our hopes up!
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are both insanely popular events. Tickets sell out months in advance for these seasonal parties!
Dance the Magic, a group that organizes parade appearances for dance groups is now booking a “Spook-tastic Halloween Parade” package for October dates this year. The package lists Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party as an event included in the package. Dancers would get to attend the Halloween party the night before performing in a parade on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom.
That’s not all! The company is also booking an “Elite Holiday Spectacular” package for dates in December. The package does not mention Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party but it could indicate that Disney is planning for some holiday festivities this year!
This is all speculation at this point as Disney has not made any official announcement regarding the 2021 seasonal parties. We are optimistic that Disney has some special holiday plans in the works and we can’t wait to find out more! Stay tuned to Chip&Co for all things Walt Disney World.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway was originally supposed to open at the Disneyland Resort in 2022. With the pandemic closure, that date got pushed back but we now know the ride will be opening sometime in 2023!
This first major Mickey-themed ride-through attraction at Disneyland park will put you inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short where anything can happen! Once you step into the cartoon world of Mickey and Minnie, you’ll board a train with Goofy as the engineer. Then, one magical moment after the next leads you to a zany, out-of-control adventure filled with surprising twists and turns.
The attraction is being housed in a large building behind Mickey and Minnie’s homes in Toontown. The ride also uses state-of-the-art technologies and dazzling visual effects to transform the cartoon world into an incredible and immersive multi-dimensional experience.
Guests have loved the sister attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World and they are sure to love this one as well! We can’t wait for the Disneyland location to open!
Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are reopening this Friday and we can’t wait! Here are some tips to prepare for your next visit to the Disneyland Resort.
Make sure you have your ticket AND theme park reservation confirmation
Remember that all guests ages 3 and up will need both a valid ticket and theme park reservation for the same day and same park they want to visit, in order to be admitted into the theme parks. Theme park reservations have to be made in advance, and they’re limited and subject to availability. If you do not have an applicable theme park reservation confirmation, you will not be granted access to the theme parks.
Also, be sure you have proof of California residency with you as only California residents may visit the parks at this time. You may be asked to show such proof of residency, as necessary.

Link your tickets, mobile order food and beverages at select locations, view attraction wait times, park maps, and hours of operation, make dining reservations in advance, and so much more. These features also help with a more contactless experience!
Also, be sure to have location services and notifications enabled for important updates and information about the Disneyland Resort.
If you’re starting your day at Disneyland park, access the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance virtual queue from wherever you are, beginning at 7 a.m.
Disneyland will continue using a virtual queue system for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The attraction’s virtual queue is only accessible via the Disneyland mobile app, and you can only experience the attraction by joining the virtual queue. Beginning April 30, the distribution times for the virtual queue enrollment will be at 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. daily.
Guests with a valid ticket and theme park reservation who will start their day at Disneyland park will be able to access the virtual queue system with the mobile app and check for an available boarding group starting at 7 a.m. on the day of their park reservation. This can be done before you leave your hotel, home, or wherever else you may be at that time! Guests will need to have their park tickets linked to their Disney account.
If you don’t begin your day at Disneyland park, you may still be able to access the virtual queue opportunity beginning at 12 p.m. Guests who have a valid ticket and park reservation, and have entered Disney California Adventure park with a Park Hopper ticket by noon, may access the virtual queue system to check for available boarding groups beginning at 12 p.m. Such guests who obtain a boarding group may then enter Disneyland park with their Park Hopper ticket after 1 p.m. for their boarding group, subject to availability.
Hotel guests may use online check-in service in advance
If you’re staying at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, the new pre-arrival online check-in service feature (available up to five days in advance of arrival) saves time and is one more way to promote physical distancing. You can opt-in to receive a text message to let you know when your room is ready on arrival day, and your keys are available for pick-up at the Front Desk.
When You Arrive
Park at Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals parking structures
When you arrive at the toll booths for Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals parking structures, you will be asked if you have tickets and a theme park reservation. Because you will already have a theme park reservation, there’s no need to rush or get here early. But do allow time for a leisurely stroll along the pedestrian bridge from the parking structures, as the tram will not be operating. For your convenience, stroller, wheelchair and ECV rentals will be available at the parking structures.
To help with physical distancing requirements, Disney does not encourage early arrivals, and line ups will not be allowed prior to 6 a.m. on opening weekend, when the parking structures and security screenings will open. Note that state guidelines prohibit eating or drinking while waiting in line, so please finish your coffee in the car first.
Downtown Disney District will be open at 10 a.m. on April 30 and at 9 a.m., May 1 and beyond. The shopping and dining promenade will remain open after the theme parks close, so it’s a great place to explore before, during or after your day at the parks. Downtown Disney District parking is located in the Simba Lot, which will change to payment upon exit beginning April 30, and hourly prices with validation returns.
Remember your face covering
And as a friendly reminder, appropriate face coverings are required for all guests ages 2 and older throughout the resort.
During Your Visit
Reminder – Park Hopper ticket benefits begin at 1 p.m.
If you have a Park Hopper ticket and an appropriate park reservation, you may visit the second park on the same day anytime after 1 p.m.
Plan ahead and use the mobile ordering service to order food and beverages
Disney’s mobile order service is the primary way to order food and beverages at many dining locations throughout the Disneyland Resort. More locations are being added and existing locations are expanding mobile order lanes and pick-up windows. Food and beverages can only be consumed in dedicated dining areas, following the state’s health and safety guidelines.
Tip! Place your order early in the day to make sure your meal is prepared at your preferred dining time. When you arrive at the restaurant location, tap “I’m here,” in the mobile app and head to the pick-up area. The number of available times at each food and beverage location is limited to ensure guests are able to dine efficiently, so be sure to check the many dining choices throughout the parks!
Use cashless transactions for a contactless payment experience
Disney now has more contactless ways to pay throughout your day, including Apple Pay and Disney Gift Cards.

See Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters on the She-Hulk Set. Marvel fans were excited to hear that She-Hulk is currently filming for Disney+, and now we have a first look at Tatiana Maslany in her new role!
According to ComicBook.com, “She-Hulk is going to follow Jennifer Walters, who is the cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. Jennifer, a lawyer, gets a blood transfusion from Bruce, which ultimately gives her similar powers. Unlike most versions of the Hulk, however, Jennifer remains intelligent and in control when she hulks out.”
Instagram user, @atlanta_filming shared the first look photo of Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters along with the caption, “[She-Hulk] in a sweater. There. Happy? Smiley, happy Shehulk (Tatiana Maslani) in a tennis-ball yellow UCLA sweater… about to kick some ass! Or be a traffic cone. Seriously, that sweater is electric yellow and I have never seen such a gigantic smile on a person.”
The She-Hulk series will star Tatiana Maslany (Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk), Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky/Abomination), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Amelia), Ginger Gonzalez (unspecified), and reportedly The Hulk himself, Mark Ruffalo. It is currently unknown if Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk/Bruce Banner will merely appear in a cameo style role, reoccurring role, or as a main character in the She-Hulk series. It is also unknown if the series will follow the same storylines as the comics for Jennifer/She-Hulk’s origin story.
Justin Simien to Direct Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion‘ Live-Action Reboot. Dear White People Director Justin Simien has been tapped to direct the live-action reboot for Disney’s Haunted Mansion.
The original film follows the story of workaholic real estate agent Jim Evers, who is accused by his wife and co-realtor, Sara, of neglecting his son (Michael) and daughter (Megan), so he takes the family on a vacation. Along the way, the family stops off at a sinister mansion that the Evers have been asked to sell, only to discover it is haunted by Master Gracey; his stern butler, Ramsley; and two other servants, Ezra and Emma, who need help breaking a terrible curse.
The new film will not be a sequel to the 2003 film, but it’s own reboot of the franchise. It had been rumored for years that Disney had tapped Guillermo del Toro to write and direct a reboot, but clearly Justin Simien will be directing the upcoming film for Disney instead. Other production team leads include Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich as producers for the movie, along with writer Katie Dippold (Parks and Recreation, The Heat), who is penning the script for the feature film.
