It’s scary how hungry these Monsters Inc Pop Tarts are making us!
If you like pop tarts and Monsters Inc then you will love these inspired by Mike and Sulley! A delicious treat that makes a great breakfast option or maybe a snack to have while you have a movie night with your family.
Start by lightly dusting your work area with a coating of flour to keep your dough from sticking. Unroll your pie crust dough and flatten with a rolling pin onto the flour-coated surface. Begin cutting 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles. Depending on the size and shape of your pie crust dough, you will only be able to get 2-3 rectangles from each crust.
Combine your scraps and continue to roll out the dough until it is used up.
Next, take half of your rectangular dough cutouts and place 2 tablespoons of jam in the center of each.
Once complete, take the other half of your pie crust cutouts and place them on top of the jam filling. Seal it up by scoring the ends with a fork and vent by piercing the top layer with a toothpick. Brush the tops of each pop tart with melted butter and place in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Allow to cool for 2 hours. During this time, you can start making the icing. Combine powder sugar, meringue powder, vanilla extract, and water. Split into 5 bowls for each of the colors.
Once the pop tarts have completely cooled, place the lime green icing (for Mike Wazowski) and sky blue icing (for Sulley) in piping bags with 1/4″ of the tips snipped off. Coat the top of the pop start with icing (avoiding the scored edges).
Allow about 30 minutes-1 hour for the base layer of icing to fully harden before proceeding with the piping details. Then, spoon the remaining 3 colors (leaf green, royal blue and white) into 3 separate piping bags fitted with a tip.
Starting with the Mike Wazowski pop tarts, pipe a quarter-sized circle for his eye using the white icing. Next, grab the leaf green icing and create 2 triangular shapes above the eye for his horns and a half-circle shape for his mouth. Place a dime-sized circle in the center of the white to form his pupil. Lastly, switch back to the white icing and add a few triangular teeth and a highlight to the inner pupil.
For Sulley, grab your sky blue pop tarts and the piping bag with white icing. Form 2 dime-sized circles for his eyes and 2 small triangles below his right eye for the teeth. Next, with the royal blue icing make 2 crescent shapes above the eyes for his horns, a simple curved line for his smile, and a diamond shape for his nose. Add 2 small royal blue circles to the center of the eyes for his pupils. Next, take the leftover sky blue icing and pipe stripes onto Sulley’s horns. Finish by using your remaining white icing to form 2 highlights on the pupils.
Let the icing set for about 1 hour before serving.

Missing that sweet and delicious Banana Foster Bread Pudding from ‘Ohana?
Well you don’t have to wait until your next Disney vacation, because we have a recipe so you can recreate it at home! You can have it as a breakfast, dessert or just a little treat while you watch your favorite on Disney Plus!
BANANA FOSTER BREAD PUDDING
INGREDIENTS:
8 cups of cubed Ohana pineapple bread or Challah bread
Toast the ohana or challah bread in the oven at 350F for 15 minutes.
Mix the eggs, milk, salt, 1 1/2 cups of sugar and nutmeg and whisk until the sugar is dissolved.
Spread the toasted bread in a rectangle casserole dish, then pour the mixture over it. Let it stand for 10 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 325F for 40-60 minutes or until the top is crunchy and custard is soft but not runny. Let it cool for 5 minutes before cutting.
Mix the corn syrup, butter, 1/2 cup of sugar and brown sugar then add to a sauce pan, once you bring it to a low boil, add the heavy cream slowly. Then add the rum and flambe (skip this if you are using the rum extract).
Cook for 10-15 minutes or until caramel reaches 235F. Remove from heat and add extract (if you didn’t use the spiced rum before) and salt.
Cut the bread pudding and top with banana slices, caramel sauce and ice cream.
Hilary Duff Addresses the Fate of the ‘Lizzie McGuire’ Reboot. Lizzie McGuire fans were shocked to see an update from series star, Hilary Duff, that shared the Disney+ revival series will not be moving forward.
Hilary Duff and original series creator Terri Minsky fought to keep a more honest telling of Lizzie’s story as she navigates her 30’s rather than her teen years. Portions of the show would touch on more adult topics and conversation and Disney quickly stepped in to say that wasn’t going to happen. Minsky was the first to step away from the project, siting “creative differences” as the reason for her departure, but for months now Duff has gone up to bat for the series and it seems the studio and Duff are at a standstill, leaving the series to gather dust on the shelf.
“I don’t think it’s going to be happening,” Duff shared with Entertainment Weekly’s SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show “Now that I’m my age, I’m like, I love her… This is where it all began for me. And she is me, and I am her, and I brought what I could to that, you know, which was very much just who I am inside. And so to tap into that again, even for a moment was really a great experience.”
Though she may not get to play “Lizzie” again, Hilary Duff and Disney have been able to come to create another project, How I Met Your Father. Disney recently announced a new sequel series to 20th Television’sHow I Met Your Mother, named How I Met Your Father, that will star Hilary Duff in the leading role. Duff’s character will play a similar protagonist role to Ted in the original series, with her character explaining to her son how she met their father back in the day.
The HIMYF series synopsis reads: “Set in the near future, the show will follow Sophie (Duff) telling her son the story of how she met his father back in the year 2021, when Sophie and her close-knit group of friends were figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”
Currently, 20th Television has ordered 10-episodes for the series, but pending the success of the show, there is a good chance several new seasons will be picked up at a later date. Hulu has yet to share when the series will premiere on the streaming service, so be sure to check back here at Chip and Co. for updates and all things Disney+!

The mugs have Mickey and Minnie designs on the front that are similar to the Annual Passholder magnet designs. The dad and grandpa mugs feature Mickey, and the mom and grandma ones feature Minnie. I really adore that the grandpa and grandma mug designs have vintage styles for Mickey and Minnie.
The back of each mug has a Four Parks design that showcases an icon from each Walt Disney World Park. There is Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, Tower of Terror, and the Tree of Like featured! The inner lip of each cup also has a Walt Disney World logo!
Walt Disney World Resort on Wednesday announced it will phase out temperature checks. Starting with Cast members on May 8, 2021, followed by Guests starting May 16, 2021. “We will continue to follow the guidance of health and safety leaders going forward and most importantly encourage people to get vaccinated,” Disney said in a prepared statement.
Now it appears that Disney World Resort has removed mention of temperature checks at resort table service restaurants and stopped the screenings totally at some restaurants around Disney World.
Since July 11, 2020, Walt Disney World has put in place enhanced health and safety measures. With social distancing, temperature checks at each entrance, and mask requirements among other protocols. A temperature of over 100.4 degrees and Disney would let you sit in a cool-down tent for 10 minutes and check again. If it still did not fall below 100.4 you were refused entry.
On April 30 2021 Orange County Health Officer Dr. Raul Pino Tweeted “The Department of Health is not recommending temperature checks as they waste resources on something that doesn’t necessarily prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
On May 3, 2021, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed an executive order invalidating local emergency orders and COVID-19 restrictions. Disney quickly followed up with a reminder that masks are still required on Walt Disney Resort property.
In the statement from Disney, they advised “Before you leave home, be sure to check the temperatures of everyone in your party-including yourself-as an extra layer of precaution,”
You can read the whole statement from Disney below.
As with most changes at Disney World resort, it may take some time for these to take full effect. Some restaurants may still be doing temperature checks, others have already stopped.
Jurassic World is currently taking over Universal Orlando. Not only is the VelociCoaster currently running for soft opening, but a new Tribute Store is coming. The new Jurassic World Tribute Store will be located inside Universal Studios where they usually hold the seasonal tribute stores (Halloween, Christmas, and Mardi Gras).
Typically the tribute stores has four different themed rooms, at least one which has a snack case. We are really excited to see what they have in the new Jurassic World store. We can expect lots of coaster merchandise and memorabilia from the movies. There’s no word yet exactly when the store will open but I’m guessing sometime this week. Stay tuned as we get more details.
Epcot fans are counting down the days until Club Cool returns!
Adjacent to the new Creations Shop will be a revitalized Club Cool Hosted by Coca-Cola, which will also open this summer. This will celebrate Coca-Cola in a fresh new way, while keeping the fan-favorite experience that invites you to explore tasty drinks from around the world. This space will also have some new magic to bring the global experience of Coca-Cola to life for you.
In the meantime, Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley is sharing some new information about the upcoming Club Cool.
Today is National Have a Coke Day – and to celebrate I’m sharing a few design details about our entirely new Club Cool hosted by Coca-Cola experience coming to EPCOT this summer. A cool design feature will be a totally custom floor. We carefully selected colors and aggregates to create three unique terrazzo finishes for the new Club Cool.
Terrazzo is a type of poured floor that is known for its style and flexibility, giving our Imagineers a chance to pick unique colors and textures that feel like EPCOT. And get this – we are bringing pieces of Coca-Cola products into the materials of the floor itself!! This terrazzo will incorporate recycled Coca-Cola green glass chips that will capture light and bring the color and connection underfoot. And if you look closely you can even see the remnants of the red bottle labels within the flooring material! This terrazzo is also distinctive in that it uses a natural binder, made up of biodegradable materials. These beautiful floor finishes not only create a branded aesthetic for Club Cool, but further emphasizes both Disney and Coca-Cola’s commitment to sustainability and protecting our environment – perfectly fitting in EPCOT.
We hope enjoy seeing these tidbits on the new Club Cool! Be sure to visit the Epcot location once it opens later this summer.
