The Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor may not currently be open, but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening there. New signage has recently appeared at the popular interactive attraction. It has us wondering, could the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor be reopening soon?

The new banner shows Mike Wazowski and the name of the attraction, as well as the slogan “The future of energy is a joke.” This little phrase is a nod to the hook of the show: monsters use human laughter as an energy source. The Laugh Floor is an attempt by the monsters to acquire lots of energy at once by getting a room full of humans to laugh as much as possible. It has been a feature of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom since 2007, and is a particular favorite for families with young children since there are no age restrictions.

This attraction has been one of the few to remain closed since Walt Disney World reopened in July of 2020. There have been some rumors that the experience could be replaced, but with fresh signs up, it appears those rumors can go to rest for the foreseeable future! Signs had been removed in November of last year. Considering the indoor space and closed quarters, it’s understandable that Disney would be cautious about reopening the Laugh Floor. Hopefully, they can reopen soon and we will all be laughing with our favorite funny monsters before long.
