Our Spoiler-Free Review of Marvel Studios Disney+ Original Series ‘Loki’

Our Spoiler-Free Review of Marvel Studios Disney+ Original Series 'Loki'

Our Spoiler-Free Review of Marvel Studios Disney+ Original Series ‘Loki’. The new Marvel Studios Disney+ Original Series Loki will premiere tomorrow, Wednesday, June 9th and we can’t wait to see what you think! In the meantime, let’s dive into our review of the first two episodes of the series. This post will remain spoiler-free as we know many folks will have to/chose to wait to see the episodes, so please share the same courtesy in the comments after the series premiere, Thanks!

Related: Marvel’s Loki coming to Disney+ on June 9th!

We were fortunate enough to view the first two episodes of Loki, courtesy of our friends at Marvel and Disney+, and Marvel fans are you in for a treat! It’s no secret that the series will follow Loki right after his disappearance in Avengers: Endgame, but how has his escape affected the MCU at large? Loki will explore a whole new level of intrigue featured in the Marvel Comics as well as future MCU titles, the idea of a Multiverse, and the Variants that threaten the main timeline.

We are introduced to several new characters throughout the series played by Marvel newcomers Owen Wilson (TVA Agent Mobius), Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Sophia Di Martino, and Richard E Grant. Despite being paired with the well-established Tom Hiddleston, all the newcomers establish themselves as forces that ought not to be messed with, even The God of Mischief.

Our Spoiler-Free Review of Marvel Studios Disney+ Original Series 'Loki'

Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston make a wonderful “buddy cop” pair, with both partners trying to establish a leg up on one another throughout the episodes, but we can easily see how this will lead to some more mischief down the line. Adding to the humor of the series is Wunmi Mosaku who, rightly, doesn’t trust Loki as far as she can throw him. The whole cast adds enrichment to the story and helps fans to “catch up” on who and what the Time Variance Authority (TVA) are and why they haven’t intervened in the events of the MCU before.

Tom’s triumphant return as Loki was certainly unexpected before his disappearance in Avengers: Endgame. Now we get a chance to explore who Loki is as a person and why he feels a responsibility overseeing his “glorious purpose” come to fruition. This has given Hiddleston a real chance to shine on screen. Loki is no longer a supporting character or dependant on his brother (or the Avengers) to tell his own story. He can truly step into his own limelight, and face his biggest foe to date.

Construction being done on Gaston’s Tavern and Bathrooms

Gaston's Tavern and Bathrooms

Construction being done on Gaston’s Tavern and Bathrooms could be a sign of a 50th Anniversary make-over. It should be noted it could also be general maintenance. The work order filled with the Orange County comptrollers office, states General Construction to be done. Gaston’s Tavern is home to my favorite in-park drink. Lefou Brew.

The “general construction” covers the area that included the whole Beauty and the Beast area. Including Be Our Guest along with Gaston’s Tavern and Bathrooms. Including Bonjour! Village Gifts. This area could just be going through spruce up prior to the Walt Disney Worlds 50th anniversary. Just not a major overhaul I would think.

Gaston's Tavern and Bathrooms Beasts Tower

Clearly, most areas of the Magic Kingdom are getting a fresh coat of paint and general clean up and a fresh new look. Without a doubt, this is all for the 50th. We have reported on Storybook Circus having work done on Pete’s Silly Sideshow area, Casey Jr Splash pad getting a fresh coat of paint, along with behind Cinderella Castle getting painted. Importantly, the full make-over of Cinderella castle herself.
