Harrison Ford Claims He is the One and Only Indiana Jones Actor… Sorry, Chris Pratt. Rumors have been circulating online once again that Harrison Ford will be replaced with a younger actor. According to scooper Daniel Richtman Lucasfilm is looking to replace Harrison Ford with Marvel star Chris Pratt in order to bring new life to the franchise and allow for new stories to be shared after the premiere of ‘Indiana Jones 5‘.
Back in 2019, Ford spoke with Variety about his upcoming projects and when asked about his potential replacement clearly shared his opinion on the matter, stating, “Nobody is going to be Indiana Jones,” Ford replied after being asked who he’d like to see take up the role. “Don’t you get it? I’m Indiana Jones. When I’m gone, he’s gone. It’s easy.”
At the time, reports seemed to hint at Chris Pine taking on the role, but it seems the Wonder Woman 1984 actor may have been surpassed and now Lucasfilm is looking to cast Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World Star, Chris Pratt. It should be noted, Lucasfilm has not made any such announcement about replacing Harrison Ford in the role, in fact Producer Frank Marshall has previously shared, “There will only be one Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford,” seemly stamping all over the idea. Richtman also shared that the reason for the recasting would have to do with the next Indiana Jones film setting up the potential for spin-off films and an animated series.
Would you like to see new Indiana Jones adventures from Indy’s younger years? Do you think Chris Pratt would be a good replacement for Ford? Who else could you see in the iconic role? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
