Guests are being provided autograph cards after meeting Figment at EPCOT
The Figment Meet and Greet is now open at EPCOT, with guests lining up for 5+ hours yesterday to meet the fan-favorite purple dragon. We discovered while waiting in that same line yesterday that you can keep your autograph book stowed away in your backpack since Figment is not signing autographs.
Rather than having the character sign autographs, Disney is providing guests with an autograph card that contains Figment’s signature.
Figment is not the only character experience that provides autograph cards in lieu of the characters actually signing autographs, as we have recently also received them from Olaf over in Hollywood Studios and from the characters at Storybook Dining.
About Figment
Figment has been a beloved Disney character since he first appeared in the original Journey Into Imagination attraction back in 1983. The first iteration of the attraction, which featured Figment and Dreamfinder, was later replaced in 1999 by Journey into YOUR Imagination. The second version of the attraction was only in place for 2 years, as fans rejected the attraction largely because Figment was no longer part of it. The current version, Journey into Imagination with Figment, opened in 2001 and brought Figment back to EPCOT. Journey into Imagination with Figment stars Imagination Institute chairman Dr. Nigel Channing, who sets out to prove how the 5 senses capture the imagination. Figment upstages the chairman, turning the lab upside down and causing a bit of a stinky situation in the process.

The whirlwind weekend might be over, but we’re not done geeking out over what the Walt Disney Company has in the pipeline. Think new rides, awesome experiences, high-tech wizardry, and eco-friendly vibes – we just returned from Destination D23 and got the scoop on all the cool stuff Disney’s cooking up for its fans around the world.
D23 is to Disney what the State of the Union address is to the United States government. Just as the State of the Union is a pivotal moment when the President addresses the nation, laying out their vision and plans for the country’s future, D23 serves as Disney’s platform to connect with its devoted fanbase and share its grand vision for the magical world it creates.
Both events are a showcase of leadership, innovation, and the power of storytelling. While the State of the Union shapes the nation’s path, D23 shapes the enchanting dreams and experiences that continue to capture hearts around the world. From what we learned this weekend, in my opinion the state of the union is strong.

As the Walt Disney Company reflects on its historic journey, celebrating a century of enchantment, we find ourselves captivated by the enduring magic it has woven into our lives. For a hundred years, this iconic company has kindled our imaginations, touched our hearts, and transported us to realms where dreams come true.
From the whimsical world of animation to the mesmerizing wonders of theme parks, Disney’s legacy has left an indelible mark on generations of dreamers, uniting us in a shared belief that anything is possible with a dash of pixie dust and a sprinkle of imagination. At its very core, this year’s D23 event remind us why we fell in love with Disney.
This year’s Destination D23 Expo was a spectacular showcase of Disney’s pageantry, where the magic of imagination took center stage. Disney envisioned “Blue Skies” last year in Anaheim, and we learned that one of those ideas has progressed in a major way. Dinoland USA will soon give way to “tropical americas.” This biodiverse region of the world will house new Encanto and Indiana Jones inspired attractions. While there is a ways to go before these concepts are realized, the promises of last year continue to move forward to bring new life to Animal Kingdom.
Additionally Disney invited us to dream on a scale of epic proportions when we think of what could lie “Beyond Big Thunder Mountain.” Bruce Vaughn, Chief Creative Officer at Walt Disney Imagineering invited us all to think in scale of things like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora – The World of Avatar. While specifics remain unclear, the size and scope of Magic Kingdom’s expansion has us excited for the future and looking towards next year’s expo for more details.

Disney delivered on other promises from D23 Expo 2022, most notably Figment at EPCOT, a return of Happily Ever After, the Hatbox Ghost, and more. Projects like Tron Lightcycle Power Run and Moana Journey of Water have augmented their respective parks and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will invigorate Frontierland in Disneyland and Disney World in the near future. Avengers Campus is also adding an exciting new ride, as we learned more specifics about the “King Thanos” concept from 2022. We have new night time spectaculars, new shows, and exciting new character meet and greets coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland in the near future.
International parks are booming adding attractions, dining and resorts all around the world. Beloved classics like Frozen, Tangled, Zootopia, and Peter Pan are being added in Paris, Shanghai and Japan. We even learned of surprises like a brand new “Pirates” tavern at the Magic Kingdom. A one of a kind expansion that is growing the story of the Pirates of the Caribbean. Test Track is getting some love, as Disney collaborates with Chevrolet to bring changes to this thrilling attraction.
Years ago many speculated that the “Country Bears” were on the path to extinction, however we learned that Country Bear Jamboree has a lot more music in store for the guests of Magic Kingdom. New Music and a new act are on the way, so that generations of fans can build new memories with these beloved animatronics. While I spent a minute lamenting the changing of a classic, I was reminded by Disneyland’s creator that, “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”
This year’s Destination D23 gave our community a chance to pause look back on a challenging journey we’ve all been on together. Throughout it all, countless Disney enthusiasts found comfort in theme parks, attractions, movies, and music. Despite the difficulties and obstacles, Disney has been a source of hope for millions during tough times, and I believe we’ve emerged from it all as a united community.
What I liked most about this year’s expo was how it made me feel both nostalgic and excited about what’s coming up in the next ten years. Disney has followed through on many of the promises from last year’s expo in Anaheim; and they’re not slowing down with a multitude of new projects and even bigger investments in the parks. If you’re a Disney Parks fan, it’s a really exciting time, and I’m leaving this weekend super pumped about what’s in store for Disney Parks and Entertainment. D23 Royal Anniversary Ball Celebrates Disney 100 this October
Hear ye, hear ye! D23 is inviting the biggest Disney fans to the D23 Royal Anniversary Ball at The Walt Disney Studios—celebrating 100 years of Disney! This will be a one-of-a-kind event that you won’t want to miss.
Marking 100 years of magic and enchantment, this royal ball will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. The event is taking place at The Walt Disney Studios on October 15, 2023, and guests are encouraged to dress to impress. Find your Fairy Godmother and have her whip up a magical look for you and your royal court!
Upon arrival, guests will then make a luxurious grand entrance onto The Walt Disney Studios lot via a sprawling purple carpet, complete with photo opportunities aplenty. Then, you’ll find magical offerings around every corner of the lot throughout the night—including regal displays of magical costumes and props from the Walt Disney Archives; shopping for astonishing apparel and gifts at the Walt Disney Studio Store and Walt Disney Company Store; and an array of tantalizing foods, inspired by each decade of Disney history, and a hosted bar of tempting libations.
As for the evening’s entertainment, you and your court will experience enjoyable activities that make this festive ball truly ROYAL! From majestic music to dazzling dancing, to meeting with favorite Disney characters, there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of the magic before the clock strikes midnight!
Fans in attendance will also be able to watch the inspiring new short Once Upon a Studio from Walt Disney Animation Studios in the historic Studio Theater all evening long. Celebrating 100 years of the studio that started it all, this short reveals what happens when a century of iconic characters gather for a group photo.

Walls are Down as Construction is Complete on Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Lobby
The work on Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort lobby is complete and the construction walls have been removed! The lobby was walled off for a few weeks while the room was refreshed and brought up to date.
Overall, the lobby looks mostly the same as before. It looks like the room received a fresh coat of paint and some furniture has been rearranged.
Upon closer examination, we noticed that there is no longer a concrete slab next to the elevator. Carpet has been installed and some chairs have been put in the space.
The lobby is still has beautiful and welcoming as always with its Victorian elegance and décor. Even though the lobby construction is complete, work is still ongoing in other parts of the resort. Some rooms are still getting a refurbishment and guests will still hear and see construction during the day.

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Christmas Cabin Fever Coming Soon To Disney+
The upcoming animated adventure, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever,” the latest installment in the popular book series by Jeff Kinney, is set to debut exclusively on Disney+ on December 8, 2023. This film promises to deliver a delightful and touching holiday story, centered around the lovable and accident-prone middle school student we all adore.
As the winter holidays approach, Greg Heffley finds himself facing an extraordinary level of stress. He accidentally damages a snowplow while building a snowman with his best friend Rowley Jefferson, leading to concerns that he won’t receive the coveted new video game console he’s been yearning for on Christmas. To compound his worries, he becomes snowed in with his family, which includes his grouchy older brother Rodrick and his pesky younger brother Manny.
Directed by Luke Cormican, known for his work on “Teen Titans Go!,” and written and produced by Jeff Kinney himself, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever” features the voices of talented actors such as Wesley Kimmel from “The Mandalorian,” Erica Cerra from “Power Rangers,” and Hunter Dillon from “Deadpool 2.”

Figment Meet and Greets have started at EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion
One little spark of inspiration may be at the heart of all creation, but one purple dragon was at the heart of long lines at EPCOT this morning. Figment, the fan-favorite purple dragon from Journey Into Imagination With Figment, started greeting guests today at EPCOT, and guests wait in LONG lines to meet him!
We arrived prior to park open this morning, and found a VERY long line had already formed to meet Figment. Guests staying on site, who were afforded early park entry to EPCOT today, were already inside ImageWorks waiting to meet Figment when we were finally able to enter the park over an hour before the meet and greet opened!
2.5 hours in and we were still waiting outside, but after a great deal of persistence we finally made it in to meet Figment.
The meet and greet is super fun and well worth the wait, especially for long-time figment fans. We managed to grab a video of Figment coming out of the tunnel to greet guests.

Guests arriving around noon found found the estimated wait time for the meet and greet to be 5 hours, so if you are hoping to meet Figment soon we highly recommend you try to arrive at EPCOT early.
The Figment Meet and Greet is housed in the same Imagination pavilion as Journey Into Imagination With Figment, occurring in the space that previously housed the Wreck It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz meet and greet.

Disney unveiled an exciting peek at Asha from Disney’s Wish movie. D23 attendees got their first look at this new face character coming to EPCOT, Disneyland, and Disneyland Tokyo Sea. We absolutely love character meet and greets, and Disney has revealed plenty of new characters coming to parks around the world in the past few weeks.
Josh D’Amaro announced in the Destination D23 Parks Presentation that EPCOT, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris are getting an exciting new meet and greet in the near future. Asha, from the new Disney animated film “Wish” will also soon be coming to EPCOT, Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris.
THIS WISH – Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish” introduces Asha, a sharp-witted idealist who makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star set out to prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.
Featuring the voice of Academy Award® winner Ariana DeBose as Asha, the all-new musical-comedy is helmed by Oscar®-winning director Chris Buck (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (“Raya and the Last Dragon”), produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and co-produced by Juan Pablo Reyes (“Encanto”). “Wish” opens only in theaters on Nov. 22, 2023.
