Temporary Directional Sign Installed at World Showcase Bridge in EPCOT

The landscape of EPCOT has been changing drastically thanks to all of the construction that is ongoing throughout the park. The former Future World has been replaced by several distinct neighborhoods. To help guests navigate around this updated section of the park, Disney has installed temporary signage on World Showcase Bridge ahead of a more permanent sign being installed.

The temporary signage direct guests to continue straight to head into World Showcase, hang a left to head towards World Discovery, or to turn right to travel to World Nature.

The tempoary signage is another step towards completion of the multi-year effort to update and refresh EPCOT, which has seen not only the transformation of Future World into new neighborhoods, but also various buildings in World Showcase being refreshed.

Tinkerbell & Other Toparies Out Ahead of EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival

PCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival is just around the corner, and some magical friends have already made their appearance! Tinkerbell has flown in and is ready to sprinkle her pixie dust at this year’s festival, which is set to run from February 28 to May 27, 2024.

Guests can visit the Tinkerbell Topiary in the United Kingdom Pavilion.

Tinkerbell is not the only topiary that has arrived for the festival-the giant troll in the Norway pavilion has also taken its place, standing tall and proud. These topiaries, which are plants shaped into fun and interesting forms, are just a peek at what’s to come at the festival.

The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is a fan-favorite event that happens every spring. It’s a time when EPCOT transforms into a wonderland of colorful flowers, plants, and amazing topiaries shaped like some of our favorite Disney characters. The festival is packed full of food, concerts, and fun!

A variety of flowers will also be found around EPCOT during the festival. The first wave of these flowers has also been installed, with this beautiful butterfly taking shape along the water.

The EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is a highlight of the spring season at Walt Disney World. With magical characters like Tinkerbell and the troll from Norway already making themselves at home, this year’s festival is sure to be a memorable one!

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Kiosk Taking Shape at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort

Dreaming of snagging one of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs delicious delicacies while strolling around Disney’s Boardwalk Resort? It appears this dream will soon become reality, as the stand is really starting to take shape!

The stand is currently tucked behind some temporary shrubbery, which provide separation between guests walking along the Boardwalk and the construction that is ongoing inside the stand. The stand appears to be painted, and the exterior lighting is installed. While we cannot see the interior of the stand, based on the exterior it appears the stand is close to opening!

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, which currently operates out of a kiosk in Downtown Disney at Disneyland, is bringing their tasty treats to the East Coast. When open, the menu will likely mimic the Disneyland Menu, which features a variety of Corn Dogs, including a Classic Corn Dog, a Pickle Corn Dog (Hot Dog, wrapped in a Pickle, fried in Cornmeal Batter, and Panko Crusted. Served with a Bag of Chips and Peanut Butter), and a Golden Dragon Dog (Classic, All-Beef Corn Dog, crusted with Panko Breadcrumbs. Served with a side of Sriracha Mayo, sweet Thai chili, and a Bag of Chips).

New Coca-Cola Location Opening Soon in Hollywood Studios

A new Coca-Cola location will be opening soon in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The space is on Grand Avenue near Muppet Vision 3D.

Construction walls have been up around the area for months now but we can see the top of the building peeking out above them. Artwork has been installed on the walls opposite the Muppets theater, and the exterior of the building appears to be finished.

The kiosk is situated along the main pathway leading into Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, while the original snack kiosk in the vicinity has been relocated across the street.

The artwork we can see says, “Ice Cold Hydraulics Los Angeles, California” on two sides of the building. The address of the building is put above the other artwork on one side as well. It reads, “725 Grand Avenue”.

Self Service Build-Your-Own Lightsaber Experience Returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios After Almost 4 Years

After almost four years, the self-service build-your-own lightsaber experience has returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The experience is located in Tatooine Traders and guests can now make their lightsaber without Cast Member assistance.

Upon reopening in July 2020 following the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, Walt Disney World made substantial adjustments to the build-your-own lightsaber experience to adhere to physical distancing regulations and implement rigorous sanitization measures. Under the new protocols, only a limited number of guests were permitted to construct a lightsaber simultaneously, with a Cast Member providing a single bin of parts to each group.

Now, guests have regained the opportunity to independently explore the complete range of parts, select their components, experiment with different combinations, and assemble their lightsabers without the need for Cast Members to oversee the process. However, Cast Members remain available to assist guests and provide explanations as needed.

This experience comes at a considerably lower cost compared to the handbuilt lightsaber experience at Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Guests have the opportunity to try their hand at building a lightsaber before making a purchase decision. Additionally, the lightsabers at Tatooine Traders are made of plastic rather than metal and it is a less immersive experience.

Above the bins of lightsaber parts, the steps for assembling a lightsaber are clearly outlined. Guests select an emitter, blade, and hilt, followed by customizing the hilt and selecting an end cap or adapter. With multiple bins and stations available, several guests can simultaneously craft their lightsabers.

The collapsible lightsaber blades are available in purple, white, green, yellow, blue, and red. There are numerous options for emitters and hilts to choose from. Guests have the flexibility to construct either a single-blade lightsaber or a double-blade lightsaber, reminiscent of Darth Maul’s. Additionally, there is a deluxe emitter option resembling Kylo Ren’s lightsaber emitter.

Pricing varies depending on what type of lightsaber you build. A single-blade saber is $29.99 while a double-blade saber is $44.99.

EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall Construction Update

EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall Construction Update

Work continues in Epcot on the CommuniCore Hall and Plaza in World Celebration. We don’t have an exact opening date other than “2024”. We recently visited the park and got a look at the construction.

Fresh plywood paneling has been mounted on a wall of CommuniCore Hall, positioned towards the World Nature area. The plywood doesn’t fully encase the wall, leaving rectangular gaps that indicate alternative paneling may be fitted in those areas.

Some of the building is covered in white paneling. In one section, there are triangular panels reminiscent of Spaceship Earth. Some are arranged in three-dimensional pyramid shapes, while others lie flat. This area of the building is adorned with black blocks along its edges. Some of the pyramids are embellished with colorful accents.

CommuniCore Hall is planned to incorporate a permanent meet and greet space for Mickey & Friends, a demonstration kitchen, a gallery, and a mixology bar. Meanwhile, CommuniCore Plaza will feature a stage for live performances.

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza derive their names from the original CommuniCore pavilions that debuted alongside EPCOT on its opening day. Subsequently, the CommuniCore pavilions underwent a name change to Innoventions. Innoventions West was razed to facilitate the construction of Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana,” as well as the festival pavilion. Meanwhile, Innoventions East and Electric Umbrella were transformed into Connections Café and Eatery.

Cake Bake Shop Construction Update for February 2024

Construction continues on the new Cake Bake Shop coming to Disney’s BoardWalk! The restaurant was originally supposed to open in 2023 but the opening has been pushed back.

Disney says, “The Cake Bake Shop will bring exquisite dining, delicious Afternoon Tea, delectable desserts, marvelous champagne and fanciful cocktails for an extraordinary and whimsical experience. “

Although we haven’t determined an exact opening date yet, based on the current progress, it appears unlikely that we’ll witness its opening until the summer, at the earliest.

The walls are still up around the restaurant with signs showing pictures of the foods we can expect to see offered along with the words “Coming Soon”. We can see the top half of the building which is covered in blue exterior construction material.

Kansas City Chiefs will Celebrate the 2024 Super Bowl Win at Disneyland

The Kansas City Chiefs have won Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers! To celebrate, the team is going to Disneyland tomorrow!

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime. We knew ahead of time that the winning team would be heading to Disneyland on February 12th to celebrate the win.

The happiest quarterback on earth is headed back to The Happiest Place On Earth! Patrick Mahomes just led Kansas City to a historic overtime win in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas and, like so many great players before him, Mahomes celebrated by shouting “I’M GOING TO DISNEYLAND!” This is the third time the Chiefs’ star quarterback has been featured in the famous commercial.

Mahomes continues a long tradition of superstar players celebrating a Super Bowl championship by shouting “I’m Going to Disneyland.” The iconic phrase is the centerpiece of Disney’s famous Super Bowl commercial which started in 1987 and has added a little pixie dust every year to America’s biggest sporting event. You can catch this year’s commercial starring Mahomes airing this week on TV and social media platforms in English and Spanish.

Mahomes’s performance in Super Bowl LVIII was worthy of a magical celebration. Everyone watching the game will no doubt remember the final drive in which he completed all eight of his pass attempts and rushed for two crucial first downs before throwing the history making touchdown. This is the third time Mahomes has been named the Super Bowl MVP.

Fans can help commemorate the Chiefs championship at Disneyland Resort on Monday afternoon. If you plan on being in the park, you might see Mahomes enjoying the day while experiencing some of the park’s signature attractions. He will also be featured in a cavalcade with some of your favorite Disney characters so be sure to join the celebration on the parade route from “it’s a small world” all the way down to Main Street U.S.A., at 2 p.m. PT.
