Toy Story Funday Football Coming To Disney+ and ESPN+ this October

In an unprecedented collaboration, ESPN, The Walt Disney Company, and the National Football League have joined forces to introduce a groundbreaking NFL game presentation titled “Toy Story Funday Football.” This innovative experience will transport viewers into the whimsical world of Pixar’s iconic “Toy Story” Universe, where they will witness real-time action between the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fans of all ages are in for a treat as they are invited to immerse themselves in this fully-animated spectacle. Tune in on Sunday morning, October 1st, at 9:30 a.m. ET to catch this unique event, which will be available on Disney+, ESPN+, and mobile devices through NFL+. As the action unfolds at Wembley Stadium in London, renowned for hosting the NFL International Series, it will simultaneously come to life in Andy’s room, one of the movie’s most beloved settings.

This presentation exemplifies ESPN’s commitment to innovation, offering alternate telecasts during signature events, and promises to deliver an unforgettable fusion of sports and animated magic.

ESPN and Disney’s “Toy Story” alternate telecast complements the primary game presentation of the Falcons and Jaguars’ Week 4 matchup available on ESPN+, local broadcast stations in the markets of the participating teams, and on mobile with NFL+. Chris Fowler, Dan Orlovsky, Louis Riddick, and Laura Rutledge will be inside Wembley Stadium for the game’s call.

Andy’s Room to Host Toy Story Funday Football

Andy’s room will replicate the on-the-field gameplay from Wembley Stadium, where each Falcon and Jaguar player will have animated representation on a traditional-looking field, catered to the “Toy Story” setting. Fans will view every run, pass, score, and all football-related action through state-of-the-art tracking technology enabled by the NFL’s Next Gen Stats player tracking data and Beyond Sports.

In addition to the gameplay, all the surrounding aspects of the game – announcers, graphics, scoreboard, penalty announcements, celebrations, and more – will all embrace the “Toy Story”-themed offering in their packaging and delivery, all occurring in Andy’s room.

Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and many of the characters from the acclaimed animated series will be visible throughout, participating from the sidelines and in other non-gameplay elements.

This first-of-its-kind NFL presentation is made possible by ESPN, ESPN’s Edge Innovation Center, Disney, NFL, Pixar, Next Gen Stats, Beyond Sports, and Silver Spoon.

Special Halftime Show: Duke Caboom will attempt a motorcycle jump
Learning the Game: Demonstrations, including ‘how to’ videos, trivia, and more will be used through the telecast to teach the game of football to the audience.
Hear from the Players: The real-life Falcons and Jaguar players will also contribute through pre-recorded segments and interviews.

The exclusive streaming presentation of an NFL game is one of the many added elements in ESPN’s new rights agreement with the NFL.

Available Live and On Replay in the United States and Globally

In the United States, Toy Story Funday Football will be available live on Disney+ and ESPN+, with replay available shortly after the game ends on Disney+ and NFL+ for a limited time. Globally, the special presentation will be available in over 95 markets live and/or replay, spanning five continents including in Brazil, UK, Mexico and France. Video on Demand will also be available in these and other markets 24 hours after the live broadcast ends.

Disneyland Hotel is the first Disney Hotel to propose a five-star journey celebrating Disney royalty in all its expressions. Cake Bake Shop Delays Opening till 2024

The new Cake Bake Shop coming to Disney’s BoardWalk is delaying its opening until 2024. It was originally planned to open this year. The company recently shared an update on its Facebook page.

The Cake Bake Shop is taking over the former ESPN Club. Construction on the building has been ongoing for some time now. The new restaurant was scheduled to open in 2023 but now has been delayed to early 2024.

Here’s the official update:

“All of us at The Cake Bake Shop are eager to unveil the beautiful details and charm that are coming to Disney’s BoardWalk! As the excitement is building and our hearts are brimming with anticipation, we expect to open our doors early next year to welcome you to an unforgettable dining experience. Tour a One bedroom DVC Suite at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower

We recently got to stay in a one bedroom DVC suite at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower in Walt Disney World. We were attending Destination D23 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the Bay Lake Tower was the perfect spot to stay!

One bedroom villas at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower can sleep up to 5 adults. The sleeping arrangements feature 1 king bed, 1 queen-size sleeper sofa, and a twin-size sleeper chair. The villa also has a full kitchen, living and dining areas, laundry area, and 2 full bathrooms.

The decor of the room, and resort itself, is elegant with touches of Disney. There is a castle painting in the bathroom, Space Mountain artwork in the dining area, and Mickey Mouse artwork at the entrance to the villa.

Having 2 full bathrooms is perfect for larger families. Guests have more space to spread out and multiple family members can get ready at the same time each day.

The bedroom features a king bed, desk with chair, small tv, dresser, en suite bathroom, and access to the balcony.

We had a fantastic view of the lake from our room and we loved our stay at Bay Lake Tower!

Disney World has Open Casting Call for Luisa From ‘Encanto’

Earlier this year, Disney made an exciting announcement about Mirabel’s upcoming meet-and-greet appearances at the Magic Kingdom. During the summer, Disney Auditions also sought individuals who resembled “Bruno” for casting. Now, Disney Auditions appears to be expanding the Madrigal family by issuing another casting call, this time for the character Luisa.

As per Disney Auditions, “Disney Live Entertainment is seeking Disney Character Look-alikes for the role of Luisa as depicted in the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Encanto. This role is for potential future special events.”

“Performers will have the opportunity to bring this role to life, in addition to performing as world famous Disney Characters at our Parks & Resorts near Orlando, Florida. Disney Character Performers play before thousands of guests each day in character greetings, sightings, and other experiences across the Walt Disney World Resort. Performers sign autographs, pose for pictures, and help create magical moments with guests of all ages.”

The Seaweed is certainly greener for Disney this weekend as the Little Mermaid Live Action reimagining made a big splash with its arrive on the company’s streaming service.

The live-action reinterpretation of Disney’s Academy Award®-winning animated musical, featuring Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy, achieved record-breaking success as the most-watched Disney movie premiere on Disney+ since Hocus Pocus 2. It garnered an impressive 16 million views within its initial five days of streaming.

This triumph on Disney+ follows an already impressive theatrical run during the summer. Directed by Rob Marshall, the movie opened during Memorial Day weekend, raking in $118.6 million in North America alone. It secured its place as one of the top five highest-grossing films of the summer domestically, amassing nearly $300 million.

The Little Mermaid, also starring Javier Bardem, Daveed Diggs, and Awkwafina, has earned a spot among the top ten films globally in 2023, with a worldwide box office revenue of $570 million. Audiences showered the film with praise, reflected in an “A” CinemaScore and an impressive 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

In 2023, The Little Mermaid continues the legacy of the beloved 1989 classic, captivating fans worldwide through a plethora of merchandise, attractions at parks and resorts, video games, books, and theater productions. The release of the live-action adaptation has also rejuvenated interest in Disney’s animated version, leading to tremendous engagement with The Little Mermaid animated films on Disney+.

Disney’s History with The Little Mermaid:

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” is based on the Danish fairy tale written by Hans Christian Andersen. The original story revolves around a young mermaid who dreams of becoming human and falls in love with a prince. However, she must make a great sacrifice to achieve her dream. Walt Disney himself expressed interest in adapting Andersen’s story into an animated film as early as the 1930s. However, technical limitations and budget constraints at the time made it a challenging project to undertake.

The project faced several delays and shelving throughout the decades due to various reasons, including the difficulty of adapting the underwater world convincingly and a shift in focus to other Disney classics like “Snow White” and “Cinderella.” The project gained momentum in the mid-1980s when Ron Clements and John Musker, two experienced Disney animators and directors, were tasked with bringing “The Little Mermaid” to life. They aimed to modernize and streamline the story.

Production of “The Little Mermaid” began in earnest in 1986. The team faced technical challenges in animating underwater scenes but eventually overcame them. They also assembled a talented team of animators, composers, and voice actors. Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” was released in theaters on November 17, 1989. The film marked a significant turning point for Disney animation, often referred to as the “Disney Renaissance” era. It was the first Disney animated feature since “The Rescuers” (1977) and set the stage for a string of successful animated films in the 1990s.

And now the film has been given to a new generation with this live action adaptation and return to a beloved classic.

Figment-mania has arrived at Epcot in Walt Disney World! Guests of all ages have always loved the adorable purple dragon but the love has grown even more since last weekend. From a new meet and greet to new merchandise, there are so many ways to show your love for Figment!

Figment Meet & Greet

A new Figment meet and greet has arrived in Epcot! Guests can meet the cute purple dragon in the Imagination Pavilion. The meet & greet opened on September 10 and guests waited up to 5 hours to meet Figment. Figment comes out of a Dreamport tunnel to greet guests with hugs and photo ops!

This meet and greet is so fun and worth the wait for fans of Figment and Journey Into Imagination.

Figment does not sign autographs, however. Guests will get a cute autograph card to take with them after they meet Figment.

We recently spotted new Figment merchandise at Epcot! From socks to hoodies, these products will for sure spark your style.
