Disney Short “Frozen Fever” is a hit

Disney’s new short “Frozen Fever” will be coming out on March 13, 2015 along with the live action, Cinderella.

The cute and funny short was a nice opening for Cinderella.  Bringing back our favorite characters from Frozen, and full of references to the original.  Olaf, Elsa, Sven and Kristoff are getting ready to celebrate Anna’s birthday. Elsa wants it to be a perfect celebration and plans the perfect day.  But along the way, things get a bit icy as it usually the case whenever Elsa is around.   The short takes us on a tour throughout the castle and town as  Elsa and Anna follow a string to clues and gifts.  Along the way Elsa starts to show signs of a cold and her sneezing causes some unexpected surprises.

Co-Director Chris Buck & Producer Peter Del Vecho talked about the fun in making the short during the press conference.   The idea behind the string came about from a family event where Chris Buck and his wife, used string to lead their kids to their Easter baskets one year and used in the short for Elsa to lead Anna to each of her gifts.    Elsa’s cold also brings us new characters – “snowgies”.  It seems whenever she sneezes “snowgies” (snow boogers) are born.  Little snow critters  available to collect very soon were the hit of the short for most of us!

Loretta Garcia, Entertainment Writer for Chip and co wants to make sure you don’t miss Cinderella and Frozen Fever and check out the video above to meet the “snowgies”.

BOOKING YOUR WALT DISNEY WORLD TRIP IN 2016

You can book rooms at Walt Disney World for 2016 up to 499 days in advance right now.

You can’t do it on the Disney World website yourself though. You can only do it by calling Disney directly, or through a travel specialist like me and my friends at World of Magic Travel.

Right now, we can only book your Resort rooms—not packages (room/tickets/dining plan) After we book your Resort room, once the ticket prices and Disney Dining Plan details are released, we can easily add these to your reservation details.

The prices you’ll be quoted on the website will be 2015 prices and the prices for the next year are typically released in the summer of the prior year. The 2016 prices will probably be announced in summer 2015 sometime. If any discounts come out between the time you book and the time you travel, we can help you take advantage of those by adding them to your reservation.

I highly recommend booking your Walt Disney World trip at least 180 days in advance of your arrival date, so that you can make dining reservations at the restaurants you want and for the dates you want. The Disney website won’t allow you to book for 2016 dates, until summer 2015, so contacting me to help you with that, can really be beneficial to your vacation!

Travel agents are free to you to use, as they are compensated by Disney, not by their clients.  The prices we will quote you are as good as, or even better as those you can book yourself! Click here for my other tips on booking an affordable Disney trip on a budget!

If you love to plan ahead, and are saving up for your 2016 trip, make it a reality with an Official Disney Rersort Reservation! I can book resort stays all the way through next February for you! See, I told you so much gossip so little time. Could someone tell Chippy to ease up on me a bit here? Yea, like that will happen! Today I have Olaf gossip and it’s really good!

I have a question for you, Do you want to build a snowman? Of course you do!! I was told by a reliable source that right now there is an Olaf meet and greet testing of sorts going on at Disney World Resorts.

On certain weekends Olaf is meeting guests at different Disney World Resorts. There is no set schedule and the resort does not know until the day of that it is going to be Olaf. Disney does this when they want to test out character interaction and to prepare them for park time. They want to see how well the character is going to be received, do the guests enjoy the interaction, is the costume believable etc.

How cool would this be? I know I will be first on MDE to get a fastpass!

Well that’s all the Disney gossip I have right now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at [email protected] or on my Facebook page.

“Miles From Tomorrowland: Missions” Review

Recently I had the opportunity to try out the new phone app, Miles From Tomorrowland: Missions. It’s a very cute new game from Disney Junior.

The app is a fun game based on the new hit Disney Junior show, “Miles From Tomorrowland“. I was very excited to try out the new game, since my son is already in love with the new show! It’s a continuous scroll platform game, so you don’t need a lot of controls, just timing and coordination. You move through out the many worlds from the television show,  and complete Missions for the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. I especially loved the “Messages from Miles”, fun little shorts that give you more insight into the world of Tomorrowland, and Miles.

miles from tomorrowland start screen

The levels start out with a message from Miles’ sister Loretta, who alerts you to the objective of each level. Collecting rare space rocks and power-ups to will help boost your high score, and using the power of your laserang and heat ray will help blast through space debris and obstacles. Different levels also switch between Merch your Robo-Ostrich, and Miles’ blastboard! The blastboard allows you to pull off tricks on ramps and slopes. The levels are all bright and colorful, and look straight out of the new cartoon! Even the voices and facial expressions are right on point. There are additional levels, “planets” after you beat the original free ones that come with the app. The new planets offer even more challenges, to have longer game time with.

miles from tomorrowland in action

The game was a lot of fun, and I had a great time with it. I also played this app with my son who is 3, and a friend of his that is 6. Both boys loved how several things they love about Miles are incorporated, especially catchphrases like “Craters, and Blastastic!  The 6 year old had a great time with it, and was able to handle the controls with ease. Although the show is aimed at preschoolers, they may have a bit of a harder time playing than the 5+ crowd. I would say this is definitely a fully action based game using hand, eye coordination to the fullest, but not focused on puzzles or problem solving.

craters

Awe Craters! Looks like our time is up for now, but I would love to hear how everyone else liked the game, please let us know!

The “Miles from Tomorrowland: Missions” app is now available in the App Store, and coming soon to Google Play And The Amazon Appstore. This app is free with additional levels of game play available for purchase in-app. For more updates, and to find out more about the new Disney Junior Series “Miles from Tomorrowland”, go to DisneyJunior.com/Miles, DisneyStores.com, orFacebook!

“Miles from Tomorrowland” is already showing on Disney Junior, and has been an out of this world ride! I can’t wait to check out the game and blast off with Miles and Merc on all new adventures!

5 Reasons to RunDisney

run disney
run disney

run disney

To most of us, there is nothing like driving through those beautiful arches that say “Walt Disney World” with our favorite Characters. The tear of joy you get when you see the Castle, the excitement when you (now) see the Chinese Theater, or adventure as you walk around the World or Tree of Life. Some of us get that same feeling of joy, energy and freedom as we walk, jog or run. It makes us feel empowered, we are capable of anything. We can take of on the world. So why not have that feeling and conquer Disney World? There is nothing quite like runDisney and I’m going to share some reason why you should runDisney and some tips for when you do!

5 Reasons to runDisney! Here we go….

  1. Someone for Everyone- All kinds of races, all seasons at all different times! No matter what the excuse is, there is probably a solution. Don’t want to run far? Try the 5k! Don’t want to run in the heat of the summer? runDisney has races throughout the year, coast to coast. Morning person, night person- we have you covered! Cheering sections for those just there to support, After parties, the list goes on!
  2. Vacation, Staycation, make it a Racecation- You’re running at Disney. You don’t have to arrive, run and go home! Make the best of it! We already know there is something for everyone.. so bring friends and family along and make it a Racecation! Arrive a few days earlier or stay a few days later. There is always something going on at the World, while you’re there- enjoy it! Keep in mind, the upcoming registration for the Wine & Dine also falls on the Food & Wine Festival. Take advantage of that!
  3. Entertainment- Did you expect anything less than the endless amount of entertainment only Disney can provide? You are surrounded by your fellow Disney Addicts, running through Disney (Or around DL) in a themed event, wearing costumes, seeing the talent and craftiness of other runners, and of course… Characters!
  4. Extras- So on top of being at Disney you get so much more than just running through the parks under the stars or with the sun rising (Which is pretty much a done deal already) You get so many goodies! You can attend the Expos, meet incredible people, get some awesome gear, and of course a Medal… what Prince or Princess doesn’t like Bling. So for each event you get something different..

Now you can go ride rides, enjoy events such as the Food & Wine Festival and have fun! You deserve it!

Next Registration for a runDisney event is Wine & Dine Marathon, March 17. Sign up quick. Registration can fill up fast, so the sooner the better. *All runners must attend the Expo for race number, shirt & gEAR bag pick up

  • Come prepared for weather. If you need a jacket while in the corral or the start, wear something you don’t mind tossing. Any clothing tossed during the race will be donated to charity.
  • Pace. You must maintain a pace of 16 mins per mile. Tip. Train for a shorter time. Set a goal of at least 14 minutes per mile. You have to make time for photo ops, Characters, family meet ups and bathroom breaks (Go for a potty in a theme park, port-a-pottys can be not-so-magical) The “Balloon Ladies” Will be bringing up the rear at the pace time.. so if they catch ya (not in a mean or scary way) you will be Swept and a bus will come take you to the finish. They have to keep things moving and be able to open us the course as soon as possible. Just train harder next time.
  • There will be Medical Tents set up. If you need them, Use them! If you use Energy Gel Tablets, you may want to bring your own. By the time you get there, they might be gone, or not have ones you like. Also Vaseline to prevent Chafing! They will have some, but hey, never hurt to be prepared.
  • WDW Marathon Weekend all Resorts are considered “Host Resorts” which means they all provide bus services to Expo and Race Events. This is the ONLY Event they do that. Other events all Resorts are NOT Host Resorts. Watch out for that.

Don’t forget to join us for #YMBADA Race Team and click here on FB! We will all be in the same resorts, have meet ups and hang out with fellow Disney Addicts! Plus If you book with my friends and I at World of Magic Travel, you will get a Discounted Group Rate at a Resort that will have all the transportation you need for the runDisney event. Top 10 Quick Service Dining Locations in Walt Disney World

209
209

Be Our Guest Magic Kingdom

The Disney Dining Plan is a great way to keep your family on budget during your trip and eat some great meals.  When many first hear the word, Quick Service, they automatically think fast-food- such a burgers, hot dogs, and pizza.  I’m here to show you my Top 10 (in no particular order!) favorite locations throughout the Walt Disney World Parks that will give you more than your basic fare and keep your bellies happy!

Magic Kingdom:

1. Tortuga Tavern (in Adventureland)-  I love Mexican food and this little gem in the Magic Kingdom features burritos, nachos, taco salads and an awesome toppings bar to enhance your meal.

2. Be Our Guest (in Fantasyland)-  This is probably my top choice because you can not beat the food or the atmosphere.  And now that you can make reservations for this Quick Service lunch AND pre-select your meal so it’s brought to you, you will definitely feel like a Princess or Beast (Prince!) while dining in this castle.  Upscale sandwich options and desserts make this menu a winner!!

3. Columbia Harbour House (in Liberty Square)-  Sometimes you just get hungry for a good salad, or light sandwich, or something from the sea.  Columbia Harbour House has all of that plus lots of seating on two levels to cool off and enjoy a quick, yet relaxing meal.

Epcot:

4. Sunshine Seasons (in the Land Pavilion)- So many choices present themselves here that it’s sometimes hard to narrow down a choice!  Kids of all ages will enjoy healthier options here including oak-grilled chicken and fish, along with seasonal soups.

5. Liberty Inn (in American Adventure)-  American favorites, such as New York Strip Steak, Louisiana-style Shrimp, and Maryland Crab Cakes make an appearance at this large, colonial eatery.  Don’t forget the Apple Pie for dessert!

6. Lotus Blossom Cafe (in China)-  Chinese favorite, such as Orange Chicken, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Egg Rolls can be found to satisfy any sized hunger while traveling around the world.    I highly recommend the lychee ice cream for dessert!!

Animal Kingdom:

7. Yak and Yeti Local Foods Cafe (in Asia)-  Ahhh, Yak & Yeti, how I love thee!!  And the Local Foods Cafe does not disappoint when you are looking for a yummy quick meal.  The Korean Stir-fry Barbecue Chicken is one of my faves, leaving me full for my expedition up Mt. Everest or dodging the Kali River Rapids.

8. Flame Tree BBQ (in Discovery Island)-  Currently undergoing refurbishment until April 22, this Quick Service location will surely fill you up.  BBQ slathered ribs and chicken are hearty portions and if you can’t decide which one to get, then go for the combo that has both!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

9. ABC Commissary (in Commissary Lane)-  A variety of salads and combo meals, consisting of land and sea favorites, make for a well rounded menu at this quick spot.  After, you are ready to get back into the action.

10. Studio Catering Company (in Streets of America)-  Unique sandwich options make up a robust menu that keeps your taste buds wanting more.  Deli favorites are given a sophisticated twist.

There are many other great Quick Service locations and I would LOVE to hear your favorites that did not make my list!!
