The story focuses on Tink’s friend, Fawn (Ginnifer Goodwin), an animal fairy who will go to any lengths to help her animal friends.  When a distant roar is heard throughout the land, Fawn decides to investigate and discovers an ancient mythical creature, the Neverbeast.   As Fawn gets to know the Neverbeast and names it – Gruff, she is forced into a difficult situation. How to deal with a mysterious huge beast with glowing green eyes, who is not welcome in Pixie Hollow. Convincing Tink (Mae Whitman) and the gang to help Fawn and Gruff will be the easiest part of their adventure.  While Gruff is busy building rock towers, Fawn and Tink are trying to keep Gruff hidden from the scout fairies, whose leader, Nyx (Rosario Dawson) is on a mission to protect Pixie Hollow from the creature.  As Fawn grows closer to Gruff, and learns about the legend, she is convinced she can save Gruff.   But nature has other ideas in store for the Pixie Hollow group.

Review of Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy DVD

Sofia goes on her most thrilling adventure yet in “Sofia The First: The Curse of Princess Ivy“, now on DVD. Recently my family got to review this epic journey with Sofia!

We love Sofia the First in our home, and I also have a big obsession with the Disney Princesses, so new Sofia DVDs are always an exciting event here. The cover art was spectacular, and let’s us know that a special appearance from my favorite princess Rapunzel awaits us on this adventure. Not only does this DVD contain the full-length episode of The Curse of Princess Ivy, it also has 3 other enchanting tales, and a magical surprise inside!

Synopsis:

The revelation of a spellbinding secret sets in motion the most thrilling adventure in the history of Sofia the First! After learning that the Amulet of Avalor is magical, Amber snatches it while Sofia is sleeping. Unfortunately, she unwittingly unleashes a curse that summons evil Princess Ivy, who threatens to destroy the amulet, seize the crown and turn the entire kingdom black-and-white! Amber and Sofia soar through the skies on a flying dragon – aided by special guest Rapunzel – as they embark on a daring quest to defeat Ivy, break the curse and save Enchancia. Packed with high-flying excitement, plus three more song-filled episodes, The Curse of Princess Ivy shows how love, trust, and unselfishly putting others’ needs first can truly work magic!

This new adventure, not only had wonderful story telling, but lots of valuable lessons to be learned. The other 3 episodes on the DVD follow the theme of learning not to be selfish very well. My family really enjoyed the singing dragons, and we are hoping that we get to see them again. Mandy Moore reprises her role of Rapunzel in The Curse of Princess Ivy, and belts out an amazing song about trust and showing you can put someone else’s needs above your own instead of just saying it. If you are a fan of Sofia, princesses, or heroic adventures this is definitely the DVD for you!

The other thing I enjoy about Disney Junior DVDs is the bonus trinkets that can be found inside. Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy was no exception with it’s magical bauble. when opening the case for the DVD you see one of Princess Ivy’s black and white butterflies resting on a purple cord

sofianecklace

The adorable butterfly necklace is great just as it is. A bit of magic is hidden within this necklace though. When you step into the sun, the necklace changes into a beautiful purple, like the sparkling splendor of the Amulet of Avalor! This bonus adds a lot of value to the DVD, and I might keep wearing it myself!

Top 5 Character Meals at Walt Disney World

Meals

Disney Dining offers a wide variety of choices and experiences, build your own burritos, hot dogs with exotic toppings, and the beloved by all (okay, by most) – chicken fingers and fries. But nothing beats a character meal for kids and kids at heart!

Character meals are an opportunity for photo ops  and autographs with characters that you might otherwise stand in line for hours to get. And often there’s singing and dancing that goes along with the character interaction. So, what are the top 5?  Let’s get started!

1. Cinderella’s Royal Table

By far the most sought after character meal reservation, Cinderella’s Royal Table, inside Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom is open breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While it is currently closed for refurbishment until March, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention it. Various Disney princesses make appearances at the different mealtimes. Some you might expect to find are: Cinderella (of course!), Snow White, Aurora, Belle, Ariel, and Jasmine. The Fairy Godmother occasionally pops in at dinner time. Unlike many of the character meals, Cinderella’s Royal Table is not a buffet, but instead a choice of entrees from the traditional to the exotic, so there’s something to suit everyone’s taste.

2. Ohana

Another definite favorite character meal takes place at the Polynesian Village Resort very close to Magic Kingdom and on the monorail line.  The “Best Friends” breakfast features Lilo & Stitch, but of course Mickey, Pluto, and other Disney pals are also often at this meal. This character breakfast is all you care to eat and is served family style (all the items are brought to the table, and you can dish them up yourself). Mickey shaped waffles are among the favorites here, and there are other kid-friendly breakfast offerings.

3. The Crystal Palace

If you’re a fan of the friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, this is the character meal for you! Crystal Palace is located in the Magic Kingdom, and is designed to be reminiscent of Victorian greenhouses. Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger visit guests here at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy the buffet, and get those photos and autographs!

4. Chef Mickey’s

If the main Mouse is who you’re looking to spend a little time with, look no further than breakfast or dinner at Chef Mickey’s, located at the Contemporary Resort, within walking distance of Magic Kingdom, and on the monorail line. Here, Mickey and his closest pals, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, and Minnie, not only pose for photos with guests, and sign autographs, but also occasionally sing and dance with guests. Expect traditional American breakfast foods, and some favorite comfort foods, along with some healthy offerings for dinner.

5. Tusker House

Located inside Animal Kingdom, Tusker House offers an all-you-can-eat buffet with a Safari theme, and Donald, Daisy, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy to visit with. Breakfast has everything from cereal to spit-roasted, bone-in ham, while lunch ranges from hummus, to corn-dogs, to salmon. You won’t want to miss the Jungle Juice! And, coming in March, 2015, dinner will be an option!

There are, of course, many other character meal options at Walt Disney World. What’s your favorite?

I’m Jeri and I’m a Disney Addict! I’m also an Independent Travel Specialist with World of Magic Travel Services, the preferred travel agency of Chip and Co. and Disney Addicts!  If you can’t wait to try one of these or several other character meals at Walt Disney World, I’d love to help you book your vacation and make those advanced meal reservations for you so that you have the most magical vacation ever!  Contact me at [email protected] today!

Parents sailing on the Disney Cruise Line now have an easier way to make healthy food choices for their children. This is a part of Disney’s commitment to make healthy living easier and more fun for families, Mickey Check meals are now offered in rotational dining restaurants aboard all four Disney ships.

In order to get the Mickey Check, foods must be nutritious and meet Disney Nutrition Guidelines for calories, saturated fat, sodium and sugar. These guidelines were developed by leading child health experts and align to best-in-class dietary guideline recommendations. A complete Mickey Check kids’ meal, for example, includes three or more nutritious food groups (such as vegetables, whole grains, lean protein), has limited added sugar and does not have any trans fats.

“More and more families are looking for healthier options when they travel, and with Mickey Check, we’ve made it easy for them to identify these choices on our menus,” said Ozer Balli, vice president of Hotel Operations for Disney Cruise Line. “Disney is known for exceptional, innovative and fun dining experiences at its parks and resorts around the world. And dining aboard a Disney Cruise Line ship delivers on the trust, quality and promise guests expect. Now, with the Mickey Check, our expert chefs are taking healthy food and making it fun and delicious for our youngest guests.”

Immersive dining experiences at Disney Parks and on Disney cruise ships blend cuisine with storytelling in a way that only Disney can. Whether it’s a quick meal on the go, a character dining experience or an exquisite adults-only dinner at Remy, cruise guests will find a range of food and beverage options to satisfy their exotic, health conscious and even comfort-food tastes.

The Mickey Check is used at various locations throughout Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts, on Disney-licensed food products sold at retail and on qualifying recipes on Disney.com.

Planet Hollywood will Undergo a Transformation

Planet Hollywood
Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood

This is another step in the transformation of Downtown Disney into Disney Springs. Planet Hollywood is going to transform into a 4 story stargazing observatory set to debut in spring 2016. The Planet Hollywood Observatory will be centrally located and will overlook Downtown Disney. The Observatory’s exterior will share the Disney Springs turn-of-the-century design, while the interior’s refurbished upholstery, spherical planet-shaped lighting fixtures adorn the dining room.

It will have an expanded outdoor terrace and bar. You will be invited to “Dine Amongst the Stars”. The menu will be updated. A new beverage menu will feature a variety of milkshakes, smoothies, wines, bottled and draft beers, as well as cocktails served in specialty glassware to cater. There will also be an outdoor bar, called Stargazers, a lounge, a new merchandise line, and a host of all-star celebrity partnerships.

We just ate there and loved it. Do you think Planet Hollywood needs an update?

A Jungle Cruise Themed Restaurant Could be Opening in Adventureland

Hey fellow DA’s! You already know who I am! There has been so much gossip lately so Chump, oops I mean Chip has me busy, busy, busy. So much gossip so little time. Jungle Cruise anyone?

Anywho, world around the water cooler is that there is a Jungle Cruise themed restaurant coming to Adventureland.   The Adventureland Verandah might be the location. It has been empty for quite sometime now. These rumors have been circulating for a while now.

There were permits filed not that long ago that say something might be happening with this spot. The Liberty Tree Tavern is set to close this year for a quite a lengthy refurb, maybe this is why? Remember Liberty Tree Tavern and The Adventureland Verandah share a kitchen! Food for thought.

Just to make it a little juicier for you, they may also serve alcohol. Woo hoo!

What do you think? Let me know!

Well that’s all the Disney gossip I have right now. For my past gossip articles be sure to check them out here. Got any good gossip/rumors please email me at [email protected] or on my Facebook page.
